Shy never intended to get involved with a bunch of one-percent bikers. But when someone comes into her life, giving her an unthinkable ultimatum, she finds she is willing to do things she never would have thought possible to protect her family.
She didn’t expect to fail.
Or to be granted not only forgiveness, but help, from the best looking man she’d ever seen.
She certainly didn’t think she would start falling for the standoffish, broody McCoy, yet there was no denying things were starting to take a turn for the serious between them.
But the threat facing all their lives came with many different faces, leaving them scrambling to find the enemy before it is was late, before it threatened to destroy everything and everyone they loved…
Jessica Gadziala is a USA Today bestselling author who lives in rural New Jersey with her parrots, dogs, and an ever-growing collection of houseplants. A lifelong dreamer, she’s been writing stories since childhood and published her first book in 2015. When not at her desk, she’s usually feeding backyard birds, rewatching crime dramas, period pieces, and 90s supernatural TV shows, or adding to her towering stacks of unread books.
So, this story starts off with a bang literally and figuratively
So let me give you bit of back story on Shyanna Jordan, most just call her shy…..So shy , is somewhat of workaholic, who is under paid nail art specialist that is struggling to get by, with dreams of opening her own salon one day- (ShyBelle)
Shy
So, what is Shy to do when someone kidnapped her baby sister Belle, and ransom demand wasn't money but that you shoot one of the Mc members, they didn’t one any particular person. Just one of the Henchmen dead so you can get your baby sister back , or they will kill her
ღ McCoy was the most observant, the most likely to read between the lines.
The man has grown up in a life that was hard and not full of much love until he finds himself his own family through his brothers at the Henchmen .
McCoy, the man could have you at times laughing out loud due to how blunt and no-holds-barred kind of person he is, but other times you might struggle to connect with his character …. But then he’d do something to show his sweeter side and all was forgiven
You always know in between the lines you are going find plenty of drama and course just the right amount of steamy moments with JG’S Books … so no disappointment here
JG takes us back to the Florida chapter of the Henchmen in this thrilling next book in the series.
Shyanna Jordon is a struggling woman who works as a nail art specialist with aspirations of opening a salon with her sister Belle. Their life hasn't been easy but they have always had each other. So why is Shy suddenly walking into a MC clubhouse with the intent of killing one of the bikers.
After being on the road for twelve hours all McCoy wants to do is to get a good nights sleep even though there is a all night party going on downstairs in the clubhouse. When he finds a woman in his bathroom who looks a bit out of it, he just thinks she is one of girls there for the party and mistakenly made her ways upstairs. That all changes when she pulls out a gun and points it at him and shoots.
The opening two chapters of the book certainly captures your attention and you just have to know what is going on. Per usual, JG gives us a great story full of suspense, drama, comedy and of course a swoon worth romance.
Yes! Yes! Yes! I love this book and this series and these characters. I love this gripping, exciting and action-packed page-turner 😍 What can I say? When it comes to gripping and full of hot 🔥 outlaw biker romances, Jessica Gadziala is absolutely the best address 🥰
McCoy is not only hot, but also serious, distrustful and extremely cautious. Always cool-headed and calm, even in the most dangerous and stressful situations. Yeah, until he meets Shy and his life changes to what he never had, to a reality where he started thinking about the future.
Shy is a amazing badass heroine. She's quite, tough and thoughtful. She's also sweet and has good heart, but stubborn enough to know what she wants and go for it.
I love their relationship. Their calm and respectful way to communicate and talk to each other, even in a very stressful situations. That's probably the first action book, where the couple never had a fight or argument with each other despite all the drama that happened in this book.
This book is definitely a must-read for all romance lovers ❤
McCoy was always one I was interested in ... a little introvert, possibly grumpy and yet there was just something there that made me curious. I love Shy. I was so happy that she found not only the man for her but also that she is tougher than she thought she was. So putting McCoy and Shy together and giving them a future was awesome. As for her sister Belle, I hope we hear more about her in future stories even if she isn't the main character.
We are back rolling with the florida guys and oh what a place it is to be.
Shy- A hardworking under paid nail tech is struggling through trying to save up for her dream salon with her sister Belle. They haven't had an easy life but they've made the best out of their situation with little complaint and a lot of hard work on both parts. So why on earth would the unsuspecting woman suddenly switch lanes and try her hand at being a mercenary.
McCoy hasn't had an easy life but he found a home with the boys and made it work. Him being normally the silent, stewing type that doesn't trust easy. So what on earth made him give the gorgeous girl with a sprinkling of freckles and enchanting hazels eyes a chance. Even after she tried to kill him. Well it wasn't sanity on his part but I guess it worked out for the best and it is a pretty good story to tell the grandkids later on down the line, right.
These two made my heart happy. Despite their crazy beginning and much needed adjustment period. They seemed to gravitate toward eachother for comfort and it just felt very natural. Neither character had a crazy loud or overly out there personality and that worked for them because they just settled into a little bubble of them. Now of course they had crazy hot chemistry and a good dose of banter which just solidified their connection all the more. But all round despite the circumstances I'd say the relationship aspect is actually pretty chilled and flowed super easy from page to page.
Now this is Henchmen so of course there is drama, unexpected happenings and a good dose of suspense to keep us on our toes. There also a tonne of sweet, a whole lot of sexy and a good chunk of humour that will have you chuckling for a hot minute. I adore these guys and the ever developing friendships/relationships between them and the girls. There is something so swoony about guys who take care of their women regardless of the relationship.
Jessie yet again didn't disappoint here. McCoy was unexpected in all the best ways and kept me locked in from page one. Great character development, new and exciting plots... and a world that continues to grow and evolve in a way that makes me so excited for the future and what's to come. Character that I truly love and am always greedy for more from.
When I tell you I am so damn needy for Teddy it ain't funny. That man is a miracle. I swear he better have the most amazing woman.
Oh, McCoy... I've been waiting for your story since I met you in the first book of the series. I didn't particularly like Shy for you (she did some inexplicably dumb things throughout), and I really didn't like how your background story was so rushed (I mean, only one page, Ms. Gadziala?!?!). However, I loved you through it all, my fine Black brother!
“I hadn't said it yet. I had barely been able to admit it to myself yet, knowing it was too soon, knowing it was irrational, but unable to deny it either. But I was falling for that woman. For her quiet toughness. For all her sweetness. For her thoughtfulness and her good heart. For her clumsiness and obsession with fucking Eddie's cooking. Hell, I wasn't falling. It was past tense. I'd fallen. And I had to fucking get her back.”
Shyanna “Shy” Jordan lives a content life. She works every day to save up for her dream. That is the only way she can put up with her horrible boss and making less than she is worth. One night changes everything. She is given an impossible task, but her choice was never really hers to make. This choice brought her to the Henchmen MC compound. While she should have faced consequences for her actions, they offered their assistance.
Cliffhanger – no (book #3 in series) POV - Shy & McCoy
Jessica takes us back to the Golden Glades (Florida) chapter of the Henchmen with McCoy’s HEA. McCoy is the rational one, objective, unemotional, a little grumpy, even cold. Until he meets Shy when she shoots him. How and why she’s in the bathroom upstairs with a gun is a but convoluted. But despite actually firing the weapon the Florida Henchmen and especially McCoy are all in to help her. In the process McCoy and Shy find their love story.
The developing relationship between Shy and McCoy is engaging, sweet and hot all at the same time. The side characters and epilogue are as always amazing. My only disappointment is why the bad guy set Shy up in the first place was never explained.
Another wonderful HEA from the indomitable Jessica Gadziala and another great add to one of my favorite MC series.
This book was much darker than I expect from the author Jessica Gadziala.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER S P O I LE R S ...................... The heroine's sister is kidnapped and raped. She says she wasn't raped because it was forced oral, but that is still rape.
The heroine's sister changes her entire lifestyle, opens up a self defense studio for women, and never has a relationship or kids.
The heroine is also kidnapped (after they got the sister back originally). She is rescued and the hero gives her the dream nail salon she always wanted. The colors, the tables, the name, everything the way she wanted it.
I just couldn't get over the sister and how her entire life was ruined.
I LOVED this book. I really don’t write reviews unless it’s an arc but this one totally deserves it. It’s sweet, and violent, dark is a minimum, all the supporting characters that we already haven’t met leave you wanting more. I devoured in a day. Could not put it down!
I enjoyed McCoy as an MC read with zero ow scenes or drama, but what moved this to 4 stars were the epilogues, especially the extended one 10 years out. It meant that I ended the book feeling mushy and in love with their HEA, which is just the best feeling to end a book on.
I'd never read a book by this author, but I wanted to check one out and the blurb for McCoy caught my eye. Shy (h) is a sweet lady who's backed into a corner to try and save her sister, but thankfully her attempt at carrying out the mission she's been given not only fails, but brings her the attention of McCoy (H). These two had an immediate connection, but it's not insta-love, their relationship develops throughout the book. That development is helped by forced proximity due to the continued threat against both of them. McCoy is a member of an MC that does both legal and illegal activities and while there are some dark themes mentioned, they never stay the focus for long so this isn't a dark book. Potential trigger warning of a side character being sexually assaulted off page, with some brief references post-trauma.
The other MC members all appear to be good guys at heart and there's a strong theme of found family. The two whose books are the earlier ones in the series have their families around the clubhouse. The other men are single and while women apparently show up to parties or as guests, there aren't hanger-ons lounging around the clubhouse.
This read fine as a standalone and is written in first person, dual POV. The pacing of the book went well and while there are plenty of steamy scenes, the focus of the book is on the relationship and the suspense from the unknown threat. I'll be looking through Ms. Gadziala's backlog for more since it looks like she has plenty with no ow drama.
Jessica writes such outstanding books, and I’m loving the Glades Henchmen. Shy meets McCoy and they are perfect together. This book had all the feels for a wonderful love story. Looking forward to the next one!
This series isn’t very diverse but I have to note that this features Black MCs. It’s not very detailed though so they blend in with all the other MCs in this series, but it’s the first instance where neither MC is strictly white. Otherwise, it’s the same formula of hot biker meets damsel in distress and romance happens. And where I’m at right now, that’s exactly what’s suiting my reading needs, but hey YMMV.
How do you know you've got an AMAZING new Golden Glades Henchmen novel from Jessica Gadziala? When stuff kicks off in the first chapter, and you finish the entire thing in one setting!
This new Henchmen series gets better and better with each new book as each character gets more and more fleshed out. I didn't have any real attraction to McCoy before this book, but his interaction with his brothers, Shay, and especially his care for Shay's sister Belle has endeared him to me for life!! Not only is he super sexy (that bedroom scene after Shay recovers from her concussion? DAMN!!), but his genuine care and concern for Belle's mental health was really just so sweet.
Shay is just WOW!! The gumption it took to follow an adversary's directions and walk into a club where she knew no one to protect her sister was fascinating. I was stunned that Jessica took McCoy that direction that quickly, but it's a lot of fun, and parts took me back to Summer destroying the side of the clubhouse in the OG Henchmen, lol.
There is a LOT going on in McCoy, so if you're not paying attention you could miss something, and I think there were hints of where Belle could be going next and with WHO and I'm so hopeful!! I love seeing the side characters growing more and more involved, and hopefully we'll soon see Teddy's full story!
McCoy is definitely a 5⭐ ride, and SO MUCH FUN, don't look away though, you don't want to miss where Ms. Gadziala is headed next!!
I couldn’t really connect with Mcoy or get a good read on him as a character. He didn’t seem to have his own unique voice like most of the Henchmen normally do. The plot was okay though we’re not left with a good resolution. We don’t actually know what Anton wanted or who he really was. We needed more of him to fill in that part of the plot. Also it didn’t feel like Belle was cohesive throughout. Odd changes, almost over the top from one scene to the next. We’re told how close Belle and Shy are and even by the epilogue they don’t have seemed to resolved that. Sure Shy mentioned how she has to grow up and accept the “changed” or “new” Belle but I really think Huck had it right telling her she needed therapy. That I think would have been a much stronger building block for Belle and their relationship ship instead of painting the picture that therapy is bad or only for the weak and you can just learn to kick ass and kill people instead. I was hoping Belle would get her own book and we’d see her character develop more there but the epilogue shut down that idea.
Shy was the one I felt had the strongest character development and most personality.
It was an okay book but didn’t keep be drawn in, and it took me over a week to finish it.
Shy came to the clubhouse to kill a Henchman. She shot MCCoy. With every good will written MC the author does let the reader down Mccoy falls for Shy. The Henchmen bring her and her sister Belle into the family to protecting them from an unknown enemy who wants the members dead. Mccoy gives Shy her dreams, couple of kids and a hugh extended family. Jessica never fails when it comes to the Henchman series. Action from being to the end, giving us more insight to the other brothers.💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Another home run for Ms. Gadziala!!! I can't get enough of her books. Perfect blend of action, thrills, lust, and love as always! Can't wait for the next book in this series to see what these Henchmen get into next and who the next one is to fall for an amazing woman.
I’ve been a bit disjointed with reading of late, picking up a book and putting it down… a lot. This one though I read right through. It’s good to be back 😊. JG has a way of getting things started right away and this one had the funniest meet cute. Shooting your guy because your sister was kidnapped and that’s the ransom demand.
I loved how all the club was. The guys just rallied around making things happen. And I still want, need a Teddy in my life. I did like the characters Shy and McCoy, they instantly clicked but it didn’t feel forced considering it took McCoy almost six months to tell her he loved her. Very sweet. I appreciated just how nice it was to have all the drama happening outside of the relationship!
The villain seemed less meshed out. McCoy guess was that the guy wanted their arms trade so he needed to get rid of the henchmen. Good enough but still a little weak on the motivation, technique etc we don’t get closure there but with what I’ve read lately I’ll take it!🙃
I'm not always in the mood for MC books. Sometimes, I just want something light. A historical romance maybe. A bit of murder mystery. No guns blazing or a criminal lifestyle. But everytime I find myself in a book slump and can't seem to find a good book to settle into, I pick up one of Jessica Gadziala's books. And I find myself devouring it in one go. Because no matter how much I am not in the mood for an MC read, she always makes me love it. Leaving me happy and wanting more.
There are not many relationships that start with one trying to kill the other but that's the case here. McCoy and Shy's life together is not conventional but are any of the Henchman's ?
