After a few days of binging shows on Netflix, I grew tired of the judgmental prompt that constantly popped onto the screen: Are you still watching?
Yes, Netflix, I’m still watching. I’m never leaving this couch. I may as well be a throw pillow. Do you have a problem with that?

I am not Cinderella. I will not sit in my tower and wait for a man to save me.
And glass slippers aren’t my style.

But I enjoy cleaning. There’s no mess that can’t be tackled with a little elbow grease and determination.

Court’s life was perfect, until it wasn’t. Not until her picture appeared on the cover of a gossip magazine next to the headline ‘Just Call Me Cinderella” Grayden Stefano’s Dirty Little Secret.’ Now she has to come to terms with what Grady did. Is it possible for both Grady and Court to move on without each other?

I was looking forward to reading this. I enjoyed it, but it was incredibly short. I love that I can relate to Court by both of us loving Christmas and listening to Christmas music nonstop. I love that she wasn’t ashamed to work as a cleaner. I wasn’t the biggest fan on how Grady left, but I understand his reasoning. I just wanted more of Grady and Court and the Engine 17 men and their women. 3.5 stars.

Reader’s Notes:

– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Court and Grady/Grayden’s points of view

Review:

I love reading a book with a character I can relate to! Court loves Christmas and listening to Christmas music nonstop and I do to! You can’t get us to change it to something else. I really liked that Court was unashamed to work as a cleaner (if you love cleaning, why not do it for your job? It’s the best to do what you love for work!). And while I didn’t like that Grady left her without any explanation, I could understand his reasoning and I liked what method he used to try and get her back.

Court thought that the man she loved grew up a simple farm boy and now worked as a firefighter. Until one night completely destroys everything she ever thought she knew about him. Did he just string her along? Was it all a game to him?

Grady grew up in the spotlight and tried to escape it, but his mother drags him back in before he can explain this to Court. He knows he hurt her and doesn’t know what he can do to make it up to her. He can’t even work up the courage to text. But when an idea comes, Grady is willing to do anything to prove to Court that his love for her is real…

What was in the story was good, but this one was so short. I felt like I was missed so much with the start of Grady and Court’s romance. If I could have seen a little bit more of how they fell in love before the fall out then I think it would have been more impactful. Also, I think if he was the one that setup their reunion with her decorating his house for Christmas that would have been the ultimate romantic gesture, but instead his assistant was the one to set it up, which was disappointing. It was sweet, but I needed more. This was way shorter than a simple novella.

The shortest book I’m reading is called Snow Place Like Home” The fifth book of Men of Engine 17 Series. (1-6) by Ash Keller. Without a doubt, this is the best book I've ever read. The characters are well-written, adorable, hilarious, and enjoyable. I enjoy reading books with relatable characters! It's a charming story about a little town and an ordinary Christmas holiday. This time, I liked the chemistry between Courtney and Grady, at a party, they declare their love for one another, and then something goes wrong. Courtney has recently found out the man she loves has lied to her. This is the story and fallout of those lies. Will they find their way back to another or be apart forever? I would have loved to see a bit more of their relationship's growth. I will continue to read the author's last series.

Review: The Men of Engine 17 Series Book #5. “Snow Place Like Home” picks right up where #4 left off but it’s not necessary to read any other book it can be read as a stand-alone. However I recommend the whole series they are cute, short, and sweet. This story focuses on Grady and Court. Court has recently found out the man she loves has lied to her. This is the story and fallout of those lies. Will they find their way back to another or be apart forever? Can she forgive him for those secrets? This story is short but really sweet. I was rooting for Court to get her happily ever after. And it was nice after the air and mystery In the other books for find out Grady’s secrets. Can’t wait for the next in the series. These are a must buy for me. I hope they all come out In paperback.

He lied to her, hid his identity, started a relationship with her and made her fall in love and then abandoned her when his identity was revealed. For 3YEARS he never reached out to apologize or talk. Then he buys a house and has her decorated through his assistant. She arrives and takes the liberty of trying to stay at the house before she was even supposed to decorate when they see each other again. She gave in to easy with him. 3 YEARS of radio silence after he lied to her face about who he was. Wtf is this shit. Just no.

Finding home for Christmas

You will love this sweet short-read
Engine 17 romcom from Ms.Keller. i can assure you that I did. This tale features the mysterious EMT Grady and the local cleaner, Court. When Grady's famous mother chashes the Engine 17 harvest "prom" and carts him off, the aftermath of the exposute of his deceit destroys Courtney's life. This story reveals how Court and Grady grow in the wake of that incident and find their way back to each other with honesty, Christmas spirit and love.

I downloaded the 1-3 set of these books from stuff your kindle day. I didn’t realize it was three novellas in one, but I really did enjoy them! I read the second set of books 4-6 as well.

I understand totally that these stories are very very short novellas, but the author was able to give *just* enough back story to make me love all of the characters and their stories. Even though we already know the ending of everything, I would absolutely read them if she did a rewrite with longer stories for everyone.

I feel wrong adding six books to my read, but oh well. I’m going to copy and paste this for all of them since I read them as a single set on KU

I honestly can’t believe how the author can consistently come up with a romantic short story that makes tears in my eyes, but Ash Keller can. This book is a short story about another firefighter from Engine 17. His name is Grady and his girlfriend is Courtney. They profess love for each other at a party, and then disaster strikes. It’s a “Cinderella” story so you know it will have a happy ending, but it got scary for me near the end. All in all, I totally enjoyed this book. It can be read nonstop, and I highly recommend it for a quick bedtime read.

I wish it were longer; that was so cute. A little bit forced proximity, a little bit hidden identity, and all second chance sweetness. Court and Grady had fallen completely in love until it was revealed that he’s not quite who everyone thought he was. He’s a hidden Hollywood A-lister masquerading in their midst. But, Grady loved the uncomplicated life Engine 17 brought him and the sweet woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Can a snowstorm and a little white lie give this pair another chance to make it all right?

Court is very down to earth and doesn’t care what people think of her being a cleaner. She loves Christmas and Christmas music.

Grady is a man trying to run from his upbringing in the spotlight. In his running he finds Court and falls in love.

Everything seems fine until Grady’s past catches up to him and he’s outed as a liar & Court’s made out to be “Cinderella”

I do wish these stories were longer because I love all of the characters and the different side stories we see. But if you want a short, sweet second chance Christmas story.. this one is it!

Kinda cute, if somewhat convoluted

So, I didn’t realise this was a mid series novella. As such, it felt like I was missing little bits of the story early on. Still, that's on me. My biggest issue was the entire secret life lie. It just felt a bit... convenient. Grady was supposed to have had a hit single (as well as having been a child actor), but neither Courtney nor anyone else in the town recognised him? Hmm. I also found his secret identity rather convoluted, and I still don’t really understand why he ever lied.
Still, it was cute.

Kinda cute, if somewhat convoluted.

How can I very a short story tell a really good story?

It's the author of the story that makes the story really good no matter the length. The authorities dreams up some really good characters doesn't use a lot of flowery words and gets the message through quickly and in a short time. What would you do if you found out that the love of your life was a liar and that's actually what this book is about.......

A sweet clean Engine 17 romance. This time it's Grady and Court's story. They are having a great time at the prom in the firehouse until Grady's mother shows up. I love ll the Engine 17 books, but this one is a little different than the others. It made it a little more interesting to see how Ash Keller would spin the story. Great short read while relaxing with a cup of coffee or tea.

I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Court loved everything Christmas and who doesn't but I haven't got to her guy Grady who is a firefighter but also a farm boy which I think couldn't get any hotter. This book is apart of a series but if you start with this one is ok because you will get hooked and go back and read the others I guarantee it.

Court and Grady have been in a relationship for a while. Grady hasn’t been telling the truth about himself to the people that he’s come to know through being a firefighter. What happens when Court finds out about his past.. is there a future for them and will Court forgive him for lying.. was a nice cute story

“Grayden. Santa. Lying liar who lies.”- Court

Grady’s past catches up with him before he can tell Courtney the truth. Three years later can he make everything right?

A little novella following another firemen in the Engine 17 crew. Super fast fluffy read from Ash Keller. It can be read by itself, but it’s more fun if you’ve read the other 4 with all the cameos in it. Plus there’s more character development across the books.

Wonderful

There's only one thing wrong with Ms. Keller's books - they're too short! I want to hear more about the characters ANF their lives. The thing is, the stories still.don't disappoint. I love to get a new one and start it late at night - new adventure but not up all night reading, since I can't put them down!

Will it be a second chance romance Grady and Court. Last time they saw each other she found that he had been keeping some big secrets from her, and now years later he wants a second chance. Can she forgive him?
I wish the book had been longer!

Cute & Cozy

I wish I could give it a 3.5 cuz this one is definitely the best one I’ve read so far (though that may just be my love for Christmas showing). Even though it skipped forward, I felt like the love was more believable because they had time to love each other before everything went down (vague so no spoilers). I liked this one more than the others!

Ash Kellers books are always a good time! If I need to get out of a reading slump, read something light after a long day or just want a cute romance book I always pick up one of her books!
This was a short novella (40ish pages)

too short

I know it is a short book but dang. Really? That was it? You don’t find out much about the couple or their relationship or their pasts or what happens in the 3 years they were apart. Why did he leave her and give no explanation? What a loser.

I would have expected her to fight more or make him prove himself more before taking him back.

I love the short rom coms by Ash. Each one has been about one of the men of Engine 17 looking for his true love. This one is about Grady and Courtney (Court). You definitely won't be disappointed with this book.

I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.

This one is my favorite of the 3 Ash Keller books I’ve read so far! Still short and sweet but I loved the more Christmasy feel this one had. I love that Court was determined to not play the victim and focus on making her own success.

Cinderella and the fireman

Another cute and quick read in this series. Another swoon worthy couple and then add in some snow and Christmas 🎄. It's the perfect read leading up to the Holiday's.
