Hur gör man?
So yeah, a wine book! Not my typical book exactly, usually I gravitate towards fantasy smut (for my future employer, that was a joke) but I do love wine and Frida Lund's Instagram, so I had to buy it. I pre-orderd the book in March during a take home exam, and yes I take my master studies extremely seriously, and even got it signed when it arrived in August. It's the only book I've ever pre-ordered before, so even before reading it was a special book. When all of this is established, because for this book specifically the background info was of importance, what did I actually think about the book itself? Well, about that. My opinions are... divided. On the one hand, I love Lund's free style of writing and it really feels like a friend writing you a cheeky message. It's fun, you're enjoying the text and thus I also find myself remembering the information much easier. But - the book contradicts itself on some occasions. One part of the book reads "oh it's an out-dated thing to choose a wine from the same country as the food you're cooking" and literally 12 pages after, another parts reads "it's a great way to think that when you're choosing wine it should be from the same country as the food you're cooking". Yeah, I'm not joking. Also I find the vibe of the book and her perspective to mostly counter towards people with, simply put, more money. The normal sortiment you can buy at Systembolaget is rarely mentioned, and to privately import yourself or specially order from a fancy wine importer/the farm itself is seen as the way to buy wine. But those bottles are way beyond my price ranges. I can't casually buy a bottle of wine for 500 SEK as she can. I'm glad she can drink all of that fancy wine, and hopefully I'll get there one day too, but until then I'd like some options more realistic for me, too. All in all - fun book, learned some, too expensive to do the majority of the things suggested in the book, and some parts contradicts themselves. But read it for yourself. Also fun that it included some recipes!
