For three years I've kept my son a secret in order to protect him from the dangers of the syndicate. A life his Irish father is still a part of.
When I have to return to Brooklyn, I don’t expect Nathan to be the first person I see. For a moment, the world disappears and it’s only the two of us. Until reality intrudes.
Because there’s no more hiding the fact that the blue-eyed, red-haired little boy at my side is his.
Nathan
Neither time nor the distance separating us has made me forget Lucia. From our first meeting, there’s been some part of her that calls to me.
With the discovery of my son, I’m even more determined to prove to her that she’s mine.
Soon though, a possessive stalker from her past re-emerges, and he wants her for himself. We begin a deadly game of hide-and-seek, and when it’s over, only one of us will be left standing.

She now reads, and loves, all romance sub-genres, with sci-fi romance and dark romance being her favorite. LK enjoys traveling and chocolate. Her books feature hot alpha heroes and the strong women they love.
Absolutely adored this book! This was my first book by LK Shaw, so I wasn't sure what to expect - but what I got was ALL my favorite things - in the tropes, writing style, and length! Nathan is 10 years younger than Lucia with the bulk of the story taking place when he's 24 and she's 34. Lucia has bumped into Nathan a couple of times and has always been strongly attracted to him despite their age difference. Three years ago she bumped into him again and gave into her attraction before leaving for London for a job - never expecting to see him again. Despite being from a mafia family, she's always wanted away from that lifestyle after a devastating loss left her brokenhearted. When she winds up pregnant, she knows she'll do anything to keep her baby safe.
This was truly a fabulous read. I just lurv me some reverse age-gaps, it just gives the perfect amount of drama added to the secret baby - it was perfect! Well written, the story moved super quickly and had me hooked from page one to the teaser for the next book at the end. Absolutely loved the characters. I thought Lucia was great. Really trying to do what was best for her Enzo, but willing to admit when she was wrong. Nathan was wonderful. All in and fully committed, he went after Lucia like a heat seeking missile and wasn't going to give up until he got what he wanted - which was Lucia. Irish Charmer and tons of action and a dash of suspense, I definitely recommend!
Irish Charmer is the 6th book in the Brooklyn Kings series by LK Shaw and can be read as a standalone. I haven't read any other books in the series and had no problem following, although it's probably best enjoyed when read in series order. It is told in first person, from multiple perspectives.
Another great book in the series! It was also great catching up with the characters from the previous books and finding out more tidbits about some in this one. As with the other books in the series, this one was well-written and completely absorbing. I had to read it in one sitting, I just could not put it down. There was plenty to enjoy in Nathan and Lucia’s story as they find their happy ever after. Danger, suspense, excitement, mystery, family, laughter, tears, a few twists, and romance.
From a chance meeting to finding forever, Nathan and Lucia had a hard road ahead of them with several obstacles, including a few of their own making, but they had family and love on both their sides to help them weather the hardships and find their right paths to happiness. From the beginning of the story, I absolutely loved Nathan; I could totally picture the cheeky, sweet Irish charmer with a boyish grin and dazzling eyes. Lucia took a little longer for me to warm up to (I wasn’t a huge fan of how she treated Nathan in some parts of the story) but once she opened up more, I started enjoying her character more and saw her as someone who would stand strong by Nathan’s side. Little Enzo added just the right amount of extra awes and cuteness to the book and even a couple of teary moments. I really liked how everything worked out in the end. And the second epilogue with Caitlin was icing on the cake. November can’t get here soon enough!
*I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are solely my own.
I received this book as an ARC copy and am reviewing this with my honest unbiased opinion.
This book has a little bit of everything you could look for in an Irish/Italian Syndicate romance. From the chance meeting at a family wedding where you have no choice but to fall for the confident handsome Irishman that makes you smile at his cheekiness. To 3 years later when a ride to the airport turns into a steamy ride before departure!! You can't help but want these two to fall madly in love.
This book was well written the characters well rounded with just enough suspense to keep you turning page after page until unfortunately you've reached the end. This book will make you fall in love, break your heart just a little bit (I may have cried a few times) and ultimately get totally absorbed in the love story that is Lucia and Nathan. Can't wait for the next book!!!
An excellent addition to The Donnellys series of books. Lucia and Nathan are entertaining charismatic characters and I loved reading their story. It was great seeing how some of the characters from previous books were getting on.
Lucia meets the charming stranger at a wedding. He's just a kid but he's not trying to hide the attraction he's feeling for her. And the way he looks at her heats her from the inside out. Besides, he represents everything she's trying to distance herself from. She's leaving for London in the morning, no time for a fling. Three years later they meet again and that same fire they felt before instantly ignites again. And he's still as charming as ever. But, he's still younger than her. He's still a big part in a life she wants nothing to do with. Men in his circle want arm ornaments, baby makers, not a woman who has her own mind and a career. He's just totally wrong for her! Did I mention that he's charming? It wasn't supposed to happen! She can never let Nathan find out about his son! Nathan has never been able to forget about Lucia, it's been six years and he still feels the same way he did when he first saw her. After one moment of passion, she just pushed him away and he never heard from her again. When he's asked to pick her up from the airport for a mutual friend's wedding, he gets the surprise of his life! She claims to have no interest in him. Interest or not, she can't deny two things. That her son is his and passion still erupts whenever they look at each other. When a threat from the past comes for her, Nathan will do whatever it takes to protect his new family. Great story but, reading the books before this one will help you to keep up with all the characters better. I love Nathan's attitude about his new family. He may be younger than her but his level of maturity is inspiring. Lucia is a very strong character. (even though sometimes she doesn't seem like it) She was determined to raise her son outside of the family's influence. This is one I definitely recommend!
Reverse age-gap, mafia, secret admirer with ill-intent and steam, lots of steam I’ve only read a couple books from this series but this one reminds me why I bought them. The stories are thrilling and passionate. I love an age-gap story but when it is an older woman with a younger man, I’m all in, being a woman of a certain age. Wink. What is most fascinating is how the author sets up this couple. They first meet at a wedding when Nathan is only 18yo and Lucia is 28yo. She’s leaving town (we later find out why) so she puts off the very intriguing young man who gives her chills. Then three years later they meet again but this time Lucia has a much harder time dismissing her feelings for Nathan. To prove to herself that it is just a whim, she has an intimate liaison in the back seat of his car. But she still leaves only to return again in another three years for another wedding but now Nathan is a beautiful specimen of maleness at 24yo and she is a single mother at 34yo. I love Enzo. I could pinch his cheeks. In this story we not only have Nathan’s struggle to make Lucia see that he’s serious about them, but also somebody who is obsessed with Lucia and has been for years. You’ll be on pins and needles waiting. Other members of the Family are mentioned which will give readers of the series an update on their lives, but it will not be a problem for readers who only want to read this one. Hint: Jacob and Emilio are the same man. If you like mafia stories with lots of passion, intrigue and a beautiful/perfect HEA, you’ll want to read this one. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book.
I love the Brooklyn Kings series and this book was no different. Nathan and Lucia had several interactions where there was a lot of attraction and want. We find out later that Lucia and Nathan hooked up during one of those interactions and now has a two year old boy, who looks just like Nathan. She keeps trying to refuse any kind of relationship with him though and he doesn't know why, he doesn't give up though. This book was exciting, steamy, and I loved the characters. I was shocked and a little upset with the ending location of the story though. I wished Lucia would have been more open to staying near her and Nathan's family in New York. I received a review copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary honest review.
Forever is a long time but I wouldn't mind spending it by your side...
Irish Charmer lives up to its name. Nathan is a man you don't soon forget, and Lucia never did. Lucia and Nathan meet at a family wedding. Nathan was young but he had the cockiness and confidence of an older man. Even though Lucia is older than him, they both feel a connection to one another. They see each other again 3 years later and they unite in an intense fiery encounter that results in what will change their lives forever.
The story gets even more intriguing when she comes home to attend another wedding with a red-haired blue-eyed boy named Enzo. Two guesses as to who the father is. I was impressed with Nathan how he handled having a son at such a young age. He really stepped up to the plate. I have always loved an older female/younger man story. It was refreshing as it's usually the reverse. There is steam, so much steam, romance, suspense and their son Enzo who is so adorable you want to eat him up.
Nathan and Lucia's journey captured me from the start. True love doesn't happen right away, it's an ever-growing process. This is an extraordinary series and Irish Charmer has become my favorite so far.
Lucia and Nathan have meet a few times. They shared one passionate night and an incredible connection. Lucia lives in London where is truly enjoys her job. Nathan is in the family business, the kind of family business where you carry a gun and and have enemies. When Nathan sees Lucia for the first time after 3 years he is extremely surprised. They have a lot of talking to do. As these two spend time together not only is the connection growing stronger than ever, the chemistry is burning up the pages. When Nathan finds out about the danger Lucia could be in he is not happy. But Nathan being Nathan will do everything he can to keep his family safe. Reading this series I have really enjoyed this family and their stories. The laugh out loud family banter is one of my favorite parts of the families scenes. The action packed page turning reads keeps me coming back for more. I’m already looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I really enjoyed this story and think it is one of my favourites in the series. It covered so many tropes, age gap (given that the President of France is 20 years younger than his former teacher wife, I am not sure it is relevant these days), hidden baby, crossing syndicate lines to name just a few. By the end of the story, age was no longer mentioned and although Nathan is sad he missed so much of Enzo’s life, his love overcomes his sorrow. The relationship with Lucia is so hot it is explosive. Catching up on all the family is lovely and the welcome Lucia receives is heartwarming. Although it was obvious who the stalker was, it did not detract from the storyline and the epilogue 1 was charming and so beautiful. A really feel good story.
I have really enjoyed reading this series. I have to say that Irish Charmer is my new favorite. The story pulled me in quickly and I found myself unable to put it down. Yet another time I read a book straight through. Looking forward to my next read by L.K. Shaw!
I received this book as an ARC copy and am reviewing this with my honest unbiased opinion.
I was swooning throughout this reverse age-gap book. So much was packed in this one with the angst, surprise pregnancy, some great suspense and holy steam!
This is Lucia and Nathan’s story. It is an OW/YM tale (yum). The surprise child was a happy addition. Plan for a story with plenty of sexy mixed with suspense.
I have to admit I haven’t read all the books in this series. I was aware that I was missing some of the details with all the surrounding characters but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of this book.
This is a fairly quick read with a predictability on the before mentioned troupes that I like. I am always up for an older woman storyline with some surprise fertility happenings.
I give this book a good 3.5 stars. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO
Reverse age gap, secret baby and mafia what else can u ask for.
This is the 1st book read of series that I've read. Even though this was book 6 I was still able to understand what was going on and enjoy the story without feeling like i was missing a big part of it. I do suggest you start from book one because characters from previous books are mentioned but like I said you were not gonna be lost reading this one.
This book was slow and fast fast, slow as in it took a minute for the main couple to get together but the story itself concluded fast. Even though it was a little fast space the author did a good job writing it cause it didn't feel rushed, their relationship was developed pretty well while they had a stalker situation going on.
Lucy and Nathan had that instant connection since the 1st time they met Their chemistry was amazing. I also loved the bond Nathan ended up having with his son enzo. It's always cute to see a strong mafia guy with a baby.
Lucia and Nathan met and felt an instant connection. Despite the ten year age difference, allied families, and different countries, they give in and gain a son, Enzo.
Hidden in London, when Lucia finally leaves for her niece and Nathan's brother's wedding, her secret is revealed. Nathan has to decide what he wants- as a 24 year old member of the Irish mob, what will he do for Lucia who wants their son away from all the violence? For his little boy who is sweet, artistic, and always in danger?
Little do they know that old demons will threaten the future they're trying to figure out.
I completely understood Lucia and loved that she was strong enough to fight for herself and her son. She was going to protect him no matter what from whoever she needed to. Her heart was second to his safety, which felt realistic for a mother.
Nathan was such a sweetheart, but always ready to fight for Lucia and Enzo. His struggle and the questions he had to ask himself felt genuine- at 24 you do need to take a minute to figure out what you want!
While the villain was predictable, I honestly appreciate that as I can't handle much suspense lol. It also allowed the story to stay focused on Lucia and Nathan figuring out their relationship. I loved the ending and how compromise, commitment, and love came together so they got their happy ever after!
I immediately needed to pick up the first in the series and am excited for the seventh after the second epilogue teaser of Caitlín!
I also want to say that this is not as dark or heavy as some of the other books in the series. The only content warnings would be mentions of abuse against side characters.
Read for: accidental pregnancy, secret baby, reverse age gap, mafia romance, suspense, light action, spice, and interconnected world (cameos from the other books!)
TLDR: My Ratings: Star Rating = 4.5 ⭐️ ‘s (I really liked it & will recommend it) Heat Level = ☕️ Warm. Honestly, I wish this book was hotter. Recommended for: Lovers of the Brooklyn Kings series and the Irish Mafia genre in general. Also fans of the Younger Man, Older Woman (yay cougars) or the secret baby genres.
Hellllllloooooo Nathan. *fans myself* whew… that boy is definitely my new book boyfriend.
I loved everything about this book… except the heat. For realz, I wish that this book rated hotter on my heat scale because… gah! I loved this story so much! 😉 Who wouldn’t love a patient man who bides his time and persistently but respectfully makes his intentions known. 🔥 🔥 🔥 And that first epilogue… oh my heart.
Here’s what you need to know… you don’t need to read the previous books in this series to read and also fully enjoy Nathan and Lucia’s story. You won’t be at all lost if you don’t, but it is an interconnected standalone, so if you have/do it adds some additional layers to the story.
I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book, as always YMMV.
My Rating Scale: 5 ⭐️: A favorite, highly recommend & will definitely re-read 4 ⭐️: I really liked it & will recommend it 3 ⭐️: I enjoyed it & might recommend it 2 ⭐️: Meh, I didn't love it & probably wouldn't recommend 1 ⭐️: Not for me, wouldn't recommend
Heat Level: 🤯 What did I just read?: Uncategorized, because… what did I just read? ☕️ Warm: Sweet ‘greeting-card company’ level romance kind of book. 🥵 Hot: Unabashedly & deliciously smexy, spicy, dirty, and/or kinky kind of book. 🔥 Scorching: Find a private spot to read this book. 😉
Lucia meets Nathan at a wedding when he's 18. She's 9 or 10 years older than him and although she's attracted, she thinks he's too young and she's leaving the country. Three years later they meet again and the chemistry is still strong. Then another three years later then meet again and she has a big secret as well as a dangerous stalker.
There's plenty of heat and a growing relationship as well as the angst of her not wanting to have a relationship with him. She has her reasons but they didn't feel completely valid and her stalker was easy to figure out and easily resolved, which is the reason for four stars instead of five.
I received an advance reader copy and this is my honest review.
Irish Charmer - Book 6 of the Brooklyn Kings series, by L. K. Shaw
This book can technically be read on its own, but there are characters & references that only really make sense when you’ve read the whole series. I’ve read book 1, & book 6 (this one).
Content Warnings:
Stalkers Unplanned pregnancy Undisclosed Child (ie, one parent didn’t tell the other the kid exists) Car crash (non-fatal) Gun violence Domestic violence (historical) Criminal organisations/activities (eg gun smuggling)
This list is not exhaustive, YMMV.
Characters of Colour?
None explicitly mentioned. Everyone’s Italian-American, Irish-American, or Irish (the red-headed, white kind).
QUILTTBAG/Queer characters?
None! So sad. In a family that big, there’s no way you wouldn’t some across someone (a partner or friend, at the VERY least) who wasn’t at least Heteroflexible! Or Ace! Or Aromantic!
Disabled characters?
It would seem a secondary character in this book, who was a primary character in a previous book, is dealing with the after-effects of domestic violence. There’s certainly inter-generational trauma, & the child in this book will absolutely need therapy - despite it never once being suggested as an option. There are no characters with obvious physical disabilities, or with obvious chronic medical issues.
Worth my time?
This was quite a quick read for me, 3 hours. While it was enjoyable, relatable, & for the most part believable, there are some things I would want to change or see more of. A character from a previous book gets married in this one. We got to see a bit of the rehearsal, but none of the wedding - only the most bare-bones description of the wedding dress, & the garden the event was in. I would have loved to have read about that wedding. I would love to know what colour the dress our main character wore, as the Maid of Honour. The climax also felt a bit rushed. We went from “there’s another stalker souvenir” (which we aren’t told the contents of) & then within about 2 chapters all systems are Go. The escalation didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me, but! Lucia did get to be her own hero! Yay!
Re-read?
As part of the overall series? Maybe. It’s a lighthearted, raunchy “comfort food” story, & having the context of the previous stories would certainly give the extra story elements a lot more depth. By itself? It’s not something I’d definitely reach for, but I wouldn’t turn it down, either.
Recommend?
To people who have read the rest of the series, absolutely! To those who haven’t read the series, go read “THE DEVIL I DON’T KNOW” & then work your way to this. It won’t take very long, & it will certainly be entertaining!
This was a terrific quick read that I devoured up within a day.
The narrative moves fast, keeping you easily engaged and immersed in its story and characters.
I empathized greatly with Lucia's plight and was quickly charmed (hehe) with Nathan. Their dynamic felt effortless, their encounters were gorgeously encapsulated with electrifying chemistry, smooth, fiery dialogue and sexual tension; not to mention an undeniable instant connection that quickly grew and evolved once they met a third time and had more than just a stolen moment together. I felt all-in with this pair, but I did worry for how it may end. Specifically the choice Lucia would undoubtedly have to make. That worried me quite a lot, as I feared the narrative would lead her towards a particular choice I'd rather she avoid, but just like the entire story, I left happy and very, very satisfied with all the choices made at the end. They were all so well earned.
Keeping in mind that this is a fast paced book, I thought most everything developed quite well within the narrative. That said, the only thing I am not sure settled well with me was the lack of communication between Nathan and Lucia when he meets her for the third time in their lives and discovers what she's hidden. I absolutely understand Lucia's reasoning, but did feel Nathan was almost too accommodating. I think rather than the romancing and relationship building coming first, I would have liked a deep conversation to begin the reunion. But I regard this a minor qualm because eventually that conversation does come, perhaps not in the moment I'd have preferred, but it comes nonetheless and ultimately none of this detracted from how hungrily I engaged with this story from beginning to end.
My attention never drifted whilst reading, I always felt focused, happily turning page after page. My heart was racing along with this fast paced narrative filled with emotional arcs, heartwarming friendship, heart-stopping danger and action, and a delicious, steamy romance to center it all.
The second epilogue has me excitedly awaiting the next book. Until then, this read was so worthwhile that I plan to backtrack and read all the installments I've missed from this series. I came in cold to this series but left warm and hungry for more. Consider me well hooked to this series!
Thank you Valentine PR for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
When I started reading Irish Charmer I didn't know if I was going to like it, mostly because of the large age gap between Lucia and Nathan. Generally I find is one participant is in their late teens to early twenties and the age gap is larger than five years it doesn't really work. Despite Lucia being 10 plus years older than Nathan I think they really worked as a couple. The big factor that makes age gaps work is how mature the younger character is. I can never understand how it works when the younger person is immature because the older person has already grown up a bit and experience life. But because Nathan is part of the family business I think he grew up fast, so by the time he meets Lucia he is mature enough to be mentally on par with her. I really enjoyed this story because I always enjoy a lighter mafia romance and the secret baby trope, especially when they are together. There is just something so sweet to me about a tough man who is in the mafia and they find out they have a kid they never knew about. I appreciated why Lucia hid their son, Enzo from Nathan, she didn't want him in the life because of her experiences. But Nathan stepped up and proved why he should be in Enzo and her life. I also liked that even though he was a tough mans man he never forced his opinions on Lucia. A big point of contention between them is that Lucia and Enzo's life is in England. She has an important job there and she doesn't want to lose that job. And rather than Nathan forcing her to stay in the states or just taking Enzo from her, he is willing to work on a compromise so everyone is happy. So often in romances you still see the woman giving up her dreams for a man but rarely the other way around. And I really liked that Nathan was willing to change his life for Lucia and Enzo.
REVERSE AGE GAP / UNPLANNED PREGNANCY / INSTANT CONNECTION / IRISH & ITALIAN ORGANIZATION / STALKER
This is the sixth book in this series. It can be a stand alone, but there are A LOT of characters from the first five books and it can be a little confusing when they are mentioned. I suggest reading the whole series. This book only took a few hours to read so it would be a quick read!
By the time that Lucia and Nathan meet, Lucia is jaded. She wants nothing to do with the organization and is moving out of the country to get away from all of the violence and crime. Unfortunately for Nathan, he is part of the organization so she doesn't give him the time of day. They meet three years later, have a quickie in the back of his car at the airport before she jets back to England. Another three years later, and she comes back with a toddler carbon copy of Nathan. Now, the two are having to work out their issues so that Nathan can be a part of his son's life, and hopefully a part of the woman's who has been on his mind for the last six years.
This was a really cute read. Nathan adores his son, Enzo, and Lucia to bits. So it is really heart warming to watch him do anything he can to make them comfortable with him being a part of their lives. Nathan was a very lovable character! Lucia, not so much. But she was going through some trauma and had always been stifled by her older brothers so I really feel like the author portrayed her character accurately. If she had been a cliche, lovable and bubbly character, it would have been cringy. I would recommend this to my friends!
L.K. Shaw has done it again! Irish Charmer, book five in the Brooklyn Kings (The Donnellys) series, is another winner.
Nathan and Lucia met at a friend’s wedding six years ago, the spark was instant, but nothing happened. Three years ago, Nathan was tasked with taking Lucia to the airport, and the chemistry was as undeniable as what they did in the backseat of his car before she returned to London. Another three years later, and Nathan is picking Lucia up once again, only this time she’s brought someone with her - a little boy who is the spitting image of Nathan. Nathan and Lucia have to work through some things if they’re going to have a happily ever after. Lucia doesn’t want to be with anyone in the mafia, nor does she want that violence to touch her son. She and Nathan love each other, but she’s hesitant because of their ages - she’s older - and because she doesn’t want to give up her job in London. In the meantime, none of that will matter if Nathan can’t find and put a stop to a man who’s been stalking Lucia for years.
I love this book! Nathan is so different from the other men in his world - he’s thoughtful, patient, and open to the idea of women having their own lives instead of being arm candy for a mob boss. He’s willing to offer Lucia what she needs. Lucia only has to be honest about what she’s wanted all along. As always, the characters are amazing, the world building is on point, and the story is fast-paced and full of action! It’s a winner.
Irish Charmer can be read as a standalone, but you’ll enjoy it so much more if you read the entire series. Enjoy this one, and be sure to let me know what you think!
Irish Charmer is the sixth book in the Brooklyn Kings series. Lucia and Nathan have circled around each other a few times, with an instant connection that won’t be denied, but she always walks away, afraid. When she comes home with a son that looks exactly like Nathan, will he let her run away again, or will he fight for a chance with her, his son? Can they find love before her stalker takes her?
Oh wow, I completely got swept away with this book and I loved every second spent within these pages. Lucia and Nathan were amazing together, but had a lot of hurdles to overcome before they could find their happily every after. Lucia was so scared. She was scared to love again, she was so afraid to be hurt again, but what she didn’t even realize was how much she was hurting herself by staying away. I loved how much she protected her son, I loved her determination, and ultimately, I really liked her character. Nathan, though, was what book boyfriends were made of! He was patient, kind, understanding, and even when he was angry and upset over Lucia’s actions, he still showed her respect. He was super swoony around Lucia and their son, but I loved him even more when danger was inserted into their dynamic and he became protective and possessive. They were so good together. I loved their passion and their connection that covered years. I loved the ups and downs they faced, some of the drama presented in this book, and naturally the danger elements. I just wish the stalker would have been a little more present in the storyline. This was a fantastic book, a great addition to an addictive series, and I already can’t wait for the next one!
Lucía had me intrigued from the time I had read Aurora's book and loved her confident and independent personality.
The background that she comes from has made her to have walls around so that she doesn't fall weak or get hurt ever again.
Let me tell you you'll feel for Nathan and Lucia right from the time they meet. There's no other word but to call it Romantic in a swoony way for how they click right from the start. 😍😍
Even though they have an instant attraction yet Lucia and Nathan don't really see each other for a while meaning years.
AND THEN.. OH MY.. A secret that Lucia had hidden so well comes out with a bang when she meets Nathan face to face and the same attraction is still there but there's something bigger staring in the face now.
Nathan, I felt as a person is the perfect match for the Lucia who's always on alert especially where her feelings are concerned as Nathan has that sort of cool yet easy going personality and he is stubborn enough to not let her go.
Little Enzo had my heart right from the start. There are so many moments that'll just melt you and bring a smile to your face.
There's a twister though, a stalker of Lucia who's been back of her life sending her letters and now things seem to be escalating all the more.
This one was a complete package with Sweetness, romance, action and mafia feel and suspense and Just Nathan and Lucia completing the spectacular package and leaving you feeling oh so much. Loved loved this one. 💗💗💗💗💗💗
Lucia Giordano had once been in love until death took him from her forever. She rightfully blamed the organization and was determined to leave it all behind. Then Lucia began to receive notes that terrified her. With the syndicate’s assistance, Lucia left the country unseen to live in peace overseas only coming back to Brooklyn for family affairs.
Barely out of high school, Nathan Donnelly already had the patience to look at the facts before diving headfirst into danger. Or in this case, approaching a woman ten years his senior. As the years fly by, Nathan could not forget the woman who snagged his heart. With her best friend sick, Nathan volunteers to pick up Lucia from the airport hoping they could talk. But Lucia was not alone.
Unbeknownst to Lucia and Nathan, her stalker is two steps ahead of their every move. He continued with his evil messages while she was away. But now the threats have turned dangerous. Somehow the stalker has learned Lucia, along with her son, is in Brooklyn for her best friend’s wedding. Not only is Lucia a target, but so is everyone around her as the stalker grows bolder.
Settle in because L.K. Shaw has a mafia story that weaves right into the senses. Feel the frustration as Nathan realizes he is a father. Feel the fear from the stalker’s notes left behind. Feel the love of family as they come together. Until the final page, Nathan and Lucia conquer the dangers, the secrets, and their love to forge a path that will lead them straight to happily ever after. A winner times two!
I received this book as an advance review copy free from the author. I have read and reviewed this book voluntarily. --Brenda, JustViews
A great read, wonderful characters and splendid plot once start impossible to put down Lucia was a wonderful female that had travelled to attend the wedding of her friend and as she had been moving around the room. Nathan had spotted her and moved up to her and asked for her to dance and then had flirted with her which as she was older seemed outrageous, especially as she felt drawn to the attractive young man. Then ag ain a couple of years later they met again and once again it was another wedding one of his brothers and he had taken her to the airport where they had enjoyed a brief encounter in the back of the car. Imagine Nathans surprise when four years later he is asked to collect her from the airport, imagine his surprise when he saw a miniature version of himself holding her hand. However, it seemed that the reason for her rapid disappearance all those years ago was about to raise its head again when the letters started to arrive, the threats were against her, Enzo also his father now she was terrified and could only think of running. Nathan is absolutely infuriated when he discovered why she had run all those years before and also now was determined now that he knew what had caused her to run and hide he assured her that he would keep her safe. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
I cannot state it enough, I LOVE THIS AUTHOR'S BOOKS SO MUCH! I'm telling y'all, when it's time to read a new one, I clear my schedule that day because there's nothing else getting done. Irish Charmer was a great addition to this world despite the fact that the heroine did drive me a bit batty with her questionable actions. Lucia is a girl who wants nothing more than to get away from the crime family life she's part of, and there's many good reasons for that but it also made her act selfishly once or twice. She's about to leave the country for a great job opportunity when she meets Nathan, a sexy beast with a baby face who is quite a bit younger than her. They have sparks from the jump, but since she's leaving, nothing can come of it. The next time they come face to face, some sexy things happen as he's older now, but again, nothing came from it or did it?! Neither can get the other out of their head but again, her fear has made her selfish, and this is the part that I just didn't appreciate from her because she really hurt him the third time they came face to face. This visit however, gave us more insight into what happened in her world, and the fact that she's in danger as well. Nathan is bound & determined to protect her, but also to get past her walls, both of which aren't exactly easy. The twists are coming in hot, the angst is thick, and the heat is out of this world. To see how it all plays out with keeping her safe, and/or will he get his girl, you'll have to hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
“Irish Charmer: A Secret Baby Mafia Romance” is the sixth book in (The Donnellys ) (Brooklyn Kings) series by the very talented author LK Shaw. It is a stand alone book and you don’t need to have read the other books but it is very enjoyable if, you have real all the books. The book is EXCEPTIONAL, to say the least and was hard to put the book down. The plot is fast-paced, well developed, and realistic. The story is a steamy read, filled with mystery, twists and turns, sexy scenes and romance with desires fulfilled. This is Nathan and Lucia’s story. Nathan is a sexy ginger haired guy who knows what he wants and what he wants is Lucia. They are both from Mafia families and Lucia does not want to live that life, in addition she has a secret and needs to disappear for awhile, so she moves overseas. Lucia is older than Nathan but even though she is overseas, she feels a connection between them and Nathan cannot forget her. Oh, there is one other glitch! The night, Lucia left, they had a one night quickie which resulted in the birth of their son Enzo. Yes, you got it - Nathan does not know about his son until Lucia returns home and he takes one look at Enzo with ginger hair and he looks like him. LOL As, they meet again, the connection is passionate and electric! Will they work things out? Can Nathan keep her safe from the stalker who chased her out of the USA? Will Lucia be able to accept their differences in age? There is so much to work out. This is a great read with a beautiful romance that is warm and snuggly. LK Shaw keeps us guessing until the very end!
Can love transcends age, distance and time? We often read books where the male character is the older of the 2. But this is the reverse. When Nathan first approaches Lucia, the attraction between the two is immediate. But Lucia fears too much. She feels he is too young for her. As well, she needs to cut ties with her mafia family as she wants nothing to do with them. She plans to take an overseas job. But at “family” wedding, she meets Nathan. It is clear they are attracted to each other, but Lucia flies away to her new life in London. Three years later, she is back in the US for another “family” wedding. Her and Nathan’s paths cross again but this time it is a lot steamier. Again, Lucia leaves. During all this time neither has forgotten the other. And now skip to the present. Lucia has returned once again for another “family” wedding. But this time she is not alone. She has a son. Nathan has been tasked with collecting her from the airport. He knows as soon as he sees Lucia’s traveling companion, that he has a son. This time he is determined not to let Lucia go. Nathan knows that she is the one. But can he succeed in convincing Lucia that he is her forever love? Lucia’s past, that sent her running to London in the first place, comes back to haunt her. As well her career in London is calling her to return. Can Nathan and Lucia move past age and distance to find their happy ever after? I received a copy of this story in exchange for my review.
