I’m in love with a man who is marrying somebody else. At least that’s what was supposed to happen when I was kicked out of the wedding last night by the bride’s father.
I find myself without a job, without a home, and without the pro football quarterback I’ve fallen for. The only thing left to do is head back to my parents’ place in Kansas as I give up every dream I’ve dared to have since I left it.
I’m just not sure I’m ready for the turnover.
TURNOVER is the fourth book in the VEGAS ACES: THE QUARTERBACK series. This series must be read in order.

“You always have a choice” and “control the narrative”; will these strategies work to keep Michelle from destroying what Jack loves most?
This book has Kate and Jack running on all emotions, highs after the "wedding" to lows of Michelle returning from the “Honeymoon.” Now they have decisions to make to preserve what they have or let Michelle ruin it all. Bring on Touchdown!
Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
These are the next five books in a continuation of the Vegas Series of five short serials. The Quarterback is Jack Dalton, older brother of Luke Dalton, featured in Season 1 of the Vegas Series. Yeah, it's a bit confusing, but you get the point I'm sure. I read these five books all in one day easily.
Once again, five books all but the last one ending on a cliffy. Jack Dalton and Kate Harmon are featured as the main characters this season. Luke and Ellie play a part in this one as well -- just as back-up. I actually enjoyed these five better. Much deeper plotting and more excitement and angst. And a hot quarterback that needed a little comeuppance and Kate handled it just fine. This season is fast-paced with more action on and off the playing field. There's also an ex and a baby boy in the mix that put an extra spin on the game.
Another five satisfying short and quick reads that kept me happy and entertained for several days reading both seasons back to back. Now I'm ready to tackle some crime thrillers that will keep my mind working overtime to solve.
Jack and Kate's relationship up to this point kind of feels like emotional whiplash. They were both obsessed with doing the right thing - Jack staying with Michelle and Kate staying platonic with Jack. But now? Can they really both have exactly what they want?
Jack’s stubbornness is honestly his biggest flaw and the biggest obstacle to their happiness. The connection between him and Kate has always been there, but he keeps convincing himself that obligation should matter more than what he actually feels. It’s incredibly frustrating as a reader, but also painfully human. You want to shake him and say, “Look at what’s right in front of you!” (me. I'm right in front of him)
That moment when things finally seem to fall into place is so satisfying and then having it all ripped away just reinforces one of the core themes of their story: nothing is guaranteed, and happiness can be fragile. It’s brutal because it feels like they’ve already earned their peace, only to be thrown back into uncertainty again.
Kate, though, is such a strong character. I love that she’s not isolated in her pain. Her parents are a steady, grounding presence, and that support system makes her feel real and resilient rather than tragic. And Ellie? She’s such a gift to Kate. That friendship adds warmth, honesty and just the right amount of outside perspective. Her insight helps balance Kate when emotions threaten to take over.
Altogether, it’s that mix of deep love, bad timing, personal growth and emotional support that makes Jack and Kate’s journey so compelling. You can’t help but root for them, no matter how many times life seems determined to knock them back down. Right?
My OG review from May 7, 2022 I REALLY REALLY hate Savannah and Michelle. Like, I thought I hated book characters before. But these two. Oy vey. They are horrible women. I know everything will work out in the end, but my heart can't take much more. Jack does not deserve what these women are doing to him, just like Luke didn't deserve it!
I’ve been complaining about the cliffys but damn this was the worst one of them all.
Lisa gave us the perfect happy book and then she took it all way. How am I supposed to deal? These two omg.
They are so perfect for each other. They found a way to be together and get everything they wanted. And it was glorious for a while. My heart was so happy for them. So much emotion in this one, the honesty, the chemistry. It was an incredible journey.
But then those two crazy b*tches ruined it. Gosh I’ve never wanted karma to hit someone has bad as I want it to bite these two in the a**. I need them to fall and fall hard. God darn it! I hate them. They ruined everything for so many people. I swear if Lisa does not make them pay in this series, I’m gonna be hella mad!
I’m really curious to see how everything is about to go down after that ending! My heart is gonna break, I just know it. But I know Lisa, I know she’ll give these two a happy ending that’s gonna make this wild, emotional journey worth it all.
➳ARC kindly provided by the author, in exchange for an honest review.
Jack and Kate’s story has been full of ups and downs from the very start. There is such a strong connection between the two of them, however, Jack is way too stubborn to see how good they can be for each other.
Finally, I felt like things were finally falling into place for these two and they are both truly getting what they deserved in life….but then I learned that the happiness and joy can be ripped away in an instant and now everything is back where it started with them.
I love Kate and I love that she has her parents that she can lean on for love and support throughout the story. Plus, she also has Ellie, who she has formed a great friendship with. Plus, Ellie can provide plenty of insight when it comes to Jack.
I am DYING for the conclusion of Jack and Kate’s story and I will continue to root for these two to find their happily ever after together.
If you’re looking for a sports romance this is one to check out, but make sure to read the series in order!
Turnover brings this series to the climax of the twists and turns. Of course nothing is close to being resolved and I have absolutely no idea how things will play out. All I can hope for is that two, no make it now four, people get what’s coming to them. I will honestly rub my hands together in glee if that actually happens by the end of this series. But ultimately I just want Jack & Kia to get their happily ever after with little JJ by their side. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. ~Sharon
The angst in this series. I love that Kate and Jack are finally getting their chance to shine and we really get the see the real Jack shine through. Now Michelle and Savannah are vipers, ugh! At the moment I am so mad at the situation! Gah, I need book 5 and I really hope some Karma is coming for Michelle and Savannah both. Jack and Kate need their HEA! ~Cindy
This is almost ridiculous. Of course the drama ramps up. Oh, no! What will they do?? The suspense is terrifying. NOT. Will finish this, but it is laughable.
I felt like the drama in this book had a super simple way to resolve it but ahhhh of course that was too logical? Still loving the story/characters and everything can't wait to see how it ends.
After reaching the end of book three, Timeout I instantly started looking forward to this fourth installment in this series! I picked it up as soon as i could and got right back into this world. I enjoyed this fourth book!
Kate and Jack’s journey continues! After the end of the last book, I wasn’t sure which direction this story was going to go next which had me even more glued to my kindle this time around. I really liked digging deeper with these two characters. Once again, I felt so many things throughout!
With Turnover, Ms.Suzanne has created such a good read that already has me looking forward to more! I can’t wait to find out what happens in the fifth and final installment in this series, Touchdown!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
I hate Michelle. So freaking much. I'm just glad Jack and Luke don't have another brother because you know Michelle and Savannah would find some way to torture him as well.
This book is mostly so good and happy, and then Michelle had to come in and ruin my happy vibes. I can't wait to see how it all ends in Touchdown. I loved getting to spend time with Jack and Kate outside of Vegas. They were so cute and happy in their road trip and with her family. I just wanted them to stay in that bubble forever.
I love that Jack and Luke have a better relationship now because now he has Luke and Ellie in his corner. This is going to get messy before it gets better and I'm so happy they're there for him.
I love Jack and Kate and I'm 1000% ready for their HEA.
Turnover picked right back up where Timeout left off with Kate losing everything she had to that point. She's kicked out of Jack's wedding, his house, and her job so off to Kansas she goes to regroup. Oh by the way, this is Book 4 in this series so YOU MUST READ THEM IN ORDER or else you won't be feeling it like you could. Poor Kate, man she's done everything she could to do what's right & she's the one left holding the bag, and I could certainly feel her pain like it was my own. I really want to tell you more about what is going on, but I'm not going to so you'll have to actually read it to see how things play out, and trust me, you want to know. And now I have to wait until the conclusion to see how it will all play out which will do my head in LOL! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
With this being the penultimate story for Jack and Kate, the surprises and twisty secrets that have yet to be revealed. As much as I liked Luke's story, Jack's story have kept me glued to my-reader, even more so that I usually am. Lisa Suzanne definitely knows how to craft a fantastic story that just when you think all will be right and true for our couple, a ginormous curve ball is aimed right for them and has the serious potential to keep them apart for good. I can't wait to see how things will be resolved for these two when we get the final installment of their tumultuous non-relationship relationship.
A trip to Kansas to visit Kate’s parents is the getaway they both deserve. We get to see a different side of Jack where he is not dealing with the stress of his life while he tries to protect his son, his career and Kate. Unfortunately, real life is about to takeover when they find themselves hurt by people they expected but it is the hurt from the people they didn’t expect that cuts the deepest.
The relationships that they share with their own families and with each others’ families continue to deepen and they will need all the support they can get if they are to overcome the latest blow they have just been dealt.
This series is affecting me emotionally. I feel up and down! I found out whether Jack married the evil Michelle or not, but you have to read the book to find out. My heart keeps going out to Kate. I loved her parents and how much they support her. There are some happy times that I loved, but poor Kate just can’t catch a break. I hated to see that there was more betrayal for her. If you have been reading this series, then you must read this book. Once again, I can’t wait for the next book! I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
OMG if you have been following Jack and Kate’s story you know that they have had obstacles to overcome and feelings to talk about. Well, this author just pulled the rug out from under their feet yet again and this time I don’t think they will be able to come back from this.
This whole series has been a page turner that kept me on the edge of my seat and had my heart soaring and breaking numerous times. I have fallen in love with this series and can’t wait for Touchdown!!
It was over before I knew it. It sucked me in and I can’t wait to see what happens next!!! Just give me 30 seconds with Michelle and then Jack and Kate wouldn’t have any more problems. I loved this one!!!!!

Vegas Aces: The Quarterback series (Season 2) includes: 1. Traded 2. Tackled 3. Timeout 4. Turnover 5. Touchdown
Vegas Aces: The Quarterback is a series of quick reads that revolves around Jack Dalton, new quarterback for the Las Vegas-based Aces pro football team, and school psychologist/nanny/behavior coach Kate Harmon. This series builds on the Dalton family, this time focusing on the league’s hottest quarterback. FROM TRADED, BOOK ONE:
The series opens on Halloween, before the close of Luke and Ellie’s series. Jack had learned that he will become a father just a month ago, and more recently his father passed away. He has been making a series of bad choices since. He makes another bad choice on Halloween – and this one goes viral.
Kathryn Elizabeth Harmon, twenty-five, has a plan. With the Van Astors moving to Hartford, Connecticut, though, her plan hits a snag. She studied psychology at UNLV before taking a job as a school psychologist. It didn’t take her long to realize that in reality, she was utilized mostly as an extra body to help with guidance counselors and paper pushing. Disillusioned, she took the opportunity to become a live-in nanny for the Van Astor family. She quickly learned the financial advantages of living with her employers, and she saw an opportunity to save up while reevaluating her career. Kennedy was in her charge, and the family expanded when Miles was born. Kate fell in love with Miles instantly, learning she had a love of babies. But it was Mrs. Van Astor that really inspired her. Kate has learned a lot watching Mrs. Van Astor run her own interior design firm for the past two years. Now, Kate is attending classes online on a part-time basis. If she keeps it up, she will have earned a second degree, one in interior design, in just eighteen months. With the savings she is accumulating, she hopes to open her own firm. But with the Van Astors suddenly leaving town, Kate needs a new job – and a place to live – fast. Otherwise, she just might end up back in Kansas with her parents and pressured to take over the family diner in her tiny hometown.
Jack Dalton, thirty-three and the star quarterback of the Denver Broncos, has had an eventful year. Blood really is thicker than water as the Dalton family rebuilds following tragedy. After years of mean-spirited competition, Jack and Luke are finally putting the past behind them. As Luke’s happy ending began to take shape, however, Jack’s life seemed to be veering out of control. He finds himself about to become a father after some casual fun with Luke’s manipulative ex-girlfriend, Michelle Bennett. He wants to do the right thing, but he is feeling suffocated. He isn’t quite sure how Luke ever put up with Michelle. The league’s superstar quarterback has long played the field, enjoying his independence and the accolades he’s earned. His talent is unquestionable, but it took years of hard work and dedication to get him where he is today. His ability to command is tangible, both on and off the field. On the field, he is decided and precise. Off the field, he plays hard, but about five months ago he began to get careless. With the birth of his son in December, Jack’s whole world changed. Everything is about Jack Alexander Dalton Junior now, or JJ. But as he finds himself traded in the off-season to the Vegas Aces of all places – Luke’s team – and beholden to Michelle’s father’s good graces, he realizes that his professional career is now on the line. His personal and professional life begin to blur. He is on the edge, and everything is at risk if he doesn’t please Calvin Bennett.
That is when Kate enters Jack’s life – again and again. Fate seems to have a mind of its own and a sense of humor with these two as they are thrown together under the most uncomfortable of circumstances. Calvin hires Kate to be his future son-in-law’s behavior coach and to keep him out of trouble as he joins the Aces’ roster. Little does Calvin know that the pair has a history together, brief as it may be. While that one night might have been par for the course for Jack, for Kate it was a different story. It was supposed to have been a night to help her get past her boyfriend Blake, a way to regain a little self-esteem. Instead, it shredded it to pieces. She might have grown up an Aces fan, but she is no fan of the arrogant and condescending new quarterback.
Jack is an engaged man in this book, betrothed to the mother of his child. Kate and Michelle couldn’t be more different. Michelle is high-strung and always dressed to be seen. Kate is down-to-earth and unpretentious. The contrast is stark. Jack and Kate have an often contentious relationship here, but as their jobs force them to spend time together, they learn that they might not hate one another after all. This book ends with a huge cliffhanger, keeping the reader in suspense. Jack and Kate’s story continues in book two, Tackled. FROM TACKLED, BOOK TWO:
This book opens the morning after Shannon’s bachelorette party, two weeks after Kate began working for Calvin.
The morning after Shannon’s bachelorette party, Kate awakens to find Jack in her bed. Nothing happened, but that doesn’t make it alright. Jack suspects there might be pictures of them dancing together the night before making the rounds on the internet, which would explain Calvin’s calls. Kate panics over the possibility of losing her job, but Jack remains cool and collected. He confesses that his engagement to Michelle has nothing to do with love. He gives a number of reasons for it, but there still seems to be something missing. He quietly confesses to liking Kate – a lot – right before leaving her room. Kate is suspicious of Jack’s motives, though. He has made no secret about not wanting to have a babysitter follow him around. He had promised to behave himself so that she could drink and enjoy her best friend’s bachelorette party, but instead, they ended up in the tabloids.
In a turn Kate doesn’t expect, Jack actually saves her job with Calvin. Their relationship turns a corner here, as Jack begins to open up and let her in. She spends time with him and JJ when Michelle is off in L.A. She sees more of how Jack’s personal life is handicapped as a result of his fame and success. Meanwhile, Jack appreciates Kate’s ability to step up and take charge when needed, or to take a step back if more appropriate. He notices how easy it is to be around her. But there is still a line that cannot be crossed between the two, and Calvin promised not to be forgiving if another misstep occurs. Both Jack and Kate have a lot to lose.
In another step that shows him lowering his walls, Jack takes Kate to Dalton Developments, his real estate development company. He delegates most duties when playing, but in the off-season Jack is hands-on. He moved the offices to Vegas from southern California a few months ago, allowing him to spend more time near JJ. There is apparently a deal in the desert that needs his attention now. Kate finds herself twiddling her thumbs too much, so when Ellie mentions needing help at PCPR, Kate jumps at the opportunity to sit down for an interview. She figures she has enough time on her hands to take on a flexible part-time job.
With Luke’s encouragement, Jack agrees to accompany Kate to Shannon’s wedding at the end of the week, which proves to be a disastrous idea. This book ends in a huge blowout and an emotionally charged cliffhanger as Jack and Kate’s story is about to take a gigantic turn. FROM TIMEOUT, BOOK THREE:
This book opens during Shannon’s wedding reception, after Jack is arrested and taken to jail. It is three weeks after Kate began working for Calvin.
Jack had accompanied Kate to Shannon’s wedding, but the event ended in a disaster that nobody saw coming. A new media scandal arises after Jack is carted off to jail for defending Kate’s honor. Calvin comes down hard on them both, but Jack once again comes to the rescue and saves Kate’s job. Calvin puts them both on notice.
The pair had finally shared a few faint but undeniable moments together, but the tangled web Jack is in brings reality back to light. He intends to marry Michelle. He has come a long way since Kate entered his life; her coaching skills have subtly but surely made their way into his consciousness. He probably wouldn’t need a behavior coach but for his entanglements with Michelle and her father, Calvin. Jack’s intentions may have been in the right place when he proposed to Michelle, but things quickly snowballed out of control. Now he hopes to bite the bullet and marry Michelle for a year before walking away. Kate risks her own job by urging him to look for an alternative solution to his woes, but he doesn’t see a way out. The two trudge forward as his wedding day approaches, but they remain at an impasse. His feelings for Kate are out of the bag, but she won’t be his side piece no matter how attracted to him she really is. She has too much self-respect.
There is a lot of tension in the air as the June wedding draws near. In some ways, Jack and Kate grow closer; in other ways, they drift apart. Kate learns more about Jack and his relationship with Michelle. When they travel to his old home in Denver, she gets to see a little bit of who he was before Michelle stormed into his life. Kate has definitely entered Jack’s precious inner circle, but the closer they get, the more confusing things are between the pair. Kate faces her guilt for what happened at Shannon’s wedding and begins to feel a bit ungrounded by the change in her life. She keeps busy working for Ellie, and Jack gets hyper-focused on his real estate business. The more Kate thinks about Jack’s happiness, the more she begins to wonder if her presence is a good thing for him or not. And she herself doesn’t want a broken heart. Jack has made his choices, although those choices are all about what others want from him. He doesn’t feel that he has the freedom to choose for his own happiness. He simply cannot afford it. The book comes to a much-anticipated but shocking turn of events that will leave you breathless in anticipation of book four. IN THIS BOOK:
This book opens just before Jack is scheduled to walk down the aisle and say his vows to Michelle. It is about nine weeks after Kate began working for Calvin.
Jack had struggled personally in the lead-up to his wedding. He went hot and cold, but mostly silent as he tried to come to grips with his decision to move forward with the wedding despite his longing for Kate. Kate had found herself increasingly alone as she took the blame from Shannon and Kevin for Vince’s behavior at their wedding and the fallout that resulted from it. Without a best friend, and with Jack shutting her out, she felt very isolated. Her new friendship with her new boss Ellie was perhaps the only good thing she had going for her. It all ended in an epic kiss moments before he walked down the aisle, and Calvin Bennett witnessed it. Kate is left without a job and without Jack as she leaves the wedding to pack up her things; she heads to the Wynn for the night to consider her options. With no place to go, returning home to visit her parents in Kansas and regroup is her only good option.
Ellie calls but doesn’t have much information herself. Apparently, the guests were sent home, too. Rumors about cameras and private ceremonies were in circulation, but there were no concrete facts. But things take an unexpected turn when Jack knocks at the door of Kate’s hotel room, and he has a proposition.
This story takes an unexpected whimsical twist as Jack and Kate escape the media mayhem together and head to Kansas for some time to decompress. But there are still so many unresolved problems, and hiding away only delays the inevitable. Kate’s parents come into the story, and so much more is learned about her here as a result. As she faces her past and sorts out what can be salvaged of her future, it is no longer just about Jack. It is about her. And just like Jack has choices, she discovers that she has choices, too. Their story ends in yet another devastating twist that you won’t see coming. Their story concludes in book five, Touchdown.
Wow! Jack and Kate try to ignore their insane chemistry, but it isn’t always easy. Their ups and downs gradually bring them closer together. This book is clouded by the chaos they leave behind in Vegas and the struggle that they will inevitably face upon their return. It is the calm before the final storm. Both Jack and Kate become increasingly aware of their feelings for one another, but is that enough? This book is about the simple and uncomplicated life in Kansas juxtaposed to the bright lights and party lifestyle of Vegas. There are some sweet and tender moments, but also moments of reflection and despair. Jack and Kate’s story has been building, and this segment will have you cheering the couple on.
I enjoy the idea that Jack’s story is somewhat familiar. It is a different Dalton story, but the same horrible woman is still in the picture due to a baby. Both brothers felt pressured to please Calvin, the owner, due to a relationship with his daughter, Michelle. The Dalton family is the same, but the dynamics feel entirely different following their loss. They have moved forward. And of course, the brothers are mending their relationship. Luke was more of an introvert, which isn’t really the case with Jack. So in that way things differ. Ellie and Kate both end up having a one-night stand of sorts with their man prior to living and working for/with them. Each obviously must deal with the idea of her man having a child with another woman. Luke turned out not to be the father of Michelle’s baby, so for him and Ellie life returned to normal. Here Jack must forge some kind of relationship with Michelle in order to do what is best for his son, JJ, and also ensure that Calvin doesn’t purposely tank his career. That complicates things for him and Kate right from the start.
Reading about Jack getting sucked into the drama with Michelle, Calvin, and the Aces feels like a seamless transition. Michelle is a pill! I was indeed anxious to see how she would come across in this new series and how Jack and Michelle would work out as a couple. It seemed hopeless. The idea of totally transforming Michelle wouldn’t have been credible. I like what was done here, though. It is much more believable and very realistic – maybe aside from the whole one-night stand turning into a live-in babysitter job part! That part, however, is a lot of fun so it works well.
Jack and Kate’s forbidden romance continues with more angsty twists and turns, ending in an emotionally charged cliffhanger! There is plenty of chemistry as the tension builds between the pair. This book comes across as more whimsical, as both Jack and Kate escape their problems in the safety of a small town. Normally very controlled, Jack has thrown his carefully laid plans to the wind, but the future remains uncertain. Kate knows from the outset that any attachment to him will only end with a broken heart. Their story will have a few more crazy surprises along the way. The story is nicely written. The plot is somewhat complex. The characters are carefully crafted and real. It is written in first person from Kate’s POV. I rate this book 4.5 stars.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another great book by Lisa SuzanneAmazon
What can I say? Little did I know going into this book, It would continue to be an emotional rollercoaster of emotions. I got my questions anwered, got some blissfully happy moments, fell more in Love with Jack, then right back to the emotional rollercoaster. I really loved this book & it may be one of my favorites. My heart continues to break for Jack. The poor guy can't catch a break. I also feel for Kate as well. It's officially been a week since I finished this and it's been so hard to wait for the final book. Turnover had some really amazing moments & made me add more quailties I want in guy to my never ending list! It was special & the best thing ever to see Jack truly relaxed, happy and having fun! Thinking back to my favorite part, still makes me swoon & melts my heart! Kate is truly so good for him in so many ways and he's good for her too! I adore them so much! Do yourselves a favor & go one click this series! It's beyond addictive and amazing! I can't wait for the final book! #ILoveJackDalton #JD5andKia #Turnover #MeantToBe
Well this was juicy! Jack finally comes to his senses and realizes that he has better choices...so he thinks. After spending weeks with Kate he can't really fight the feelings has for her. By that same token it feels like a hopeless situation.
Kate is head over heels in love with Jack and her heart slowly breaks as he chooses to marry another woman. Despite the crazy connection between them he vows to stick to the plan. When the reality of his actions hits him in the face, and he sees the pain he is causing Kate he chooses them...Him and Kate.
They are in bliss for a little over a week until they are forced to face their reality. They head back to Vegas and the drama ensues. Kate faces yet another betrayal with her fake friends sell her out, even after Jack was so accommodating. Shameful. They are wrapped up in yet another tough situation.
Will they choose to weather the storm together or separate and let the evil witch win? Can't wait to see how it shakes out.
It's the wedding of the season, or so it is how they are talking it up. At least, Michelle is. Entirely for, the wives of football players' TV show she, so wants to be on.
Jack is miserable just having to be anywhere around her or anything to do with the wedding. Working at his office on the strip is better all around for him and Kate.
But now it's the day of the wedding and both his and Kate's nerves, feeling, and patients are raw. They have talked out the options, Jack has in every way possible but he still feels marrying Michelle is it. The event of the wedding is not what anyone expects to happen.
Not even what happens thereafter. I enjoyed this book a lot seeing still another aspect of Jack’s persona. Let me just say I hope, Savannah and Michelle get what’s coming to them. Betrayal is brutal and cuts deep.
I absolutely love the story. Kate and Jack are amazing. But as much as I love the story I hate the format. It’s like the author is selling a chapter at a time. And I know other authors including this one have a series of books but this isn’t even a series. When I can read it in an hour and a half it is not a book. I give the Story a rating of 5 and the author a rating of 1.All she’s out for is money. Just write the book and ask for a fair price instead of gouging us. I will finish this “series” because I truly want to know what the ending is, but I will never buy another book from this author unless it is a full book! There are too many other honest excellent authors out there to be read.
Turnover is book 4 in the Vegas Aces QB series and must be read in order as each book hangover picks up from the end of the prior book. We go into this not knowing how this will play out and then here goes the Wicked Witch (you know who this is) and drops a house down in Kansas on our hearts. WTH! Can someone throw a fumble at them please? JD5 has been Traded, Kia has been Tackled, they are both on a Timeout and now they get a Turnover in the next play or do they? Can they score that Touchdown JD5 needs including Kia or is it game over? Guess we will have to wait and see! As I have said in my prior reviews, I highly recommend this series and really any series by this author. I say grab this series and veg out with a cozy blanket and read this series you will not regret
[3.5 Stars] A decent read and (in my opinion) better than the books with Luke and Ellie. I have the same gripe with these books as I did with Luke's and Ellie's: I’m glad all of the books are on Kindle Unlimited because I would be pretty upset to buy a series of books that are 120-175 pages each when they could have combined them into 2 or 3 books and be done with it. The story is full of angst, tension, and sweet moments, and there’s nothing cringe-worthy in terms of dialogue or the character’s actions. Kate had a lot of integrity and backbone, and Jack had a great character arc. I wish we had more character development, and I didn't connect with the characters as I have with other books.
Holy moly! Whatever you do, don't ask me what I think of Savannah and Michelle....grrr! I loved this installment of Jack and Kate's journey. At first I felt like the whole premise happened so fast, but in retrospect, I realized that reading these installments a couple of weeks apart made me forget how they initially met and what they've already been through. Jack's interaction with Kate's parents was priceless and made me like him even more. Ms. Suzanne, you have certainly redeemed him in my eyes! I can't wait for the finale and I have a feeling it'll probably blow our minds!
This is the fourth book on the series and on Jack and Kate’s story. All I can say THANK YOU YES JACK FINALLY! Finally we get to see a different side of Jack one where he gives us more of him opening up way more freaking at last. If you have been following them you know that oh boy this author definitely gets you with the cliffhangers oh boy you end up eager to get your hands on the next book which I am waiting for ( grabby hands ). So far this book is my favorite. So exited I received an ARC to it goodness this author just gets better and better. In love..
I wish to revise my previous review, she left an even bigger cliffhanger in this book. Lisa manages to continually one-up her previous cliffhangers with even larger ones. You really do think you know where the books are going when you read a lot, yet somehow things manage to turn out differently.
Storyline is top notch. Easy to binge, hard to put down. You feel so many emotions as you read. I love/hate watching things go the way they do. I’m seeing a long night in my future because I need closure.
They finally confess how they feel, they finally look like they are going to get their HEA when Kate is betrayed is the worst way possible by someone she thought was her best friend.
What choice will they make? You know what I have no clue but I am so glad there is only one book left cause I can’t take the pressure much longer. Now I know why I usually don’t do a series like this.
Well I’m off to read bk 5, the last one and I sure hope it all works out.
