Letting the Past Interfere
This does a good job of setting the groundwork for the four part series that follows. I am looking forward to the twists and reveals, as well as a long overdue D/s scene or ten, as Raine, Hammer, and Liam navigate what is to come.
I do feel for Raine, though. Her heart is battered repeatedly by Hammer who constantly denies the growing and evident feelings he has for her. It's already cost him and it sounds like it's only going to get worse.

I liked that we finally got to see how Raine met Macon, how he then cared for her all the while keeping her at arms length. Interesting when Liam showed up, loved how he caught on to things right away and decided he'd help his friend.

Short novella that gives you a peek into each character before the real fun begins. I can't wait. Hoping that diving into the next book will pull me out of my slump.

Macen “Hammer” Hammerman found Raine injured and scared out of kind hiding behind the dumpster in the back of his sex club. He decided to take her in and help get her back on her feet. As time went by he wanted to keep her safe and never let her go. Unfortunately he never acted on it and unknowingly sent Raine mixed signals. Other men are beginning to take notice and Raine has no idea it’s coming, it will also catch Hammer off guard. He will have to act or lose out. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next book because this one left us frustrated.

Why oh why do authors do this?
Thought that this was a new book by the authors but I’ve read this before as a complete book. It’s well written but why oh why are such well beloved and admired writers breaking up a story into several books? Is it the publishers or authors making these decisions as it really does put me off. I’d rather pay for a full story than these snippets at an outrageous price.

This was great..but I hate cliffhangers. This is a story about Raine, and Liam Hammer rescue Raine in his back alley behind his BDSM place. She is only 17. Hammers helps her and shelters her for years. But will not let anyone touch her. She is secretly in love with him. He will not have her, but will not let anyone else either. Then Liam, Hammers friend shows up and steals Raine away.
On the story goes. Read the up’s and downs of this relationship. Will they both loss her??

Enjoyable.
In enjoyed this novella but it does end in a cliffhanger. It’s just a taste of what’s to come. Macen has really tried to resist his feeling for Raine. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the story.

Great, quick prequel! I’m completely insane over the entire series (both Raine Falling and Heavenly Rising). Only complaint is I wish it was a little bit longer.

This book was one that just drew you in from the beginning and Hammer wow he was so intense in this book and so good with Raine … look forward to seeing what happens next

I love how it gives you info on the relationships of all the main characters while also makes you want to read the rest of the series just to find out who gets with Raine and to find out what happened to Raine that night 6ish years ago and what happened to Liam, Macen, and the other friend's friend that passed away.

If you've read the Doms of Her Life series and have always wanted to know how Raine ended up being rescued from the alley by Hammer and when she met Liam this is a very quick look into that time period. It was a fun read.
