I recently read Euphoria. The short read was easy to get into with its easy writing style. It follows the love story of Camilla and Duncan, the duo decided to get away on their fifth anniversary (being in a relationship) to remedy their bound to crash relationship.
Both had started off with thoughts of not getting into anything serious, but five years down the line and the dynamics has changed. Camilla wants more and Duncan knows this, but he is not willing to give her more due to fear and other personal issues. But, the twist is that he doesn’t also want to let her go.
We read as they both find their way back to themselves and understand each other. I loved how non dramatic, fast and easy it was to get into this book. Although there weren’t a lot of sweet scenes of the main characters because they’ve already been in a relationship for years, it was still nice to read their misunderstandings and getting back together at the end.
PS: Bunmi is my fav character in the book, I love how mean she was 😂😂
This was my very first time reading anything by this and I have to say, I’m hooked for life!
The story follows Camilla and Duncan, a couple who have been in a five-year relationship. In a last attempt to save what’s left of it, they decide to go on a getaway for their anniversary. Will the trip help them fix things or finally tear them apart? You will have to read to find out.
This book honestly reminded me why situationships are a bad idea with the opposite gender. You will just end up in premium tears 😂. Duncan was so annoying! But as I read on, I started to understand him better. He is clearly still broken and haunted by the loss of his late wife, and it shows. I felt sorry for Camilla as some point. Loving a man who is clearly hanged up on his ex dead wife must be hard.
What I loved most was how the story touched on deep themes like grief, healing, love after loss, emotional vulnerability, self discovery, letting go, and hope. Duncan and Camilla’s journey through misunderstandings and emotional baggage felt real and raw. And oh Bunmi 😂 She was hands down my favorite character. I seriously hope she gets her own story because she totally deserves it.
The pacing was just right, the characters were well developed and multi dimensional, and the writing style? Super engaging. I didn’t want it to end.
Overall , I highly recommend this book. It checked all the boxes for a great read. I’m definitely diving into more books from this author 🥳❤️
