Rosalie's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

This book was a compilation of 20 mini stories, from a multitude of authors, that covered almost every female erotic fantasy imaginable (and some that you haven't even thought of that WILL make you go hmmmmm).

I will say that this book is EXTREMELY hard to write a review for. With such short stories though, I was able to become fully engrossed in ALL of them, before they finished. This read varied with topics from dom/sub, threesomes, individual wants and desires that some might think are too taboo to talk about, and even a robot fantasy. This read really made me think about my sex life and how I could amp it up! I will say that a couple of my favorite stories in the book had to do with women accepting themselves as gorgeous sexual creatures. This book opens up all kinds of avenues for women. Women don't come in the same shape or size, which makes the world wonderful.

Every person has their flaws in their bodies, probable even Victoria Secret models. This book showed women that cast aside what they felt were their flaws to reveal and find their inner vixen. Absolutely loved it!!

I received an advance copy of this collection in exchange for an honest review. Fair warning: this is my first time receiving an advanced copy like this.

Overall, in terms of mastery of the craft combined with the variety of stories presented, I am giving this collection five stars. "Leo Rising" by Suleikha Snyder stood out to me as highly intimate and supremely sexy, with careful attention on the second person point of view.

There's something for everyone here. I think it would be wildly sexy for women to choose their favorite selections and read them aloud to their partners.

Happy reading!

Review:
“His eyes don’t leave me for a second while he reaches behind himself to shut the door. The tension between us is electric; his fingers singe my skin.”

5 self discovery stars!! Each story was hotter and dirtier than the next!

In this anthology, we get 21 different romance/erotic stories. And while I can’t pick a favorite, because I loved each one for their own reasons, I will say that this book is hot!! I loved that each story, shows the women have different fantasies and sexual wants. And that it’s okay to have those fetishes, wants, fantasies, etc. I don’t think I can go on anymore regarding how much I loved this book, without ruining it for everyone, but trust me this is one book you won’t put down!! Go grab it now!!

I received an advanced reader copy from the editor in exchange for an honest review, and I am so glad that I did! I read this in its entirety during a long road trip and it kept me wide awake and wishing it wouldn't end. Each break I took from reading made me wish for more. The various authors portrayals of the longing a person can feel when they want something so much they absolutely have to have it were so satisfying. The realistic, well-written scenarios about the fulfillment of fantasies and satiated desires opened something up in me and made me examine what I want in my own sexual relationships. I highly recommend this volume - it is beautiful, arousing, and nearly impossible to put down. Cleis Press and Rachel Kramer Bussel have never disappointed me, and this anthology is one of their best.

Actual rating: 3.7 stars.

Alright, so normally as I read these anthologies, I put down a rating for each story in my status updates. This book was no exception. The overall rating comes from the average rating of all the stories. Each little story has its own quick little blurb concerning my feelings about that story.

Here goes:

"Symphony" - Fantastic. 5 Stars. A COMPLETELY original twist on erotica. Something I have never seen done before, and DONE WELL! 100% sexy.

"Tabitha the Cat" - 4 Stars. Not my particular kink cup of tea, but VERY well written, and super exciting to read about. Made me tingly in all the right places.

"Leo Rising" - 5 Stars. Favorite so far. Short, but very teasing and steamy. Proves that less can be more"

"Orcas" - 3 Stars. This one did not really do it for me. It was a good story, well-written and the money shot, as they say, was not bad at all. But after the first three stories in the book, this one just did not do it for me. Too much going on in the character's head that wasn't really going on in reality... it got to be a bit predictable. Still. Not a bad story by any means.

"Morning's Come - 5 Stars. I love Sommer Marsden's work. She always comes up with the most exciting, naughty, titillating scenarios for her stories, and this one is no exception. It also helps that the particular fetish of the character is one that I tend to share. :-p Hot, steamy, and wonderful. I read it twice in a row. ;-)

"Babes - Meh. This one wasn't for me. Too unrealistic and unlikely to happen. I like stories that I can actually imagine myself being a part of in my own, every day life. This one was a bit ludicrous. I liked the idea of the story, but in practice, it just did not work out. I was too wrapped up in thinking how, "That would NEVER actually happen" to actually enjoy the story. I can't even give this one a star.

"Entre Nous" - 4 stars. A nice little bathroom stall quickly that focuses on enhancing pleasure through silence and denying one's own sexual sounds. Very interesting, and not something that I have ever really thought about. Though now that I have, I really want to try it and see what it does for me. Oh, and it was VERY steamy, so that is a definite plus. :-p

"Dollymop" - FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY! Sorry to say it, but "Leo Rising" has just been knocked out of the "my favorite so far" slot. "Dollymop" is the perfect erotic story. It is incredibly sexy and hot as hell, but more than that, it is empowering and enlightening and inspiring. Plus, it has one of my favorite things in the whole world as a central theme -- CORSETS! I absolutely LOVED this story. Loved it. Loved it! LOVED IT!!

"Best Laid Plans" - Meh. 2 Stars because it was well written, but I REALLY couldn't get into it. Blame it on my vegetarian nature, but there was just WAAAY too much meat talk going on in this one for my taste.

"Lipstick" - 5 Stars. Great story, plus it really does it for me because I absolutely love transvestites and transgendered persons. HUGE turn on for me.

"Rediscovery" - 3 stars - Not bad at all, but I did not get into it as much as some of the other stories in the volume.

"A Proven Therapeutic Act" - 3 stars - Again, not at all a bad story, just not necessarily my cup of kink.

"Caught" - 4 stars - All around good story.

Okay, now at this point, I lost the book for a while (which I say again in just a second.) Up until this point, I had read through all of these stories in a matter of DAYS, but then, I lost the book. (Which is why it says I started this book in June and did not finish it until December. That is actually true, but it is not because I just didn't like it and put it aside. I LOST IT!) Anyway. Carrying on...

I lost this book for a while. This one and "The Stand". Right in the middle of both, and I lose them. I found them tonight in a box of books I had meant to take to sell. SO GLAD I found them. Picked this one back up immediately and began reading where I left off.

"Jane's Fantasy" - 4 stars. Not generally my thing, but yet, strangely arousing.

"Self Denial" - Meh. 2 stars and that is being generous. Wasn't into that one at all. Didn't like the idea behind it and didn't like the writing style either.

"Ruthless" - Five stars! More if I could give it more. Best story in the collection thus far -- it even won out over the lovely "Dollymop" story, which I was sure would not be topped. The bit with the dart and the proposed piercing... the whole scene with the dart, in fact. Unbeatable. So hot. I read this one twice, and I was VERY, VERY pleased with it both it times. :-p

"Sucker" - 3.5. A nice, quick read. Not bad.

"Apple Thighs" - 4.5 stars. Very nice. Very much like something I might write myself.

"Little Girl Blue" - 4 stars. Nice story. Easy for me to connect emotionally with Elise.

"Do Robots Breathe?" - 3 stars for sex appeal. 5 stars for creepiness. Ha. I know that is not the actual direction it was aiming for, but this one truly have me the heebie jeebies."

All in all, the stories averaged out at a rating of 3.7. Not bad at all for an erotica collection. (I reserve my five stars for epic fantasies and science fiction novels, and while I LOVE reading erotica, it usually never gets more than 2.5 to 3 stars from me. This one was exceptionally well done.) Kudos, once again, Ms. Bussel, for publishing CONSISTENTLY good stories to stimulate and titillate. :-p

Okay erotica

It wasn't as hot as I thought it would be but it was enjoyable none the less. It does have a wide range of story types but the main theme carried through out is that all women are unique and beautiful no matter what they look like or what they desire.

I just finished reading Rachael Kramer Bussel’s collection of short stories she edited and have to share my love and excitement over these stories. The book is called “Begging for It” and contains 21 torrid stories of erotica. The book says it is erotic fantasies for women, but I found them just as stirring as a male reader. While the word begging is in the title, don't think these are all submissive females on their knees. These are a mix of strong women all seeking some sort of satisfaction and fulfillment.

Stories like Orcas by Regina Kammer is a hot piece of writing where the female uses a hot tub and a bike rider she met grab onto what she needs out of her vacation. D.l. King’s story ‘A Proven Theraputic Fact’ is another sexy tale of a take charge women delivering the wellness that a satisfying spanking can bring. The collection includes an outstanding sci fi sex fantasy called “Do Robots Breathe?” by Tamsin Flowers. It lets your mind (or fingers) wonder about the future of sex toys.
These aren’t the only exciting stories but just some of the gems that Rachael Kramer Bussel has mined for this wonderful collection. Read it, enjoy it, savior it and share it with someone special if you can.

Rachel is my go to for kinky anthology reads. I have a heard time putting them down because the stories are so interesting and good. It could be used a some kind of play book for constructing a nice bdsm scene.

Another great anthology from the wonderful Ms. Bussel. There’s a little bit of everything in this erotic anthology so anyone should be able to find quite a few morsels that they enjoy. If you enjoy stories of submission, don’t hesitate to pick this one up!

I received an ARC of this anthology from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This is a review of the audio book version of Begging For It. Full disclosure: I'm an author in this anthology.
I enjoyed listening to the book. The narrator did a great job of pulling me, the listener, into each story. I loved how she interpreted the characters and action, and found the humor in my own story, "Orcas" -- I laughed out loud while listening to it!
My favorite story was "Rediscovery" by Hedonist Six. So profoundly realistic.
There is a something for every taste in this anthology. Lots of sexy reads.
Enjoy!
