The Odyssey Duet #1

The Fall of Troy

Rate this book
From bestselling author Dr. Rebecca Sharp comes an enemies-to-lovers epic romance with a forbidden twist...

Love is angry. Love is blind.
Love is envious and loathful.
And I loathed Léo Baudin. My new art professor. My enemy.
I didn't move to Rhode Island for this. I came to forget the Troian Milanovic I'd left behind and start fresh where the damage and betrayal couldn't follow.
But Professor Baudin wouldn't let me.

Cold. Caustic. Captivating. He didn't just push my buttons...
He lit them all up with the indifferent smirk of an aristocratic French asshole.
But how much I loathed him only made my need for him stronger. To have him would be either victory or loss. There would be no compromise.
To have him would be war.

So I fought back. But I was Troy, and he was the wooden horse, full of dangerous secrets I never saw coming.
I was the one who invited him inside my walls, celebrating without seeing through his disguise. And under the cover of darkness, he laid siege to my body, my mind, and finally, my heart.

The first may be a myth, but this time the history books would show that if Troy fell, it was with her all.

The Fall of Troy is the first book in the Odyssey Duet.

Rebecca Sharp always loved a good love story. Let's face it, when you include a romance novel on your 8th grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn't!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. There's really no corner of romance that she doesn't (or wouldn't) enjoy writing, except maybe aliens, much to her husband's dismay, so her large catalog features a little something for everyone. However, her love of shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds makes her favorite stories to write the ones with some kind of suspense and crime solving.

When she's not writing, she's at her office treating patients, and somewhere between those two things, you'll find her wandering the globe with her husband always searching for their next adventure.

Unputdownable, unarguably one of the best teacher/student books I've read, undeniably hot, unbelievably outstanding!! Image and video hosting by TinyPic

THE FALL OF TROY: Is the first full length romance novel in new to me author 'Rebecca Sharp's 'Odyssey Duet' Spoken in 'Dual perspectives.'

Eighteen year old freshman Troian Milanovic aka 'Troy' has had a lot to deal with in the past year, being a semester behind her fellow students she's starting over fresh at Rhode Island School of Design. She's not here to make friends. She's here to buckle down and prove to her parents even though they are divorced that she is worthy.

Professor Leo Baudin has basically been exiled out of Paris, after throwing a chisel at a student didn't bode well hence why he's currently filling in at Rhode Island. A man cloaked in darkness not able to let go of his past, not able to move forward, life is at a standstill.

The connection between these two bleed off the pages into my heart, the hate oozed from their barbs, the sexual chemistry sizzled and stewed in the background. Both steepled in so much anger which was their undong, it's what called to the other's soul.

I was drawn to her like a f#cking shark to the scent of blood. She made me rabid with the need to consume her and her poorly concealed anger.

F#ck me to China and Back, this was all kinds of hot!! My body feels like it's been dipped in tar!! Hot, sweaty, ready to combust!! The sex scenes in this were hotter than hell, they were scorching!!

Student teacher books if done right like this one are my kryptonite. And this one was perfection at its very best. I devoured this in a matter of hours, life outside of this book ceased to exist. For an unknown author to me to bring me a favourite read this year is rare!! Her writing is outstanding, her ability to make me connect so effortlessly with the characters and the storyline within the very first page or so shows true talent. This author has set the bar really high when it comes to this genre.

This ticked all the boxes, I giggled (Kevin) I swooned, I panted, I cringed, I loved, this book had it all, from enemies to lovers, a forbidden romance to boot, throw in the age gap and you have yourself a winner right there!! BUT wait there's more what's a book without angst, because this author knocked it out of the ballpark!! This has everything us bookhoes crave!!
So hard to convey into words how much I loved this, no matter what I write it won't do this book justice. Just take my word for it and #oneclick release day, seriously you won't regret it!!

This is undoubtedly my favorite Rebecca Sharp book. She blew it completely out of the park with this one. It was so heartbreakingly beautiful. I didn’t want to stop reading. It’s not just a love story, it’s an odyssey. It’s epic and angsty and full of forbidden love, which Rebecca Sharp excels at, along with one of the best assholes she’s written. You will hate him, you will love him and then at the end of the day you can’t help but root for them. I’m so ecstatic to see how this amazing duet ends.

I'm a big fan of Sharp's work, and The Fall of Troy is hands-down, her best work to date.
Heart-twisting angst and angry, forbidden love come together in Sharp's mastery of poetic storytelling to take the reader on a ride that will haunt them.

Nobody does alphaholes quite like Sharp, and you will both love and loathe Leo just like Troy does.
Troy's broken soul is a perfect match for Leo's and their twisted relationship is both harsh and beautiful. I cannot wait to see how the rest of their story plays out.

The Fall of Troy is the first book in The Odyssey Duet and it was perfection.
A sexy age gap romance between an angry French Professor and a traumatized young woman; I knew I loved this story within the first chapter.

Crossing paths at a cafe, a bookstore, a bar and then the classroom, Leo and Troian never stood a chance. Too many coincidences not to be fated, these two broken souls destined for each other.

Neither Leo or Troian were looking for solace; both were comfortable in their anger. They were barely existing, consumed by grief. Yet the attraction they both felt from their very first encounter would either revive or destroy them.

“Aux objets répugnants nous trouvons des appas." - "In the things we loathe become the things we love."

Leo and Troian had demons from their past, that neither could move on from. Betrayal at the core of it. Although these two lusted for each other, it was toxic yet cathartic.
This book was beautifully written with the magical backdrop of French Art and Poetry. This story will consume you while you are navigating through all the pain and suffering, but good luck putting it down....

"We stared at each other, fighting to understand what had just happened—and fighting to not want more of it. He was cruel. I was crazy. Our ending would be tragic."

It would be an absolute honor to have you as my guest on my blog too. Stop by anytime you want :)

this is giving me more ‘no 🤢’ than ‘whoa 😏’ lol.

i mean, if you want a book that only focuses on the physical side of a “relationship,” then this will totally do it for you. but this was a miss for me for a couple of reasons. the characters are two-dimensional. there is no plot. the writing is mediocre. and the characters barely spend any time getting to know each another that, when they start professing their love for one another, i laughed. do they find each other attractive? sure. the narrative makes that totally obvious because thats all it focuses on. but in love with each other they are not. which makes the whole teacher/student dynamic between go from exciting taboo to just straight up icky. i think with that kind of topic an author really needs to sell a deeper connection and this doesnt do that.

so its a no thanks from me.

His attempts to destroy me were the only things that kept me fighting to save myself.
Lots of raw talent here! So take my rounding down with a grain of salt.

Plot: After an emotionally traumatic event, Troian moves to Rhode Island to live with her mother and start college. She meets her French art professor, who's a total jackass. Sparks fly and temptation begins.

First, the positives:

(1) The lyrical writing! There were many wonderful flashes of brilliance:
His jaw locked tight. Restraint was gone, he was only clinging to its shadow.
(2) The heroine: Troian was well-portrayed as a depressed 18 year old; slightly obsessive, immature, and self-absorbed.
I was trying to fade away, dissolve in the darkness inside me.
(3) The hero: Leo! What a cranky bastard. He was abrasive, jaded, and weary with life. I loved that he didn't only lash out at Troy, he was an equal opportunity asshole.
I provoked her to punish us both.
(4) The dirty talk: OMG, the things that came out of Leo's mouth were incredibly trashy/raunchy/filthy! Good stuff.
"I want my cock to be the only thing your hot cunt knows how to fit inside her."
(5) Their chemistry/taboo aspect: Granted the story was a bit OTT, but overall, I really liked the way these two fit together.
"People like you and me, Troian, we don't get what we want."
Which brings me to the negatives, all of which revolved around the LACK OF AN EDITOR.

(1) The lyrical writing. It overwhelmed the story. There were just too many metaphors and similes, and some of it even came across as non-sensical. I had to re-read a lot of sentences, which would pull me out of the story.
...blue eyes so deep that Jules Verne must have pulled them up from twenty thousand leagues under the sea just so there would be something that would reach the bottom of his soul.
(2) The repetition. The dialogue, their inner thoughts, their actions just looped around and around and around.

(3) The premise: many of the plot devices used to move the story along didn't quite make sense. For example: Troian living with her mother. Or her working Or sweeping this completely under the rug. And this?

(4) The general lack of editing. The missing words, wrong words, and changing details were way too many to be ignored.

If these kinds of editing issues don't bother you and you love a good enemies-to-lovers taboo read, this is for you! Almost all my friends LOVED this one.

A huge thank you to MONIQUE for putting up with my nit-picking personality. I love her to pieces! <3

Loving someone is when you’d break yourself apart to put the other person back together.

This book is beautiful and emotional and yet it is also irritating and annoying. Let me set the example. This book is like the first rays of the winter sun when you can see the warmth but not yet feel it. This book is like a pain to a masochist, fulfilling and satisfying and yet so hard to bear. This book is like staring into the eyes of a wild beast; you know your life is about to end but you cannot look away. This book is like pleasure and pain combined in the most delicious feeling for which you cannot decide if you want it to last forever or let it bring you to ecstasy.

Yes, you guessed correctly, this book is also full of poetry prose, of artistic comparisons, and descriptions that flow around the story like too much sugar on a cake. Just because it sounds pretty it doesn't mean you have to overuse it. I'm actually one for extravagance. I usually do the exact opposite of 'the less is more' but it was too much even for me.

He loved art like Hades loved Persephone - something that both belonged to him yet was too good to remain in his dark and desolate world.

Don't take my critique only in a negative way. This writing style shows a great deal of literary talent and I would enjoy it very much in smaller measures. Also, I think this author should really try writing poetry. The real poetry, not this modern gibberish. The Baudelaire kind of poetry.

And speaking of Baudelaire, I'm in love with his poems. His poetry is so passionate, his words so vivid, you can almost taste them. It's kind of ironic that these beautiful verses, full of emotions and life were written by a man who was rather walking Les rues de Paris at night because the sounds and colors of the living and busy city scarred him. He felt comfortable only in the solitude of a sleeping city. He truly was an intriguing figure. When I started reading this book, I went to the library the very next day to borrow Fleurs du mal in French. I mean how amazing it is to come across him in a romance novel. But then I had to read the exact same verse every two pages. By the end of the book, I was prepared to shoot the first person who would dare to quote Baudelaire to my face. And I was wondering if Baudelaire is now turning around in his grave because of the terrible abuse that one of his verses had to endure or is he all pleased with himself somewhere in the after live smirking proudly how his words completely overpower the whole novel. However, if you're going to use his poetry for an erotica book then at least chose Á Celle qui est trop gaie which was banned from the collection because of the S and M theme.

Alright, let me return to the story before I start quoting Baudelaire myself. The things we love... If this book would be a movie then Léo Baudin should get an Oscar for the lead actor. His character was everything. His misery, hid anger, his self-destruction. He's the kind of man you want to write poetry about.

The man appeared like the world itself frustrated him just for spinning.

And dirty talk has never sounded more artistically orgasmic before.

It was official. Everything was sexier when said in French.
*************************************
It was like porn. But fancier. It was like French porn.

As for Troian... I didn't like her particularly but that doesn't mean that her 18 years old character with enough issues to have three psychiatrists occupied for life, wasn’t very well written. She was a well-developed character, I just didn't like her personality. And I couldn't quite decide if I want to see them together at the end or not. Their relationship was explosive but so wrong. And not the kind of wrong that secretly feels right. It was just wrong.

The ending was wickedly brilliant. I love to hate it. I can't leave things like that. I need to see where this will lead. So, naturally, I will be reading the next book. I believe it will evoke the same conflict emotions as the first one, so I guess, I'm more of a masochist as I care to admit.

description

I saw black and white. I saw stars. I saw everything and nothing and the beautiful mess in between. I saw him.

“But, mon Dieu, I will love you… I promise you, ma petite, that I will love you like it was the only thing I was created to do

Many thanks to Melanie who was patient with my slow pace because I had to stop every time I got annoyed which was a lot. And for listening to my neverending ramblings about how much I love Léo. Thank you for being my Paris at night.

In the things we loathe become the things we love.

This book felt like going into war. You could hear the battle cries. You could feel the anger and sadness. And you could watch them all starting to fall.

We stared at each other, fighting to understand what has just happened—and fighting to not want more of it. He was cruel. I was crazy. Our ending would be tragic.

Troy is angry. She’s sad and broken. She’s spent all her life trying to prove that she’s worthy. She went to live with her mother as a way to cope with what happened last year.

Professor Léo Baudin is just as angry, sad, and broken as her. If not more. When he’s anger got out of control, he left France to come and teach at Rhode Island school for the semester.

When two angry broken souls meet, you just set back and watch them slowly fall.

”Mon Dieu,” I swore and squeezed my eyes shut. “What kind of woman begs for a breath at the bottom of the ocean, ma petite?”

This was a student/teacher romance for a new to me author that was surprisingly so good. It was done so right. Their relationship made so much sense when you understand them. The writing was actually amazing. Their were tons of quotes that I loved. The chemistry between Léo and Troy was undeniable. The angst was too much! When it comes to Léo, you wouldn’t know whether to love or loathe him. And the end will just keep you wanting more. You couldn’t help but think, would history repeat itself? Despite fighting back, will Troy fall? This is the first book in the ‘Odyssey duet’ and I can’t wait to know what’s going to happen next.

Love was the gift horse. Not just a gift horse—love was like the Trojans horse... and any moment now, I was going to be woken from my secure reality to realize that it had conquered and consumed me under the guise of pleasure, in the dark of night, and from the inside out.

A brilliant masterpiece. Enemies to lovers romance that is so hot and forbidden you simply crave more. She outdoes herself with every piece of writing but this is some of her best work. The emotions will leave you in major hangover mode. The ending...gah. Cannot wait for more of this.

I could not with this author's writing. The aim appears to be high brow literature, but she lost me at "her breasts looked at me with a needy smugness."

I adore well crafted prose. What I can not abide, however, is pretentiousness.

The Fall of Troy by Rebecca Sharp was EVERYTHING! I felt more intense emotion while reading this book than I have in a long time. The characters grabbed hold of my heart from the very first pages. I felt everything they did. I hurt when they hurt and I loved when they loved. The angst and tension in this story was overwhelming. My very favorite kind of book, with an age gap and forbidden student teacher relationship. The storyline had me biting my nails wanting to fix everything for Troy and Leo. I wanted them to find their happiness. Instead, the book ended on a cliffhanger that had me pulling my hair out and throwing my Kindle and debating whether I was brave enough to beg the author to have the next book early. I absolutely loved this story and I can not wait to read the rest. I need everything fixed right now.

"Sometimes the greatest things are too big for words - both the greatest masterpieces and the greatest mistakes."

I liked The Fall of Troy, but it did leave me a bit confused, not because there was something that I didn't understand precisely, more so that I can't really decipher my exact feelings after finishing it. One thing to note is that this is not a complete story, however, I can't help but feel a bit annoyed because splitting it in two books seems unnecessary to me, and I honestly don't feel very enticed to read book 2, simply because I know that there will be so much more drama and I feel like I've been through enough already. That being said, I did really like the characters and their romance, and there were some things that made it a bit different from a normal romance.

The Characters
We have Leo, the French art professor, and Troy, the student.

I really liked Troy, more than I liked Leo, which is quite unusual for me - I always tend to like the heroes more than the heroines. At the beginning, Troy felt like a shell of a person. I liked how we saw her gradually get better (not exactly from the romance per se, although it did play a role). Her finding a friend (Kevin) and learning to trust, to share and to depend on him again after being betrayed by her best friend was really good. I also liked her interactions with her therapist and how Troy started sharing more with her and actively tried to heal herself.

Leo was alright. He was jaded and suffering, and as a result had a lot of problems especially his anger issues. That's the one thing that was taken too far, imo, because he was waaaaay to rough with Troy litearally every time they were together, whether it was them just talking or being intimate. I did like though how we saw him being this "tortured art genius", it was a good side of him. Also, don't get me wrong the mysterious and tortured vibe was great most of the time.

The Romance

"Loving someone is when you'd break yourself apart to put the other person back together."

I realise that I can't fully judge their relationship because this is just half of their story, but still imma do it :)))

I'll start by saying that this book was almost 400 pages and in retrospect nothing that much happened with their relationship, given that, as I said, it's only half of their story, and it should've felt repetitive but it somehow didn't.

The pitch of the book is that they're enemies first, which yeah they were, because he was extremely rude to her, so she hated him, yes, but what I didn't understand is why he was so mean in the first place? Even before he knew she was his student, he was an asshole, and the only reason that I can come up with is that he was very attractted to her, but this doesn't really make sense........

Their relationship as a whole, was very aggressive, I'd say, and the aggression came only from Leo. Now, I wouldn't say that he was abusive or anything and there's nothing wrong with being a bit rough in bed but at times it was too much for me, because I saw no sweetness from him at all. It's just, it was understandable when they were still "enemies", but as they fell in love, the way he treated her should've changed too.

And let me just say, she got turned on whenever he said one word to her literally, like that's just waaaay too much. I don't think that they had one convesation when she wasn't thinking about doing the nasty.

I really liked how Troy never gave up on him and fought for them to be together. There were also a few convesations with her parents, in which they pretty much told her that love is worth everything and that she shouldn't give up on it. Even though they didn't know that she was with her professor, I know that they wouldn't have stopped her, and I loved the support she got from Kev, too. As I whole, I liked how she was treated like an adult by her close ones, rather than a confused child, which is how it usually is in teacher-student romances.

The Purple Prose

I'd say that this is the most memorable thing about The Fall of Troy . It was very poetic and I usually am all for that. I love the melodramatic shit characters say, it makes me so much more invested. However, here the purple prose was sometimes too much, to the point that I read the paragraph and understood absolutely nothing, because my brain felt a bit fried from all the metaphors. I personally would've dialed it down a bit.
There were some very beautiful passages though.

"The best art - the truest art - isn't the kind that's bright and pretty on canvas and catches your eye when you walk past it with a smile; it's the kind of art that stops you in your tracks and rips the breath right from you because it reflects a piece of you. Love, like art, should be the mirror of your soul, reflecting the parts of you that you need to see. Maybe they're pretty...maybe they're ugly...but they are you."

"I knew what I was looking for - that kind of sadness that is so deeply rooted and yet grows with a luminescent beauty. I wanted to create something that was so beautiful to look at, you wouldn't mind that your soul was being ripped apart in the process. "

In conclusion, was it the best teacher-student romance I've read? No. It has it's issues, but it is, nevertheless, an intruguing story and I especially recommend it if you like flowery prose.

"I might not know exactly where I was going with my life, but wherever it was, it would be for me and no one else.

Troian was bad ass.
She went six years trying to get her father to notice her and it continuously chipped away at her til one day she walks in on him missing her award show and balls deep into her best friend. Dad of the year award. goes to him, I THINK NOT.

Troy is in Rhode Island and she mets this frenchman who happens to be her professor. They play the game of cat and mouse. For every rejection she gets from him, she comes back harder and continues to fight for their love. It was heartbreaking watching this girl who is trying to find her way fight for a love that might not even make it. She gave it her all and I admired that so much.

The Fall of Troy has been the fall of me! My heart is a heaping mess of emotions as tears spill from my eyes! A love that grew from tragedy! A sliver of hope that even the lost, the dark and misguided could find love only for it all to be ripped away!

Troy is a lost soul trying to find her place in this world! Disappointment after disappointment lead her to the last place she ever wanted to be and the one place that she hopes will be her salvation! She throws herself into work and is waiting for school to start so she can focus on that and see if she can figure out a plan for her future! What she never counted on was finding her salvation and her demise standing at the front of her class!

Leo is running from the pain and darkness of the life he’s trying to leave behind! A fresh start is what he thinks he needs yet he finds a soul that matches his! A soul that he wants to posses and love till the end of time, but it belongs to a girl that he can never have especially when there’s to much left to figure out!

Leo’s and Troys story took me by complete surprise and I was so wrapped up in this journey from page one! The emotion Sharp puts into her writing is felt as you read each word! I could feel the dark, anger dripping off Troy and Leo but I could also feel the lust and love they held inside! This story evokes so many emotions which is due to the impressive writing style and story telling abilities that sharp has!

Yeah, yeah I know. Only 30% left and I couldn't even get through it? I'm just not feeling it and tbh I don't care for either of them. Also, I feel kinda dumb. Maybe it was too deep for me to understand, but I can't really tell you why they hated each other so much. However, I do have to say that the steamy scenes were really, really good!!

From the beauty of the cover to the beauty of her words, this book kept me hostage. It pushed and it pulled and it left me both frustrated and wonderfully satisfied.

Troy and Léo were an interesting couple. So wrong for each other and yet so right. They were war, they were love. They were ugly, they were beautiful. They were dirty, they were pure, they were raw. And so lost. And yet not. They were every emotion on the register.

I'm excited to see where the next book will take us. I have a feeling it's not going to be an easy ride but I feel in my bones and heart that our couple will fight. Because what they have is worth fighting for. And I will fight with them.

It's not often that I am left at a loss on how to word my review but here I sit and I am totally speechless. How do I, an avid reader who enjoys blogging about the books she reads, write a review that will do this book any sort of justice? I have no idea! I am definitely not as gifted with words as the Dr. Rebecca Sharp and after reading THE FALL OF TROY I feel as if I don't come close Professor Léo Baudin will have me bent over his desk to spank my ass.

This book was filled with passion and heartache and I couldn't tell you which was stronger because it seemed that each emotion feed off of the other. This was a story about a young woman whose life changed in a blink of an eye and was forced to start over in a new town, things weren't looking good for Troian but she did what she had to do then she locked eyes with the most handsome guy she had ever seen, she refered to his eyes as 20,000 leagues under the sea so much depth in them, it was lust at first site. Professor Léo Baudin has had a rough go of it himself and that is also why he is in this small town in Rhode Island.

Rebecca Sharp is a fairly new to me author as I have only read one of her books previously. I did however have the chance to meet her at a book signing last summer along with her husband and she is super sweet so if you ever have the opportunity to meet her take it, you'll love her as much as her books.  I read a lot of erotic romances not necessary erotica but definitely books where the sexy times happens on the pages and not behind closed doors, as I was saying before I have only read one book by this author before so I wasn't sure how hot the scenes would be, let me just say one word SCORCHING! Did that peak your interest? How about if I told you I will NEVER look at a copy of Les Fleurs du Mal by Charles Baudelaire the same again!!!!

This was the first book in THE ODYSSEY DUET, with the second book due out at the beginning of July. I really hope you add this duet to your TBR list because it is just that good, remember over 17 please due to sexual content.

Happy Reading!

Recensione sulla mia pagina Bookstagram
https://www.instagram.com/p/CKojOr4nK...

Fino a lei.
Fino a Troian Milanovic.

«Potevo vedere quell’urgenza schierata nelle sue iridi, trasudare dai suoi pori. Elle avait besoin de moi. Lei. Aveva. Bisogno. Di. Me.

Consigliatissimo!

5 "Ma Petite"  Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Student Teacher ✓ Enemies to Lovers ✓ Older man younger woman ✓✓✓ Sign me up!!

"I moaned over and over again into his mouth and he swallowed each one like they fed the darkness inside of him."

After moving to Rhode Island, eighteen-year-old Troian Milanovic accidentally bumps into the arrogant French asshole, Léo Baudin. Little did Troy know, that said French asshole would be her new Art Professor.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but Léo Baudin and his words would break me."

This book was a breath of fresh air because I've never read a sexy romance about an Art teacher wanting to bring his student to ruins, just like him.

It could be my bias for Majoring in Art, but the author wrote everything Art related exceptionally well. The classes, activities, techniques and description of what Art was truly about, was written accurately and I couldn't have been any more satisfied.

"Love is like art. The best art—the truest art—isn’t the kind that’s bright and pretty on canvas and catches your eye when you walk past it with a smile; it’s the kind of art that stops you in your tracks and rips the breath right from you because it reflects a piece of you."

The chemistry between Léo and Troy couldn't have been contained for any longer. Their toxicity was absolutely dangerous and I loved it!

"My reward was the grinding of his muscled thigh against my throbbing pussy. Gasping, I chased the friction, sliding up and down on his leg. As I moved, I felt the angry, pulsing jerk of his cock against my stomach. It was maddening, knowing I brought him to this. Me."

And the banter between them was so hilarious! I couldn't stop myself from laughing at their snarky remarks!

"Everyone else, keep working. Miss Milanovic, start over. Perhaps utilize some of your feelings this time. Without them, you can’t be an artist.”
“And with them, you can still be an ass,” I grumbled under my breath."

I loved how poetic the author's writing was, but what I loved, even more, was all the angst leading up to them having sex. This author knows how to write a hot sex scene! And all the French dialogues?? Oof! I'm all hot and bothered all over again.

“Say it again,” he commanded. “The whole thing.”
“Nous trouvons. Des appas,” I chanted because it was the only words my mouth could form as he rammed inside of me over and over again, his balls slapping against my ass. Nous trouvons.I sobbed with every thrust, needing more. Des appas."

This was my first read from this author, and I loved every second of it. This honestly reminded me of The Unrequited by Saffron Kent, but this was way WAY better! Pleaseee do not hesitate to drop what you're doing and read this now!

So happy I picked this one up. Can't wait to read the second book!

This book had everything I usually love but it didn’t end up working for me. There’s the forbidden student/teacher element and the age gap calling to me however it all was written way too melodramatic just for the sake of it for my tastes. I didn’t believe the connection between our hero and heroine at all. Our heroine needed to get a life tbh. I just wanted to tell her to grow up and toughen up. As for the hero, he was as interesting as a beige wall. The story felt slow in parts and took forever for anything to happen. They ‘hate’ each other but WHY. Yeah they have past issues but lol I couldn’t help rolling my eyes. I did finish this book but I pushed myself to do so.

The writing was good. The sex scenes were FIRE. For most part that’s what keep my interest.

Anyone who knows me knows I am a huge fan of taboo. Anything forbidden is my jam, lol

But overall this one just wasn’t one of my faves.
I felt like I’d read this sorry before. I don’t know, I just never really fell head over heels in love with the characters.

I love this book. It is the first Rebecca sharp book. And let me just say she has become one of my favorite authors. Troian and Leo's epic love story was amazing and and angsty. It was also so beautiful that it made my heart melt. She is definitely another author whom I will be reading!!!
