I've mastered my magic, faced down demons, and killed an evil Fae king. There isn't much I can't do. Except tell my kids I'm a powerful witch-Fae hybrid.
My kids return home to Pymm's Pondside for the holidays. Before I can tell them about my magic, a pixie, and a mermaid blow my cover. Their shock is expected, but not their anger.
Turns out my oldest nearly burned down their house and was convinced something was wrong with her. I could have helped her if I hadn't insisted on hiding my magic from them.
The girls give me the silent treatment while my son can't stop asking questions. Thank goodness Violet and Aislinn are here to help ease my children into the magical world.
But as my daughters start to come around, all three of my children go missing. Convinced the evil entity stalking Cottlehill Wilds is to blame, I enlist the help of all my friends.
When I fall under the same siren spell as my kids, I'm thrown to the proverbial wolves and Sebastian is my only hope. Is his love for me strong enough to overcome the enchantments? And can he rescue us all?
This is a Yuletide short in the Midlife Witchery series, featuring Fiona. When he kids come over to Pymm’s Pondside, they are thrust into the magical world with a bang!
This is kind of a bridge between the Violet centric trilogy and the next books which are Aislinn centric. Fiona was the main character in the first three books, and is best friends with the other two. That puts this firmly in the ‘not a standalone’ category, and you do need to have read the previous books in the series if only to set the scene.
It’s all good though, this is an enjoyable series with several mature heroines, lots of magic and magical adventures. Fans of paranormal women’s fiction will be sure to enjoy the series as a whole, as well as the Mystical Midlife in Maine sister series!
Fiona has finally reached the point where she can't hide her new life from her children. They come to Pymm's Pondside from America to spend Christmas with their mother, only to find she has been keeping big secrets from them. Things like: their dead grandmother is not so dead, not only is their mother a witch but also half fae, her local friends are also witches, she has a boyfriend, all three siblings also have magical powers. Just a regular, old Christmas (Yule) with family.
Emmie, Grayson, and Skylar are about to get a crash course in the highs and lows of being part of a magical extended family. Wish them luck. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
I totally loved how this magical reveal to Fiona's kids was a train wreck. It just goes to show you can't control everything! Then throw in sirens that kidnap her kids and things get chaotic. Bas is fantastic with her son. I think Emmie is the hardest to get through to. The kids get to see the Hellmouth & meet the pixies. They take the kids to the magical market. And they decorate the tree while practicing their magic. I think the best part is learning the kids already had experiences with their magic manafesting. I loved this warm novella of learning about their family history more.
Brenda Trim has made Christmas (Yule) in a while different light. If you didn't know what Yule was you do now. The continuing story of the North side of Forty is perfect. You get to see Sebastian in a while different light. The baby dragon is in it's way and I'm excited to see how that goes. Best Yule time story.
This book was the perfect connection to all the families and helped bring more magical possibilities to even more books in the series. I hope to be able to read about all the next generations who have abilities and what they do with them in the future. Don't stop writing Brenda; you have a gift, and it needs to be shared.
Oh my what a great story only one problem it was to short One thing about Brenda Trim's writing is that it flows effortlessly and keeps you reading... this story was no different. I love the characters and they are complex. Truly a great set of characters that I wish we're my friends.. Highly recommend this series
This is a really good book by a very talented writer. The storyline kept me on my toes. I can't wait for the next book by this author. She is a very good and original storyteller! You won't be disappointed at all.
This is an excellent series, and keeps getting better. Fiona's kids arrive for Christmas, and she has to tell them about all the changes in her life since her magic came in, and they meet Sebastian. What could possibly go wrong?
So I bought this book thinking I was going to read about Fiona and her kids but the book is about Phones and Haydes coming to visit for christmas! I love this series so far but I am confused, anyone else?????
Vi's kids are added to the magical mix and chaos abounds. New powers, magical beings, meeting Sebastian and their ghoulish grams set the stage for a memorable Yule visit. Loved it!
I was worried that the children would act naive and childish about both Bas and their magical abilities but since they were kidnapped I think it further cemented the reality that her mom is a bad azz and so are the aunties. The holidays were good for them.
That just goes to show, Ya don't mess with the Mama!
Fi has her kids home for the holidays, and things get off to a bad start. Next they get attacked by demons And lastly a clan of sirens tries to kill her kids!
Fiona's children are home for winter break. Now Fiona must let them of the magic that runs in the family. And that their once dead great grandmother is alive. Love this series. Great characters.
Magical Yule Tidings (Midlife Witchery Book 7) by Brenda Trim. Fiona’s children come home for Christmas and find they have magic then they are kidnapped by Sirens and Fiona and Sebastian nearly die rescuing them.
I get absorbed in the books and can't put them down. I just wish the different storylines were separated. I don't want to be jumping from characters in England to Maine to wherever and sorting through the different off shoots in 50+ titles is a bit of a pain.
Fiona's three children are coming to visit for the holiday and she plans to tell them about the magic she has and that they will have too. Great story!
A pleasant story for preteens. Simple, but a little exciting. Short, but holding the storyline, and leaving the reader feeling pleased with the ending.
