Avery Tripp has a new life, having been forced to put her old life behind her. But what if her past has found a way back to her present? When it looks like the threat to her safety may be real, Clint Manning is more than willing to step up to protect the woman who has teased at his senses for months. This is an exciting and suspenseful tale that is sure to capture your heart. The characters are well-drawn and extremely appealing. The storyline is fast-paced and thoroughly intriguing. It’s an engaging read that you will find hard to put down with a narrative that draws you in from the beginning and keeps you glued to every page until the very end. DEFENDING AVERY is the perfect story to wrap up this amazing series project.

Avery, in her former life, was a jeweller, but after being betrayed and providing evidence against the people who robbed her family's store, she fled to a new life in small town Colorado. Unbeknownst to her the GA has managed to keep tabs on her, just in case anything went pear-shaped. Just as well they did 'cos it appears that danger has found its way to her doorstep yet again!
Clint and his team are all settling into Fool's Gold in their new venture. He's been fighting his attraction to Avery, thinking that she is just super-shy. Little does he know that a phone call from Hank Patterson will open his eyes to how much trouble Avery is really in.
Clint may be an Alpha protector but he has a soft heart and he is never over the top or toxic. Avery is stronger than she realises and carried around a lot of unwarranted guilt. It was so heartwarming the way everyone around them knew what was happening between them, even when they both tried to pretend otherwise. Avery really has some major trust issues, which you can't blame her for, but I thought she coped admirably well when she realises that Clint is more than just hanging around.
Plenty of action and passion. Clint and Avery are a well-matched couple and the story was very well-paced.

Team Trojan, five books, new members of The Brotherhood of Protectors find romance in a Colorado town. Clint, along with the rest of Team Trojan have been booted out of the 10th Special Forces Group at Fort Carson, forced to leave the Army. He is given an undercover assignment to provide protection for Avery, who may be in danger from jewelry robbers who have gotten out of prison after serving their sentences that Avery’s testimony had got them.

Entertainment, Excitement, Emotional all wrap up and Exceptional read. I like the fact that the Guardian series reached out to the Brotherhood, Colorado division for a little assistance. Poor Avery, wrong place, wrong time, steps up and does the right thing. Her own dad turns away. Pfft Clint one of the Trojan team members who leaves Special Forces and is now part of the Colorado Brotherhood. He made me smile, came across the pages so genuine. Throw in some bad guys, some steam, and you have a great read. This was the first book I read from Team Trojan. Though it is book 5 it can be read as a standalone. I did not realize it was book 5 (hey the #5 wasn't on my arc, ok ) but I soon realized because everyone else from the team had their happily ever after. That was the only way to know, there was no dropped parts, no feelings of missing anything, which goes to show what a great author Regan Black is. Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

This is a fast-paced and intriguing romantic suspense with characters that are so adorably paired. Avery is a former jeweler turned florist and has been assigned Clint Manning to protect her when it seems that she is being stalked by thieves who are targeting her for some reason. Of course, the predictable happens and the two fall in love, but getting to that place in the story was so entertaining! Clint is a macho former army man and Avery is a gentle and compassionate woman who has been hurt so much in the past that she has difficulty trusting anyone. The two characters unite against some really vicious villains, along with the help of Team Trojan. I loved the setting of Fools Gold, Colorado, where the people are friendly and accepting. I also enjoyed the dialogue between the two main characters; it was absolutely brilliantly written repartee. Mostly, I enjoyed a good story that teaches a lesson and one in which the hero wins the fair lady’s heart. Swoon! There are some definitely steamy romance scenes to satisfy those who enjoy that as well as family relationships and budding friendships. Good romantic suspense that satisfies and made me happy to read it!

Defending Avery is fantastically exhilarating!
Author Regan Black has an incredible ability of writing that keeps you so engaged and interested, that it is hard to put her books down! Defending Avery is book 5 in the Team Trojan series, which is written by 5 different authors.
In this romantic suspense, Avery Tripp, who has been hiding in the town of Fool’s Gold as a florist, receives the protective services of Clint Manning, a former special forces member, and now a guardian with Team Trojan. I loved these two and the way their relationship bloomed from friendship to more…all while trying to keep Avery safe from the demons of her past. Avery is a stronger female character, which I always appreciate. Clint is kind of alpha with a gentle side.
This is a spinoff to the Brotherhood Protectors series (which I absolutely loved!) and can be read as a standalone in this new series. If you are looking for an amazing romantic suspense, don’t hesitate to grab this one!

I really felt for Avery who was duped by her ex boyfriend then did the right thing in turning him in only to lose everything. Moving away to avoid being found she tries to avoid making friends and putting down roots. When trouble catches up with her she finds that despite all her efforts she has made friends and they will support her and defend her. Leading that defence is Clint as long as he can protect Avery before she decides to run again. A great story with a lovely ending. I received an ARC from the author and am leaving a voluntary review.

Avery feels that she failed. She discovered that the man she was dating had deceived her. He used her to rob her father's jewelry store. Her testimony sent him to jail, but her father wouldn't forgive her. She's couldn't stay in Chicago. Avery left and started a new life in Fool's Gold Colorado. She loves it here. She feels safe. Until her enemies find her. I was glad that Clint and the Brotherhood Protectors are there to help her. Clint cares for Avery. He's a good man. I knew that he would do everything in his power to take care of Avery. She's more than an assignment to him. I fell for Clint. Avery is determined to protect everyone she cares for. I admired her strength. I enjoy watching their attraction turn to love. Regan Black wrote a wonderful romantic suspense. I couldn't put this book down. The story was well written and had dangerous twists that kept me on the edge of my seat. I enjoy catching up with old friends from previous books in this series. I'm a fan of the Colorado Brotherhood Protectors series.

This latest addition to the Trojan Team and the Colorado Brotherhood Protectors is what I would call, “the icing on the cake”. For me , it was one of the best .
Clint is one of the elite men of the Trojan Team that ended up leaving a job they loved because of the mistakes of their superior. Now a member of the Colorado Brotherhood Protector his first “mission” to protect is Avery Tripp. A woman that moved to Fool’s Gold , with a new identity and hiding from her past and the evil she left behind.
But when things happening around appear to be part of her past, she’s forced to hide but protection comes in the form of Clint Manning.
Needless to say, that as the attraction between these two intensifies, so does the danger.
A plot filled with suspense, bad guys, hunky good ones, a strong woman and romance, has the reader on the edge of their seats.
Making this one a great addition to the series.

Loved it after testifying against her ex. Avert Tipperman has been in hiding. She finally finds a town we she feels she can settle down and make a life with hopefully some friends.
But when a string of robberies starts happening not far from the town she calls home Avery not long feels she can stay.
Clint Manning had been thinking about asking her out when he is asked to be here bodyguard, discreetly. After a customer at the flowershop she works makes her feel uncomfortable. Avert is a little jittery. Clint arrives after the stranger has left and manages to coax her into let him ride along for her deliveries. As they grow closer so does the threat. When Clint has to comes clean. Avery is grateful that he is on her side but confused about how they really stand.as couple and before they can talk Avery is kidnapped.
And now Clint is on the hunt for his woman

This was a truly excellent read. Avery and Clint offer up some terrific feels and swoon as their story unfolds. This book gave my heart and my nerves a workout. Tension, danger, emotion, drama, action, suspense and heat are combined into a smart and irresistible package that you do not want to miss. I was quickly caught up in this intense tale and felt avidly invested in this couple. This whole series was awesome but this one came out on top as my favorite. Got to read this one first before the others, they can be read as a standalone, but I would advise to read them all, so can know about each guys story and the women they meet that are in this book. Avery was used so to speak in a heist at her father's jewlery store. So after she testified, she changed her name and moved several times before she ened up in Fool's Gold. She's been there awhile and no one knows her story. But other robberies start to happen and she fears she may have to move again. But Clint isn't having none of that. He's been assigned as her protector, and he'll do whatever it takes to do just that. Excellent read. Hea.

The Brotherhood gets even better. Avery is in Fools Gold to start a new life. She is hiding from the betrayal of her past. Clint didn’t think coming to town would see him wanting to settle down. Once Clint realizes he has to protect Avery there is nothing he wouldn’t do to get the job done. The story is very emotional at times and pretty tense as it becomes a waiting game to catch the bad guys. The path to love is not easy but the end result is great.

Loved this spin off into Team Trojan from the Brotherhood Protectors. Clint is one of five who have left the service when they didn't want to. Team Trojan is just what he needs with his brothers in arms. He's tasked with protecting Avery, but she's not supposed to know it. He's noticed her before, but now that he has a chance to be closer, he's not holding back. Loved the sweet moments in the book like foam on her lip, delicious breakfasts, and just being with her on deliveries, he was also very patient. Avery is really holding back with trusting her friends and family, and it just might be too late. I enjoyed reading this book, just the right amount of spice and mystery.

The story wraps humor and romance with a little suspense. The characters are captivating. Even though this is book 5 of the series, it can be read as a stand-alone.

This is book 5 in the Team Trojan series but, it can be read as a stand alone. Regan Black has given us a great ending to the series. When Clint Manning's Trojan team left the Army after they are forced out they are offered jobs with the Brotherhood Protectors in Colorado. Clint's next job is to be the bodyguard to Avery Tripp a local floral designer. There's an attraction between them that Avery is not so sure about but Clint has wanted to ask her out for awhile now. When Avery's past starts to catch up to her will Clint be able to protect her and find out why someone is after her? We get to see some old friends and meet some new. There's plenty of action, drama, and romance.

Defending Avery: Team Trojan is by Regan Black. This is about the Brotherhood Protectors out of Fool’s Gold, Colorado. Team Trojan was a Special Forces team who ran afoul of a commander who knew nothing about the way they worked. They had a mission that after getting into the field, they all felt it was against their principles and those of their teams. They refused to complete the mission and their commander brought up charges. They beat the charges; but were discharged. They were all contacted to join the Brotherhood Protectors in Colorado under Hank Patterson. Although they were glad to have a job with the Brotherhood, they were still disillusioned and angry at the way they were treated. Something was missing in their lives. They were about to find out what.
When a fellow protection company, Guardian, called the Brotherhood asking for help in watching a client, they gladly agreed to help. Clint Manning was given the assignment and he was happy to do it when he found out he would be protecting Avery Tripp. She was friends with some of the other agents’ girlfriends or wives and he had been interested in her but hadn’t made a move yet. Avery wasn’t happy with the protection; but it was necessary until she left.

Defending Avery is a magnificent wrap-up of the Team Trojan Series by Regan Black. Ms. Black has provided readers with a romantic suspense that is well-written and loaded with amazing characters. Avery has been disowned by her father even after testifying against her ex. She's changed her name and keeps a low profile in Fool's Gold. Clint and his team have transitioned from the military to the Brotherhood Protectors. When 3 of the men Avery sent to prison are paroled, Clint is assigned to keep an eye on her. Avery and Clint's story is cover to cover drama, humor, sexy bits, action and suspense. I loved every word of this book and look forward to my next book by Regan Black. Defending Avery is book 5 of the Team Trojan Series in the Brotherhood Protectors World but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.

Defending Avery is book is book 5 of the Team Trojan series. It can easily be read as a stand alone book but I recommend that you read all 5.
Avery just wants to be left alone so she can stay safe. She is constantly looking over her shoulder because she was a witness to a jewelry heist. She didn’t realize that her fiancé was a criminal until she witnessed him robbing her family’s jewelry store. She was the witness that put the 4 thieves away.
Clint was assigned to be Avery’s bodyguard but the worst part is that he was wanting to ask her out before he got this assignment. How was he going to be able to concentrate around her?
Avery doesn’t trust anyone. She trusted once and look where that got her! Can Clint break down the concrete walls that Avery has built around herself?
I really enjoyed this story and I was drawn to the wonderful characters that surrounded Avery and Clint.

Anyone who has been reading the Colorado Brotherhood series has been waiting for the guys of Team Trojan (and yes that is where they get their name from) after they where mentioned in an earlier book and I definitely couldn't wait for their stories and I wasn't disappointed at all
Avery has finally built a new life for herself after fleeing her past She was a jeweller for her families business and had no idea that her boyfriend was actually a jewel thief setting her family business up for a robbery After her testimony caused them all be serving time in prison she thought it was all over even if she couldn't forgive herself. Now her past has come back to haunt her the gang have served their sentence and they are bent on revenge It will be up to Clint from Team Trojan to protect her which wouldn't be so hard if he wasn't totally fascinated by her Can he keep her safe and can they have a future You will have to read to see

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Defending Avery . This is a well written and interesting story . I really enjoyed reading it . Avery Tripp moved to Fool's Gold to build a new life after her old life imploded . She testified against her ex and his gang that robbed her family's jewelry story . Clint Manning and his former team Trojan now work for Colorado division of Brotherhood Protectors . He's sent to protect Avery which he happens to be interested in . Clint admits he's there to protect her but he is also interested in a relationship with her . As tention and danger mounts Avery finds herself afraid for Clint because he's putting himself in danger because of her . This story is intriguing and Suspenseful, action packed and definitely romantic . I highly recommend taking the time to read .
