I havld been counting down to reading this book when it was first announced. I needed to read more of Neverland and Wonderland. And then, to be introduced to one of my other favorite lands of all time - Oz! Yes, totally having a moment over here. Wonderland and Oz have been my top 2 favorites forever, with Neverland right behind them.
There may be some spoilers with this review as there are 5 stories included in this book.
Monstrous as a Croc:
Wow, can I just say how much I loved the new side of Bane/Croc? I was seeing him as if through new eyes. Seeing the man he could have been if not for being the crocodile. But then, he needed to be the crocodile to help him be the man that he is in this story. And then there is the witch. I didn't see part of that coming. I can't wait to learn more about this character. I'm so excited to see what happens next!
The Original Happy Thought:
I loved learning more about not only Smee and Pete, but also Hook and Wendy. We got to see inside their lives and how their friendships and live developed into what we saw in Vicious as a Darling.
The Origins of the March Hare:
Now this story broke my heart in some places, and gave me hope in others. Ms. Moreno took an extraordinary couple/love story between March's parents and showed us the good, the bad, and the ugly. I had a new love for March after reading it.
The Festival of Danu:
Let me just say....I Love Atlas. What he does for not only Tink, but everyone who escaped the destruction on Neverland is amazing. There was excitement and adventure in each of the couples. I was enthralled by Flam and Doe's vulnerability and love for each other.
And that bomb at the end of the book!!!! I had a sneaky feeling as I read The Festival of Danu and was happy and worried about my assumption being correct.
I can't wait for Heartless as a Tinman!!!
