WELCOME TO ST. VICTORIA'S 21st ANNUAL INITIATION NIGHT.

A corrupted ceremony where the cheerleading and hockey teams pledged their allegiance to a secret circle of elite students.

A game of debauchery on the grounds of a haunted convent turned high school, filled with dares and a hearty dose of wickedness.

A night for saints to witness the morally depraved waltzing with their demons in the confinements of St. Victoria’s secret-riddled walls.

ELLA

Eighteen. Cheerleader. South Side's Princess.

A good girl was what they called me.

But I was bad to the bone.

And there was only one boy who knew how to bring out the rebel in me.

Too bad he had to go ahead and break my heart.

Too bad I got paired with him for Initiation Night.

Cade Killian Remington, with his beautiful blue eyes, bad boy aura and sinful touch, was the bane of my existence.

CADE

Eighteen. Hockey Player. South Side's Princepin.

Two years ago, I traded my cards for new ones and landed at St. Victoria, where I met the girl of my dreams.

I may have Remington blood coursing through my veins, but I was no fool. St. Victorians still saw me as trash.

Everyone except for one girl.

Ella Ximena Cordova, with her flawed gaze and playful grin, was branded inside of me.

Too bad she now hated my fucking guts.

Too bad I broke her heart one fateful night three months ago.

And now we were trapped together in our very own nightmare.

Looks like it's just you and I in this hellhole, sweetheart.

GUYSSS I am so excited for this book! Literally read this book back in the day on wattpad and this author became one of my favorites. Love her characters and her stories! Can't wait to read the new published version!!! Can October come any sooner???

Final Review:

This seems like a totally surreal moment to be reviewing the finished published version of this book when 14 year old me read the very first draft of it on wattpad so many years ago. I was kindly given an ARC copy of this book (which, thank you so much Marzy I literally fangirled when the book arrived on my kindle) and to say that I was glued to the story from the very first page is an understatement.

This story is about two once hopelessly in love exes Cade and Ella and how one night traps them together to face their demons once and for all. I loved the tension of the two exes (who are obviously still so in love) being stuck together, and nobody writes tension between characters like Marzy. I LOVED the flashback scenes, they were some of my favorites, and the chemistry between the two lovers was unreal. Cade and Ella were unstoppable in their love for each other and it drove the story so well. They complete each other and their craziness together honestly gave me Bonnie and Clyde vibes.

"What was it about the dark that made it so much easier to confess our secrets? Was it the reassurance that if you could not be seen, you could not be judged?"

Don't even get me started on the mentions of characters that we will no doubt have books about in the future. I think Marzy has such a talent for weaving in other characters and their possible storylines into her books. It leaves you wanting more from the world that the books are set in and I need all the books now! *grabby hands* I have read every single book this author has posted on wattpad and so the little mention of Nate (squeals), Jared (swoons), and SAM (faints) had me smiling so big I couldn't contain my happiness.

Like I said before, I read the first draft of this YEARS ago on wattpad but I still remembered little bits and pieces. I love how the world of the characters expanded in this new version. I also loved getting to know more about the characters and their backstories.

"Please don't make me live without you."

Even though I read the wattpad version of this book back in the day, I still FORGOT the huge plot twist at the end so I was SHOCKED. But I loved it and I loved the chaotic way Cade and Ella dealt with their enemies. They are true bad asses.

I am so thankful I got to read this book and I am so excited for all the future books Marzy will write in the future! :)

TRAPPED WITH YOU - 5/5
second chance romance
high school romance
friends to lovers
enemies to lovers
forced proximity
lowkey dark romance
angst
jealousy
it's always only ever been you trope
i hate you but i love you more trope

I'm going to start off this review by just saying how privileged and happy I am that I was able to read the advanced readers copy for Trapped With You. I've been familiar with this book since it was published on wattpad all those years ago (currently published as Trapped with an Arrogant Badass on wattpad). Introduced to me by my sister, it easily became one of my favourite books. Then, I discovered more of Marzy's books and its safe to say she easily became one of my favourite wattpad authors. Its always been on my lists and i've always recommended it people whenever they as for a great wattpad book so the fact that i'm sitting here, writing a review for the official published version makes my teenage self scream with excitement and delight.

Now, about the book. This review will be spoiler free, so I wont give away too much details so the surprise element is there for old readers (because trust me, you will be surprised as hell) and it doesn't ruin the spark for new readers. That being said, if there is something I feel like will spoil the book, I will have it highlighted.

Now, heres the good part you've been (hopefully) waiting for: the review.

"I only feel alive when I'm with you, Ella. Don't make me live without you anymore."

Trapped With You is a sexy, second chance romance that focuses on our two leads, Ella Ximena Cordova and Cade Killian Remington. It's based in the 'haunted' walls of St. Victoria - a convent turned into a high school - where they are paired to complete a set of dares for the infamous Initiation Night.

Initiation Night was one of the few differences between TWY and the original book and I have to say, it was a well made decision. It's so new, so dark, so well thought out and so interesting, it easily became a great addition to the storyline. In this version, the things that panned out between Ella and Cade was more adventurous and more engaging. Reading them go from place to place, solving riddles just gave the book more quality and also tied the forced proximity element to it better. They had to be together - for the sake of pride and completing the initiation night, even though we all know that they wanted to be exactly there, beside each other (even if Ella refused to acknowledge and admit it).

The way this book was written was also a surprise to me. A very nice surprise. I enjoyed that the chapters set in a now and then format. The flashbacks were some of my favourite chapters. It gave you the missing pieces of their past, the friends to lovers dynamic and just allowed you to understand everything so much more better as they filtered through the present, dealing with their demons and regrets.

One of the many things I love about this book is how grown up and developed it is. I have to say (and I've been saying this all day to basically everyone who would hear it) that if I didn't know this book was started on Wattpad all those years ago, I would have never guessed. Honestly, the writing, the plot, the style of this book is on the same level as a few of my favourite authors and had I not been familiar with Marzy and her books, I would be SCOURING the internet for more published work. There is a lot of stigma around wattpad books becoming published books and I just want to say, please don't let it deter you from this book. It is so worth the read and I promise, you will enjoy every page, every moment of it.

Now, onto our characters:

I have to also say, the fact that TWY is duo pov, gives it all the five stars in the world. Experiencing this story through both lead characters is such an emotional whirlwind, one that I absolutely love. Reading through Ella (who is a beautifully strong, boss bitch female character who knows what she wants and makes everyone else know it too) allowed me to see her growth, thoughts, feelings, the way she copes and just how much she deals with everything like its nothing.

That night, I changed his name in my phone to Mine

"Kiss me like the possessive girl who told her whole squad they couldn't make a pass at me."

I have to say, Ella is not perfect. She is amazing but she carries around her flaws and I think that's one of the best things I love about her. She knows that she isn't everything. She knows as a young eighteen year old girl, she has personality characteristics/traits that are not the best in situations and sometimes get the better of her but you see her grow and develop in a way that not many authors actually address and tackle in their books. Ella, as a person, wants to grow and it shows and I love it.

"Thank you for loving my imperfect parts."

Reading through Cade, well that showed me how strong a person he is. He has the whole 'bad boy' exterior going for him but behind closed doors with the people he loves, he is so much more than that and it's a softness I loved reading about. It also showed how hopelessly in love he is with our Ella. I swear, the man is the epitome of a simp if I've ever seen one and of course, that just made me love him all the more.

Cade was a gentle soul with a lone wolf spirit.

Ella Ximena Cordova, my first and forever love.

As a couple, Cade and Ella (or rather Killian and Ximena, if you will) are one of the hottest couples I have ever read. There is so much tension between them, you can feel it through the pages. The fact that Ella is a secret rebellion to her good girl persona makes them all the more hotter as they let out their alter ego's with fun, crazy and wild nights together. They were good, they were bad and they were everything in between.

There were a few twists and turns this book took that I just never saw coming. Shock and surprise was something that was rather common for me towards the last sixty percent or so of the book. Tears were also resulted from this book. I knew it was going to hurt, I knew it was going to ruin me and I let it anyway with no regrets. Some parts were definite tear jerkers for me but that might just be because I am the most sensitive person in the world. I kept a little reading (spoiler free) thread as I went through TWY so if you want to gain an insight to how I was feeling throughout, feel free to check it out here: https://twitter.com/joannareads_/stat...

One thing I have to mention her is the quotes. I swear to God, I have highlighted practically the entire book because the conversation between Cade and Ella is fucking amazing. Not only do they have such great and insightful inner monologues, the banter, quips, constant back and forth, and the love between these two is so fucking great. Hand on heart, I just loved reading these two together.

“That was reckless of you.”
“Thought you liked rebellious behaviour?”
“Not when it means losing you…when I’ve just found you.”

Now, if you are familiar with Marzy's book, you'll know she has a whole universe of characters. So of course, it will be bad fashioned of me if I don't mention them. To Sam, the love of my life, it was a pleasure meeting the younger version of you in this book and the small hint towards the beginning of your relationship with Anna (Everything we Ever Wanted on wattpad if you want to give it a read - I definitely think you should). To Nate and Nico, I can never get enough of you both and I lap up these breadcrumbs like my life depends on it. It was so lovely seeing their friendship with Cade in a better light and here is to hoping for more of them. To Jared, who was presented in a different way that I was originally introduced to, a story that I cant wait to hopefully explore more of in the future. And finally, to my boy Trent who had a brief mention that I have definitely highlighted and not let pass by me. I can't wait to see them all (and so many more) in future books to come.

Honestly, I could talk about this book for pages and pages but I feel like (and very much hope) I have given enough for you to encourage you to purchase the book yourself. I really love everything about this book and I honestly could not recommend it enough. It really is so worth it.

Him and me. Always. And that would never change.

"There's no end for us, Ella. You're trapped with me. Forever."

Trapped With You was so much fun! I usually don't read high school romances with smut lol, but Ellie recommended Marzy Opal's books to me, and Marzy was so kind to send me both her books. I decided to start with Trapped With You, because Ellie told me I should lmao. And omg? This book is so addicting, entertaining and FUN. I had such a great time reading it, couldn't stop even if it was 2 am already and I had to work tomorrow. I had to know all the things!!!

The heroine reminded me of Blair Waldorf: she's rich, an heiress, and has a little bit of a bad side when she pretends to be a nice girl. Ella and Cade scheme and get revenge on their enemies and so many things. They're wild for 18yos. But Gossip Girl was the same and tbh this book reminded me a bit of the show (which I love!).

So, you'll find two exes who hate each other who end up pairing up in this Halloween treasure hunt the cheerleading and hockey team do together every year. Ella loathes Cade and has her reasons after they broke up. But you also get the "before" chapters and ELLA AND CADE ARE SOULMATES!!! From the very first moment Cade sees Ella, Cupid did his job. That was it for him. She was the one for him and he will never stop loving her. The "it has always been you" trope is very present in this book.

I'm definitely going to read Corrupted by You! It has older characters which perfect lmao Ellie told me to read this one first and I'm glad bc you do meet the heroine of book 2 in this one, Darla. She's Ella's childhood best friend and she's going to have a marriage of convenience/arranged marriage with a mafia guy in her own book. So, maybe I'm going to see Ella and Cada in the other book older with kids maybe??? SCREAMS HOPEFULLY THEY'RE THERE. I mean, Ella and Darla are besties now.

This is a messy fun book, I want you to know this before you start (if you do end up reading it). So many things happen in this book, I could't believe it lmao. Think Gossip Girl and all the messy shit that happened in the show and keep that in mind for this book.

It Had Potential But Fell Flat

1.75/5 + 1⭐ for the smut → 2.75/5

The first 50% of this book was pretty good for a debut novel. Unfortunately, as I kept reading, my interest in the characters and their story faded.

The pace was quite off. Some parts moved too fast while others moved too slow.

The way this book was written, I thought that it was part of an interconnected standalone series. But then I found out that it's a debut novel and I was very confused. I felt like the author wrote this book without realizing that the reader doesn't know this universe like they do.

For example, the way side characters are just there and it's as if we, the readers, are just supposed to "know" who is with whom.

I also found that this book has some unnecessary parts while also missing chapters that would have significantly improved the book overall. There wasn't enough grovelling/conflict resolution. The conflict itself was poorly executed (miscommunication trope + lie by omission trope). AND the story didn't deliver on the "darkness" that was promised.

I get that they're high schoolers but it was a bit too immature for my liking.

ALSO, this book is supposed to be set in Canada but the ages, phrases/terms, and general vibe are very American.

I think this author has potential but they need better beta readers to help them consolidate and deliver all the information that's in their head for this universe.

Smut was 10000000/10. Very well-written.

Edit: I should probably give this a higher rating for the smut. I mean, I've gone back to read it at least a dozen times 😅

This is my very first read from this author and I’ll say, I’m pretty impressed. After writing this review I’ll definitely check out her other books and will certainly be reading more from her. Granted, there were things in this book I didn’t quite like, yet the things that I did like more than makes up for the little I didn’t, so it’s all good in the hood.

Ella is such a badass, strong character and I love how well she carries herself. She’s pretty awesome, even though she can be clueless when it comes to the true nature of some of her close friends (namely Callie — ugh I hated her with a passion). I also felt for her, for the things she went through and I could understand the reasons behind some of her actions, even though they could be kinda rash. I also love how she can take care of herself, even though she has a protective and loving man behind her ready to fight for and with her.

Cade is definitely up there when it comes to amazeballs book boyfriends. I love how obsessed he is with Ella, and gave her his whole self even when she hurt him. I’m so sick and tired of all these Heroes in books whoring around when he and the heroine have some separation, but Cade? Nah, my man stayed loyal and was a complete simp for my girl Ella, even during their entire separation. He just didn’t want anyone else. And I LOVED him for that. I seriously adore this man, I’m not even joking. The only thing I would’ve preferred was that he didn’t lose his virginity to that bitch Callie, and would’ve preferred Ella to have been his first. But well, he wasn’t Ella’s first either and she even had sex more than he did (he only had sex once and it was a drunken one night stand, whereas Ella has sex four times) — and can I just say? THAT WAS REFRESHING AS HELL. I love it when authors don’t go the double standards route when it comes to her H and h and allows the h to be more sexually experienced than the H. And just for that actually, I gave this this book an extra .25 oomph. Lol kudos to the author for that little treat.

Anyway, I don’t wanna give any more spoilers than that so that but I will say, this book was definitely worth the read. The side characters are also interesting and would want to read their own respective stories if ever there are.

Safety Gang:
TW: miscarriage (through flashbacks), H was roofied and set up by a teammate of his who likes the h, he makes out with OW thinking it was his gf (the h) but he doesn’t end up sleeping with the OW because h walks in on them in his room and thinks he was cheating on her which caused them to break up for 3 months
Safe sex: condoms were used, except at the end
No virgins; H only had one drunken sex before h (he lost his virginity to the h’s “best friend” before meeting the h), h slightly more sexually experienced than H but not by much
No sex scenes with other people (H just makes out with OW thinking it was the h when he was drugged)
No cheating
The MC’s were separated for three months after they broke up at the beginning, but both were celibate during those months

***CONTAINS MINOR SPOILERS****

This is my first review on GoodReads and I think its truly very fitting that I'm reviewing TWY.

One of the first books I ever read on Wattpad was Trapped with an Arrogant Bad Ass. The year was 2014 and the book was marked as complete on my Wattpad app. So I simply HAD to read it.

Now flashforward 7 years – and I not only have read the re write, I ALPHA READ IT. please ignore the crying 20 year old in the background.

The way I know this author has a gift, is that she made me – an otherwise frustrated pessimist in love at age 13, into a hopeless romantic. How did she do this? All with the simple strokes of her keyboard when writing books.

The book is not out to the public just yet, but allow me to tell you why you SHOULD go buy this book.

In general, I am a terribly picky person when it comes to books. I read reviews like a madwoman, I check the tags and ENSURE that they have happy endings, because let’s be honest; if you wanted to be depressed you would simply turn on the news. I can say from the bottom of my SOUL, that there is only ONE author is this world that I have appreciated every single book from. And that so happens to be Ms. Marzy Opal.

I can’t tell you if it’s the way her male characters make me swoon, the way her female characters make me proud and scream “YES BABY. GET IT” at my screen or just the general BEAUTY that is Marzy Opals writing, and her positive and energetic personality. I have had a specific joy in watching her writing prosper and grow in the past 7 years. All from a Wattpad account to published author.

I have been WAITING for this rewrite since last year when she announced it. I loved the original – although it was written by a then-teenager and had some parts that made you cringe (no but seriously, let's talk about Wattpad ca 2014 lol)– it was the beginning of my love for young adult and New adult books.

Now let’s get to the best part; the book.

The book itself is set in 2014, where we meet 18-year-old Ella Ximena Cordova and Cade Killian Remington.

Their high school St. Victoria is basically a motherhouse that was converted into a high school and is rumored to be haunted. This really hyped up the vibe of the book and gave a dark angsty chill over the book.

The story takes places on St. Victoria’s 21st Annual Initiation Night. A ceremony where the cheerleading team and hockey team pledge their allegiance to the secret circle.

Cade and Ella are partnered up,

The development of Cade and Ella’s relationship, both in the flashbacks provided and current time is truly one of the biggest reasons why I love this book.

“He was my beginning, my middle and my ending”

The way the characters grow and flourish is something I rarely see in books. Her characters are flawed with the intention to show growth. Because let’s be honest. NO teenager is perfect or perfectly logical.

“She was meant to be my fucking soulmate”

All the beauty and poetry aside let’s talk SMUUUUTTTT.

I am an absolute SUCKER for good banter between the characters. And that is one thing this book DOES. NOT. LACK. My baby Cade has made me blush more than once and Ella has made me snort of laughter more times than I’d like to admit.

Marzy always has this way of surprising me with her male characters. I have gasped more times than once and absolutely had to close my computer to gather my loin- I mean head.

"Split on my dick and bounce that pussy like the bad girl you are, Princess."

She def managed to ruin a few nights for me, whilst I was up dreaming of the man that is the dirty talking, ass smacking, and pussy throbbing Cade Killian Remington. And he is only the beginning of her MCCs and FMC that make me cry, laugh and salivate over. (HARD caps on the salivate part)

"Your punishment isn't over yet, Rich Girl."

And ELLAAAA with her sharp remarks, dirty comments and all in all STRONG INDEPENDENT BAD B VIBES – made this book all the more interesting to read. She was like a breath of fresh air. The internal dialogue makes everything feel so much more heightened and my heart broke several times for the two. There were definitely several places where I spammed Marzy’s DM’s with videos of me bawling my eyes out on her utter audacity to make me cry like that. (I would feel sorry for Marzy, but she still hasn't blocked me, so I'm assuming it's fine. )

"I couldn’t have known then that Ella Ximena Cordova would be the first girl I’d ever love.
Or that she’d be the first one to rip out my heart."

Through out the book we also receive several easter eggs for the future books in not only this series but another. I personally can’t wait for Darla´s story! (or you know, all of them - but I'm keeping my obsessed fan behaviour to a minimum as of now.)

Now, ladies and gentlemen, I could go on and on and on with all the amazing things about this book – but it would be a lot easier for you to just go and buy it at your local amazon ;)

I'm gonna go drool in my sleep over Cade Killian Remington until then <3

Okay so normally I don't leave a review for these books because I know what I'm getting into when I pick them up (as in: no plot, weird characters, and pretty much just smut) BUT this book took place on the "Canadian West Coast" which just happens to be my life long home so I need to pick apart the setting.

Where to start? First, the author knows nothing about the west coast AT ALL. The main character is on a cheer team. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CHEER TEAM IN MY LIFE HERE! I'm pretty sure there isn't a single high school in the lower mainland that has a cheer team. I get that being a cheerleader is the mark of "popularity" in the states and tends to be used a lot in fiction but, to the best of my knowledge, that is not the case in Canada. I could maybe excuse the author for being ignorant on this, but NO! SHE IS CANADIAN HERSELF! Seriously, Marzy, where the hell are you from? Do you have cheerleaders in Ontario or something? East Coast? I'm so confused!

Also, how does one cheer at a hockey game? Like, do you do a flip on the ice and break your neck? I grew up watching hockey and I have never seen a game where a team has "professional cheerleaders" in the stands. Furthermore, hockey isn't even as big of a deal here on the coast. If this novel took place in ANY other province I could understand but we barely even get snow in the winter here and most of the hockey is community leagues. My high school might have had a team but I can honestly say that I don't think anyone but the players on the team cared.

Also, in terms of the private school being attended by all the "wealthiest" kids whose families have been living in the area for decades and own massive monopolies.... highly unrealistic. Most of the super rich in Vancouver recently moved here or are first generation. The city is barely 100 years old and didn't rapidly expand till the 70s. Same goes with every other city in the area. We just don't have "old money" on the West coast with families who have been living here for 100 years. Not to mention a chunk of the wealth comes from international immigration, so WHY WERE MOST OF YOUR CHARACTERS WHITE? The lower mainland is like 40% asian so this isn't even one of those instances where you can make excuses like "But I'm trying to be accurate", YOU AREN'T!

Look, the book wasn't terrible, I just think if you are going to select a setting you should make it accurate you know?

Okay my rant is over.

5/5⭐️

i’m so obsessed with this book rn, i can’t stop thinking about it. i loved it SOOOO much. Cade and Ella are literal soulmates. their chemistry was off the charts and you could definitely feel their love for one another. i read this book in one sitting and NEVER once got bored.

do you ever stalk author’s social media after you finish their book? cuz that’s what i did and learned that she has more books on her wattpad that might be released this year. i’m so freaking excited for those books because just with this one book Marzy Opal became one of my favourite authors. i really wanna read more about the side characters in this book.

also the smut??? it was freaking perfect. PERFECT. sometimes i get bored when i read smut with all the dirty talk but i enjoyed every single of it in this book. the dynamic between Cade and Ella was perfect. i literally loved this book so much. and even though the year just started, this book might easily end up being one of my favs for this year

second chance romance is one of favourite tropes and this one takes the crown

This had so many tropes I hate, but the author did them so well

𝓺𝓾𝓲𝓬𝓴 𝓼𝓾𝓶𝓶𝓪𝓻𝔂
Three months after catching her boyfriend cheating on her, Ella is forced to team up with him for her schools Initiation Night. Having decide to just win the competition and move on, things become a little more complicated when what she thought to be true, she’s learning may not be the case.

𝓶𝔂 𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓾𝓰𝓱𝓽𝓼
Tropes I hate but this book had and did well:
-Miscommunication
-Second-chance romance
-High-school setting
-Dual timeline

Honestly when a book can make you enjoy, not one, but several tropes you don’t like, you know means something. This story, while over the top, dramatic, sometimes cringy with the nicknames used, still delivered a really fun and steamy story that I couldn’t put down. Proven by the fact I finished this in one day.

The main reason why so many of these tropes worked in this dual is because we had dual POV, so rather then be stuck in a miscommunication situation where we have only her POV and we’re just as confused, we knew what actually happened so for me it was easier to digest.

Ella was a BADASS, she was possessive and jealous and had no shame in the way she loved her man. Cade was had a bad boy front but in reality would do absolutely anything to not only protect, but make his girl happy.

This book was also set in Canada, which right there gives you at least 3 stars; I am very bias.

I came across this book on Instagram in one of the reels made by the author and I liked it, so I was like why not give this book a shot. so this book did not disappoint plotwise, but the particular scene because of which I decided to read the book was not like how I imagined it to be **frustrated sign**

ANYWAYS, the plot is interesting and especially the second half with all the secrets being revealed, revenge being taken, the catfight, drama, it was good. I like stories where there is a H who has a dark side to it and walls as high as the Great Canyon but there is only that one girl who can get through it. In a way its cute.

Callie was the devil, who appeared to be the sweet shy girl, but she was THE manipulator and created so much mess. But hats off to her brain, I mean the way she planned everything and no one knew about it until the big night. I also felt a little bad for how she was exposed by what she wrote in her own god damn dairy( now in no way am I saying that she didn't deserve what happened to her but I too have a dairy and it scary that one day someone is going to steal and and reveal all my secrets, though I promise I'm not evil, which Callie was)

so in all, I would say this story was intense, spicy with lots of drama and if you like books with high school drama you'll probably like it.

Wow… finally read Marzy’s book and I am freaking obsessed. The writing was sooo good and addicting and I finished this so fast. Cade and Ella’s story was so intriguing and it made you want to keep reading. Their connection and bond was undeniable and Cade was so so sweet, my hearttttt 🥺

The way that they are both so obsessed with each other and so consumed by one another was so fun to read about. Cade went through so much but he still has the kindest heart and how he was with Olivia was the cutest thing everrrrr!! I am so happy he got placed in a household where they accept him for who he is. Also that mouth on Cade though 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

Ella was such a strong character and it was a breath of fresh air because she immediately showed Cade how much she wanted him

Definitely became one of my favorite second chance romance books. Towards the end, soooo much was happening and there were so many plots and twists that I did not expect at all. Some scenes kinda gave me Joker and Harley Quinn vibes 👀

Trapped with You is the debut self-published novel by the talented Marzy Opal. I had the pleasure of alpha reading this novel, but even if I hadn’t, I would still say that this book is one of the best romances I’ve read this year (and I’ve read A LOT)! Second chance romance always gets me hype and Trapped with You will exceed your expectations! If you like your bad boys with a heart of gold and badass heroines who know their worth then this is the book for you!

Trapped with You is about a couple, Cade and Ella, who truly come into themselves once they get together. Coming together for the couple isn’t the hard part, the hard part is staying together. Jealousy, lies, secrets, and all the major high school bs threatens this couple’s chance at a happily ever after. Together this couple is on fire, they give into their shadow selves and their perfect match accepts the other for who they are. But when they’re apart, it’s that same fire that creates all the angst necessary for a second chance romance.

“You tormented me. Made me live without my heart. And now I want to fucking punish you for it."

Trapped with You has all the major requirements for a second chance romance. Flashbacks to before everything was ruined when the couple is still in the honeymoon phase (Cade and Ella’s honeymoon phase is downright dirty),

“You’re a goddamn brat, Ellie. Who would have known South Side’s spoiled princess could be tamed with a good tongue-fucking?” I goaded, spitting on her pussy before I slapped it."

A sizzling attraction that hasn’t gone away even though the couple is not together, major character development while the main couple is apart, major gut-wrenching heart to heart moments, a rebuilding of what once was lost, and a real commitment for starting over.

We set the scene on October 18, 2014, where students break into campus to participate in a game called "Initiation Night" - a night filled with wickedness, dares, and secrets. At St. Victoria, a haunted convent turned high school where our story takes place, this age-old tradition calls the cheerleading and hockey teams to get together to pledge their allegiance to a secret circle of elite students. Minor Spoiler: Ella and Cade get paired up! Ghosts will come to the light, and I’m not just talking about the ones that haunt the school. Cade and Ella can’t escape from the past that once broke them. Our main couple is forced back together after a life altering breakup. The truth always comes out but is this couple ready for what is about to be revealed during Initiation Night?

Readers will be at the edge of their seats while the couple fights their attraction when they’re apart while working together to win this game. It’s a constant push and pull of not giving into the desires of being with the one who understands you the most.

The flashback scenes showcase this couple’s explosive chemistry and the night where everything went wrong, while the present scenes showcase this couple’s deep agony and longing for what once was. Marzy Opal has a unique ability to create well rounded characters that you want to root for, both as a couple and individually. Trapped with You has pining, angst, secrets, and a passionate love like no other! As a reader you’ll be wishing for a dirty talking Cade Killian Remington of your very own (but back off ladies and germs, South Side's Princess knows how to fight and she’s pretty mean with a bat). Once you start this novel you won’t be able to put it down.

Fair warning, this couple gives mild Bonnie & Clyde, Harley Quinn & Joker vibes - they're a little brazy like that but so much fun! One of my favorite scenes is a flashback scene where our favorite couple goes on a little revenge spree! They get back at ex’s, engage in a B&E, and even vandalize some property! Just to end the night with a steamy sexy scene!! I will never be able to look at orange lollipops or ski masks the same way again!

This book was so good!!! I absolutely adored the characters, the vibes, and the cover is amazing!

Trapped With You a second chance, forced proximity, enemies to lovers romance. It is the story of two exes, Cade and Ella, who get trapped together one night. This proximity forces them to address their conflict.

I can’t even begin to express how much I loved these characters in all of their flawed, chaotic beauty. Cade and Ella are so well developed and the smallest things about them are mentioned. Marzy Opal has done a fabulous job creating in-depth characters you can’t help, but love.

Let's talk about the structure of this book. It’s told from both Cade and Ella’s POVs and has a then and now format which really helps the reader get a better understanding of these characters and their past.

I loved everything about this book and can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy of this beauty!

i... just... wtf was this book LMFAO

its literally a wattpad book except it includes all the bad parts

the overexaggerating:

'his blue ORBS'
'i fall for the BAD BOYS, the BROKEN ONES'
'smirking' 'growling'

cade was a stereotypical 'bad boy', and ella was just meh. so many authors try to make a strong female lead and i'm into that but like opal was trying wayy too hard.

also hate it when the author mentions the male lead is a bad boy every chapter at least once.

the unnecessary use of spanish in the book was also very cringe

A second chance romance that’s a little dark with a sorta bad girl x bad boy dynamic set in a creepy school setting?? What more do you want?

Trapped With You is about Cade and Ella, who have broken up 3 months ago and are unfortunately (for them) partnered up for this tradition at their school where they break in at night and do dares and other wild stuff.

St. Victoria, a church turned school was actually a really cool setting and really portrayed the vibe of the story I think. It was creepy and really unique.

Also I liked the idea of Initiation Night, the tradition where they do dares amongst other things at school. Although I wish it got a bit more wild because I thought it was a bit tame but oh well hehe

NOW, Cade and Ella were everything to me. Their dynamic in the flashbacks and in the present were >>>> I loved how the flashbacks told their story and pieced the past together while in the present, we see them sorting through their past and trying to move on. I don’t even have words for it. And their tension???? They served second chance romance so well with longing hidden underneath resentment and misunderstandings

Cade’s inner monologue was just simping for Ella and honestly, as he should. I love how shy he was despite the bad boy exterior, oh my god he was so soft and the way he loves Ella was immaculate. And I loved how Ella was secretly a bad girl with her good girl exterior. We love a couple who can do both. Also that scene where they beat up that one guy together was so??? A power couple. They’re so perfect for each other I love them so much <3

There were also so many twists I honestly didn’t see coming?? Honestly it was a wild ride, that’s all I’m gonna say. Ella was a badass at the end. The book was so entertaining to read, I read it in a day. The only thing I didn’t like was Cade calling Ella “baby girl” sometimes but that’s just me LMAO and I kinda wish their break was longer than 3 months so they could grow more?? But that's just minor details.

And I can’t finish this review without mentioning the absolute loves of my life: Nate, Nico and Sam. Yeah, I’d die for them. I really liked the cameos of other characters we’ll hopefully be seeing in the future.

“You’re a little crazy, Ella.”

“I think you like my type of crazy, querido.”

There’s so much I could say about this story but then, I’d be writing a novel myself because it’s just THAT spectacular! When I first read this story about three years ago via Wattpad, I fell in love. It wasn’t just the plot itself but also the characters and the universe in which Marzy created. This published version is a revamp of the Wattpad edition and honestly, I never thought anything could top the original but here is Marzy, proving me wrong. Cade and Ella are such a beautifully chaotic couple. The modern day Bonnie and Clyde. Their love story is one that has stuck with me for a long time and I find myself thinking about it often. I’m so pleased with this finished piece and the wait the last year or so has been worth it in the long run. Thank you, Marzy for this steamy, dark, angsty, beautiful story. Now all I need is a physical copy of this story to add to my collection.

This. Was. So. Fucking. Good. Where the hell did you come from? I did not expect to love this as much as I did. Cute ass hero who can dirty-talk you to death? Check. Psychotic bad girl heroine who's not afraid to get her hands dirty? Check and hells yeah. Lovable side characters? Bingo. This book had everything I needed at the moment. lately I've been straying away from angsty romances cause they started to bore me but this was anything but boring.

Cade was amazing but why did I fall so hard for Ella? There's something about the unapologetic bitchy characters that just make me fall in love with them. I loved these two and I especially loved their commitment, or should I say possessiveness, when it came to the other.

This was such a fun read for me I'm so glad I picked it up.

The book is about two misfits that somehow find each other and end up being perfect together.
The author did an amazing job portraying the different ages and mindsets of the characters. I loved to see the love and adoration Cade has for Ella, especially since he has such a hardass exterior. I also loved that Ella is a feminist and always stands up for what she believes in.
It's such a feel good story that couldn't put down. I loved this book so much, that I was a little sad when it ended.

Was going to read this, but then I read this sentence in the prologue,
“I couldn’t have known then that Ella Ximena Cordova would be the first girl I’d ever love. Or that she’d be the first one to rip out my heart.”

And lost all interest.

First girl he would ever love, or the first girl to break his heart. That means he fell in love more than once in his life? Not very HEA.

Umm, no thank u. This book wasn’t anywhere close to being as good as Corrupted by u . Moreover I hated the constant back and forth between the present and the past.
The only thing I liked was the MMC. Nothing else :)
