When a twist of fate gives Troy and Cricket the chance to turn five years of forbidden fantasies into reality, can they forge a happily ever after that will stand the test of time?

* an age gap, marriage of convenience, instalove romance *

TROY

A thirty-nine-year-old man has no business getting involved with a twenty-three-year-old woman. Especially if that woman is his daughter’s best friend. But that’s exactly what I’m doing.

I tell myself I’m marrying Cricket because she needs my help. That I’ll keep her at arm’s length while she’s wearing my ring, then set her free when she doesn’t need my last name and health insurance anymore. My intentions are good. My self-control isn’t.

I want her from the first kiss. I need her from the first touch. I’m going to love her forever, but that’s my problem, because I know I can’t keep her. Too bad letting her go is the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

CRICKET

I fell for Troy Mannington the day I met him. I’ve done everything within reason to tempt my best friend’s dad, but he’s never crossed the line. He wants to, though. I see the desire in his eyes—and in his shorts.

When he offers to marry me, I jump at the chance. Because I need his health insurance, yes. But I need him, too.

Every minute we’re together, we get closer, until there’s no space between us. My five years of fantasies are nothing compared to reality. Our connection is more than physical, it always has been.

Our wedding vows may have been for show, but I meant every word. So did Troy. I just need him to forget about our ages, and focus on our forever.

Sometimes you have to let go of what’s holding you back.

This was my first story by this author and I really liked it. Hopefully the author has more books for me to check out as well! This story was entertaining and enjoyable with a couple of exceptions. The characters were interesting and likable. Troy made me want to smack him upside the head a few times but he wised up. Gina was a wonderful friend to Cricket and a great daughter to Troy. She was very supportive. Cricket had an issue that required her to have health insurance which she didn’t really have. Gina made a suggestion to try to help Cricket and Troy agreed. Cricket and Troy were both excited about getting together for several reasons. There was some drama and angst but it resolved well. I loved their happy ever after although I do wish that there was an epilogue further out, mainly because I’m greedy. I recommend reading this book.

The Love Was Always Real . . .

When Gina’s friend, 23-year-old Cricket, has a health issue, Gina urges her to marry her single dad to be covered by his health insurance. Gina didn’t know that Cricket has had a crush on her dad for 5 years now. So she agrees to the marriage if Troy is willing.

Troy Mannington is 39 years old and agrees to help Cricket out. This will be a marriage of convenience and they will separate once she doesn’t need the help. At least that was the plan. But at their first kiss, he knows he won’t stop loving her, even though he has to let her go. Will she be able to change his mind about this being temporary? Can she convince him they deserve forever?

I feel kind of ambivalent about this story. Cricket is the best friend of Troys daughter. They know each other for five years... They are kind of in love with each other but date other people.... Not my jam personally😉 Cricket has a crappy health insurance but needs medical attention. So Troy marries her but keeps her at arms length. But attraction and love always wins😍😍 Personally wanted to smack Troy quite a few times but in the end he found the right track😅

What lengths would you go to to help your friend? It's easy for, Gina, she is willing to do anything, for her best friend, Cricket. She needs a miracle to solve her problem. Troy, Gina’s dad, after mowing the lawn, talks to his daughter’s best friend, who is on the couch.

All of a sudden, Cricket starts crying. He wants to pull her in for a hug, but he doesn't trust himself. You see when he met her, at eighteen, he fell in love with everything about her. So, he doesn't want to overstep. He tries to find out want is causing her stress.

It is his daughter that appears out of nowhere, making him jump back, out of guilt. She tells him that, Cricket has a lump in her breast, and doesn't have the money, to see a doctor. Her parent's insurance sucks and they’re doing nothing, to help. Even knowing she's has family members, dies young from breast cancer.

Being flip, Gina says too bad, Cricket isn’t younger you could adopt her dad. Not the lines he thinks of, Cricket. You also get, Cricket’s POV finding out she too, has had the hots for, Troy for five years.

What shocks, Troy the most, and he agrees, is that her dad should marry, Cricket. Which she helps plan quickly, at the JPs. Troy buys her a ring, and there will be a honeymoon, kind of. Too funny, but oh so hot! Much more than I was expecting for a short. There was laughter, sex, and serious emotion too.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is another great addition to the multi author, After I Do series. It is a short and sweet romance between Troy and Cricket. These two have kept their feelings hidden for a while. His daughter being her best friend is one major issue. When she needs him, Troy steps up and does as much as he thinks he can for her. He tries to protect her and put her first. Sometimes Cricket gets pushed away for her own good and that is not what she wants. As misguided as Troy might be at times, they do have a future together. Her health figures prominently in the story. It is what brings them together and starts their relationship. It is a sweet story with him thinking to protect her, even from himself. There was always attraction between them that grew into so much more. I enjoyed their story and thought they were a great couple.

4.5 stars. Troy, the male lead, has his daughter whilst in his teens, so he’s only 16 years older than his daughter and her best friend, who are in their early twenties. He and Cricket, the female lead, only met when she was 18 and they were immediately attracted to each other.

When Cricket discovers a medical condition that her parents’ insurance won’t cover, Troy’s daughter suggests they marry so Cricket can use Troy’s insurance. But Cricket wants a real relationship…

This novella is dual POV, well written, and a hot, fast paced, emotionally intense story. I appreciated Cricket’s agency and persistence and that Troy was eventually willing to recognise that she was capable of making decisions around their relationship, that it wasn’t him taking advantage.

An age gap romantics with lots of emotion. Cricket has loved her best friend’s father since she first met him. Now she finds herself getting married to him so she will have medical coverage after she finds a lump in her breast. Troy has felt a connection to Cricket since his daughter brought her home for the first time. Knowing it’s taboo he’s stayed away but now her health is at stake and he’s prepared to do anything to help her, even marry her. This was an awesome addition to the I Do series. Cricket is a strong, independent woman who has been dealt a bad hand. Troy loves Cricket but thinks she needs to find someone her own age and breaks her heart by trying to do the right thing but his protective nature takes over and gives in to wanting to be happy and in love with Cricket. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Troy and Cricket have know each other for a couple years as he is her daughter's best friend. He's 39 to her 23. She's a college student with crappy parents and poor insurance. She has a health scare and they arrange to get married so she can use his health insurance. They both are attracted to one another and have been for years so this arrangement will work out well for them both, until Troy decides that he is too old for her on their honeymoon and wants her to have a good time while they are in Jamaica but with someone else who is more her age.
This was a good book that kept my attention and the couple had chemistry, thoroughly enjoyed it! I liked Troy's daughter Gina, and would like to read her book and follow up with this couple as well.

Cricket's always been in love with her best friend's father. Troy's in love with Cricket, but won't act on his feelings. Cricket has a health crisis and crappy insurance. His daughter suggests a marriage, so Cricket can get the care she needs. They're perfect together, but she wants a real marriage with him, and he wants her to find it with someone closer to her age. I hated that he made a decision for them without talking to her about it. (Must be a man thing!) The road to their happy ending is littered with roadblocks, but they eventually make it, pleasing this hopeless romantic. I enjoyed this book - short, sexy, emotional and so beautiful. What a beautiful love story

I love books that brings out emotions and this book did that for me. Cricket is Troy's daughters best friend, he's always been protective of both girls but felt something more than friendship for Cricket. Her family situation was pretty bad. When he found out cancer runs in her family, and she found a lump in her breast he stepped up to get her medical coverage. Her parents weren't planning on doing anything to help. Read how he helps her, how they get along and how his daughter feels about everything. I laughed how Cricket actually ended up seducing him but cried about her medical situation. It's really a good story. Written by Cindy :)

This was a beautiful love story. Troy was in love with his daughters best friend but would never take his feelings any further. When Cricket needed help with a health crisis he agrees to marry her to help. Their relationship heats up. Their chemistry is hot and steamy. Both are in love with the other but too frightened to say. Troy pushes Cricket away, he thinks it’s what’s best for her. When he realises her health crisis is becoming serious he can’t stay away any longer. Beautiful, sweet, emotional love story with an amazing HEA

Troy knows he shouldn’t have the feelings he has for his daughter’s best friend Cricket, but when she needs help he offers to marry her! He promises himself it’s only until she doesn’t need his help anymore, but can he let her go? Cricket has been in love with Troy since she met him five years ago! When he offers to marry her to help with her insurance she agrees hoping he will admit how he really feels about her!! Can they find their happily ever after? Great book that I would highly recommend!

It all changed with just one kiss

Wedded Miss by Karla Doyle is part of the multi-author After I Do series. This story was interesting as it has a different premise at the start. Sure there is an older man/younger woman and daughter's best friend/best friend's father tropes mixed but then there is the marriage on paper for health insurance which led to something unexpected, but that both longed for. All it took was one kiss and these two are barreling towards a future forever love.

Cricket has been friends with Gina, when she first met her father five years ago, she lost her heart to him. When she finds a lump on her breast her friend comes up with an idea for her to marry her dad for insurance.

Troy believes he is too old for her, but is attracted to her like a moth to a flame. He intends to keep her at arms length. Will he be able to do so?

Not your typical storyline beginning with a health scare, especially with the plan that is devised to help out the main character. I enjoyed this book in many ways that it dealt with a tough subject and had some very understanding and emotional feelings throughout the entire storyline. The ending was perfect as not everything comes up smelling roses, but life and love will get you thru the hard times as well as the good.

Hot enough to make your Kindle sizzle!

I loved Cricket and Troy, they are both so sweet and loving despite their pasts.
Troy may be growly and protective but he is also an expert at dirty talkin', hard loving and worshiping Cricket...body and mind!
He may stumble and have a few 'man moments' but he is truly awesome and here to sweep you off your feet!
I read this on Kindle Unlimited and will be looking for more books by Karla Doyle

Perfect Steamy Instalove

This is great quick instalove romance! I loved seeing Cricket and Troy on their journey to a terrific HEA. The age-gap actually made the love story stronger as an element. This was such a pleasure to read. I laughed and just cheered all the way. The writing, secondary characters, pacing, and ending are very good. This is a keeper!

Troy and Cricket were beautifully written characters.Troy tried for 5 years to fight his attraction to his daughters best friend, things happen and Troy and Cricket end up married. Will they stay that way and will it be a real marriage or just on paper? Read to find out what happens.

Who does not love reading an age gap love story. Especially when they have had feelings for one another and have been hiding it. The need for insurance finally gives Cricket the chance to convince Troy that they belong together.

Why does this author's writing have this affect on me? Ever single book I have read hits me in all the feels and I end up crying multiple times with each story. I have to admit she went way to easy on Troy when he was such a dumb@ss toward the end. There was no grovel really and she was owed one. He broke my heart so he had to have broken hers. But it ended beautifully.
