Callisora, the eldest of the two Vampire princesses, would rather spoil herself with sweet human blood than worry about the responsibility of her ascension to the throne. Akantha, her blind younger sister, navigates the world through aura and instinct, but can’t find the way out of a political marriage to a Werewolf prince. Farran, a werewolf slave, is uprooted from a harsh past and placed in the service of Vampire court, where she begins to realize that things aren’t always what they appear to be.
As politics clash with personal morality, and the long-held traditions of the Four Courts are finally scrutinized, all three individuals must come to terms with their past and present...and must decide if the power to shape their own future outweighs the cost of confronting it.
Immersed in a rich, harsh fairytale environment echoing the tales of the Brothers Grimm, The Vampire’s Fall is a story about understanding where you’ve come from and finding the courage to change.
Elizabeth has moved all of her Dark Fantasy and Dystopian books (with a bit of Spice) to the pen name of Eliza Delmar.
Elizabeth is known to be a "Plantser, as she creates stories with little to no planning, gathering inspiration from songs and images. From short stories to full length novels, Lizz is most comfortable writing Fairy-Tale/Light Fantasy with the odd Space Sci-Fi and Paranormal story.
Being a mother of three, and married to an elevator mechanic, she's constantly kept on her toes. With her three children having heart conditions and autism, it's a miracle she can find the time to express herself through writing.
The Dark Fantasy lore just became richer and more diverse thanks to The Vampire’s Fall, a new series by the author Elizabeth Duivenvoorde. The manner the characters navigate through the story ripe with twists and turns is well executed, leaving you fully immersed in a complex world building surrounded by harsh environments and rigid rules. The blind vampire Akantha is definitely a stand out, but her sister Callisora and the female werewolf Farran are not far behind. Each are braver than the other on their own ways and defy their challenges head on with help from their male companions Vladimir, Dante and Liam. The book also has plenty of enchanting illustrations throughout its pages. The map in the beginning is quite helpful, keeping the reader aware of the diverse locations described. The character profiles at the end are a final touch of enjoyment. For mature readers, The Vampire’s Fall delivers a lot of gore, which is expected since the book houses a plethora of monsters and creatures of the night, and some steamy sex scenes. When you’re done reading it, it becomes clear that it’s just the beginning of something much vaster, leaving you thirsty—pun intended—for the next chapters coming in the future. And hopefully, they will arrive soon!
