Of course I am sad to see the Versatile Layer Series end, but the ending was so well done and wonderfully satisfying that I feel perfectly content with how things turned out. That makes it easier to walk away, and ready to move on to whatever the author comes up with next! I can't stress enough the exceptional skill Thomas Davis has for writing action / adventure scenes one moment, and tender, emotionally riveting moments the next - and doing both so well, and integrating them so seemlessly. With well-drawn, endearing, loveable characters, great plots, and plenty of suspense, I highly recommend the whole series. The series didn't end the way I thought it would - the final scene was even better than I had imagined. And I loved the little glimpse into the future at the very end. Davis gives the perfect blend of fantasy, humor, romance, suspense, and action / adventure. I just love these books... Goodbye for now, Jake and Adeola. Thanks for the many hours of reading pleasure.

The Invisible War is a captivating read. I loved the world building and the very descriptive writing. This is not my usual genre, but I was engrossed with every page. It's the first book I've read by Mr. Davis and I look forward to many more.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves steampunk fiction.

Wait, what? What did I just read. This is going to take a bit to process. Read through the night on this one and then... it ended. A reader can get lost in this book in a good way. You can get so far into this world, when you're done you're not sure your are. Fascinating and captivating.
