M. Dutchy: I'm a hobby writer who loves stories about fantasy and the occult. Next to this, a good detective is an excellent read too. Reading, traveling, my pets, and learning about life is my interest. You are never too old to learn.

I'm born and raised in the Netherlands. I started to write to put my own stories to paper to clear my head.
Even as a young child, I would conjure up stories with my imagination, sharing them, I've developed my storytelling and writing quite a bit since then. Still, the thrill of language and creation I first discovered as a child has never gone away.

While I'm Dutch, I write my books in English. I start doing this because I wanted to understand the language better. As I said, I love to write, and I have my own style in it.
I hope my books will be loved as much as I enjoyed writing them.

So far, the only book published is the first part of my Foresthill book series….

There will be more to come soon ….

Get in touch with me if you've got any comments, questions, suggestions, or want to say hello. I'd be more than happy to hear from you.

I loved the plot and the characters but it was really hard to get beyond the grammar errors. If it had a good once over with an editing eye, it could easily be a 5 star book. It’s just a little hard to read as is.

This is a pretty good story that combines fantasy, a murder mystery and a romance. The characters are good; the book is well paced; the plot is interesting. However, the book needs a lot of editing ... spelling, incorrect word usage, proper grammer, etc. Actually some of the mistakes are amusing (eg., admission for ignition) but many are confusing. I think it would be beneficial to have the book reviewed and corrected by a native English speaker. As I said, this has the bones of a worthwhile story but needs to be reworked.
I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway for this honest review.

I loved the story and read it with joy. I look forward to part 2
I read the book again and now the edited version. The author had sent me a new copy. I'm happy with the new version. While I did not mind the grammar mistakes in the old version, I can understand someone would. I still love the book but the newly edited version is defiantly an improvement

I hoped to love this book. Everything about it is right up my usual alley. But the typos were distracting, and I almost wondered if the author used English as a second language (and then, upon reading the authors bio discovered that to be the case). The story was good, and I definitely think a good editor would make this story a great read.

For the author, your story and characters are great. You have a wonderful understanding of the English language. There are just nuances in the writing of the vernacular that made this stand out. I read this book and left the review as part of the Goodreads giveaway. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read your work.

Really liked the story but it needs editing. There are so many grammatical errors that it interfered with the story. It appeared to have been edited by a computer.
