Jon Koker was raised on a healthy diet of books and the love of Jesus Christ from a very young age. He wrote his very first poem when he was seven and has been writing ever since.
At seventeen, he was diagnosed with Part Two Bipolar disorder, as well as an unspecified Anxiety Disorder. These would later appear as central themes in his poetry, battling mental illness daily.
After years of not finding the right medicine to help combat his symptoms, he began to write about his thoughts and feels in a brutally honest and sincere manner.
At the urge of friends and family, he self-published his first collection of poetry at age twenty-two.
He is the author of Where the Birds Gather, What the Trees Hide, Hope Bleeds, Napalm Psalms, SON, Duv-Z, and DADDY.
He lives happily in Southern Indiana and continues to write daily, with the hope that his work will encourage others to keep fighting, even in the darkest of nights...
