Dr. Ryder Finley is a smoking hot surgeon and a total grouch. Arrogant. Entitled. A cold-hearted brute with a sculpted body and gorgeous eyes.
We’ve bickered since day one. So what if I notice the bulging biceps under his scrubs… And that he's very good with his hands? He’s my sworn enemy.
When he asks me to be his fake fiancée for a real estate deal, I think he’s lost it. But I’m desperate to get my pushy family off my back. So I agree.
I’ll wear his ring and pretend to be in love. Then I’ll go back to hating him. But I didn’t count on one tiny detail: Ryder’s not the devil I thought he was.
I don’t know what’s crazier: That I’m falling for my enemy... Or that I’m having his baby.
Dr. Wrong is a full-length, enemies-to-lovers, secret baby romance. This standalone is packed with red-hot steam and a swoony Happily Ever After that will leave you with a smile on your face. No cheating or cliffhangers!
I found this book so exhausting that I am taking a (potentially indefinite) break from pregnancy trope romances (which is saying a lot because I read 250 of them last year)
I just absolutely adore this one. I loved the enimes to lover and this one did not disappoint at all. I loved this one just like all the authors other books and I can't wait to see what she writes next.
This was a good read. Ryder is coming to town to be the new doctor. He hasn't seen Whitney since they were kids. They both are attracted to each other. However, they are very different people. They decide to pretend to be engaged but we know that by the end they are in love for real.
Ryder Flynn and Whitney Miller had an abrasive relationship as children. Ryder was her best friend Barrett’s cousin and she didn’t really get along with Ryder. Now he is coming to the hospital where she and Barrett work and will be her boss.
In the meantime, Whitney’s family is getting ready for a family reunion in a few months. The family is trying to force Whitney to get herself a man and are requiring her to bring a plus-1 to the festivities. Ryder also has an issue. He is trying to buy some property which the owner will only sell to a family man or a couple planning on children. Just moving back, Ryder has no one in mind, but since Whitney doesn’t even like him, there is no risk of falling for her or having to untangle her emotions if he gets her to pretend to be his fake fiancée. So they agree to help each other out, both feeling comfortable that they can easily resist the other. But can they really ignore the feelings they are each having? Who will cross the line first and set loose a flood of emotions? Grab your copy and see how their plan plays out for them.
This is the first book in the Doctors Down South Series and definitely starts the series off on a high note. If you like enemy to lovers romance, you don't want to miss this one. What a great story that will grab your attention right at the beginning and take you on an emotional roller coaster. The characters are amazing with lots of depth. Ryder was her nemesis from childhood and her grumpy new boss. Neither was interested in a relationship but it appears they both 'need one. He in order to obtain his dream property and she to get her family off her back. So guess what, A fake relationship and you know often fake becomes real. The story was well written with great characters and a page-turning story line. Once you start reading you'll find this book hard to put down. I received a free arc copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review ARC.
I really enjoyed this book. It was very pleasant with enough angst and interesting plot. Uptight but handsome doctor met beautiful nurse. They clashed. They argued. They bantered. The attraction was instant and their chemistry was palpable. Loved the twist about her getting pregnant as well as the bits about the ow. Overall, a lovely read.
I'm not a huge fan of fake engaged troupe and they dragged out the whole miscommunication thing. One conversation would have fixed months of problems. Too prideful and immature of both of them.
As children, Whitney Miller, a green-eyed beauty with sun-kissed light brown hair, and Barrett Finely were inseparable best friends in Peachwood, Georgia, a small town located just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Even as young adults they pursued related professions in the medical field, Whitney as a nurse in the neurology department of the regional hospital and Barrett as a pediatrician. The only point of discord between the childhood bffs was their differing of opinion on Ryder Flynn, Barrett’s older and favorite cousin also known as Whitney’s nemesis since childhood. So, when Barrett joyfully shares the news that Ryder, a neurologist, was moving to Peachwood to work in the regional hospital where Barrett and Whitney both work, Whitney is less than thrilled, especially to hear that her nemesis will be her supervisor.
And while having Ryder as a boss will be irritating, the greatest challenge that Whitney currently faces as an adult is the obsession that her mom and her mom’s sisters hold that Whitney must find a husband—a topic that appears to be controlling the 3 sister’s focus in organizing the family’s approaching reunion to be held in the next few months. To try and force Whitney to seek out the company of a man, the sisters have made it clear that all single attendees must bring a plus 1 to the family reunion.
And as fate would have it, Ryder also needs the assistance. He has found the perfect tract of land to purchase, but the eccentric owner insists that he will only sale the land to a family, or a couple with the intentions of having children. But a woman—a girlfriend or wife is the last thing that Ryder currently wants. His move to Peachwood was precipitated by a very toxic breakup with his previous girlfriend, Natasha, a manipulative, dishonest woman in NYC who was so vicious that he had resorted to leaving his hometown and moving to Georgia to escape her claws. So, as he and Whitney bump into each other at work and with Barrett, Ryder begins to consider that Whitney might be perfect for the task—a woman beautiful and sweet enough to convince the landowner Gus that any man would wish to marry her and to have her be the mother to his children. But as a woman who despised him and who had absolutely no interest in marriage to Ryder, he would not have to worry about her thinking that their game of pretend might become a reality.
So, with two desperate individuals—Ryder who needs to become a “family man” to qualify to buy Gus’s prime acreage, and Whitney, who needs a date to her family’s reunion, they form an unholy and insincere alliance with a very short expiration date. Both consider themselves “safe” from the powerful sexual pull that each feels for the other, but sometimes it’s hard to resist those inexplicable emotional pulls.
Author Crystal Monroe offers her readers a delightful but tension filled journey on the long, winding road of love and second chances. The romance is filled with supporting family and good friends who help the struggling couple stay on course in mission of achieving their personal goals—both expressed and unexpressed.

In this book we meet Whitney Miller & Ryder Finley. When they were children these two met when Ryder came into to spend time with his cousin Barrett. The problem with this is Barrett was Whitney's best friend. When he made a statement to Barrett that made her cry after everyone laughed at her she vowed never to forgive the jerk. Years later Whitney is a nurse in the neurology department in the same small town outside of Atlanta where the jerk made her feel bad. What she didn't know until her surprise birthday party her best friend threw for her. He is also the new doctor at the same hospital she works at. Oh and to make matters worse her aunts and mother are gearing up for the annual family reunion or the grill Whitney about her love life reunion. Ryder can't believe his cousin is still friends with Whitney and when he finds out the same women he just insulted ya it's her birthday party. To make things worse most of his colleges are at this party too. He blames her for this too. See Ryder has a plan he is staying with his cousin long enough to find an apartment. After that he will find the land he wants and build a house for his future on. The problem comes when he finds the property but the owner wants to sell to a family not a single guy. Can these two find a HEA or will the lies that they tell to get what they want be their downfall?
Amazing story. These characters really draw you and and won't let go till the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
This was another series I stumbled on in one of my subscription emails. I not only have an interest in billionaires, but also with doctors due to my career field. While this one had a good story and kept me interested, it wasn’t anything new or exciting that I haven’t read before. Whitney and Ryder’s relationship annoyed me in the beginning just because they just wouldn’t stop arguing, fighting and one upping each other. I got tired of this real quickly in the beginning. It wasn’t until the claws went away that the story started to do something for me, and when I gained more of an interest. Once Whitney and Ryder admitted their interest with each other and blurred the lines between trying to not involve feelings but doing things that couples do, the true feelings and emotions came out and I enjoyed the story a lot more. I would say Ryder ended up falling hard for her first and Whitney wasn’t far behind that. He was willing to change his lifestyle for her and welcomed it, while Whitney was hesitant at first. What finally brings them together is admitting that what they have is real and there isn’t anything that could get in the way of it. The time they spent apart ends up being the typical misunderstanding and then they don’t address it, assuming the worst. All in all, weak start but strong finish, warranting more of a 4.5 for me.

I’m not going to lie the first 45% of this book was repetitive to the point it became boring. Whitney has been BFFs with Barratt since they were kids and Ryder is his cousin, apparently Ryder was nasty to Whitney when he was 15 and she was 9. Fast forward to Whitney celebrating her 28th birthday at Barratt’s home and she mistakenly thought Ryder was a stripper. The reason I said it’s repetitive is they are attracted to each other but apparently hate each other and they amount of times they said the wanted them but hated them just became boring. If I’m being honest I thought Whitney acted like a brat every time she spoke to him as she was snappy and rude and all because as a child he embarrassed her and made her cry, holding a childish grudge for 19 years is just stupid and her attitude was childish and bratty many times in the first part. Once she let go of her grudge and actually spent time with Ryder she fell for him and she was a much nicer person, but why can’t adults just communicate better, these two are the epitome of how couples must talk about how they feel and what they want. Once she had the medical scare they became a much better couple and I enjoyed the story from there much more.
Dr. Wrong is a romance and everyone knows how romances end, happily ever after. The fun is in the journey. The heroine in this story is Whitney Miller, a happily single, neurology department nurse in a small town Georgia hospital. However, Whitney’s family is not happy about her status. At the ripe old age of 28, they believe she should be at home with a husband supporting her and at least two children. One of her aunts even creates a Facebook page called, “A Husband for Whitney”. Enter the new doctor in town. Dr. Ryder Finley has just transferred from hospital in New York City to be the new neurosurgeon at Whitney’s hospital. They had actually met about 20 years earlier when Ryder was an obnoxious teenager and was mean to then nine-year old Whitney.
At work, Ryder is curt and condescending. Unfortunately he has the skills to back up the attitude. He and Whitney clash from the start. He’s cocky and arrogant and she’s feisty and snarky. They swipe at each other until they need each other. She needs a fake fiancé to attend a family reunion to get her family off her back and he needs a fake fiancée to buy a piece of property. They agree to terms, but can’t deny their mutual attraction, which eventually leads to their happily ever after.
This was an enjoyable story. By chapter three I was looking forward to the next book in the series. As my review began, the joy in reading romances is the journey and this was a fun, quick journey.
Tbh, I was a bit scared and kind of bracing myself for the worst because of the reviews, but it turned out to be not that bad.
I actually liked how the storyline went. It was just when, spoiler but not really a spoiler, the MMC joked about their relationship with their colleagues in order to “save”, his words not mine, the FMC from that awkward situation, that my feelings kinda slumped. I mean I understand his intentions but he could have handled it so much better.
And if they actually communicated instead of making assumptions and trying to read each other’s minds, I think this book would have been a lot shorter. Maybe then we could get to see more of their life after, like the rest of the pregnancy, the announcement of their then real engagement, the reactions of both families to it, the wedding, the birth, how Barrett forgave them for hiding things from him,… Those were the ones that I was really looking forward to. Just them settling down a bit before jumping right into the epilogue, one or few more chapters about it on page would be more than enough, instead of those brief mentions at the end.
Their Fated Love Journey - Ryder wanted to start a new life, forget about his hellish past and stay away from relationships, when he moved to Peachwood. However, what he didn’t expect was to have to spend time professionally and intimately with Whitney, who was his nemesis when he was a teenager. Whitney was shocked to the core with the mixed feeling she was having towards the last person she wanted to be entangled with, but circumstances put them together and she decided to accept it.
Unfortunately, they nearly missed their opportunity for a happily ever after due to misunderstandings, but it would take Ryder’s determination to overcome his insecurities and stubbornness, as well as the surprise, to bring them back together. This is a well written and enjoyable story, with witty banter, humour, romance, intimate moments and drama, which culminated in a steamy, entertaining and addictive page turner. I am really looking forward to reading more books from this talented author.

I love medical stories and this was one of the best. Whitney and Barrett had been friends since childhood. Barrett and her sister Ariel surprised her with a Birthday party when Ryder, Barrett's cousin, show up. Whitney had hated this guy from childhood from the way he treated her. Ryder left New York because of an ex-girlfriend driving him insane. Barrett and Ryder are doctors and Whitney in a nurse in Neurology where Ryder (Dr. Finley) is a neurosurgeon. Unfortunately Whitney and Ryder did not get along. Ryder found a piece of land to build a house on, however, the farmer wouldn't sell to him because he was not married. Whitney needed date to her family reunion to keep her aunts from trying to get her married off. Ryder comes up with a proposition to help them both, pretend to be engaged. Can this scheme work and they not fall in love and rider get his land. I hope you all enjoy reading this book as much as I did. I hated for the book to end.

This book covers Friend's to Lovers Romance, Fake Engagement Romance, Workplace Romance, and another type of romance that I am keeping a secret, because I don't want to give everything away. Ryder is one sexy doctor. When he starts over in a new place, in a new hospital, all is good except one of the nurses, Whitney. She still "hates" him from something he said to her when they were children. You might say this is childish, but things soon are anything but childish, as they become fake engaged to help both of them out with something. From there, this book continues into a wonderful story. The author really brings you into the story, and just will not let you go. You know it is a good book, when you are so involved with the story, that you are smiling and happy one minute, crying the next, and then are angry and cursing at the characters after that. I really enjoyed reading this book, therefore, I highly recommend it.

Something so wrong feels so very right Dr. Wrong by Crystal Monroe is an enemies to lovers, fake fiancé romance. Little do they know, burying the hatchet for the sake of their agreed upon fake engagement becomes something neither expected. Ryder and Whitney know how to communicate at the beginning of their fake engagement, but quickly get caught up in the now and miss out on their chances to talk about what they want for the future. The plot begins with enemies to lovers and quickly morphs into the fake engagement. While all seems to be going well, that pesky but necessary element of any good relationship (communication) seems to disappear into the ether as assumptions are made and pride rears it’s ugly head. Overall, this couple finally resolve the failure to communicate and get their HEA along with plenty of hope and promise of more happiness throughout their forever. Dr. Wrong is the first book in the Doctors Down South series and is about Ryder and Whitley who had a dislike/hate for each other that goes back to when they were teens. But they will be working together at Lakeview County Hospital where Whitley is a nurse and Ryder will be a doctor after he moves there. Ryder is a pompous a$$, with an attitude that I wanted to smack off him. Whitley is a sweet and beautiful young woman who enjoys her life, work and family. But her family is continually riding her about being single, after all every young southern girl should be thinking about finding a man, getting married and having babies. Ryder and Whitley definitely do have some great chemistry which is shown both from their banter and the sparks flying between them. But can that translate into a lasting relationship?
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Ryder and Whitney have never gotten along so when they end up having to work together when he moves back the bickering starts back up again. Whitney's family wants her to find a man and settle down and she's getting tired of hearing about it. Ryder is trying to buy this property but the owner wants to sell to a family man. He decides to approach Whitney about being his fake fiancé to help him get what he wants. She agrees because it will get her family off her back. However neither expected to have feelings to become involved when they started their planned. Soon things became very real between them and they weren't sure of what the other was wanting. Can they find something serious from their plan?
This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

For a book that had so much going on (enemies to lovers, fake engagement, secret baby) it was incredibly boring. The couple seemed like mature, intelligent individuals until the 80% mark when the heroine became tstl and starting making wild, nonsensical assumptions and then tried and convicted the hero without taking ten seconds to talk to him. Seeing him through a window talking to another woman when he invited the heroine over causes her to apply for jobs to move to another city and keep his baby a secret from him. Good gawd! It was inconsistent with the character’s upfront and smart nature and completely unrealistic. Also a doctor and a nurse being so stupid as to have sex the same day that the pregnant heroine is spotting and has a miscarriage scare is also dumb. They would know better and not risk the pregnancy or the mothers health here. But apparently these two are idiots. Spare yourself a boring read. Even the too stupid drama at the end was boring.
“I’m ready. Do the thing.” He raised an eyebrow. “What thing?” he asked. “Oh, you need the right music? I can choose a track. What do you want? Electronic, hip-hop, pop? I’m not sure what kind of songs you need for something like this.”. “It’s really not that big a deal. I’m not going to complain if you skip the pleasantries and just take off your pants.” He raised his eyebrows. “Is that so?” “Come on,” I said, threading my finger through one of the belt loops on his jeans and tugging a little. “That’s the end game, if you can get right down to it.” “Okay,” Barrett said, coming from somewhere in the house with a large platter. Oh… the kitchen. That’s where he’d gone. And now he was returning with a cake. Wait, what? Was that what he meant when he’d said he had a surprise for me? The cake?
Then their love story was sweet. I can’t wait to read Barrett’s story and continue to see Ryder and Whitney grow ❤️
Book 5: stars I received a free copy of the steamy novel Dr. Wrong An Enemies to Lovers Romance: Whitney and Barrett by Crystal Monroe and this review was given freely. I loved it. Set in Peachwood, Georgia and featuring staff from Lakeview County Hospital this sudden attraction to a childhood tormentor/fake fiancé romance with realistic characters, marriage obsessed relatives, unforeseen consequences, and a happy ending. Neurology RN Whitney Miller’s hopes for a quite 28th birthday celebration with her best friend, pediatrician Barrett Finley, go array when an unfiltered moment with an attractive man at her surprise party turns into an embarrassing moment with Barrett’s New York cousin, her new Attending, the abrupt and condescending neurosurgeon, Ryder Finley.

I enjoyed this book. It shows how a childhood grudge can carry over into adulthood and cause severe problems. Whitney and Ryder met through Ryder's cousin when they were kids. Ryder being a typical teenage boy said some things that hurt Whitney. 20 plus years later they meet again and instantly dislike each other. Unfortunately for Whitney, Ryder is now her boss. Fortunately for Whitney, they each have a problem the other can help them with. Hence, the rocky road to love.
This book is well written. It flows smoothly through the storyline. To me it was easy to imagine the scenes throughout the story. I recommend you read the book for yourself. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
4.5 stars. Enemies to Lovers, fake Romance. Whitney and Barrett are best friends. He is a doctor and she is a nurse at Lakeview County Hospital. She finds out his cousin Ryder is moving to town and will also be a doctor at their hospital on Whitney can not stand him. Her disdain for him comes from when the were teenagers. When Ryder arrives at her birthday at Barrett's is when the sparks start. This was a fun read. They argue a lot but there is so much heat between them. The chemistry is undeniable. Whitney's family is constantly on her about being single to the point there was a group text about her. I enjoyed this book and Crystal is becoming another favorite author for me.

Whitney and her best friend Barrett grew up together and got jobs together, her as a nurse and he as a pediatrician. His cousin who picked on Whitney when she was younger os coming back to town to practice as a daughter. Both are single but he is still an arrogant jerk like she remembers him thinking he is better just because he is a doctor. They end up coming up witb a fake engagement plan to get her family off her back and to give him leverage on a parcel of land je wants that will only be sold to a family man. Will this fake engagement change the way these two feel about each ither or will it cause WWIII?

Whitney is looking for someone to take to her family reunion as a fake fiance. Ryder needs a fake wife to buy a tract of land he wants. She has hated him since early school years, but now he will do in this situation to get her family off her back about marriage. With Ryder being the surgeon and Whitney as the nurse, he is her boss, so the banter and situations can go from pretty funny to bringing tears. The characters and storyline are terrific, with great backstories and intense feelings both for and against what they are doing. Loved the developments, drama and romance. The ending was terrific.
