Summer break is just around the corner, and it’s time for Raizen High School’s class trip to Arubi Island. While the other students gear up for a bit of fun at the beach, though, Shido has no time to relax! As soon as his class reaches its destination, he immediately encounters twin Spirits Kaguya and Yuzuru. Now, he’s wrapped up in some “final battle” where the one who seduces him first will be named the victor! But this time, he has no backup from Ratatoskr. Can he make it out alive and save the twins from their cursed fate?!
This volume was simply marvellous. It was really great and a fun read.
We are introduced to a several new characters, the important being the Yamai twins and Ellen. The Yamai twins are the new set of spirits and Ellen is the best "wizard" of DEM industries, whose rival is our favorite Ratatoskr.
In this volume, we are for the first time presented that both groups are basically enemies. With which we gain an additional villain, being the evil organisation.
The book even ended in an cliff-hanger so that's even better.
But what I feel lacking is a strong male character. I really like High School DxD, but not because of the ecchines, but because of the diverse characters in the gender sense. Shidou does have a friend but I feel that he is only an expositional character. Well let's hope for the best.
Having little time to recover after events from the previous volumes, Shido and his classmates go on a school trip to a semi-tropical island. Here he runs across twin spirits hell bend on killing each other. To make matters worse, a new enemy makes an appearance to oppose Ratatoskr.
Much like the previous volumes, the story is a mix of rather absurd humour, satire for dating games, with an intriguing world and mystery. The mystery is only deepened, not just about Shido's and the spirit's nature, but also the people involved in some kind of shadow war with one another. I do hope that at some point, new spirits stop appearing and a name list is added to the front, because it is getting a bit difficult to remember even though I do love the personalities of the twins.
