The only thing hotter than the weather down south are the boys. Worn, faded blue jeans, slow southern drawls, and those naughty moments in the back of pickup trucks a girl never forgets. Welcome to the world of the Sutton boys. Five brothers who fight, party, drink a little too much, but more importantly, they love their momma. Nothing can tear them apart… except lies, jealousy, and women.

*This is NOT a new book. This was formerly Boys South of the Mason Dixon and Brothers South of the Mason Dixon. Both books have been edited properly and put together in one book.*

All the emotions!! I have laughed, cried, thrown things and cheered so loudly for these characters. While this is two past books rewritten into one, it is the first time I have read! Who can’t love everyone of these boys and I absolutely loved Dixie and who can’t love Scarlett!! Although, when I speak to my children I hope I channel mama Sutton!!
Brent, Steel and Dallas need their own stories !!

All the MF feels, ugh! Asher & Bray are both complex characters, Scar for sure was but Dixie was simple. Not gonna lie, I was wondering where the hell the story was heading in book one but you just have to trust the process.
I wish the ending to book two had been a bit more fleshed out cause damn that packed a hell of a punch in a few short chapters 😳😢
I'm sad there hasn't been more since the release, I would have liked Dallas to get his own story. I'd even settle for a novella.

Misogyny at it’s finest - WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND

Abbi Glines needs therapy. This piece of crap is filled with sexism and misogyny. It’s infuriating. It’s shocking that an author, especially a woman, would write women in the deficit, lacking self esteem, weak. The men are promiscuous, the characters do not communicate but rather assume what others are thinking and feeling. Glines flirts with incest in a storyline where not one but two brothers date the same girl, at different times but only one of them thinks he’s found out that she’s their half sister. WTF!!! The amount of time that he doesn’t have this conversation takes chapters and chapters yet, whether or not she is their sister is wrapped up in a chapter. The way it is wrapped up is so insulting and unrealistic. Their mother never thought to say anything when the first brother was dating the female lead and abruptly broke up with her? BS!!!in
In Part 2 Glines goes for it with full on pedophilia, drugs, abuse and neglect. Not to mention characters with serious mental health issues. Glines’ writing is nonchalantly throws all these serious topics out there for the reader to process. She then uses the relationships to resolve these issues which is an extremely dysfunctional narrative.
I skipped and skimmed this hot garbage mess. This deserves space in the sewer.
SEX SCENES - Yes, too many, too much of the same that they get boring and skipped over most.

Something was wrong with this book.

I love all Abbi Gline’s books, but this one wasn’t perfect. The first story maybe could considered normal, but the second story didn’t make it. I didn’t like Bray and Scarlet’s personality.

Didn’t love the writing style

The context was great and I wanted to love this book and it started out promising but the writer was kinda all over the place and writing from too many points of views and trying to add too much of another story into this one. When she stuck to just the 2 main characters it was great but then I feel she ventured off and tried to tell too many other stories in this one and it was unnecessary. Could have been a great book otherwise and I will probably read others from this author just to see if perhaps this was a first book and she improves, because like I said the context was great and promising. I just wish she had stuck with telling one couples story at a time.

These were 2 great stories. Dixie and Asher were destined to be together but the secret that kept them apart was huge! Luckily, things worked out for them. I loved how the author displayed Asher's misery and longing for Dixie while retaining his morals and upstanding character.

Scarlet and Bray were another hot couple. Her childhood was destructive and manipulated by her mother. Again, the author did an excellent job of keeping her past a secret for as long as possible. The journal really changed everything.

I hope there will be more stories about the brothers, especially Steel and Dallas. Im sure those 2 would have epic tales after this book.

OMG the Sutton boys are the perfect small town bad boys- they work hard, play hard and love and respect their momma. Asher and Dix’s story is a rollercoaster, they fell in love very young and were torn apart by something unthinkable. Bray and Scarlet were drawn to each other by the darkness they saw in the other but the darkness was also what pushed them apart. Both stories had their wild rides but were something sweet in the end. Good reads!

Abbi, why do you ruin me?!

Such a great storyline! I thought Asher and Dixie were the golden couple, but then you gave me Bray and Scarlet! 2 days to read both books, 2 days full of crazy roller-coaster emotions and laughing out loud (my husband just rolls his eyes now). How do you create this stuff?
Also, kudos for Scarlets storyline. A tragically sad background done tastefully, and respectfully.

My emotions have went every way you can imagine! I started this book late yesterday afternoon and was able to finish it today. Abbi Glines is a very talented writer, her ability to tell a story to keep you attention is why I will continue to read her books. I found her on TikTok pure luck but honestly Booktok is my favorite thing of 2020/2021!

I need to know what happens to Dallas!! Please write these books! 🙏🙏🙏

I enjoyed the angst of both books. Asher didn't grovel enough for me. I think Bray redeemed himself. I feel so bad for Steel. I want to read how he really felt in his own book. Same with Brent, does he really think Sadie is the one?? Or just a placeholder?

Overall I enjoyed the book. The passion was there and the storyline overall was pleasing. I was a little off put how both stories just abruptly ended, but it didn't stop me from continuing on. I would love to see the true Abbi style continue ok and each brother get a book...so here is to hoping that is something she considers in the future.

Once e you meet the Sutton boys you can't stop turning the pages! Abbi Glines writes family, drama and love in a way most wouldn't think of. It's consuming. And the women they love are equally stellar! If you have gotten lost in one of Abbi Glines' books, then you're missing out!

Oh, and Abby, we need Steel, Dallas, and even Brent's HEA....... M

This book had a ton of spelling errors that drove me crazy. The only reason I finished it is because I hate to not finish something after I start it. I liked the characters for the most part, however the drama/plot that continues to happen to the main characters throughout the book were far fetched and made it seem like the author was trying too hard for a “wow” factor that never came.

Amazing!!

This book was so good. I couldn't put it down. I need to know how Asher and Dixie's story ended and how Scarlet calmed Bray down. I can't wait to hear the rest of the Sutton boys stories. Especially Dallas!

Holy Crap!!!

Picked up this book for free from Kindle and it surprised me very nearly every second. Well edited good stories. FYI there are two stories in this one book but they are both very well written and thought out not your normal free book; at least in my experience.

Intense and Spicy

It should have been 5-star if the POVs were minimized to 2. It was a great story, interesting and spicy. The number of pov written was the only problem. I love the writing style, too. Thank you, Abbi, 💕

Fantastic book.

This is actually two books and I loved them both. I cried so hard on both of them, loved being so emotional in a book. So happy they all got their happy ever after. I highly recommend this book and if there’s more in this series, I will be reading it.

I loved it. I was married to a southern boy

Reading this book brought back great memories. We lived outside of Robertsdale All and regularly ate at a small diner so I got to go back in time. I'm one of the old couples.

I really enjoyed this book. I started it as a bit of light reading, which ended up being a lot deeper than I had figured. That said, this book was really well written, flowed and made the characters come to life. Worth a read.

What is the point of writing in first person if you’re going to have to switch perspective so often we get a first person account of nearly every character?
