A jaded young gay man finds a job he hates and a guy he loves. Unfortunately, there is someone standing in the way of their happiness. Someone who must be removed. Somehow.
Gabriel was born and raised in a sleepy, rural town in Wales before searching for glory and infamy in the big city.
A few decades later, he finds himself resident in the Himalayas with an expanding waistline and a brain bubbling with life experiences some might consider less ordinary or downright weird.
He spends his time with his beloved dogs and faithful gang of companions, regaling them with tall tales and peculiar opinions and often drinking too much.
Gabriel's interests range from cooking, travel and video games to tantric and occult theory and practice. Over the years he has worked in governmental, corporate and educational sectors and even as a Buddhist monk. All of which, he feels, are less satisfactory than living a life of ease.
Not the kind of book I normally go to but decided to give it a try anyway and all I've got to say is.....
Holy crap, this book is diabolical! The end simultaneously had me in stitches and horrified me. Maybe I'm just too naive for this story because this book bites.
Loved the writing style. It felt like a dish of delightful snark served on a thorny platter with a dash of romance for flavour.
