Jamey Moody is a small town Texas girl living her best life with her little terrier Leo, who brings her a toy every time she walks in the house. When she’s not reading or writing her next sapphic romance you can find her on a bike ride, paddle boarding the lake, or in the middle of an adventure. Reach out, she’d love to hear from you.
I did not like at all what the author did with the main characters from Where Secrets Are Safe in this sequel. Last words from the epilogue (three years after) of the first book were “…they walked toward happily ever after.” And in this sequel that HEA disappeared (poof!) at the very beginning when we were told that the characters broke up at their wedding. The love story with HEA from the first book has completely lost its meaning. Very disappointing. In my opinion that is a big no-no in this genre. So I recommend reading just one of these two books. Primarily the first one because it is better in every way. The sequel is forced, without impact and rather absurd. I wish I had never read it because it ruined the first, better book for me. 1.5 stars
After reading Where Secrets Are Safe and One Secret Summer I was really conflicted. I loved both stories but I connected much more with Melanie from One Secret Summer. So I had no idea what Jamey is going to do in her next book. Because her note after this book was a bit cryptic.
When I read the blurb and started the book I was totally excited. It might sound bad but I was so relieved about the break up of Krista and Brooke. Even if I loved their story, Melanie‘s and Krista‘s love was much more special to me. It’s their souls that found each other more than 30 years ago and deep down they always knew that they are meant for each other.
But of course after her break up Krista once more has a broken heart and thinks once more she is meant to be alone. There is only one person that is able to bring back hope and so much love. And with the help of Krista’s best friend Julia and her own family Melanie manages to surprise the hell out of Krista. As much as Krista resists at first, telling Melanie‘s girls and their children their story brings back so many beautiful memories. Readers that have not read Jamey‘s short story One Secret Summer will be able to witness how they met and how they fell in love.
For me to read this part again was such a wonderful experience. I was smiling the whole time. Afterwards we get to know what happened in all these years and what made them stay apart. My heart just went out to both of them and I was sad for their missed opportunities. But in the end everything happens for a reason and when the time is right. And that’s exactly what Jamey tells us in this story.
While I continued reading the book I noticed more and more how much I didn’t want this books to end. I was so happy to witness this family finally being reunited. Besides that I got curious about Melanie‘s daughter Stephanie and her wife Heather. They seem to be an amazing couple. And then there is Melanie’s other daughter Jennifer that was hurt so much before and finally seems to have found the one for her. I would definitely to love to read both of their stories one day. 😍
And well the epilogue is just so beautiful. It was the perfect ending for this perfect book. Thank you once more Jamey for the most wonderful journey.
I know Jamey took a risk by breaking up one of her couples. It’s not something she ever did before and I don’t think many other romance authors did. But I think she couldn’t have come to a better decision. It’s so very brave and that’s exactly why I love her books so much.
In life not every relationship will end in happily ever after. Many relationships are only meant for a part in our life. On the other hand there will always be the one relationship that lasts. There is this one person that is your soulmate. And Jamey definitely couldn’t have described that in a better way.
So what can I say more than Jamey once more filled my heart. I‘m amazed every time how she does it. You would think I should be used to her writing after reading all her books. But let me tell you I’m not. She has improved so much since her first book. Even if I already loved that one. ☺️She just surprises me every time. Every book I fall in love again with her writing and her characters. Krista and Melanie definitely are my new favourite couple. Even if Stella & Sophia and Vanessa & Makenna are very close behind. 😍
I received an advance reader copy from the author and voluntarily leaving a review.
Jamey's stories get better with each one she writes. You can relate to her characters and even see yourself in them. I loved Krista and her friends from the first book and the prequel that introduced Melanie as her true soulmate. There is so much love in this story it just warms you up all over. Family and friends are so important when trying to heal a broken heart. You just knew that neither time nor distance could stop the love that Melanie and Krista share. I loved how the story took a leap into the future to find them still so much in love with passion burning bright. This story will make you laugh, cry and cheer for this unique family.
Unfortunately this is only a weak four stars (really only a 3.5) for me, as reading it so closely after the first one of Lover's Landing, it felt quit a bit repetitive in the first half. If you don't mind that you'll surely enjoy this just like the first.
I think if I had read this on its own it would have been at least a four star second chance romance. Krista Kyle’s meets her first love while working at a summer lake resort. She is a senior in college, who is planning on going to Hollywood when she graduates. She didn’t plan on meeting Melanie Zimmer, divorced with two daughters. Together they have a magical summer before realities send them in different directions. They stayed connected but not romantically.
Fast forward to present time and Krista is an award winning actress and producer. Her three year relationship ended a few months ago. While recovering at the lake resort she now owns Melanie returns with her kids and grandkids announcing now is their time. The first half of the book has Melanie sharing with her daughters the summer that brought Krista into their lives. The second half focuses on figuring out what and how their relationship can be now. This is low drama, lots of sweetness, passion and love and acceptance from family.
One of the focuses that plays well here is the difference in acceptance between the 1990s and present time. I wont get into the age gap because now they are older it is not as relevant as when they first met. The one really weird thing is that Krista is the romantic lead in the previous book in the series, Where Secrets Are Safe. I have never read a book where the main character gets two romances unless the first partner dies or something. The first ends with Krista heading to marriage and in this one we learn they break up walking down the aisle. It gets explained as well as it can. And clearly the author planned this as Melanie is mentioned in the first book. But the author could easily have written a second chance romance for another character instead of using the same lead in both books. It is strange. It was more standout to me as I read them back to back. I share some of the same feelings as Pin’s review but am not marking it down as much.
I only quite recently came across Jamey Moody as an author, but boy am I so glad I did. "No More Secrets" was a wonderful read and it lingered in my mind long after I'd finished; like an old friend I didn't want to leave. I enjoyed the descriptive language and I thought I might have worked the plot out quite early; but there was a real twist that I didn't expect. Thank you Jamey for the ride. I'll be reading more of your books for sure. (30-8-'21)
I got this as an ARC but I totally reread it on Kindle Unlimited. Jamey Moody continues to get better with each books she releases. This one had me going "No way!" so often. I highly recommend you read the first in the series but this could be read as a stand alone. Moody went off the typical romance story formula for some serious twists. I loved it! I love that the characters are older. This was one of the best books I read in August 2021, if not the best.
Krista and Melanie’s journey was rife with obstacles of timing, insecurities, fear, and a powerful love that led them back to each other. The secondary characters were strong, amazing, and so necessary to this wonderful series. Lovers Landing is a place we all desire. Our community deserves safety, acceptance, and support for us to be able to thrive. I enthusiastically and unequivocally recommend this and any other works by Jamey Moody. I love her ability to turn a phrase. She is quite the wordsmith. I’m anxious to read more of her novels. Thank you Peace
I'm always pleased when I see a pending release from Ms. Moody and this is my voluntary, unbiased review.. In book 2 of the Lovers Landing series, we find Krista completely gutted emotionally after Brooke dumps her at their wedding. Holed up in her cabin at the resort, she refuses to discuss what happened but poking by best friend Julia brings up a memory of past love Melanie. Friends take things in hand and a conspiracy is launched with good intentions based on the love experienced at that very complex many years ago when it was a campground. The author's writing cleverly moves back and forth giving history to Krista's and Melanie's thinking. A meddlesome supporting cast in Stephanie, Jennifer, Heidi and Julia (and the boys) push events along with reminiscing at the forefront- memories blossom along with a rekindled romance. Will fears be set aside, obstacles that loomed so large in the past no longer matter and the two women face and embrace their love? Sweet, slow heat and a longing for a HEA pulled me along to a fitting epilogue. "My soul has longed for the one it loves" made me a bit teary eyed. Thank you Ms. Moody for lifting my spirits with love. Easily recommend this book with 5 stars and eagerly anticipate the next one in the series.
What a wonderful sweet story. I fell in love with Krista in Where Secrets are Safe. And now she gets her well deserved happily ever after. After years of wrong place and wrong time, it is Krista's time. Her first love from when she was in college shows up and gives Krista the courage she needs. Melanie is an absolutely wonderful person. Jamey weaves the past history in and gives her readers a wonderful treat. I enjoy reading about more mature MC's. Thank you Jamey. I did receive an ARC. But I would have read it anyway

Finally free to follow the heart, what would happen next is the best gift. strong>
I gotta say this story has such a heart string I needed a Kleenex or two. The characters are full of love and want the best for each other. Krista comes back to Lovers Landing with her heart shattered. She and Julia have found success in their vacation resort but for months Krista has been running from the hurts. I love the way the story comes together. Brooke Bell found redemption and acceptance but wanted more. Coming to grips with that opens up a whole different story for Krista. We glimpsed Melanie Zimmer in the first book Where Secrets are Safe. This relationship was a watershed moment and needed to be told. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed the way this first love was centered. As we get the rest of their story while they learn to trust themselves and each other again it was so moving. I don't want give the story away but the cast of characters made for so much more joy. It was so good to know the life Krista lived with Melanie and her family even after their first summer. I was sad that society played a big role in the timing they just kept missing as their love stayed strong. There is nothing like a first love recaptured. Jamey Moody weaves past, present and future is the most fun way. Everytime I think this is my favorite she writes another one that just fills my HEART. This story is full of fun, love and life moments so very precious. There were more than a couple of beginning romances in this story. I look forward to what is next from Lovers Landing.
Jamey Moody has written a heartfelt happily ever after that proves that true love doesn't have an expiration date. Actress/Producer Krista Kyle runs a lesbian hideaway resort with her best friend Julia Lansing. She is nursing a broken heart after her breakup from reporter Brooke Bell. Brooke reconnected with her first love and Krista was left shattered.
Upon learning of the breakup, Krista's first love Melanie Zimmer shows up with her daughters, who were children when they first met at the resort. The girls now have children of their own and have remained in touch with Krista.
I like how the book goes back to the beginning and you experience the joy of them falling in love and find out how many obstacles got in the way to them making it work over the years. It can sometimes take longer than expected but your heart always returns to the one who makes it come to life.
An ARC was provided by the author for an honest review.
I loved this book about first love and second chances. This is the second in the Lovers Landing Series, not essential to have read the first book, but I would say it will help with the background plots. Krista, a famous actress has been left at the alter by her fiancée. She feels that she will never find love again and retreats to her resort, Lovers Landing. What she doesn’t know is that her first love Melanie has heard about the breakup and knows that the time is right for reconciliation. As usual from Mrs Moody, this is very well written, with good strong characters, leading and supporting. I would highly recommend you immerse yourself with Krista and Melanie.
Amazing 2nd book in the series Again Jamey just sucks you into the story, makes you feel like you are at the Lake with these characters experiencing the pain and joy. Was shocked when The characters went to a bar in Dallas called Jugs- since I had been to that bar quite a few times in the 80’s and 90’s. Krista & Melanie’a story gives you hope. Great to read about friendship that last a lifetime too.
We meet Krista after her breakup with Brooke just before their wedding. Because Krista is very sad, Julia arranges a resort booking from a very familiar family, from their past. Krista doesn’t want to participate in this holiday adventure, until she sees a familiar face at the dock.
They all relive together their holiday of 21 years ago. Will it end differently, will Krista be brave to take a leap of Faith with her heart.
Read the book and go to the Lovers Landing to find out!
This is a feel good, never ending love story between a young women destined to be a star (Krista) and a young divorced older mother of 2(Melanie). This tells how life got in the way and pulled them apart. But they stayed in touch with each other, and never fell out of love with one another. Lovely book beautifully written. Highly reccomend! Definitely 5 stars!
I read to get out of the everyday stuff, especially now. Jamey Moody weaves a story that is engaging and uplifting and definitely takes you out of the every day stuff. The Lovers landing series is gentle, heartwarming and just fun to read. Fiction reflects life but maybe it’s time for life to reflect fiction. Definitely should give it a read.
Great 2nd book, I loved the way it kept going back in time to explain all issues. The characters are really well written and can’t help but fall in love with them. Can’t wait for more in this series.
I have so so so many feelings about this first love/second chance romance. Starting with the simplest and most important, I loved it. This story is sweet and beautiful. The romance is tender and I loved getting to see them fall in love and come together decades later. As it stands on its own this story is perfection. Krista and Melanie have such a sweet and natural connection that I absolutely loved. The premise for the story was also super well done and completely surprise me. I was 100% certain this story was going to wreak me a bit and I was not disappointed but was completely wrong about how it was going to break me, which was honestly pretty great as the shock of it made it cut me that much deeper. This book maintains Moody’s sweet and romantic writing style so any fans of Moody’s works are sure to love it. Moody lulled me into a false sense of security with her previous works, constantly writing warm super low angst stories and then came in with No More Secrets hitting with the angst right from the start. Completely surprised me. Bravo, well done. From here on out I am going to get a bit spoilery for the first book in the series so if you haven’t read Where Secrets are Safe (why the heck not?) then read no further. When I saw that the next book in the series was going to be about Krista and Melanie’s love story in the 90’s I knew I was going fall in love with them together, hell just the paragraph reference to Melanie in WSAS had me falling in love with their love and I knew I didn’t need any fuel added to that fire because I knew they didn’t end up together so why hurt myself even more. Then I start No More Secrets and Krista and Brooke have broken up. On the one hand this is good because I really liked the idea of Krista and Melanie together, but on the other hand Moody did too good of a job making me fall in love with Krista and Brooke in WSAS and I was heart broken that they broke up. For me it didn’t fit with what I experienced in book one and kind of made it feel less genuine. Krista and Brooke’s love was definitely a healing love, and if it had stayed like that I would have been happier with the end result, but Moody really did too good of a job with their love, making it feel like all the other stuff they both did and sacrificed was all worth it because it lead them to each other. I was certain that their love was a happily ever after so I am still devastated even though I am happy with where Krista and Brooke both ended up. I have to think of WSAS and NMS as two stand alone stories otherwise No More Secrets ruins book one a bit for me. This is all a testament to Moody’s writing because she has evoked such strong emotional investment in these relationships and does such a wonderful job developing them. I am a believer that love in all its forms is what makes life worth living, and the kind of Love Melanie and Krista find is the magical soul deep love that some people never find and to me is worth more than anything else, so the years they are forced to spend apart for a Hollywood career was a whole added level of mourning for me. Krista was willing to sacrifice and I so wish that Melanie had let her but I am so glad they were able to make it work eventually. This book is equal parts sweet and heartbreaking but at all times it is such a beautiful story. I love the love and family Krista and Melanie made in the summer of 1991 and how it still held just as strong through all of their years apart. The family aspect was especially wonderful. I loved both of girls and they families they made. Krista fits perfectly an I love how that dynamic was explored. I couldn’t get enough of this book. The characters, the story, the family, the romance all wrapped into one amazing package, even with my personal struggles with the relationships I was always enthralled and fully satisfied. This story is warm and sweet and has a terrific ending that is marvelous.
It was compelling. I read it in an afternoon. I enjoyed the characters and the location, though sometimes there were so many characters i couldn't keep track of them all. I did read the first book of the series, even though i had seen in the reviews spoiling what was going to happen in the beginning of this one. There was some good tension at the beginning of the book as our to MCs got together but everything was resolved pretty quickly. With this kind of setup, there was the possibility of strong emotion that could have led to some pretty gripping scenes. For me, i didn't really feel that. So pretty close to 4 stars. I think it could be because i don't have a good frame of reference. I don't know anyone who has done what the older MC did when it comes loving someone and letting them go. I guess people like that exist in the world and it is interesting to hear their stories. But i get taken out of the books with this trope because, really, people do this?
After getting over my initial annoyance learning what happened immediately following the end of the first book in this series, I decided to go ahead and give this second book in the series a chance. This second chance romance had the potential to be amazing, but again the writing and the voice acting just didn't work for me. Thinking back on the two books, I very much wish the author had given these stories to two different couples.
As I wrote in my review of the first book, I believe I might have enjoyed the story more if I had read the book, rather than listened to the audiobook. I have listened to a lot of audiobooks and I will never again take for granted the talent of the true masters. The person who performed this book, and the second which I have also listened to, wasn't able to capture the maturity of the characters who were in their 50s or older. And to me it didn't feel like the author captured the voices of those characters at those ages, which of course made it challenging for the voice actor.
I love finding book series where characters are followed over time and we get to experience different parts of their lives, but after listening to the first 2 of the 4-book series, I won't be continuing. This author just isn't for me.
A long time coming love story! No More Secrets was sweet and low angst, but so engaging as you follow the history of a love so powerful it lasts a lifetime. Jamey Moody did such a great job connecting the characters to the reader that I physically felt the love these two characters shared. I spent fifteen seconds thinking I was disappointed with how the book started after reading the first book in the series (no more details or spoilers). But it didn't take long to be happy with where things were headed. I am excited to see which direction book three goes in. There are so many options! For a very good, but low lever angst story, I recommend No More Secrets.
I liked it, but not as much as Where Secrets Are Safe
No More Secrets takes place three years after Lovers Landing Book 1, but I'm not sure if it is a standalone novel. I feel it's better to read Where Secrets Are Safe first because it's referred to quite often. I've continued to really enjoy the characters, but several things seemed off in this sequel. Others might not notice, nor will concern themselves with my issues. Some things happened a little too quickly, and/or were a bit too convenient for my liking.
Another great story by Jamey Moody and a terrific extension of Book 1. Lots of good feels and a continuing development of characters in this series. I can't wait to dive into book 3 and the conclusion of Lovers Landing. Pick up this series, and do start with book 1, if you don't there's covering info included so you'll have a good idea of how all the pieces fit together. But by starting with #1 you're in on the action, not just given a quick summary.
I read the first book of the series where Krista got her HEA and then I read the short story about meeting Melanie and the girls and I thought why wasn't the book about them reconnecting. And then my wish came true! It's a great read and I'm a big fan of epilogue that takes us as far away in the future as possible so happy as punch.
Moody provides more heat in this sequel. They also provide a continuous love story between two women, but also Melanie’s family.
No More Secrets is a quick read into the past to celebrate a love that never waned. Jamey Moody makes you believe that first loves can be everlasting - at least if you go to Lovers Landing.

Such a sweet story of Krista and Melanie’s deep love for one another. I enjoyed book 1 and was hesitant to read this one because I was invested in Krista and Brooke, but I quickly got over that and fell in love with Krista and Melanie! Highly recommend No More Secrets!
