G.R. Lyons stumbled into writing as a form of trauma recovery when traditional therapy wasn't working.
Then the story ideas just kept on coming.
Pulling from a vivid imagination as well as real-life experience as a trans man, a sexual assault survivor, and a person living with mental illness, Lyons has written multiple, interconnected series set within his fictional world of the Shifting Isles.
When not writing, Lyons can be found belly dancing around the house, studying anarcho-capitalist philosophy, buried in his never-ending TBR pile, or working out at the local CrossFit gym.
This is a free novella best read after Living in Zin by the same author. I do like the four guys but there wasn't a lot of story just a continuation of the original book - maybe this could have just been at the end of it? I did enjoy it and it was clear and easy to understand.
I love how all the men care about each other and work together to make sure that Ryder has what he needs. They are always ready and I love that they are finding the best way to meet everyone's needs.
I do like the spice level but the character of Ryder troubles me.
Ryder is on the spectrum and comes across as very young and vulnerable. The fact that he has an obsession with bunnies adds to the feeling of him being very immature so him having a relationship with three men felt a bit disturbing to me. That said, there is no doubt that events in this bonus story and the book are consensual.
