Dr. Lola Blakeman has a plan for her life…and it doesn't include kissing a grumpy lumberjack.
Her whole life, people have been telling Lola to loosen up, ditch her schedules and checklists, and be spontaneous. But they probably didn’t mean she should hop into her sensible hybrid and drive without a plan or direction—straight into a blizzard.
Eric Jolly may be a grouchy recluse, but when a mysterious blonde crashes into his life—literally—he can't just leave her to freeze in the snow. But it's a complication he doesn't need. He only has a few days to get his family's Christmas tree farm ready for the season. And he's far behind already.
With a heavy dose of Christmas magic and a little luck, Eric and Lola might just save the farm and fall in love while they’re at it. That is, unless Lola's secret ruins it all.

I don’t normally read Christmas books outside of the holiday season but I’m binging this series so I had to! This is a really sweet Christmas novella with a tortured hero and a woman who crash lands on his doorstep. After losing his parents, Eric takes over his family’s Christmas tree farm. His anger doesn’t make it enjoyable or magical until a woman comes out of nowhere and brings joy back into his grumpy life. But she’s a doctor and he doesn’t trust them. How could it work out?
Here we have another sweet, closed door romcom from Ash Keller. I read this in under an hour and had a big smile on my face the entire way through. I am loving this series and am looking forward to the next one right when I finish this review!

(2.5 stars) - promising potential that's a little too undeveloped
The story has a fun premise & opening, but the plot progresses in a rather choppy way, & the relationship development is very insta.
Eric & Lola's relationship changes with virtually no significant transition. They start out at odds but each starting to feel inklings of sympathy towards the other that first evening, & then the next morning Eric hugs Lola from behind when a memory makes her sad - and she's already comfortable enough that she leans back into him.
Which was unexpected & kind of out of the blue to the point that I turned back a page to see if I had missed something - or maybe my digital pages had stuck together, lol - but no, one night of refuge, & all the barriers between them are already melting.
Lola starts trying to help out but makes wreaths badly, then it skips ahead a few passages later, & she's helped him get everything ready in just a few days time, & he's so grateful for her help, & then he's in love. The conflicts are only minimally explained & easily resolved.
What there is of the story is done well enough that I'll be keeping an eye on this author - with a little bit of judicious editorial &/or beta readers' feedback, she could be really good. However, this is definitely a freshman effort.
This is a fun, adorable, feel-good comedy for the holidays and you will love it! Dr. Lola Blakeman has her life strictly planned out. Being spontaneous is not something she is familiar with. But the burned out doctor drove off in a car not well suited for bad weather, no laid out destination, and encountered a blizzard! (I bet she doesn’t try spontaneity again, or perhaps she will see the value in it now!)
Eric Jolly let himself become a hermit when his parents died. Now he is busy getting the tree farm ready for the Christmas rush, and he is already behind schedule. Then Lola crashes his world and he has to stop and take care of her first. The two of them turn out to be so healing for each other as they banter and get to know each other. They are exactly what each other needed. But when a feared secret is exposed that Lola knows will rip them apart, can it instead correct Eric’s false assumptions and bring back hope? Will they allow the happiness they shared to continue on for the rest of their lives?
This is a wonderful story with the “big reveal” presented and you won’t want to miss it and the way it affects Lola and Eric. Grab your copy and share their story.
This is a relatively short novella—only 57 pages in the PDF copy I received—but the author still crafted a sweet holiday romance with characters you couldn’t help but root for. She even did not succumb to the dreaded, but far too often seen in novellas, information dump. Instead, she starts the book with a climactic scene that puts the heroine into the hero’s orbit, as she tries to extricate herself from a car accident out in the middle of nowhere. Their first scenes are awkward, and you can tell they are both hurting… even if we do not know why. The story has a tight timeframe (perfect for a novella), coinciding with both waiting for the road to clear and the opening of the hero’s Christmas tree farm. Even though it covers such a narrow scope of time, the author creates a believable romantic arc as these two open up to each other. I’m a sucker for the “wounded souls healing each other” romantic trope. It’s a quick read, easily able to be enjoyed in just a few hours. Recommended.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
A short, christmas romance about finding yourself and learning family love is unconditional.
The second in a series which could be read as a standalone, I much prefer the first in the series though. There is only so much you can get in a short book however this was totally rushed and unrealistic, their was no chemistry between lola and Eric so when they eventually kiss I just feel - nothing - which is not what you want in a romance book!
I really like the ideas behind the book but the scenes were just unrealistic falling in love within a couple days, deciding big career plans in a couple days, even the big disaster event regarding her secret that was built up so much was instantly forgiven?? Eurgh. No. Pass on this one unfortunately 😭😭
I really enjoyed this sweet Christmas romcom about an AWOL burnt-out surgical resident and a middle school science teacher on a leave of absence to manage his late parents' Christmas tree farm in the lead up to the start of the holiday season.
The characters are so engaging, helping each other to deal with their past issues and grow into better adjusted, more mature adults. The bantering dialogue is witty. I found myself close to tears reading parts of their past stories, and laughing out loud at some of the situations they find themselves in.
I received an ARC copy of this story from the author via BookFunnel and voluntarily chose to share my review.
This Christmas short was sweet, sad, had some humour, pasts that were still being dealt with and a dog with lots of personality. I liked seeing Lola and Eric get to know each other and the changes they brought to each other, I would have liked to have seen more of their relationship and see what happened next to them both individually and as a couple.

This is a short novella. It was a very good read with one problem. It was written in the third person point of view which is a deal breaker for me, so 4 stars. Other than that the story will make you laugh from the start.

The first book in the Road Trip to Love series a fun well written short story that held my interest until the end. I enjoyed seeing Dr. Lola Blakeman and lumberjack recluse Eric Jolly get their happy ending. The Author states that *This holiday novella was previously published in the Snow in Love charity anthology with the title The Christmas Secret.* I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a beautiful holiday romance with Lola and Eric finding peace, love and happiness with each other after both being desperately unhappy and sad. The author brings out the emotions in this short story as she guides them toward one another. It's a sweet love story with perfectly painted scenes, moves quickly and smoothly and is an enjoyable read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Ash Keller writes sweet, clean, cute romances. This book is no different. Lola has a car accident right outside Jolly Tree Farm. Eric Jolly has become a hermit since his parents died and Jolly Tree Farm became his sole responsibility. The book is a short read, I recommend it if you have a free couple of hours.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
This author is now one of my favorites. I laughed at the dog and the towel. I really love the characters. This book is hard to put down. Funny, clean, sweet and heart warming, this book is a keeper.
Christmas Crasher is a sweet, fast paced novella that reads exactly like a hallmark movie. The romance was a little too quick imo, but as it’s a novella it does have to be quick paced.
This short story is full of Christmas miracle magic! Eric and Lola are both struggling with overcoming their problems. Little did they know that they would end up falling in love and helping each other move on and heal! A perfect little Christmas magic romance!

Yet another super short super cute book. This was giving me Hallmark Christmas movie feelings and now I kinda wish I had read this around Christmas time
An accidental crash in a blizzard leads to a little Christmas magic between Eric and Lola. Bur, will her secret spoil it all? A cute, fast, romance, that has a great ending!

I enjoyed the list-making, keep in lane person that Lola is and this grumpy yet good-hearted man in Eric. Who accidentally meet and how the story gives you some well and truly enjoyable moments of fun and laughter. A good read.
