This is a Medical Romance, and this is the first book in the Nashville ER series. I really loved this book. The beginning pulled me into the story, and I loved the two main characters in this book. There was a ton of character development. The romance in this book started out has friends with benefits, but we all know it does not end like that. I found this book so cute, and I really love the hospital parts in this book. I also love the characters working through there issues together. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Medical Romance) or author (Annie O'Neil) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Avery is a nurse and she gets the kiss of her life when the ball drops at New Year's. Although she is sure to never forget the kiss, she certainly never expected to meet the sexy tranger again. However, when Dr. Carter shows up in her ER, those strong feelings soon will not be able to be denied. However, they both have baggage and despite their super strong attraction, one that simply cannot be denied, Carter has very sensitive circumstances that pretty much negates any chance at a happy ending between them. Avery has her own issues and it is those very issues that led to her first meeting with Carter.

How can the pair deal with their attraction on a professional level while at the hospital, all while navigating difficult personal circumstances? That is what readers will discover in this highly emotional story. In fact, it was the story that was secondary to the brewing romance that really snagged my attention. I love how this story dealt with serious illness as well as family drama, and how everything was able to be resolved in a more than believable manner. This is one of those stories where it was more than easy to become emotionally invested in the characters. This sensitive medical romance was an excellent first book in what promises to be an endearing series.

Many thanks to Harlequin Medical Romance and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

An emotional story that kept me hooked from beginning to end. I loved the first meeting between Carter and Avery. It was New Year's Eve, and she was riding a mechanical bull, trying to win the cash prize. One sight of the handsome stranger intently focused on her, and she lost her concentration and her seat. I loved Carter's offer to win it for her and his understanding of her reaction. In the end, Avery succeeded, and they shared an intense midnight kiss. Then Avery walked away, never expecting to see him again.

Fate, of course, had other plans. The next day Avery, a nurse practitioner at Nashville's busy ER, gets a shock during the welcoming of new hires. One of them is Dr. Carter Booth, the sexy stranger from the night before. The tension between them is off the charts as Avery gives Carter a tour and assists with his first couple of cases. It isn't long before they have to admit there is something between them

I loved seeing the relationship develop between Carter and Avery. It starts as a no-strings fling between friends. Carter is upfront about his inability/unwillingness to do any long-term commitments. His younger sister is in prison and also suffers from a chronic disease. She frequently gets in trouble and is moved to another prison, and Carter follows along to the closest hospital. She is the only family he has, and his protectiveness runs deep. Avery also avoids relationships. She still grieves the death of her sister two years earlier. She has locked up her emotions between her grief and being dumped in her last relationship. But as the weeks go on and they spend time together, something more than attraction builds between them. I loved seeing them open up and share things they'd never told anyone else. The support and understanding they have for each other are fantastic.

When an incident at the hospital breaks the walls Avery built around her emotions, Carter was there to pick up the pieces. I loved how he helped her rediscover her music and the big decision she made because of it. Then a medical crisis involving Carter's sister causes him to pull away from Avery. I wanted to shake him for his unkind words before walking out and ached for Avery and her heartbreak. I loved the lecture he got from his sister, who'd gone through some changes in her own outlook, and called him an idiot for walking away from Avery. It was an eye-opening experience for Carter, and I loved its effect on him. His big moment at the end was sweet and emotional.

As is usual with Harlequin's Medical line, a few medical issues played significant parts in the story. They were well done without overshadowing the romance. The detail was sufficient for the seriousness of the scene without feeling like I was reading a textbook. I always seem to learn something new from one of these books.

Two strangers, in a contemporary romance that started with this
A mechanical bull, a prize and then a New Year Kiss!
What a surprise when they discover
They're starting to work with each other!

As attraction grows in the ER
Is this a romance that'll go far?
Both are struggling because of their sister though
The reasons for this are very different - read it and you'll know.

This story deals with some difficult problems, it's true,
From coping with grief, family drama and life threatening illness, too.
Re-learning to live and to start anew
Somehow inspiring yourself - and others - to do.

A heartwarming read, which deals with fears,
Knowing when to help and how to deal with tears.
It is a story of looking a life from a different perspective and then
Being prepared to take risks with your heart to start again.

For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
I throughly enjoyed reading it and this is my honest review.

I felt wonderfully invested in this from the first few pages. Love the couples meet cute and it develops from there and maintained my interest throughout. Love the Cinderella reference. This doesn't shy away from real issues too making the characters seem even more real and relatable.
Great fun, imaginative.

O'Neil pulls the heart out of its comfort zone. Carter and Avery made me forget my aversion to medical romances and get lost in the heartache and drama of their story. From yearning attraction to wary emotions, New Year Kiss with his Cinderella is a bountiful journey of heartwarming that sticks to the heart and soul of its reader.

Avery Whittacker is on a mission on New Year's Eve to win the money in the bull riding competition. When a handsome, strange man approaches as she is riding, Avery is distracted and falls off the bull. She is still in the lead but she is not happy. When the handsome stranger introduces himself as Carter Booth and offers to win the money for her, she is even more mad. Carter quickly realizes this as he is riding the bull and manages to just fall off a few seconds before Avery's time. Avery realizing what Carter did ends up giving him a kiss at midnight as a thank you and the kiss rocks both of their worlds.

Imagine Avery's surprise when she is introduced to the new Dr. on the hospital staff....Dr. Carter Booth! These two are both surprised to see the other but at the same time are both reliving that sizzling kiss until pretty soon these two can't keep their hands off of each other. Everything seems perfect except for the fact that because of things going on in his life with his sister, he ends up having to move constantly to another town so he never wants to commit to anything serious. For once in his life he may have found something worth sticking around for.

I enjoyed this sweet hospital romance. Carter and Avery were both characters that were easily likeable. It was also interesting learning about some of the medical things that were talked about in the book.

New Year Kiss with His Cinderella by Annie O'Neil delights the heart and the spirit. From the flirty verbal salvos to the picture-perfect ending, Dr. Carter and Nurse Avery have great chemistry and undeniable compatibility. They have such a cute meet and share a kiss on New Year’s Eve. The pair assume that this kiss in the start and the end of their connection. However, when Carter arrives at his new job at Saint Dolores’s ER, he finds that Avery is an integral part of the staff there. They are unable to resist their growing attraction but know that there is no longevity to this relationship. Avery is grappling with the loss of her singing partner and sister, while Carter is trying to save his self-destructive sister. One of the nicest aspects of this stellar story was how honest Avery and Carter were about their situations. In the hands of a lesser author, the pair would have stumbled around telling half truths and fostering misunderstandings. Carter has spent the last several years of his life trailing behind his sister as she makes a shambles of her life; he has no room for love or commitment. Then why does it feel like he CAN make a home and a commitment with Avery?
Thank you to NetGalley and HARLEQUIN - Romance for this ARC for an honest opinion!

It started out as an innocent kiss on New Year’s Eve and turned out to be something much more than that. Nurse Avery Whitacker is shocked when she walks into the ER the next day and there is the man she kissed on New Year’s. Dr. Carter is just as stunned as Avery.

Avery is dealing with the grief of losing her sister to cancer, while Carter is dealing with his sister who has her own illness. Despite their emotional problems, the two of them are very much attracted to each other. The air sizzles when they are in the same vicinity. Unfortunately, neither of them can put aside their personal issues and find their own happiness.

This is the perfect emotional read for this time of year. Both main characters are likeable. Their internal battles are realistic. My heart tore for both of them. I could totally understand their motivation and I was cheering for them until the end.

It’s a story with real-to-life situations and it pulls on the heartstrings.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Mills and Boon in return for an honest review.

This is a beautifully written book with characters who really come to life. Carter and Avery are instantly attracted to one another and decide to embark on a brief, no strings fling. Both of them have deep wounds to deal with. Carter.is sister is I’ll and off the rails and he feels he has to put her first in everything. Avery lost her sister to cancer and is still grieving.

Of course their relationship develops and they fall in love but Carter still feels unable to let go of his self imposed responsibility to his sister. He and Avery break up but thankfully his sister has seen the light, realises how self destructive she has been and tells Carter to get back to Avery.

I loved the first two thirds of the book but was less happy with the last third. Carter’s reasoning seems totally illogical to me and I agreed with Avery when she told him he could have a life too. That he didn’t have to give up on love for himself.

I loved the way this author developed their relationship even whilst I struggled with the hero’s motivation.

Better Than Described. The actual second meeting of our lead couple is actually much better than described here - they meet on New Year's Eve night randomly at a mechanical bull ride, share a magical moment there as the clock winds down on the year, then the next day, the narrative focus is on her at work when a bunch of newbies are introduced... including the man she kissed at midnight and thought she'd never see again. Yes, this is a dual narrative tale, and it absolutely works here. Both of our leads are caring medical professionals with deeply troubling (and very real) issues outside of the hospital, and the drama here is fairly tight. As is typical with much of the genre, this does include a few sex scenes, so the clean/ sweet crowd... eh, this probably won't be for you. For everyone else... those scenes are fairly well done. Enough to get the pulse racing without being *too* problematic if someone sees/ hears what you're reading. ;) Overall a solid romance featuring great, Hallmarkie type characters. Very much recommended.

“So long, Carter Booth. May your ride into the sunset be as beautiful as your behind.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Avery was letting loose on a rodeo bull trying to win the cash prize when she met Carter’s eye and tumbled off. They hit it off and started New Years with a kiss full of sparks. She walked away without leaving her number, thinking she’d never see him again she was shocked to see him the following day as her new colleague! Enter juicy rom-com.

I really liked this book. It was short and sweet, so I was able to read it in just one day. The characters were well thought out and the tragic backgrounds on both sides was an added bonus, they were relatable, and easy to like !

This was a really, easy romance story that I flew through, but I just have this niggling feeling that something was missing. Maybe there wasn’t enough resistance throughout, maybe not enough drama. I can’t put my finger on it, however I just loved that it was a lightweight, easy read.

Thank you to @millsandboonuk, @annieoneilauthor and @netgalley for providing me with a copy!

A mechanical bull and a kiss were enough to tie the hearts of Carter and his beautiful Cinderella Avery.

Carter has a wandering life so he doesn't get attached easily to any place and even less to a person but after exchanging a chilling kiss with sweet Avery he starts to have feelings that he hadn't experienced before.

Avery needs money to fulfill her sister's dream but she never imagined that taming a mechanical bull would lead her to exchange the best kiss of her life.

They both have a pain they can't get out of their chest, but will they be able to overcome their sadness together?

I love romances that are sweet, light and at the same time complex, this book brings it all and a little more with a message about knowing how to fight for what you love, protecting and caring for those you love and knowing how to recognize love.

I loved the interaction between the couple and the way the writer knew how to make me connect and root for the couple in addition to sighing a lot with exchange of affection between them.

I was provided a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.

I signed up to participate in this blog tour post for this month's Harlequin blog tour and I thought this book sounded interesting so I signed up to read it. I liked some pieces of this book, but I have to say I didn't love it. It was my first medical romance and I definitely liked that aspect of it and trying something new. I just couldn't really get into the plot or the characters emotionally and the book ended up kind of dragging for me. I still think it's interesting and is worth the read but it wasn't my favorite.

New Year Kiss with His Cinderella is a quick read, but what it lacks in pages, it more than makes up for in emotion. Annie O'Neil tackles some big stuff in this medical romance, and as Carter and Avery work through their issues, I fell more and more in love with them as a couple. By the last part of the book, I was completely invested in this couple getting their happy ever after. The story is a great combination of fun and feels, and it's completely engaging from start to finish. A great way to spend a cold winter's night.

This is part of the Nashville ER series and since I live right outside of Nashville, I had to order it right away. Annie O'Neil introduces us to two fantastic characters - Avery and Carter. The author's character development is superb. You really feel for these two characters as they go through their internal and external conflicts. On top of that, this was the sweetest story and so entertaining.

A heart tugging read

A beautiful story of love, loss & rebuilding. Caring for others is soothing to the soul; finding the one who opens your eyes & your heart is as precious as time itself. The main point of this story is cherish the time you have with the life you're given.
