This is book six of the Legacy Academy series and sees Ebony setting off for her second year at the academy, having spent the summer refusing to speak to her father, the Golden Phoenix, for imprisoning Gunnar in the Hollows prison for supernaturals. Not everything is as it seems, but no one will tell her the truth, so she can only go on how she feels about events and having already lost Rusty during the final trial in the last semester and he and Gunnar doing everything to save her from Ari, she doesn’t feel like believing a word her father says. He is the one that put Gunnar into the Hollows and now she has to go back to Legacy Academy without him. A new danger is coming for her, the Darkness is deadly to any supernatural and is an instrument of death from Ryker and Cormac, their powerful enemies. Ebony being mainly a vampire rather than silver dragon like her sister Raven, has come as a shock to her and especially her father, but Anton and Montae believe it is the beginning of her becoming an even more powerful being. She is only focussed on what she has lost and the absence of Gunnar, but she will soon start gaining new powers and she will have to believe in herself and these new powers, if they are to have any chance of finding all Aibell’s stones and not allowing them to fall into the wrong hands.
Gunnar has sent Hades to protect her, leaving him all alone and without his own personal protector. Gunnar wrote to tell her to forget about him and to find someone else. She is to keep away from him, the Hollows and Ari. Raven is part of the Defenders and Ebony has formed her own friends at school into a group, calling themselves the Sentinels, to protect the academy and all the other students, whilst the Defenders are busy elsewhere. Ebony has a new roommate, Yasmin, who she hopes won’t bring about a repeat of the drama of the previous year. Unfortunately, Anton has paired her with Jaxon, a vampire but also a royal, to give her extra one to one instruction in gaining control of her vampire powers, and he is the very person that Yasmin is infatuated with! Making Ebony an immediate enemy. The Dark Demons and the Unseelie want her, probably for her increasing powers and now she has to contend with a roommate who hates her, Jaxon wanting her to go out with him now Gunnar is out of the way and her confusion about feeling any attraction for Jaxon whilst Gunnar is locked away! Anton and her father don’t know what stones Ryker and Cormac have and they need to know which ones are still out there to be found.
Ebony is introduced to blood from the Chosen and this gives her an immediate boost, plus access to yet another strange power. They are coming thick and fast and she is repeatedly being told to train and learn how to use them, so she can use them when they have to fight the Darkness and the rest of their enemies. No one else knows much about her new powers, some are expected and others may gain them eventually, but Ebony’s have come on immediately and without her even knowing how to use some of them, so it makes it harder to learn to use them skilfully. She is again warned to stay away from Gunnar and the Hollows, to keep Gunnar safe with the role he has been given, whatever that may be. Gunnar is in constant danger and she and the Sentinels want to break him free from prison, but are forced to wait until the right time. Meanwhile Jaxon is beginning to get on her nerves, as he tries to push her to accept him and his affections. One of their new skills to practice together, is the ability to read others minds and she doesn’t believe what she finds at first. Others have to point out that he has lied to her and the reason why. What he causes at the end of the book is a total nightmare for Ebony and leaves her with massive regret about where her relationship with Gunnar was heading. Now it is out of her hands, with a sick twist from another who wants her for himself and doesn’t care how he goes about it. As if she didn’t have enough to contend with! It looks like all matters will come to a head in the third and final year at Legacy, for Ebony, her friends and the enemies they must face to save their world as they know it. Another exhilarating read in this series with so much still to be resolved. I can’t wait to get my hands on the final boo of the series to find out what happens to them all. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Ebony is back for year two at Legacy and ready to figure out her place as a vampire. After the academy games, it was exposed that Ari, a Dark Demon, was impersonating Dr. Greenwood and was actively trying to weaken/kill the students at Legacy to keep the strongest of them out of the war making it easier for the Dark Demons and Unseelie to win.
With Gunnar now in the Hollows because he “attacked” Ebony to keep her from winning the final race at the academy games, Ebony isn’t speaking to her father, no matter how hard he tries. Upon returning to Legacy, she is placed in a new tower with vampires instead of dragons and has high hopes for a good relationship with her new roommate, but Jaxon spoils that right off the bat.
Jaxon is a vampire royal, a cousin to the current prince and thinks quite highly of himself. With Gunnar out of the picture he decides to make his move, which infuriates Ebony’s new roommate because she wants him. It doesn’t matter to her that Ebony is not interested. He pushes Ebony to give him a chance and doesn’t seem to want to take no for an answer.
All the while, Ebony is learning how to use her vampire magic so that her and her friends can break Gunnar out of the Hollows when the time comes.
The second installment to the series is great! It was well edited and I wasn’t pulled out of the story nearly as often. There were still some mistakes here and there, but nothing like the first book. I enjoyed the anticipation that held throughout the book. Ebony also kept me irritated. I get the mindset she was in, but at the same time I was screaming at the book like she could hear me. There’s lots of foreshadowing revolving around Ebony and how she perceives things.
As with the first book, if you liked Harry Potter or similar books, you’ll love Ebony’s Legacy Year Two. M. Guida creates a great plot and it’s great to see the characters grow and start to show who they really are. I look forward to reading Year Three and have high hopes.

Well, I needed to start this IMMEDIATELY after finishing book one—well played, author. Well played. Thankfully, this one picks up right where book 1 leaves off and we’re deep into Ebony’s family drama—it’s super juicy.

This book flew by for me, I was hooked and before I knew it, it was over, having devoured it in one sitting. I also didn’t even notice the amount of housework I did, it was like magic. All I saw was this book playing out in my head—Guida is clearly a genius.

Love the world-building and cannot wait to read the next!

🎧 Audio:
This is a fantastic audio production! While it had only one narrator, she pretty much made it sound like a full-cast production with all her different voices and accents. Overall sound quality is perfect—the entire book is absolutely flawless. 5 stars. 🦩

I loved it! It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This story is a slow burn, with a love triangle, forbidden romance, fated mates, and found family. Grab this new romance academy where you’ll met Dragons, Wolves, Demons, Fae, and Vampires. Welcome back to Legacy Academy. The legacy continues with Raven’s sister Ebony’s story. The Unseelie are one step ahead of them and she should be focusing on stopping them, but her mind is focused on the one guy who doesn’t want anything to do with her. One kiss turned her world upside down, but if she doesn’t get back into the game, the enemy will win. Why does she want him when she has other guys who are trying to win her heart? This second year is going to test her very limits with learning her new powers, hunting the Unseelie, and ignoring every handsome distraction. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I highly recommend to everyone.

The book was amazing and would have been 5 stars if not for Jaxon. I HATE HIM SO MUCH. Every time he speaks I want to rip out my eyes and erase it from my memory. I had to set the book down almost every chapter because I hate him so much. He is a brat who has never been told no and is infuriating. I need to know how the series ends (and and which is the only reason I finished this book) and I spent hours today finding things to do so I wouldn’t have to read more about how stupid Jaxon is. The writing is good but if Jaxon wins in the end I will be moving this book to 2 stars and writing hate mail that I will never send

Wow! Just wow!

I loved Ebony's year 2. Although Jaxon is being a total tool, but at least I think he has good intentions... lol maybe.

In Year 2, ebony is now trying to master her vampire powers, and some powerful latent powers are emerging. Gunner is still locked up for most of the book. And Jax is working hard to win Ebony's heart.

Epic battles happen all through the book that are amazing! I devoured the book and loved it from start to finish! Now I'm gonna be sitting on pins and needles to find out what happens next!

I recieved an ARC for my honest review.

I really have fallen for this series, each and every new book there are new characters, new enemies and new friendships built.
The twists in this book were amazing, I couldn’t put it down until the very last word - I was honestly fantastic.
Ebony is great, I love her determination and strength.
That cliff hanger ending had me screaming - almost threw my kindle…
Can’t wait to get stuck into the next book.

interesting story!

I flew through this. The juxtapositions of different supernatural cultures colliding for a greater good. A girl trapped by the expectations of everyone to live up to her family’s legacy. A love denied. Secrets abound. Jealousy and betrayal.
Trigger warnings: misogyny. Speciesism. Parental abuse. Death. Torture.

I am continuing the series but…

Again the storyline is good, reminds me a lot like Harry Potter but obviously not nearly as good and is a bit predictable. Again, the editing is horrible and it makes a big difference on the quality of this author’s ability to give us a 4 or 5 star book. I am hoping the 3rd book is better.

Excellent adventure in reading

This book and the previous books have everything I enjoy reading. There is non-stop action, characters evolve and grow, emotions surge and romance blooms slowly. The evil doers are set back, but are not defeated. Who's loyal? Who is hiding secrets? I am constantly looking for clues for hinting at upcoming surprises.

Ebony and the gang are back and so is all the action, suspense, and drama. Plus everything else not dealing and connected with school. It was a blast to revisit all my favorite characters and see what trouble and problems they find and watch they figure out how to survive to the end.

🤔 why is Jaxon such a tool

Ok, feeling better about book 2 than I was book 1. But Jaxon becoming a douche canoe makes me mad... little weird this change about him. He knows all about obsession it seems, eh? But costin! The big bully. Smh. Book 3 here we go.

This one is all about her vampire powers emerging. Young relationship and mean girl issues also fills this book. This book is. A big story builder with all her new powers and hints at a bigger story. You are left with a cliffhanger too!
