DARBI features the misadventures of a bloodthirsty baby T-rex and his family as they fight for survival in a savage land. In the first arc, “Everything Hates You”, Darbi fights off pteranodons, or as Darbi likes to call them, “posers”, so that he can make it home to find his family. Darbi’s second arc, “Blooded”, dives into his origin story. Readers will meet Darbi’s adopted family for the first time and we learn how he got his scars (both real and metaphorical). Finally, in “Cretaceous Boogaloo”, Darbi and Pete must escape capture from the “Bangers” (Dakotaraptors), who have our heroes hostage as a part of their mating ritual.
Darbi started as an acclaimed webcomic that has grown into a cult sensation. Combining the humor of series such as South Park and the violence of Jurassic World, Darbi occupies a space of its own.
Sherard Jackson's hilarious and ultraviolent webcomic Darbi features the misadventures of a bloodthirsty baby T-Rex and his family as they fight for survival in a savage land. Volume 1 collects the first 3 arcs: "Everything Hates You", "Blooded", and "Cretaceous Boogaloo".
A blood thirsty, potty mouthed baby T Rex and his siblings. What isn't to love? I've read season one so far, and damn. There's some really deep moments, but then there are some really fucked up ones. Some of the humor missed for me, but overalll this is a strange lil webtoon. Check out my YouTube channel for bookish videos and monthly wrap ups!
This webseries is underrated. Sure, on the surface it's all tearing flesh and guts, and flashing teeth (and making circles), but what absolutely should not be overlooked is the deep connections the characters hold. I mean... Charmer... and Nell's backstory. Let's not ignore Darbi and his sibling's trials. The author understands the underside of human society and illustrates it well in this series. All the while, gives readers a thread of hope in the choices Darbi makes.
I did not know what to expect when getting into this, but what I got was wonderful and fun! This story had the right balance of wholesome, gruesome, cute, gory, touching, and graphic! These are the kinds of stories I find myself gravitating to lately and this one hit home for me. I loved the main character and the plot of survival is relatable. I can't wait to see what happens next!
I read this on webtoon from 2019 - 2025 and it’s my hands down favorite comic from the entire platform. Full of action, humor, embracing its edgy tone, and paying a glorious tribute to all things dinosaur. I’m so excited to collect it in print.
