Caught between what should've been and everyone's idea of who I should be, I had to find myself again. That was easier said than done with an interfering, overbearing family like mine.
I told myself I was done rescuing my irresponsible sister, but I didn't expect flying across an ocean to help her one last time would lead to my own saving.
It was when I surrendered to desire and released my past that love taught me just what could come from letting go.
Beautiful and moving love story. The book moves quickly and with easy and relatable dialogue. Likeable characters which have you rooting for them to end up together. Another wonderful romance by Fiona Keane
I always marvel at Fiona Keane’s romances. They seem so effortless and natural, like the words just flow from the creation in her mind, to the pages. THE ONE gives me the exact same feels.
Mia is having a day. Her family still loves her ex-boyfriend and they’re making it impossible for her to get over it. Her mom’s book club exasperates everything when it suggests that she read a self-help book on how to find the perfect “one.”
After her needy little sister calls Mia from London after a fight with her boyfriend, Mia, always the responsibility “good” one, is tasked to fix it and flies across the sea to save her. But by the time she gets there, things are resolved. Sort of.
She meets Rhys, her sister’s boyfriend’s brother. Ahhh, this man is so sweet and creative and British and lovely. The sunshine to Mia’s grump. He tries to make her smile but she is not that easy to impress. Even though Mia gives him the cold shoulder, he persists in developing a friendship with her by sending her flirty and cute text messages from London.
Slowly, Rhys breaks down the walls that Mia builds to shield herself from love and the potential for more heartbreak. But Rhys has his own heartbreak too and he understands her feelings. Rhys and Mia become friends, then lovers, and deal with a (super) long-distance relationship.
THE ONE is a book about accepting our imperfect families, living in the present, and finding love when, and where, you least expect it. It’s a beautifully written, character-driven, quiet romance that’s perfect to read on a beautiful fall day with a cup of tea. When you flip to the last page, you’ll be sad it’s over—but Rhys and Mia will own a piece of your heart.
Mia is a History Professor that has a bumpy love life. Mia tries really hard to be the perfect sister and daughter but deep down no matter what she does her families not happy. Rhys is a photographer and loves to travel. When Mia’s sister and Rhys brother who have a dysfunctional relationship decide to get married these two try to be as supportive as they can. As their friendship grows so do their feelings for each other, they just need to ignore the people around them! This is a cute and sexy quick read. It was a funny entertaining sassy romance that I truly Enjoyed. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
Oh man. Rhys... what is not to love? He is gorgeous, sweet, knows how to be supportive and patient. AND, he is British! *swoon*
Mia. This woman has put up walls to protect her heart. How do you move on from the ex when the family doesn't allow you? Well, she will find out. Perhaps with the brother of her sister's man? Hmmm...
This story, about patience, acceptance, and loving someone, flaws (imperfect family) and all.
I loved this one. The characters were multidimensional. Their emotions, realistic. Their chemistry and relationship growth was perfectly timed and matched well with their individual backstories.
This story flowed well and held my interest from beginning to end. I enjoyed the leading characters' romance and the supportive cast, "problems" and all. A true story of finding 'the one'
I would recommend this one for those who love a good, sweet, romance story.
Everything about this story makes it a must read to me. It’s a romance that is so much more. I loved the internal conflicts of these characters and their realizations and growth. The author really grasped the emotions of Rhys and Mia, allowing you to experience everything with them. It’s a beautiful story you do not want to miss. Once you a start reading, you will not be able to put it down until the end.

Right, first I have to say I really enjoyed this book, Mia and Rhys are perfect, their journey and romance really kept me reading and loving it. I did get a little angry at Mia's sister and mother, my god did the way they treated and spoke to Mia annoy me but that didn't ruin the book it made it better because you are cheering Mia on through the whole book to tell them to shove it lol, enjoy her life and live for herself and not worry about them. Well done Fiona Keane, Fantastic story that I'm sure I will be re reading again and again.
