Meeting the Family & A Murder . . .

Liam Mason has returned to Magpie and wants to get to know Georgina Scott better. To his surprise, his mother calls to say a robbery and murder occurred upstairs while she was entertaining dinner guests!!! He is going to need to go there to see this for himself.

Liam invites Georgina to come along and meet his family. It is not the pleasant meet-and-greet she had hoped for, however. His parents were aloof, his ex-girlfriend made things uncomfortable, and a reporter on the scene who seems to know a bit too much about the murder. What are Liam’s intentions? Are his parents safe here, or is there an explanation for how this murder could have occurred while everyone calmly ate dinner?

Liam receives a call from his mother about a dead body where she and his father are staying. Liam asks George to go with him. When they arrive, his mother Ella greets George but doesn't shake her hand while his father William is just hostile. George and Liam take a look at the gruesome, blood-covered crime scene and come away with their own conclusions. Things progress between our heroes while they help catch a murderer and an accidental killer. This story ends on a high note. Highly recommended.

these two are on fire

Loved the second instalment.

Liam has returned to Georgina in Magpie after his last undercover job. Unfortunately they don’t get the peace they were looking for when Liam’s estranged mother calls needing his help.
Dragging the couple into a dramatic investigation we realise the depths people will go to for greed.

This was enjoyable and I loved seeing how Liam and George’s relationship progressed. I love how neither plays games with each other. It’s refreshing. Looking forward to the next one

George and Liam's romance is moving along, but they're headed to Banff, where his parents are visiting. They may be involved in a robbery/murder that occurred in the house where they were staying. There are some interesting new characters, some of whom may be criminals. His family is quite aloof, and at time downright rude to George. I loved this story, a perfect followup to the prior book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Moving on

There is a lot to love in this series - characters, setting, good flow in dialogue and the excitement of an investigation. I especially like Georgina and Liam as a couple, facing burnout and injury that is forcing changes in their lives. I look forward to more from the city of Magpie in beautiful Canada.
