Garrett didn’t believe in love, much less love at first sight, until Jessica. He’d spent his life building his company, obsessed with power and money. Because of the pain of his childhood, nothing was more important to him than success, until she walked into his life.

Can he overcome her fears and insecurities before it’s too late? More importantly, will he be able to hide his obsession and tone down his dominant personality long enough to gain her love and trust?

Jessica has had to fight for everything her whole life. First to just survive, then to make something of herself, and now she must fight her own insecurities to have a chance at love.

Will she destroy any chance at love and happiness she’d get with Garrett?

Author Bio ~ Mia Jones was born and raised in Iowa and still resides there with her husband and children. She’s an author of contemporary romance novels and devotes hours to creating steamy novels with happy endings that she hopes entertain people, make them laugh and sometimes cry, but always ends the book feeling good.
Mia started writing when she was thirteen. She found writing was a way to comfort herself during her rough teenage years, and she never stopped. It was only when her mother and sister pushed her did she finally send in a novel, and to her surprise, people enjoyed it and asked for more.
You can usually find her at her home in the country surrounded by her family and many animals and the majority of the time in her quiet little office, conjuring up whole new interesting families and communities.
Some of Mia’s favorite things are spending time with her family, her dogs, riding horses, gardening, cooking, hiking and, of course, writing and reading romance novels.

Uber possessive hero who falls for the heroine as soon as he meets her. He sees no one else once they meet and has to work on getting her to spend time with him because she thinks she's so out of his league.

Minor OW shenanigans that the hero dealt with immediately because how dare they try to play games and tell lies to his lady?

My only issue: I understand why the heroine felt the way she did but her insecurities got a little old for me, knowing how much the hero cared for her and how he treated her, she still expected something awful to happen so she was quick to believe the lies.

This author is new to me but not after this.

This was so so good. I hadn’t read a romance story in a while and this is just what I needed.

Garretts priority has always been money... that is until he sees Jessica. She turns him inside out. Jessica has insecurities. Can they overcome them?

I was so rooting for these two. I just wanted to push them together. Great read.

I loved this book so much!!! Once I started reading it, I did not want to put it down. I felt an instant connection with Jessica and wanted to know more about her. I know that some people may find her weak and annoying, but I truly understand and can relate to her. Garrett is the type of man that I dream about - tall, dark, powerful, and passionate. There is something about him that just made me want to be Jessica and the one in his arms.

This book was a really easy read. The story flowed and their were very minimal grammar mistakes that did not take away from the reading and comprehension of the story.

There is one thing that I wish Mrs. Jones would have explored a little deeper was the character of Melanie. I felt like she could have been a more interesting part of the story, but we only see her twice. She stirs up trouble than disappears. I think she would have been a more drama filled dynamic to this story.

This story had the potential to turn into a BDSM love story, but I am really glad that Mia Jones kept it on the romance side of the fence.

I highly recommend this story to anyone looking for a great romantic read. This story kept me on the edge of my seat and my temperature high 😉. Mia Jones is a very talented writer and I see her only growing as she continues to pen stories. I look forward to reading more from her...very soon!

Such a beautiful love story that will have you engrossed through their entire journey.
I was an emotional wreck reading it.
I smiled at their antics, hyperventalated in their steamy scenes, cried at their desperation, screamed at their injustice, sobbed at their heartbreak and finally was overjoyed when against all obsticals they finally found their happy ending.

Great writing by Mia Jones as always

Hope we see these characters again, maybe in their kids story!?... **crossing fingers**

Slight spoilers throughout review

Garrett was an amazing OTT JP hero. I loved how obsessed he was with Jessica but always tried to go slow for her. He sacrificed his work and sometimes his sanity😆 to reassure her that she was the only one he could ever want. The sexy times were steamy but nothing super explicit/dirty. Garrett alone brought my review to 3 stars.

Jessica was our heroine was our shy self conscious heroine. Oh boy was she insecure!!! I usually love the shy, awkward “I need someone to show me how wonderful I am” kind of heroine. We usually get to see a progression of confidence with this type of heroine. Sadly that did not happen here. Everyone there was a slight “perceived” bump in the road she cried, stopped breathing and ran. On occasion she would even forget to eat. 🙄 Garrett constantly had to run after her and reassure her that he loved her. At no point did I feel like she gained any confidence in the story. Towards the end I just wanted him to say forget it or at least tell her that she needed to see a therapist before they could continue. This girl needed therapy and no amount of “I love you” or f****** was going to help her in my humble opinion 🙂

There were some parts of the plot that just did not make any sense. What was the point of Melanie? Why did we have to get those short paragraphs from her POV? She literally appeared in the beginning and then we got a short appearance at the end. Angie (bf) kept talking about how depressed she seemed. I thought we would get an attempted murder/suicide scene maybe? I was really expecting that to be the climax of the story. This would have made Jessica pull her head out of her ass!!! What was the issue with Garrett/Jessica’s background being a secret? It seemed like they both avoided the topic and there was going to be a big discussion later. We just get a brief summary of their discussion after the fact and it’s all good🤨🤨🤨

The epilogue was nice but I just did not feel like I got to see issues resolved and was a bit let down.
