My first time reading from this author! And it was great! I was surprise that the hero is actually OTT POSSESSIVE ALPHA MALE😙😙 So that was a great one! I love that so much😁😁😁
THIS STORY is about a girl who have a crush on a guy that always with her cousin because they’re are best friends, she saw the hero like she wants him but it took THE HERO FIVE YEARS LATER TO FINALLY SEE THE HEROINE A WOMAN HE WANTS… The heroine’s dad is kinda like a mafia and very protective like so freaky protective towards his daughter especially the heroine is the youngest and most naive among his daughters… so I understand if the hero didn’t saw the heroine like she wanted him to or like he supposed to… THE HEROINE went away in those five years because she saw the hero is kissing someone else, while the hero is whoring himself to basically anyone around the world he says… The hero grew up in a very hard world of his own because of his family is not normal one and his heart is kinda dark because he always says that, so thats why he is the way he is. He is a manwhore before he likes the heroine, I sympathize with his situation and his whole deal that he thought was right for him. But I do get so annoyed when the hero always says on his mind about himself in the old days, or “our fantasy rooms were booked out for months in advance” the rooms in some club that he likes to go. like he always compares that with the heroine and the whole relationship with the heroine, like stop. But this is his first serious commitment relationship that involves with his feelings being tested for the first time in a decade so i do understand why he is the way he is…

‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE IS A VIRGIN AND VERY TALENTED ONE! i love reading a heroine who is a strong one and talented woman who likes to work hard… Also the heroine is very naive about almost everything so yes you would read about a girl who’s going to be in a relationship for the first time and experiences everything for the first time.
‼️‼️‼️NO DRAMA WITH OW. ONLY WITH OM but not too annoying… other drama is about themself😂
‼️‼️‼️NOT LOVE IN FIRST SIGHT. For the heroine it is but for the hero? Nope. Maybe in the second book he admit it was love in first sight😂

“Ash baffled me with his moods. One moment he was colder than ice, the next, smoul-wondering so hot that he’d burn my fingers.”

😒😒😒 now you realize that after she ran away because you always told her to go away from you? The heroine is sooo patient with the hero being so childish and difficult like that, like she hugs him and kissed him to make sure that pushing away thing was not real from the hero. She so nice and patient woman… I like that about her but i also think the hero needs a slap to a reality because its too much🤪😆
2. WHEN HE WAS CONFUSED ABOUT HIS FEELINGS ABOUT THE HEROINE AFTER FIVE YEARS LATER AND TALK TO HER ABOUT IT, HE GOES OUT TO THE CLUB THAT HE USED TO WHORE HIMSELF😂🤣 Like he was confused and decided to do that? 😒
“BUT EVERY TIME I’D TRIED TO HAVE SEX WITH SOMEONE ON THAT TRIP, MY D*CK HAD GONE REFUSED TO WORK.”
Which means he tries to forget about the heroine and try to do that… I’m glad it didn’t say the details😅 I’m also glad that he never sleeps or further touch any other woman since he meet the heroine again but still the way he say something like that really worries me a bit… I also prefer the hero to be 100% loyal to the core when he meets the heroine or after meeting again with the heroine, not this complicated hero but I understand where he is coming from and also he is not that bad…

I am glad this didn’t become another one if those books where the girl is “inducted” into the bdsm wild life of the guy. For a change the guy wanted to come out of his tie a girl first before fucking lifestyle to fully experience his inhibited partner. He love the h being expressive and marking him. I hope that continues in the series for them and she doesn’t become a part of his “sex club”. I’d want them to create their own niche lol if you will when it comes to sex

I am so in love with this series!
This is the first book in Ash and Lucrezia’s (Lucy) story
I strongly suggest reading the previous books prior to this one - If not to increase the connection with the characters then just to enjoy the journey
How often is it that you find dark dangerous men who put their women on pedestals to worship above all else?
"Batshitcrazy gene activated"
I fracking love Ash
He has survived a vicious childhood under the guise of making him stronger. Despite the transgressions and cruelties he has faced, under all that armor he has erected to survive, still lies a loving heart.
But like any wild animal that has been domesticated never assume they are tame
He has no intention of ever settling down. He has seen the dark side of family life and wants nothing to do with it. Better to enjoy all the flavors the world has to offer.

When did she grow up?
"You are a bad man's fantasy and I really don't have any good thoughts right now"
Lucy - I will admit there are some scenes where she seems just a touch too innocent, but IDK, it just works so well for her personality that you have to laugh at the picture of it. She is naive but she is also stubborn and strong-willed, not in a spoiled or brain-dense way. She has a brain and she uses it, but she is still that protected child who sees the good in everyone.
"You never knew how much you needed help until it arrived in your home"
When her business is put at risk she turns to Xavier for help. Where one goes the other two follow and soon Lucy finds she gets a lot more help than she bargained for.
"You're forbidden fruit that tempts men to sin"
These two are so perfect for each other. Lucy pushes just enough to get what she wants. The tenderness, the laughter, everything about them works
I admit there is just something about the way Robertson crafts her characters and stories that hit home for me every time
All the violence and darkness I look for in a mafia read blended with a romance that touches every heartstring
This ends on an "Oh Broken Crackers you are in trouble" scene so be prepared

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Midnight Dynasty series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Ash sexy as all get out broody, grump, son of a very cruel mafia don, who grew up despite his horrific childhood he survived and turned the pain into something more but also vowed never to love or allow anyone to see the true darkness. Lucrezia smart, protected, sheltered, a gilded cage (beautiful, loved but locked away just the same), daughter of another mafia don and wanting to make something out her jewelry designs. Now the two of them have know each other most of their childhood and she has crushed on Ash most of her life. However, he never saw it because his childhood/young adulthood was pain (he lived through it daily). Although this is the 4th book in the Midnight Dynasty series it's the first book in Ash and Lucrezia's story. If you haven't read the previous books you might want to so that you have a better understanding of the characters and to get more backstory. Ash and Lucy are both the children of mafia dons but they were brought up entirely different. Ash surrounded by violence and Lucrezia surrounded by love but still locked away behind secured walls. They've known each other most of their lives and she's always had feelings for Ash that he was oblivious to. When she needs help Ash is there for her and that's when things get interesting. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. I will say that you definitely want to read this book and embark on this journey with them.

This book is an amazing start to what is going to be a beautiful trilogy! Ash and Lucrezia are beautiful in their tragic and forbidden love story. Book 1 follows their story as they fall in love. Lucrezia the sheltered daughter of a mafia boss and Ash the broken man with a violent past. They have known each other for years but this time Ash sees her in a whole new light. She becomes his light in the darkness.

This book was awesome as it dips under the surface of the characters to begin showing us who they really are under all of their posturing and the masks people wear to protect themselves. The way this book started and how it started before the previous 3 books in the series really rubbed me the wrong way at first, but as the book progressed I understood why the author had done so. As the book finally started to catch up to the other books it ended.
As such and as always I can’t wait to read the next installment in this amazing world the author has created with all the ties to the Vendetta Brotherhood and beyond.

Loved the book it was awesome, the story is one that held you hostage until you finished. Ashton's father was the Mafia Don, his father would fight him and tell Ash he was not worthy of the Blackwood name. Jordan was one of his best friend that trained them to fight, inflict pain on people and be able to stare them down. Jordan and Xavier were his best friends and they were more brothers they done everything together they own clubs Ash was an accountant. Lucrezia is the sister of Xavier and she has been in love with Ashton for a long time. Lucrezia has a little design company Ashton bought the gems so Lucrezia can design they became partners?

Madison and Francis are her greatest allies in her dream of becoming a jewelry designer. Ash sees her one day not as the annoying little sister she once was, but as a beautiful woman who speaks to his soul. Their journey will not be a smooth one, but their love is strong enough to sustain them. The tension in their story is palpable and mounts as their relationship develops and is almost explosive when this story ends. A wonderful read.

This 4th book in the Midnight Dynasty series centers around Ash and Lucrezia and their very exciting romance. The journey for them starts at a very young age for Lucrezia and Ash is your first crush, first love and forever man. I completely love reading stories like this one where true love abounds and pushes to overcome obstacles and opposing forces. I love stories of empowered women find themselves in their worth and strength. Lucy does exactly that and even though this HEA isn’t completely resolved yet - it left me with fuzzy happy feelings. Diving into the next book now.

I think this is my favorite book yet. I love Ash and Lucy together. I love seeing where it all began, where he finally opened his eyes, where he finally opened his heart! Of course it still has it angst filled throw your kindle moments but it’s oh so good. Can’t wait to get my hands on their next installment!

This genre has a certain fan base, a fan base that expects that certain 'oomph', a certain tension between the characters, all while sticking to expected stereotypes.

I'm enjoying this series, this book gives you more insight into the characters, I just love Ash but will anything come of his feelings for Lucrezia? I loved this fourth book in the Midnight Dynasty series so much angst, so much tension and steam as well as well developed characters.

Midnight Secrets is the fourth book in the‘Midnight Dynasty’ series and is the start of Ash and Lucrezia’s (aka Lucy’s) story. This is the first book I have read from this author and WOW! what have I been missing? The story is so well written, the plot is intriguing and exciting. Lucy has been in love with Ash for years but Ash has only ever seen her as an extension to his ‘family’ until they meet again for the first time in five years and WHAM! However, he sees her as beautiful and lightness while he is darkness and damaged from his dysfunctional family and past and certainly not good enough for her as he loses everything that he loves and doesn’t want to put her in danger. Ooooohhh, this really is an emotional rollercoaster that keeps the pages turning from start to finish.
This book can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the previous three books in the series (something that I’m going to rectify immediately) and I had no problem picking up the story. The book does end on a bit of a cliffhanger so can’t wait for the next instalment, Midnight Revelations, and the continuation of Ash and Lucy’s story.
A definite must read if you enjoy dark Mafia forbidden romances. An excellent 5 star highly recommended novel.
