This second book in the "hell's fire burning" - series picks up right where the first one ended. Cat, Dax, Marek and Colton have to find a way to stay safe on earth while trying to make sense of all the secrets about Cat's past that keep trickling in. Will Cat's past ultimately bring them closer together, or tear the bond apart?

While this book is filled with a bunch of different paranormal characters, the author still finds a way to let them all interact in a way that feels entirely new. With the wolves for example the storyline doesn't focus on the alpha's, but on the runts and the ones doing the groundwork. Because of that, this series keeps on surprising me and giving me a different view on known tropes. My favorite character remains Cat, but I highly enjoy every scene where Lucifer shows up. Just as the first book, this second one has a healthy balance between plot and spice and it remains a page-turner because questions only get answered slowly.

I recommend reading this series, and I'm definitely going to grab the third book as well. While I'm happy to have found out more about Cat, there are still a lot of remaining questions that I'm looking forward to find the answers to.

Wow

This book was hopping. Always something happening and their playing catch up. Finally got some answers about her past. The multiple povs were the perfect touch. Their story was beautiful. It was perfectly written, she’s supposedly this super bad soul, fully deserving of her torture. The guys, slowly fall for her at different times. Some taking longer than most to accept and trust that there’s more to her story than what was laid out as her historical facts. Reading how hurtful they were to her, she felt the hurt but it didn’t stop her from moving forward without trying to hurt them back. Eventually, truth comes to light and it all starts to add up. I liked how the fmc made her own contacts, she was great at finding solutions that work in favor while also saving lives. It was written full of emotions that felt natural to what was going on.
I also really liked the ending. It wasn’t soul destroying like some cliffies are. It was heartbreaking to read the ending tho, they had been through so much and finally got to a spot where they all trusted each other. Now, she’s off to go crush a doppelgänger. I’m hopeful she reunites with her guys sooner rather than later.

Now we're talking!
I can tell Jade Bones really settled into storytelling over the course of writing this trilogy.

The first book was good (albeit lacking in clear direction), but in this one, the plot is unfolding, making sense, growing and changing! There is character development, spice and a blossoming relationship between the main characters.
There are demons, angels, wolf shifters, bear shifters, tiger shifters (even hyena shifters?!), an ancient vampire power couple, and more!
All these additional characters added so many extra layers and richness to the story.

While some of the more 'surprise' aspects of the storyline were a bit predictable for me, I think this book significantly improved on the previous book and has certainly paved the way for the end of the trilogy to be a good time! Onto the third one!

A brilliant paranormal reverse harem romance series, this is book two which starts after the cliffhanger ending of book three. Another action packed high adrenaline story filled with adventure, suspense, mystery, secrets revealed but more to solve, danger, sexy scenes, hot males and plenty of twists and turns culminating in another epic cliffhanger ending. Jade Bones has kept my expectations alive with this amazing story, turning into a fantastic series and I look forward to finding out what happens next in the final book of the series.

Cat and the boys are regrouping after what's happened in Hell. Her powers are evolving, the group is trying to heal their bond, as well as come to terms with Cat's past life. The storyline is high intrigue with Cat's past trickle reveals, and the plot thickening of what's really happening. The showdown with Ronin proves to be fruitless, but offers cat a chance to embrace her past and build a new future. I can't wait until the next book in the series.

This is a fairly fast paced read. The characters are realistic and the story is engaging. It held my attention. I did not want to put it down. I really liked the suspense in the story. It made it all the more exciting. I cannot wait to continue reading the next one in this series.

This is a great continuation of Cat's story. It picks up right where the first book left off, making for a great transition between books. I enjoyed the plotline and heat between characters. This is well written with great development. I am very excited for the third book.

Oh my gaaaaawd, I need book 3 immediately! Lol this was great, plenty of angst, twists and turns, and steam. Plus the action and political intrigue surrounding hell was very interesting. Would definitely recommend this series to anyone that loves paranormal rh and fantasy.
