Sometimes, Disappointment can lead to Greater Things … and Sometimes, it leads to the Greatest!
A prayer whispered on the Western shores of 19th Century Ireland travels through time and space to land in 21st Century Hollywood, right in the lap of Hollywood location scout Catherine ‘Cat’ Mitchell.
Cat lives a charmed life, with a successful business, a handsome fiancé, money, and friends. But in the blink of an eye, her world goes sideways, leaving her to wonder how everything could go so wrong, so fast. Now Cat must battle her way through disappointment and betrayal as she tries to salvage what is left of her life.
In ways she never could have imagined, Cat’s life becomes interwoven and intertwined with the lives of friends and strangers alike. But time is running out for Cat. Can she set aside her pain and move forward, or will she be trapped in an endless spiral of loss and regret?
Corrine Leau’s style of writing is deep, absorbing and ultimately redeeming. I enjoyed reading it out loud to my wife.
Leau weaves a narrative akin to a colorful patchwork quilt. Each chapter is like a square of the quilt, which is in itself an intricate, original work of art. At first, the chapters seem to stand alone, but as Leau stitches the patches together the reader becomes aware of the thematic design and that the connecting threads are prayers.
The quilt celebrates the humble hearts of everyday prayer warriors who, obedient to the Holy Spirit, project the Lord’s love and protection into others who may merely pass through their lives or exist in future generations.
Ripples demonstrates the true power of prayer; the life changing results of which are rarely made known to the praying person.
What an awesome and fun journey this book is… I’m just saying Jesus is amazing for the gifts he gives his kids… And this woman who wrote ripples is very gifted by God… Through the story the reader has a tremendous potential of learning not only the power of prayer but also the amazing power of Jesus that lives inside of those who follow him… It will make you think about your life and the journeys you’ve had with a new light and new love and appreciation for your daddy in heaven as he guides and directs our very voice… The book was fun and sad and scary and all the things that you would want in a good read… But the extra bonuses… Wow wow wow… I’m not gonna ruin the surprise just open your heart and ask Jesus to plant in it everything you personally need to know and hear through this book… It’s truly a gift from him.
Corrine Leau weaves a story that intertwines the lives of different characters in supernatural ways. I cried (not sad tears), I laughed, I read in awe. There is so much power behind the words and actions read in this and through this story. It’s a book that inspires me, reignites a spark inside me, and spurs me to do more, be more, love more.
I love this book - but then, you'd expect me to say that, being the author and all...
Still - I reread it, or parts of it anyway - about once a week. I just love visiting the characters to see what Miracles are popping up in their lives!
