This book is truly remarkable and serves as a guiding principle not only for students and scholars of realism but also for anyone interested in politics and international relations as a whole. Whether or not you agree with Machiavelli's perspectives or interpret his true intentions, the book stands as a comprehensive guide covering the challenges leaders and rulers face in their political journeys, offering insights into what actions to take or avoid in various scenarios.

When I first read one of its chapters during my undergraduate studies in International Relations, I was struck by the depth and thoughtfulness Machiavelli poured into his work. It’s one of those timeless books you can revisit multiple times throughout your life, always finding new lessons to learn.

One minor drawback is Machiavelli’s heavy reliance on historical examples, particularly from his time as a diplomat and from ancient myths or political dynasties. To fully grasp the nuances, a solid understanding of Italian history during that period is often helpful. In my case, having read Puzo’s *The Family* beforehand provided valuable context, especially for sections on Cesare Borgia and Pope Rodrigo.

The Vietnamese translation is excellent, showing respect for previous translations while carefully choosing words to make complex terms accessible and meaningful in the Vietnamese context.

Overall, this is an outstanding book that anyone interested in politics should consider a must-read.

The book is one of the most practical and logical ones I've ever read.
It discusses one of the most challenging topics: politics and wars. But it is not a history book but more a manual for those who want to know and practice politics.
