Emotional Victory: A Biblical View of Feelings and Relationships

Rate this book
For many women, emotions hold a heavy sway over their lives and present them with constant challenges. The extremes of either being controlled by our emotions or denying them altogether may seem like the only two options, but both only lead to physical and spiritual defeat. Emotional Victory teaches women how to biblically process their emotions instead of letting them dictate their lives.

Deb Molder shares how Jesus Christ delivered her from a life of insecurity, anxiety, and fear to one of confidence and security in God, weaving personal stories of God's instruction and faithfulness throughout. Emotional Victory begins with the foundation of salvation through Jesus Christ, placing God at the center of our lives, making His Word our absolute authority, and embracing His promises. By taking hold of these principles, women will learn how to be delivered from a life run by emotions, find stability in life and relationships, and step into the spiritual victory available to us in Christ.

The key to victory is what (or who) is on the throne of your heart.

On my continuing quest to investigate the biblical truth about emotions, I stumbled upon this book and picked up a copy. I really didn't know what to expect, but thought I'd give it a try.

This book was incredibly challenging (in a good way) while also providing some much needed new perspective and revelation on topics that can begin to feel trite after a lifetime of Christianity. It took a while to read because I needed time between chapters to digest, process, and pray on the information.

While I don't completely agree with all of her interpretations, the majority of the book is rooted in Scripture with countless verses supporting her revelations and teachings. Some readers will find the KJV verses to be cumbersome, but it's easy enough to have a different translation on hand.

I'm glad I picked up this book; it ministered to me in many ways.
