The nomad life calls to me, as does the drive to hunt a dark soul. On the road, the last thing I expect to discover is an unconscious woman. Finding her on the brink of death sends a pang to my chest, and with it comes clarity. I want her to be mine.
It’s a mystery how she ended up on death’s door, one I’m determined to explore. There’s more to Aura than meets the eye, but I knew that from the moment I touched her. Lies and lust, beauty and betrayal, all of it is a price I’m willing to pay. I’ll do anything to keep her. Anything. After all, I’m no prince, and this is no fairytale.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5)
Trope: fairytale retelling
Angst: 😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥

Hunter, bounty hunter in the VII Knights MC, finds Aura in the woods, barely alive he is determined to protect her from whatever threat she is facing. Aura has spent years in the woods, but suffers from amnesia. With little to go on, they try to figure out her identity while keeping her safe.

Super cute and entertaining read. I REALLY liked the idea of the story and how the Sleeping Beauty elements were woven in, but wish the characters had a little more depth. Philip was very good at the instalove super protector and she completely fulfilled the ultra innocent, I've been living in the woods heroine, but that was most of what you saw out of them. Still an entertaining and great for a palette cleanser between heavier reads.

Hunter is a complete standalone in the interconnected VII Knights MC series written by different authors. It is told in first person, from dual perspective.

Hunter & Aura were an okay read for me. I felt like I just wanted more alpha action from Hunter. Hunter is a bounty hunter & stumbles across Aura when she’s hurt. He ends up caring for her & from their the feelings bloom. I liked how protective he was of her but again I just wanted him to SHOW me on page instead of just his thoughts.

This is an MC romance & sometimes they don’t always hit well for me. I liked the dynamic of this book & the plot twists were a nice addition. It made their story more lively for sure. It just wasn’t my favorite read with MC.

This book came in hot with an alpha antihero who took "possessive" to a whole new level. Hunter is intense, obsessive, and absolutely not taking no for an answer. If you love your romances fast, steamy, and a little unhinged, this one definitely brings the drama.

So why 3 stars? Some parts felt rushed, and I wanted more depth—more time to really feel the connection between the characters instead of just being told it was there. Also, Hunter’s over-the-top possessiveness? Borderline red flag behavior. But hey, in fiction, we sometimes let it slide.

📖 Read if you love:
✔️ Alpha heroes who don’t do chill
✔️ Fast, steamy romance with a touch of danger
✔️ A little bit of chaos with your love story

The VII Knights MC series is an interconnected series of loosely based fairy tales. Each of the seven books is written by a different author and can be read as standalone biker romances. Hunter is the fifth book in the series written by author Sapphire Knight, and it is loosely based on Sleeping Beauty.

Phillip “Hunter” is a bounty hunter who enjoys living off the radar. He’s close to his MC brothers, but he enjoys his space and lives as a nomad within the club. While on a mission, Hunter discovers Aura, who is lost and hurt. While caring for her, he feels a strong pull and makes it his mission to assist her. However, they soon find several challenges along the way.
Hunter was an exciting tale, and I enjoyed all of the twists along the way. Now, I’m looking forward to the next adventure in the series!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

The nomad life calls to me, as does the drive to hunt a dark soul. On the read the last thing I expect to discover is an unconscious woman. Finding her on the brink of death sends a pang to my chest, and with it comes clarity. I want her to be mind. It's a mystery how she ended up to death's door, one I'm determined to explore. This is another great addition to the VII Knight collection. I have love all the ones I have read before Hunter and I am sure I will love the ones that follow. After all you have seven authors writing seven standalone books in a MC series. What isn't to love about that. This is the story of Hunter who is a Bounty Hunter. He just so happens upon a hurt Aura. Of course he can't leave her so he takes her back and nurses her to health and the feelings start to grow. I loved witnessing them catch feeling and those feelings started to grow. If you like angst it is in there. Twists and turns you get those too. I loved reading this book and couldn't put it down.

This is an adult version of a familiar fairy tale. The Prologue is a big hint – so make sure not to skip over it. Hunter’s first encounter will seal the deal. Aura knows that things have changed, just not why. I was glad to see more of a suspense with this version.

I grew up with the Disney version and don’t even try to compare the two. Our author has made this her own. The hero is supposed to be affiliated with an MC but I didn’t think that it had much to do with this tale. The only indication is when we see some of the secondary characters. Some of that could be because of the type of fairy tale.

There were a couple of times where I felt there was a gap in the story but that could be because the author was trying to stay within a certain length to her story. Because we don’t get to see much of the secondary characters, I was left wanting to know more of the women that Aura grew up with as well as the men that Hunter hangs out with. I was a little confused about Aura and part of that was probably because of how she grew up and I felt it should have affected some of her interactions with Hunter. I enjoyed one of the author’s other stories so I look forward to checking out more of her work.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Good story idea, but felt lacking. I haven't read other stories by this author so I'm unsure if this is her usual writing style. I didn't get "alpha male" vibes from Hunter. There were times I felt it was close but not quite there.
Hunter was protective of Aura but had more thoughts than actions for me.

I wanted to like the characters but they felt a little one dimensional, not much growth through the story. I really wanted to like the story, this is the first Sleeping Beauty retelling I've come across. But it didn't measure up to the other stories in the VII Knights series, for me.

Hunter is affiliated with VII Knights MC, and he also manages his own business as a bounty hunter. When he comes across Aura in the woods barely breathing, he is determined to not only rescue her but claim her as his own.

Aura has spent years in the wood and doesn’t have a lot of recollection about her past. The one thing she does know is that Hunter makes her feel safe but the danger from her past is far from over.

Suspense, romance and a few surprises you don’t see coming as Hunter and Aura fight for their love and each other.

This was a short, fast read.
For me personally I've read this author for years and this felt a bit rushed.
Yes all details are there and all questions are answered, I just know and adore this authors work when she shines.
In saying that, that doesn't stop this book from being a good addition to this multi author series.
Definitely loved this couple together hence I would of loved more but you definitely won't finish feeling dissatisfied, especially if you're after a quick read that you'll race through.

Sadly, this didn't hit its mark. Character and story development was far too superficial for my liking. I've read and loved this author's books before, so I'll definitely read her again, hoping this was a one-off.

This book was good for what it was supposed to be, but I have to say, I'm a jaded reader and I had a lot of eye rolling moments. Perhaps if I'd read this 10 years ago it would be great ... So, it's me, not the book. Overall a good story though.

Hunter VII Knights MC by Sapphire Knight is the first book I am reading in this interconnected series. This story was a fast paced intense, raw, dark gritty storyline with a modern Sleeping Beauty twist.

Hunter is a nomad member of the VII Knights MC and spends his time managing his business as a bounty hunter. When he encounters Aura in the woods hardly breathing, his protective nature kicks in as he is driven to save and protect this young woman. When he takes her to his home he discovers she is on the brink of death due to a allergy. Aura is this innocent young beauty who has spent years in the woods, has amnesia and can't tell him how she ended up living in the forest, all she can remember are the three young women she lived with as they struggled to survive. But one look at Hunter, Aura is drawn to him and views him as her protector.

So many twists and turns in this story that is full of lies, danger, betrayal and steamy romance. With the information Aura is able to give him, Hunter discovers Aura's identity, her family and his connection to her. Hunter is torn as he and Aura have become closer, the chemistry between them erupts to a steamy encounter full of passion as they form an insta love connection. Hunter is torn if he tells her the truth, will he lose her? Will Aura want to stay with him? Once Hunter reaches out to Aura's family, the reunion will be bittersweet as Hunter can tell that someone close to Aura is dangerous and may have been the one who took her away all those years. Aura and Hunter argue as they have a misunderstanding which has her walking away from him. Now she is distraught as she feels she may have lost him forever. When Hunter overhears a plot to harm Aura again, he reaches out to his brothers but before he can find Aura he is caught, bound and beaten by the person who is close to Aura. Will he be able to escape to help Aura before she is taken once again? Now Aura knows something bad happened to Hunter can she prove to her family and his brothers that Hunter is missing and is danger? Now we are left with an ending full of suspense, danger and violence as Aura becomes this strong willed woman who will take matters into her own hands to save the man she loves. Sapphire Knight has done an excellent job weaving this tale. Need to read more of the VII Knights MC written by different authors.

What a ride this story takes you on! Hunter is a nomad having affiliations with many different MC clubs. The VII Knights MC needs his help and this is where all the drama begins… and I do mean drama! Never knowing what to expect he expects the unexpected—or so he thought!

The lead characters are great together and their chemistry is combustible but what I liked was that the intimacy didn’t overtake the storyline. Hunter is a nomad because he isn’t really a people person, well not on a constant basis. As a bounty Hunter he does what is expected on jobs then goes back to his home in the mountains trusting very few. Aura is a totally different kettle of fish and one that because of her initial circumstances the author slowly builds her character profile—a good call. This author certainly knows how to build up evil character’s profiles too, enough said, you’ll just have to read the book.

The drama is such that it isn’t in your face ‘look at this’ style drama, instead, it naturally unfolds while the story is told. When the action starts I found myself so completely absorbed I literally couldn’t put the book down and these are two of the reasons for the extra half a star. The anticipation and excitement are exciting, the storyline is interesting and you can’t help but experience each emotion with the characters.

A thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining story I have no hesitation in recommending to everyone.

He saves her and brings her home as she has no recollection about her life she lived.

What he didn't expect was the shock when Aura's real identity is found and how it all connected to his own life.

Oh my... Right from page 1, I was completely taken by this one. To go on an island and then finding this mysterious stranger. Who was she and why did she behave so innocently and kinda like she's lived like a nomad.

There's this scene where it shows how innocent Aura is but also how it makes hunter want her all the more. Hunter gets clothes for Aura and as the door is open goes in to find her naked, he apologises but finds her irresistible and aura innocently asks if it was wrong to keep the door open.

I was really all feeling swoony when I realised the connect between Hunter and Aura and their families. Then there's the mystery of how did Aura happen to be taken away in the first place.
Then there are her friends whom she yearns to find as they had helped each other live together.

AHH. It was sizzling, the Chemistry between Hunter and Aura and I loved the way this one is written as it pulls you in and keeps you turning the pages. Loved loved this one. 🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I've loved every book in the VII Knights MC series so far! I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the standalone. Hunter was my first read by Sapphire Knight, and I loved it so much!

This book was a fast, enjoyable, and steamy read; the storyline, drama, and action throughout the book kept me hooked from the very beginning!

Hunter is a nomad; he enjoys his freedom, living away from everyone, and being alone. Hunter is a bounty hunter, and during one of his jobs, he will stumble upon a mysterious woman who is on the edge of dying, and he will feel a strong need to protect her that he can't understand.

Aura will wake up to most of her memories gone, if not all. There are a lot of unanswered questions that surround her, but one thing she knows is that Hunter is her savior, she feels safe with him, and she feels some inexplicable connection with him from the beginning.

Hunter & Aura have obvious chemistry, but everything makes even more sense once Hunter discovers who Aura is; these two were destined to be for each other since they were younger. I love that side that Hunter shows only for Aura; he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe, and you can feel the love he has for her. Even though Aura doesn't remember everything at first, it is inevitable for her to fall in love with Hunter, and those feelings will keep growing throughout the story. After everything they will go through, Hunter & Aura will get the ending they deserve together.

I recommend this series of standalone, especially if you enjoy a quick MC read.

Hunter: VII Knights MC - Sapphire Knight

3.4/5 Stars! Hunter is a bounty hunter in an MC. While on a mission he finds Aura unconscious and nearly dead in the woods. Something immediately calls to him when he sees her. Aura can't remember much, but she knows she feels safe by Hunter's side. As Hunter tries to track down her missing friends, find her parents, and help he remember her past, Hunter develops a strong feeling to protect Aura. These two will unfold the secrets that lead Aura to the woods.

This is a loose fairytale retelling of sleeping beauty. Aura is sweet, innocent, and a little naïve and great character for anyone who loves an ultra innocent heroine who needs a strong protective male hero. Hunter is sweet, respectful, and a natural born protector. I did wish their love story had a little more time to develop because I would have liked to have developed a little bit stronger feelings towards these two characters. The romance was adorable and their dialogue was almost fairytale like sweet.

This book is a sweet easy read for those who like super sweet innocent heroines with a protective male. It is a shorter novel and has an airy feel for an MC romance that is refreshing. I enjoyed reading it between some heavier reads.

We begin our story with Hunter as he finds Aura alone and not doing well. Hunter is a nomad with affiliations with multiple MC’s which gives him freedom to go where he needs to without questions being asked. Except, he can’t walk away from Aura or his need to protect her. We learn so much about this beautiful woman and the trials of the life she has lead. Bits and pieces of her memories come together and with the help of Hunter she is able to locate others that can help her figure out who she is.

This was my very first book by the author and I truly enjoyed how the characters were written. Hunter doesn’t like people- in fact he has pushed them away more than anything. That is until he gets this desire to protect Aura. Aura, is a struggling but she has such inner strength. I love how the story unfolds as we read and really get to understand just how strong Aura is. This lady has not had it easy and it was so nice to see that no matter what she was dealt she worked through it the best she could. I loved these two together and seeing how it changed Hunter to have her by his side. She brought out a softer side of him, but never tried to stifle who he was. A really fun read.

The VII Knights MC series has been an interesting collection of MC books written by different authors. I like that they have taken traditional fairy tales and made them their own, all set within the MC world.
When starting Hunter by Sapphire Knight, it was obvious this book was a retelling of Sleeping Beauty. Definitely a different choice, but one that fell flat for me. Hunter (aka Phillip) was our Prince and he's a Nomad. When he finds a woman on the brink of death, he has a pull toward her and he must save her. Aura awakens and is not sure of what is going on, but she knows she trusts this man that is a stranger.
The premise was interesting but the characters and the story fell flat. I felt like I was being told about what was happening and didn't feel it or see it. The characters were very one dimensional and had little to no growth. AND I really wanted more of the MC. If you're going to have an MC book, I want more from them. I liked the little we got, but it just wasn't enough.
Overall, this book was not my favorite of the series that I've read, but I'm still looking forward to the last couple.

This was a fun and quick read with a good dose of heat and a few twists and turns that I definitely didn’t see coming, but thoroughly enjoyed in the end.

Hunter and Aura were an interesting pair. Both have interesting pasts and even more interesting presents and what you see on the surface doesn’t even match what is going on underneath. Their journey to their HEA was unique, in more ways than one, but I will say that I really liked them together and am happy with how everything turned out for them.

I know this review is vague, but it has to be because of all the various twists and turns that pop up and to spoil any of them would be a disservice to you as a reader. But, this is a quick read with some really great supporting characters that I wouldn’t mind reading more about at some point in the future.

I'm a huge fan of Sapphire Knight, so I was super excited to read Hunter since I'm a very dark & twisty girl & Ms. Knight feeds it. Hunter is a bounty hunter who finds Aura in the woods, and she's barely alive. Unfortunately, she has no memory of what has happened to her, so while he's decided that he'll protect her, they have very little to go on when they're trying to figure out who she really is. This story was a tad slow for me for a minute so it was hard to stay with it at first since I kept getting distracted. However, as I said before, I love this author so I kept going, and the story hit its stride before too long. It's a MC twist on Sleeping Beauty so there were twists coming in hot as Aura tried to get her memories back. I would hope that y'all will take my review with a grain of salt since it's only my opinion, and actually experience the book for yourselves since at the end of the day, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Hunter’s storyline is akin to that of Sleeping Beauty. But instead of a handsome prince finding a sleeping princess, we have Hunter, a nomad, rugged biker/bounty hunter and an unconscious woman, Aura, he finds while on a job. He has no idea who she is or how she got there, he only feels this need to protect her and claim her for his own. As for Aura, she is a bit of a puzzle, barely remembering much of her own life. However when she wakes and finds herself in Hunter’s care, she feels safe. Something she hasn’t felt in a long time.

Their path isn’t an easy one. Dangers are lurking down the road. Will the two overcome the obstacles or will the past pull them in different directions?

Great addition to the VII Knights MC Collection (all are standalones). Like the others before it, it’s worth grabbing up and enjoying.

Phillip (nickname Hunter) is a bounty hunter. While he’s out on a hunt, he finds a Aura lying on the ground. He thinks she’s dead but she isn’t. He rescues her and cares for her. She can’t remember much but what she does remember Hunter tries to piece together.

Aura realizes that she was kidnapped as a child and the people she thought were her family were also kidnapped. She wants to find her real parents and asks for Hunter’s help. But Hunter may not be telling Aura the truth about her parents or the kidnapping.

Can she trust him when she discovers the truth?

I thought Aura was so playful and carefree. Having grown up in the forest, she has no need for material things and cares about what’s important. Hunter is just a pile of mush for her. I love a badass dude who falls to his knees for his love.

This is the next in a series of interconnected stand alones about the VII Knights MC. The story is loosely based on Sleeping Beauty. Hunter is a bounty hunter and happens upon a very near death Aura. He quickly claims her as his responsibility and helps her to gain her memory back.

Something is just off with the whole story for Aura and Hunter determines he will find the answers they seek. Along the way they begin to care for each other.

The story was so very different from what I love about this author's writing. There really wasn't even much MC action other than Hunter's brothers who he relies on and works with. This was a quick read and as part of the series, it fits in well. I don't know that I would say it was fantastic. But as a fairy tale re-imagined, it was an ok read.

Hunter and Aurora were meant to be together since they were children but things change. Aurora went missing years ago with no hopes of finding her. Hunter is a bounty hunter and was looking for his bounty when he finds a woman unconscious on the island. Aurora wakes up disorientated and lost but feels comfortable and content. Aurora doesn't remember things past or present. Hunter is drawn to her and wants to be with her but keeps his distance. This story is about lost loves finding their way back to each other. I loved how things were mysterious and the twists kept coming. You truly didn't know what was going to happen and who was doing the things until it was shown to us. Great story even with it being a quick read it gave us so much to enjoy. Aurora and Hunter were totally a match made to be together.
I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Let me first start by saying that I typically am not a lover of MC romances , truth be told I’ve only recently started getting back into them . But when I came across Sapphire Knights MC Series it was a no brainer , as she is one my my all time favorite authors. Hunter is a exciting and quick read . It’s steamy and fast paced , full of drama and lots of action . I sat down pretty late in the evening and started reading , I was not prepared for how much I was going to fall in love with Hunter and Aura two characters that will grab onto your emotions, pull at your heartstrings and take you on a emotional rollercoaster ride . I am not going to give a detailed description of the story as I am someone who likes to go into a book with a open mind . What I will say is that once you start you will not be able to stop .I don’t think I’ve devoured a book this quickly In a long time

Hunter is another great addition to the VII Knights MC series by Sapphire Knight and a darker darker version of the classical Sleeping Beauty book.

Hunter is a guy who leaves no stone un-turned he's meticulous when it comes to being a bounty hunter so when he and his team arrive on a remote island to follow some leads he's shocked to find a young women who is barely alive but what strikes Hunter is her pure beauty and when the truth comes out about who Aura is he knows he has to hand her back to her family and hope she's safe without him.

A gripping story line with love, betrayal, truths and lies this book holds so much but it was perfectly written by Sapphire Knight and a definite must read.

Sleeping Beauty retold as both Phillip and Aura as fighters and saviors.

Phillip/Hunter is known for hunting and finding people, when he finds a women in the woods things change. Aura has no memory of where she is and how she got there but her instincts tell her to trust Hunter. This is a lighter motorcycle romance, as it included more of the story of who is Aura and Hunter's connection to her. Each story of the VII Knight have been different, and this had a twist that was different from the others. Aura is innocent but a fighter, living on her own she knows to trust her instinct. Hunter is a rugged wealthy member of society turned motorcycle member who only follow his instincts.

This is fast paced romance that is a fairytale retelling Sleeping Beauty light and twisty!

An interesting take on Sleeping Beauty! This is my first read by Sapphire but I have been following the series - if you haven't read any of the others...do!.
We have Hunter from The VII Knights MC who, while with the other members, come across a girl is basically half way to deaths door!
He brings her home and straight off, he feels a connection to her. They're drawn to each other and when it comes to light as to who she actually is, things take a twist...
Did I love it? No if I'm being honest, I feel that there could have been more to the characters, more developing, it felt a bit rushed at times but it was still a decent read and I would still recommend!

*I voluntarily received an arc and this is my honest review. 3.
