Well, the title definitely fitting for the plot. This was basically a claiming story of our h by obsessed and protective mechanic H. But when the h found out the length of his obsession, she had to make a choice whether to embrace it as undying love or creepy stalker kind.
The story was short, fast paced, and smutty from the get go. I have to warn you though, there's some sort of dubcon scene going on, but not much that it crossed taboo. Although the story closely related to its prequel, it could be reaf as standalone.

Ever since the day that Dax rescued Chrissie he has been obsessed with her. Obsessed with her safety and her body, but being so much older than she is he never really thought anything would happen between them, until the day she expresses her feelings for him. This book ties into some of the other Men of Burly Bear series but it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

I have given The Loner’s Obsession a 4.2 stars. I am a sucker for stalker, obsessed alpha-male stories but tend to shy away from short stories altogether. I was curious how the author would be able to tell and build upon a good story and include all the sizzle without it falling flat and seeming rushed. I was quite impressed with Ms. Raine’s talented writing skills and her ability to make it easily flow. Overall the storyline was great and could’ve easily been a 300+ page novel. I especially enjoyed the Scorching-Hot-Steam 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥that alone was worth the read.
This is the first book I’ve read by author Felicity Raine and will be adding more of her books in my TBR list. I’ve already purchased the remaining books in this series and look forward to more of her talented writing. I guess it’s fair to say that Ms. Raine has given me a true appreciation for short stories and have now broadened my reading categories. Thank you!

The first half of this book was hot. Sure, Dax is super creepy and everything about our couple is problematic. But it was entertaining. Not to mention really, really hot. Chrissie was tough, but kind. Someone to be admired. She didn’t just give in to Dax right away. Then, while our couple was in Chrissie’s bedroom, the daddy and breeding stuff returned. That was a personal mood killer for me. Instead of cringing though, I just laughed at the ridiculousness. Especially at how fast things moved between them after just one encounter.

Love how he was wanting her to get pregnant so badly that he kept his shlong inside her LIKE POSSESSIVE MUCH DADDY. DADDY AND GOOD GIRL KINK. This man’s dirty talk got me hot 🥵.

I would first like to say that this is the first time I am reading a product of Felicity Raine. This is the second book in the Men Of Burly Bear. I read this as a stand-alone and did not have any trouble comprehending the plot line. Also, this book only has 10 chapters and an epilogue.
The couple in this book Chrissie and Dax. Chrissie is 19 and Dax is 37. There was not much of a buildup to their relationship. Dax has been watching her and Chrissie was oblivious to the fact until a chance encounter.
In this book, the plot was very limited. I would say it is 95% steam and 5% plot. The plot revolves around the budding relationship between Dax and Chrissie. The book is written in dual point of view, Dax and Chrissie.
The “romance” scene was steamy. I will never judge on the amount of romance scenes in a book, but more the quality of the scenes themselves. The scenes brings up a person’s first time and breeding. If I had to rate the scenes by themselves, I give it a 4 out of 5. There was dialogue, but the scenes felt short which coincides with the length of the book.
The ending of the book tied the book together and the character’s conflicts were address.
With that being said, I give the book a 3 out of 5.

Dax has been obsessed with Chrissie for the longest time. Appointing himself her protector, he goes to extensive lengths to make sure she's safe. Even though a little odd, Chrissie has always found Dax kind of hot. Knowing the feelings aren't reciprocated, it's enough for her to keep her crush on him a secret. When Chrissie's crush is accidentally revealed to Dax, to her surprise, he's more than ok w/it.
Circumstances force Chrissie to rethink her feelings for Dax. Dax is determined to make Chrissie see that they belong together, and he'll do whatever it takes to assure her that they were meant to be together.

The Loner’s Obsession is the second fast-paced dirty quickie in the Men of Burly Bear series by Felicity Raine. You can read each book as standalone but I do recommend reading the series since they are somewhat connected. Katie found her forever man and now it’s her sister Chrissie’s turn.

The Loner’s Obsession is an age gap book and if you don't mind overly possessive hero and almost half his age heroine I think you could really enjoy this one. It's the first Felicity Raine book I've ever read and I'm glad I did.
Dax comes from a family of addicts so he knows forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest and he can't help but wanting Chrissie. She's the youngest kid in her family and used to taking care of everyone but Dax wants to take care of her. She's used to only counting on herself only but Dax is always there for her, no matter what. I’m actually always looking for books with those over the top heroes. Dax fits the bill. This man is full on obsessed with the heroine.
There’s a big age gap here, he’s almost twice her age at 37 and 19. Of course, this paved the way for her calling him daddy. This book is on the shorter end but the steam scale is off the charts.
If age gaps and stalker-y heroes make you happy you will definitely not regret reading this sizzling story.

The author has given us a wonderful older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Dax and Chrissie and does not let go. Dax has been obsessed with keeping Chrissie safe since he rescued her on the side of the road. Chrissie has dreamed of being his but has decided that it is just wishful thinking.

Protective ~
I enjoyed reading this story. I liked that it answered a few questions and referenced the first book in this series, and then red lined the lust-o-meter. I liked his honesty about his expectations. I enjoyed her honesty as well. The ability to effectively communicate, goes a long way in believing a relationship can work. The ending was perfect for them, as it should be.

Over-the-top, but while Dax is an admitted stalker, it doesn't really feel that way. This one has a bit less of a story than the previous book did, but definitely more steamy scenes. It adds information to the previous story that probably should have been there instead. Chrissie is only 19, and Dax is much older. Overall, decent book if you want one that's heavy on steam and light on story.

This story is very hot, dual POV, well written and edited, and a steamy, quick read. I really enjoyed the character interactions and relationship development. The story stands alone from the previous one, which I appreciated.

Saying Dax is a total alpha is an understatement. But his possessiveness and obsession over Chrissie is just what she’s looking for. From the moment she met Dax, he’s all she can think about. The Loner’s Obsession is another hot and steamy addition to the Men of Burly series by Felicity Raine and it a perfect fit.

This is a first-time author for me, it was a quick and steamy romance. where Dax being an older man, watched the woman he swears to protect. Chrissie was a young girl, always taking care of others and for once wanted someone to take care of her.
