Zhenyi Hypatia Drakos had two astrophysicists as parents, one Greek and one Chinese. They gave her a love of space and the intellect to study it. Her name, glasses and independent spirit made her the target of bullies from her first day of school. To survive Zen adapted by becoming self-sufficient and capable of fighting back. When the pulsar she discovered at age thirteen begins changing, she discovers that humans are not alone in the universe. Draconis is the story of how Zen shares this news with the world and prepares herself and the planet for what is headed their way.
There's a whole lot of preparations happening and lots of plans to try to help Aussies and New Zealanders alike. Zen's such a little badass and it's always good to see the little Einstein in action.
I loathe that these episodes are so short though... and don't even get me started on that ending!
The preparation for the environmental disaster and the arrival of the aliens continues as Zen plans and develops more possible technological solutions to their problems. I always enjoy these stories, but I did think there was a bit too much time spent with Zen looking after her brother. I also wasn’t happy with the ending, which was a bit of a cliff-hanger.
This is an OUTSTANDING series. It was darn difficult to put it down and not read all 6 books in “one sitting”. Fantastic story, gifted writing, and immensely interesting characters. I need the next book, please!!
I got into this series for something by the author to read while waiting for follow on books in three other series... Mr stand/corden is a really good writer
