Benji was a huge love in my life as a preteen girl. I loved all things Benji. The movies, the books, the stuffed toys, etc. I even remember entering a contest to try to win a real live Benji puppy, and I had a "paw"tographed photo of Benji himself. So how can I say anything bad about the book. Benji will always hold a special place in my heart.
I went to see this movie with a number of cousins. We were between 8 - 14 at the time. It made me so sad to see poor Benji being mistreated that I cried during the movie. I later purchased the book so I could read the story at home. I'm sure I cried at home too.
The family becomes interested in visiting Greece and goes. Taking both dogs, Tiffany and Benji. As they check in the luggage and the dogs, Benji gets pulled away by Mr. Dietrich, put to sleep, while he smuggles important info into his paw.
When the family arrives, where's Benji? Flights must have been mixed up. From there you go on a crazy adventure with Benji, lost in another country not really understanding what's going on.
I read this in elementary school and saw the movie also. Great fond memories when I relocated the book last year, not even realizing I still owned it.
While on his way to Athens, Greece Benji becomes involved with a secret agent who hides something on him. From there Benji begins on an exciting adventure around the city of Athens. Don't miss this story about American's most huggable hero! Don't miss this opportunity! One of my favorite stories.
Cute book, you can definitely visualize Greece & enjoy Benji's personality leap off the pages. The photos in the middle from the movie help visualize the people in the story. If you like adventures, mystery, spies, and dogs you'll love this book.
Fun book based on the movie. Benji is a delightful protagonist and Chandler Dietrich is the villain we love to hate. Their chases are suspenseful. This is also the only book I can think of that uses the word 'plummet' two times. It's not a common word but was a good one for the contexts in which it was used.
