But his trip to meet his betrothed holds a great surprise.
Lavinia is content being a companion and chaperone to a Viscount’s daughter. She loves the girl greatly and she finds comfort in the isolation of the countryside. After all, an illegitimate baron’s child, like herself, can’t hope for much.
But Lavinia’s peace ends when she finds out that her mistress is about to marry the man that she abandoned eight years ago.
And being under the same roof with him is unbearable.
While Jonathan is ready to defy all rules to be with the woman he truly loves, his heart breaks for a second time. For Lavinia would never betray her mistress’ trust.
And only a miracle could bring them together again…
Rules want them apart, yet fate brings them under the same roof…

This is a very good story written by this author and it is the second book by her that I have read. The story is about a noble and illegitimate daughter of a baron loving each other but apart for eight years but then he is to marry the young woman that she is a companion. The characters are strong and emotional The extended epilogue completes the story with everyone in love nd happy A very enjoyable story
Chasing the Chaperone is a must read. I really love Ms. Ross 's style of writing. Her characters are so lifelike and you feel their pain and struggles. Lavinia and Jonathan's trials are not the command Regency trials. You will become engrossed in their circumstances. Enjoy!
