The Lady Lotharios #4
Do It for the Fame
Lexi thought fake relationships were only something that happened on TV. That all changed when she ran into a desperate rock star...
Lexi Ashford prides herself on being drama-free. She's built a reputation for being a talented hair and makeup artist, and she's finally getting the kinds of gigs she always dreamed of. But when she's hired to work at a one-night-only performance, she finds herself in over her head. Somehow she gets roped into pretending to be gorgeous rock star Daya West's new girlfriend, and now the rest of the world thinks they're in love. What's a girl to do?
Daya West is just getting over a miserable breakup. Turns out that being a rock star isn't enough to save a doomed relationship, and she's still trying to piece her broken heart back together. Convincing the makeup artist at her show to be her fake girlfriend was supposed to be a one-night deal to get her ex off her back, but with the media watching their every move, they're stuck maintaining the illusion.
What starts out as an act slowly becomes something more, leaving both women confused about where the lies end and the truth begins.
Can a relationship founded on deception ever grow into more? Or will the truth destroy any hope they have of finding love?

About the author
Kaya LaSalle
9 books31 followersI always grew up hungry for stories that I could see myself in. Even the tiniest hint of queerness would make my heart beat faster, but any sort of media where queer women were the protagonists was a rarity. Even rarer if you wanted queer characters who got happy endings!
One day I decided to start writing the types of stories I wished I could read. Stories where being queer isn't something to overcome, where the main characters could fall in love and be themselves and find joy in each other. I'm mostly writing contemporary F/F romance these days, but occasionally I dabble in fantasy and sci-fi.
I love connecting with readers, so feel free to drop me a line any time you want to talk about books, dogs, or nerdy things :)

Okay read!
A kinda confusing storyline with this having to be or maybe the final book in 'The Lady Lotharios' chronicle -- and i'm leaving it up to readers to decipher why i said confusing (don't wanna give up spoilers). But it's still readable.

Enjoyed this - long time since read this series so read as stand alone and worked well. Good characters and nasty baddie.... Recommended.

Just as good as the rest of the series. Once I started couldn't put it down.

This book took hold of my imagination from the beginning and hung on to it to the last page.
Kaya LaSalle has written a delightful storyline with interesting characters. The main characters worked well together, I particularly liked how much fun they had flirting and joking together. The antagonist to my great satisfaction got his comeuppance, though it should have been stronger. I was disappointed that the best friends of the main characters were somewhat dismissed at the end, perhaps to be picked up in another book? The ending was a bit abrupt, kind of left me hanging. Do I recommend this book? Yes I do, and I look forward to my next read by Ms LaSalle.

Finally finished after having it on my To-Read list for over a month and on my currently-reading list for probably another month but here it is. Not long. Not short. Somewhere in the middle but it just took me for what felt like forever to get through it. It is a lesbian romance, but it also doesn't focus solely on just the music, although that's a part of it, and I like that it doesn't solely focus on one perspective over the other character's perspective and it shifts back evenly, and to give us this double-view of what they're both feeling.
I liked this slow-build for them until all things become actually real between them and then they have a lot of questions they have to kind of sort through.

Good Story
I really enjoyed this story. Even though Days is an actual rock star, she still has the same issues and questions we all have. The story is well written and definitely keeps you intrigued. Well done!

“But I’m tired of lying just to keep pretending that I’m someone I’m not. So this is the real me: I fall too hard and fast, and I’m scared of getting hurt, and sometimes I make terrible, fucked up decisions. But that doesn’t make me any less worthy of care, and it doesn’t make me any less than people who aren’t as quick to jump in headfirst. It’s just…me, and so that’s who I’m going to be from here on out. No more pretending, no more trying to put up a façade in the hopes that it will make people like me more, or that it will help my career, or even that it will keep me from getting hurt. Just me.”
