After my dreams of becoming a teacher were finally a reality, life had thrown me into the powerful current of adulthood. Marriage was the norm Transferring jobs occurred. New adventures were thrown at me. Family and friends came and went from my life. All of it affected me, shaped me, tossed me around like a little boat in a raging storm. Then, I was diagnosed with lupus, changing how I lived in addition to what I lived. Life became more precious to me, but at the same time, I felt it pushed me under.
Welcome to your late twenties and early thirties. Life doesn’t go as planned, but you have to sail on toward the horizon. In this collection, I explore more mature themes, dealing with trying to hold on to your happy youth while wading through the darkness that is always there, such as confusion, loneliness, stress, violence, and even death. Still, despite these topics, I look for the lighthouse, the beacon of hope to continue on, all through poems, short stories, children stories (about my cat and grandma), and other literary works. With the power of writing and creativity fueling me, I was able to stay afloat in light.
Exclusive to this collection also is my new adult novella, Dreaming For You, following the story of Frankie Ragner, a former teenage Hollywood heartthrob that wants to better himself by being a producer, despite his addictions that have been forced upon him since youth. His only salvation when he sinks into his transgressions is his dreams, a lovely maiden visiting him in different forms when he’s at his worst. She gives him everything he desires, but she’s only a dream too good to be real. Still, if someone gives you such a vision, shouldn’t you chase it?
Endless Silver Ocean has tales for the young and young at heart, mature and impactful reading, all through poems and stories that I wrote from personal struggles, this work the most revealing about who I am as a person. Even when waves are choppy and cruel, I look to my words, my stars, to conquer this endless silver ocean.
Welcome to my Goodreads page! I am YA and new adult author. My first series, "Spirit Vision," is a paranormal/mystery/romance and currently has three books in the series (more to come someday).
Under my own imprint, "What If...Publishing," I have my new adult works (17+.) My first series in this is my "The Hunter and The Bringer series," a sarcastic toned work about two rivaling top agents from two conflicting groups of monster hunters that have to work together. There are two books in the main series and a short story/fan book collection for it too.
I also have three short story and poetry collections out: "A Sweet, Little Dream," "Fallen Star Dust," and "Endless Silver Ocean," the latest having an exclusive 200+ page novella at the end of it (this one is also new adult.)
*You can find my books on Amazon, IBooks, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble (online), BAM (online, Kobo, and other retailers.
If you notice my book list, you will see I love to read. I struggled with reading in elementary school, even having to go to a special after school program. Everyone was so nice and I enjoyed it. I still did not LOVE reading until high school, my 11th grade year, with the help of 2 wonderful authors: Lurlene McDaniel and Stephanie Meyer. The rest was history! And Rick Riordan is my favorite writer that transport me to another world through his sassy, modern characters. To all of the authors, thank you so much for helping me enter a magical world of page turning, cover holding, and character adoring...along with taking my money away, HA! I also started enjoying manga my 9th grade year and I think this made me more open to giving books a true chance. This thanks goes to CLAMP! I love manga to pieces. It and Japanese culture have changed how I see the world and affects how I write in a magical way. I also have made everlasting friendships and experiences due to being a proud Otaku!
OH! I did go to college and I do have a degree in Early Childhood education. I have been the head elementary teacher at my Alternative school for six years now (all my kids in the foster care system), am the founder and sensei of my local high school's anime club, and the Sunday school teacher for my church.
I also have lupus and hemophilia, which affect my life, time, and health greatly. But it also inspires me to see how precious life is and push forward. ^_^ If anyone is suffering through an autoimmune disease, bleeding disorder, anxiety, or other sickness or hardships, I understand and am here.
