About the author

Cassandra Clare was born to American parents in Tehran, Iran and spent much of her childhood travelling the world with her family, including one trek through the Himalayas as a toddler where she spent a month living in her father’s backpack. She lived in France, England and Switzerland before she was ten years old.

Since her family moved around so much she found familiarity in books and went everywhere with a book under her arm. She spent her high school years in Los Angeles where she used to write stories to amuse her classmates, including an epic novel called “The Beautiful Cassandra” based on a Jane Austen short story of the same name (and which later inspired her current pen name).

After college, Cassie lived in Los Angeles and New York where she worked at various entertainment magazines and even some rather suspect tabloids where she reported on Brad and Angelina’s world travels and Britney Spears’ wardrobe malfunctions. She started working on her YA novel, City of Bones, in 2004, inspired by the urban landscape of Manhattan, her favourite city. She turned to writing fantasy fiction full time in 2006 and hopes never to have to write about Paris Hilton again.
Cassie’s first professional writing sale was a short story called “The Girl’s Guide to Defeating the Dark Lord” in a Baen anthology of humor fantasy. Cassie hates working at home alone because she always gets distracted by reality TV shows and the antics of her cats, so she usually sets out to write in local coffee shops and restaurants. She likes to work in the company of her friends, who see that she sticks to her deadlines.

City of Bones was her first novel. Sword Catcher is her most recent novel.

Intenso, pero de las mejores entregas.

En todas mis reseñas me quejo de que las entregas de esta adaptación a novela gráfica de la saga principal de Cazadores de Sombras se me hacen siempre demasiado cortas. Este también es el caso, aunque he de admitir que me ha enganchado más que otras entregas, además de que lo que sucede es mucho más decisivo en cuanto a trama.

Tenemos momentos impactantes que marcan un antes y un después en el universo, lo cual ha refrescado mi memoria... pero también me ha hecho sentir cositas y casi lloro. Volver a visitar pasajes antiguos te hace darte cuenta de la cantidad de referencias que ya incluía Cassandra Clare para las siguientes entregas una década más tarde. ¡Asombrosa, mi niña!

Como punto negativo: el personaje de Sebastian. Siento que una vez es introducido en los libros tenemos un poco más de desarrollo, y aquí me ha costado ver eso. Quien lea estas obras primero y no la original se perderá algunos detalles. Sin embargo, al final creo que se ha compensado.

Me ha gustado ver Idris desde otros puntos de vista, y en general, representado por las ilustraciones de Cassandra Jean. Nunca me recuperaré de que Alacante en inglés sea Alicante, siempre se me escapa una sonrisa.

En meses tenemos la nueva entrega, la sexta, que creo que concluye con una fase de la adaptación. Se desconoce el futuro... pero espero que haya más entregas del resto de libros. Me encanta leer la historia con otro enfoque y punto de vista. ¡Recomiendo!

Ah… I loved these books as a kid and I adore them as an adult. All these feelings. The adventures. The amazing characters. The plot. Nostalgia…

An amazing graphic novel. With the necessary scenes to understand the plot perfectly and have fun. I finally was able to see all these places, buildings and scenes I was fantasising all these years ago.

Cassie Clare is the best for a reason. She always has a way to touch my heart and make me dream. I loved this graphic novel. I strongly hold that you should read it ♥️

¡VAYA CAMBIO! Se nota que ha habido más trabajo en esta adaptación, lo que me quejaba de las anteriores es que los fondos eran pobres, y en esta ocasión se ha superado.

Además qué decir del libro? Saber todo lo que va a pasar y no poder gritarle a los protagonistas, además el final??? Ya sufrí en su día y ahora verlo dibujado... AAAAAH

i mean what else is there for me to say i’m excited for part 2/ volume 6. we’re almost done with the first arc of the mortal instruments which is so cool. i hope cassandra jean does the graphic novels for the last hours and maaaaybe the infernal devices, i know we already have those but i’m not a fan of that art style

i could FINALLY read this and i'm so happy about it!!! it's absolutely gorgeous as always (cassandra jean's art for tsc will always be my favorite) and it got all the feelings in me all over again because city of glass is a masterpiece (i cant wait for vol6 with the second half of it) and tmi is just at another level if you get it you get it if you dont you dont and im sorry but it could never be me

This one follows the first half of City of Glass. I love how the demons are illustrated, there are so many different kinds! Some of them look like dinosaurs.

I forgot how long the sibling pining goes on for…. Or how cringey it was. It’s much harder to brush that plot line off and pretend it doesn’t exist in the graphic novels lol.

Still a fun story! I could see how this would be confusing if you haven’t read the books before, but it’s not missing too too much.
