New town. New Job. One new friend who didn’t know her name or address. Would anyone ever notice that a madman took her?
Mallory Sasse was lonely and needed a change. She left her hometown to find a new future and maybe a new lover. Determined to make this change successful, she leased a great townhouse and started her new job as the lead pharmacist, then looked for some fun. At a meet and greet in a nearby town, she met him.
He was fit, authoritative, with a gentle smile and greying at his temples. Monroe took her breath away. Her attraction grew over the weeks, fast approaching that relationship commitment line. The day she would take that ultimate step, Mallory found herself in the grip of a madman and all hope for a future seemed lost. But after seeing a dying woman in the cellar with her and realizing her destiny if she quit, survival became Mallory’s only option.
Monroe Merton was missing something in his life. Retired Army. Great job. Staring at 45 with no prospects of love ahead. He had been okay with that, but as he watched his friends find love, he wondered. Then he met Mallory. After several meet ups in a group, and hours of phone conversations, Monroe knew he was falling hard for her. When Mallory was as ready as he was to take the next step, he asked her on a date. Alone. Hopefully, alone. Mallory sounded excited the night before, but when the time came, she never showed. The woman ghosted him. She didn’t even answer his calls. She had disappeared.
Just when Monroe knew Mallory was in trouble and he was on her trail, the police call. “Monroe Merton?”
Author Note: Saving Mallory is Book 4 of an after Military Security Series Romance with lots of hot, masterful men, intelligent professional women, and tons of sassy action. A standalone book, but may be more enjoyable when read in order. Other Books in Series: Saving Sharlee, Saving Jessie, Saving Ivy
USA Today bestselling author of Contemporary and Historical Romances. I'm a proud Texan living it up in Alaska's beauty who loves to write both sweet and spicy romances.
My heroes and heroines can be found in this time or another, modern or historic, professionals or not. All include a little naughtiness, sternness, seriousness, a taste of suspense and a HEA.
I have always loved writing about sassy ladies and have done it for fun but never thought I could do it for other's enjoyment. It's my dream job and I hope I never come back to the real world.
Books by this author really is a hit or miss for me. It is unfortunate, as I always try to capture the wonder I have from a couple of her better books (one is actually a favourite of mine in the domestic discipline trope) by reading a new release.
The first half of the book is a big inner monologue that is so repetitive it felt as if whole paragraphs were copied and pasted in. Add to this a suspense element that was so slow to resolve that you can almost forget what happened to our FMC, and I almost DNF.
The book did pick up pace in the latter part, which I felt was much better written. I loved the premise of the book, I just wished for better execution.

This is the 4th book in the Safe and Secure series, and this is Mallory Sasse and Monroe Merton's story. It is a story of suspense, drama, and many twist and turns. Now add in lots of danger and romance and you have the makings of a very read.
While this is the fourth story in the Safe and Secure series, it will read well as a stand-alone. It does have key players from the two previous books, like Jac and Sharlee Reynaud, and many of the people within the business. The story is full of mystery, suspense, danger, action, adventure, secrets, angst, and kidnapping, and then throw in a romance. The story will mainly revolve around Mallory Sasse and Monroe Merton.
Mallory is new to town, has a job at The Apothecary as the pharmacist, and only knows a few people. She has been traveling outside of town to attend private munchies and has finally connected with someone she seems to feel could lead to a promising relationship. They seem to hold the same desires within a BDSM relationship. Long talks on the phone add to that trust and connection.
Monroe Merton is part of Reynaud and Associates Securities. Retired from the Army, and now forty-five, he is ready to find someone special. Meeting Mallory at a recent munch, the two clicked immediately. So, when they are prepared to go out on an actual date, why is she ghosting him? Something feels off—and that is soon confirmed.
The story’s plot is a roller-coaster ride of danger and suspense. Mallory is kidnapped but manages to escape and get help—she also leads the police to another woman held who is in critical condition. When Monroe gets to the hospital and sees his girl, he is ready to kill, but first, he must be there for her, giving her comfort and assurance. The Reynaud group will take her in and offer her protection while trying to uncover what happened—and how demented her kidnapper is. It will be Monroe’s job to not only work on the case but also help Mallory heal physically, mentally, and emotionally. While the bruises heal, the nightmares continue.
Monroe: Practice your submission and trust, sweetheart. I won’t demand much of you except obedience and honesty, and that comes with trust. Mallory, I would die trying to keep you safe and so world every team member on this property, inside and outside those gates. Mallory: I’m trying. It’s just recent events that have violated my trust meter. It will take a while to come back online.
Sharlee: These guys are the best at security. I promise they will not only keep you safe, but they will also help fill in the blanks. They might seem like hard ____, and they can be when necessary, but to their family of which you now belong, there is nothing they won’t do. These men, these teams will have your back, always.
“My world is out of control. I can’t sleep more than an hour or so without having another nightmare, and I’m a prisoner even though I’m no longer captive in that cellar.”
The story will have the team working in tandem with the local police and the FBI while protecting Mallory. The deeper into the perps background, the cases of missing women expand as more bodies are found on the property. But he had an accomplice, a woman, yet there is no record of a marriage, nor can they locate her. As time goes by, Mallory struggles with moving forward. She wants to return to her job, but Monroe is uncomfortable with her doing so. Even with several weeks of one member staying at the business, nothing happens. Will life return to normal, or danger just around the corner.
The story has the good, the bad, and the evil. The story is a page-turning tale with a great cast of characters, plenty of interactions, life, deadly danger, and fear—of the unknown and living again. Mallory and Monroe, along with Garrett, are placed in one of the safe houses as they try and piece together who could be an accomplice to the crimes. Together, they navigate the dominant-submissive lifestyle they were starting to embrace, and it helps Mallory learn to trust by giving her control over to Monroe. The story has several scenes of discipline, along with BDSM play and intimacy. While this story does have an ending—it also ends with a segue into the next book.
This had action drama and some really steamy parts. Mallory thinks she finally might have found the one. the day they are going to go on their date she gets kidnapped now she doesn't know how she will go on. Will Monroe be able to save her and help her heal read this great read to find out.

Once again we are with the team at Reynaud and Associates Securities and while this is the fourth book in the series and previous characters are around it can be read as a stand alone but do yourself a favour and read the entire series
Monroe Merton is ex army and works at Reynaud and Associates Securities he is also a member of the local BDSM scene and at 45 he is ready to settle down with that special person he thinks he may have found that person in Mallory Sasse she is new to both the town and the BDSM world They first met at a munch and have since been communicating and finally they have decided to meet in person so why does Mallory stand him up. All becomes clear when he learns that Mallory was kidnapped by a Psycho she may of escaped but the woman who was also kidnapped is in a bad way. After checking that Mallory is ok Monroe is determined to track down the person who tried to steal her but it will take his team and the local police and FBI to solve this case and we go on a wild ride as they try to break the case
Mallory moves to a new town and new job. Now she goes to a place a town away to meet new people and meets Monroe, a retired military man who is with a security company. Sparks fly for them as their relationship gains strength, but when they start to date away from the meeting group, she does not show up. Shortly he realizes she is in trouble and it is the worst kind. Suspense, danger and nightmares change their lives, but compassion and trust is rebuilt with love. The characters have great backstories and intense feelings. The storyline is a wild roller coaster ride from having new deep feelings for someone to intense danger and back again. Loved how Monroe was gentle with the after effects of her trauma, understanding it at a core level with his own. The ending was great. Can not wait for more about this group.

This is the 4th book in the Safe and Secure series. It can be read as a stand-alone but there are characters from the prior books involved in the storyline. Mallory and Monroe's story is full of suspense, secrets, action, danger, romance etc. Mallory is new to town and works at the Apothecary as the pharmacist. While Monroe is retired Army and works at Reynaud and Associates Securities. When the two meet they click right away so when she doesn't show up for their date he knows something's wrong. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. I will say that you definitely need to read this book to see what happens.

Mallory is new to town and she has been attending some munches in local towns looking for a Dom who matched with her kinks. She had just found Monroe and they were developing a relationship when Mallory vanished. Monroe was sure that she hadn't ghosted him and he was deploying all the resources of Reynaud and Associates Securities when Mallory reappeared, having escaped from her captor. Only Monroe made her feel safe and he is happy to protect her, but who did he need to protect her from?
A great story that is hard to put down.

I love all the characters in this series. Each bring different lives and personalities that make each story unique. I love the the author adds little nuggets of information from previous books to help with remembering the characters when they appear in the next book. As a very avid reader it helps tremendously. Can't wait for the next book. Already pre ordered.
I enjoyed the overall storyline; however, there were some places that seemed to jump around a bit. There were enough context clues to connect the dots and I did enjoy some aspects of the main characters. This book could have easily gotten five stars if the actual plot was the primary focus with the specifics of the main characters unique relationship dialed down just bit.

This was an amazing read. I was totally captivated by this story and the growing relationship with Monroe and Mallory. Strong and protective, Monroe gives Mallory what she needs as her life is in danger. Love the other characters and can't wait to read from this series. Emotional, suspense, frame, steamy scenes. So good!

It was a good read, somewhat complex as the other characters have their own stories...so I wish I would have read these in order. Was a little slow starting off but by the middle I was hooked and could not put it down. I hope to read Garrett's story soon! I recommend this just stick with if it seems slow at first definitely worth it.

This is the next book in the Safe and Secure series. Mallory and Monroe clicked when they met, but when Mallory doesn't show up for their date, Monroe knows something is wrong. Mallory saves herself and escapes, but has a hard time trusting now. Monroe helps her overcome those fears. Great addition to the series and there is an introduction to the next book.
I received an advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
I loved this book, with its adventure, twists and turns, and spankings and love. Seeing the relationship develop in spite of what she had gone through was wonderful, although it was horrible how she kept questioning herself. The men and women that made up the team and their women really were a family of their own, and they protected their own, even when it was not what the protected party wanted :) I can't wait to see what happens next...
Mallory and Monroe are starting a relationship but Mallory is kidnapped. Monroe thinks he's been ghosted but that's not the case. There's a mystery, a group of alpha males and their mates, and steamy scenes that are a little kinky. Love the story and the players.

The fourth book in the Safe and Secure series and the first book I have read in it I will be reading the other books. Mallory Sasse and Monroe Merton's story of suspense, drama, twists, turns, danger, villains, and romance. The story kept me turning pages. maybe I'm just outgrowing my alpha male protective hero phase but honestly the behaviors of Monroe, jac and all the rest of them were a little annoying in this book. I love the safety in Monroe & mallory’s relationship and usually i’m just swept away by that but this time I just couldn’t fall into it.
Overall this is a heartwarming story that is surrounded with mystery, danger, suspense, chemistry, steam and heat. This is an incredible addition to the Safe and Secure and it had me sitting on the edge of my seat the entire time. I highly recommend this series.
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.
I've read several books written by Alyssa Bailey; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is the fourth book in the Safe and Secure Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Mallory and Monroe; she’s moved to a new town, got a new job and meets a new guy; he’s retired military but knows his life is missing something until he meets her. After seeing each other at a group meeting a few times and talking on the phone for hours they finally decide to go on a date but a madman kidnaps her and is holding her in a cellar with another woman that is dying she knows she has to fight. Monroe thinks she’s ghosting him until he figures out something is wrong just as the police contact him.

This is heartwarming book that has a cruel mystery to be solved. Monroe is one of the most patient, loving and firm lovers you could wish for and someone Mallory has been searching for for a long time, but just when she finds him it is nearly all snatched away when she is kidnapped by a psychopath. All the characters from previous books are involved and they make for a delightful, caring family that are so supportive of each other. The mystery of the accomplice drives the story and allows for the development of the characters and then just when Morgan and Mallory get their happy ending, the book finishes with an intriguing message.. I can’t wait to read Garrett’s story.
