When the Amicable grain elevator explodes, the town is left in shock and disbelief as their livelihoods are threatened. In order for the town to recover, the elevator's damage must be assessed by Baker Insurance and their lead investigator, Stedman Boswell. As the cocky, young insurance adjustor drives his Porsche into Amicable, Leo Jensen, a butcher and amateur psychologist, recognizes that Boswell has no intention of helping the town recover. As the town protects itself against the outside threat, misadventures and follies occur threatening the fabric of the town's survival. Will neighbor turn against neighbor, friend against friend? Will Baker come out on top? Baker is the second book in the Amicable Series.

The amicable series continues. When an explosion kills one of their own, big city insurance assessor Stedman arrives jn town to "assess" the claim with a view to minimise the payout. The town has other ideas!

Small town life is interesting. This book was a quaint yet insightful look inside the small town of Amicable. It has a good storyline with good character development. The author had insightful perspectives on the dilemmas and plights of the people in Amicable.
Onto the next book in the series!

I really enjoy all three of these books in this series. Growing up in a small town, I could really relate to the characters.

What an awful book. The author made a mockery of small town Iowa and its residents. Not only that, it was poorly written and predictable.
