As Jack’s wedding draws nearer, the cloud over him seems to darken as he goes through the motions. Instead of enjoying the bachelor party and rehearsal dinner, he needs a timeout from the woman he’s set to marry.

If he really walks down the aisle toward her, I can’t keep working with him. Not when I’m in love with him. My boss didn’t hire me to help this pro football quarterback make better decisions. He hired me to make sure Jack marries his daughter.

And as the day of the wedding dawns, my one job responsibility is one of the most morally conflicting things I’ve ever had to do.

TIMEOUT is the third book in the VEGAS THE QUARTERBACK series. This series must be read in order.

This is the point of the story where not a ton is happening, but you absolutely need it to push the story further. I devoured this one and I cannot wait for the next part. I love how Timeout really builds this relationship between Ellie and Kate, I love their interactions and love how Ellie just accepts Kate into the fold right away. I absolutely hate Calvin, but, of course, we're supposed to. And, Jack? Oh Jack... I just wanna punch him and hug him and tell him it'll all workout all at the same time. I don't know how it's going to work out, but it will and I can't wait to see him get there.

Timeout is fun and super fast paced and I am so ready for Turnover.

Timeout is the third book in the Vegas Aces: The Quarterback and the best book to date. We pick up right where book two ended. Will Kate get to Jack’s Lawyer and keep him out of the headlines and handcuffs?

Jack wiggles his way out of another mess, but will Kate’s job be safe? Jack is growing on me. His growth and priorities are changing. His decisions, not so much. The cliff on this book has me counting the hours for book four, Turnover. It is getting real, have Jack and Kate caught feelings?

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Season 2 -- The Quarterback

These are the next five books in a continuation of the Vegas Series of five short serials. The Quarterback is Jack Dalton, older brother of Luke Dalton, featured in Season 1 of the Vegas Series. Yeah, it's a bit confusing, but you get the point I'm sure. I read these five books all in one day easily.

Once again, five books all but the last one ending on a cliffy. Jack Dalton and Kate Harmon are featured as the main characters this season. Luke and Ellie play a part in this one as well -- just as back-up. I actually enjoyed these five better. Much deeper plotting and more excitement and angst. And a hot quarterback that needed a little comeuppance and Kate handled it just fine. This season is fast-paced with more action on and off the playing field. There's also an ex and a baby boy in the mix that put an extra spin on the game.

Another five satisfying short and quick reads that kept me happy and entertained for several days reading both seasons back to back. Now I'm ready to tackle some crime thrillers that will keep my mind working overtime to solve.

Ahh!! The chemistry just continues to develop between Jack and Kate in Timeout - BUT Jack still thinks the "right" thing to do is to continue with his plan to marry Michelle (who really is just not a good person, lol). Yet, you can see the feelings that he has for Kate. He truly cares for her, and we all know that she is in love with him. And they keep putting themselves in situations where ultimately lines will get crossed - as well as put Kate's job in jeopardy.

Of course we have yet another cliffy, and I wish I could say what happened I didn't see coming, but I kind of had a feeling it was going to happen. I'm definitely on pins and needles over here waiting for Turnover to hit my kindle, because I just love Jack and Kate and need to know what happens next!

I am so Hooked on this Series!!

Jack and Kate are still trying to deal with the feelings that have been growing between them all the while Jack feels trapped and must go ahead with his marriage to Michelle. I love that no matter what is going on he is always putting his son, JJ first.

Jack has had a couple of stumbles along the way which may cost Kate her job but its Jack who sticks up for her to continue on with the job she has been given. I just know that there is more going on behind the scenes with Colin as well and just who was he talking to on that phone call!!

Let’s just say that the ending of this book left us in another dilemma that left me with my mouth hanging open yet again.

The most angstiest book yet! Omg the emotions in this one😩 These two are killing me omg.

Jack whyyyy. I can’t believe how hard I’ve actually fallen for him. I just wish he would see that there is a better solution out there for his problems!! Makes me so mad that he still wants to go through with the wedding but then I think of how he’s doing it for his baby and it makes me melt.

I think this was also the worst ending yet. Ughhh. Like I wanna say I know what he’ll do but I actually don’t know at all. It can honestly go either way but I feel like Lisa is about to throw a major twist in their way, which will be good in a way and then bad in so many others. I need answersssss. Give me the next book omg.

I’m really enjoyed these two’s story! So much drama, so much angst. Their relationship is all kinds of fun, sweet and so damn filled with sexual tension. Cannot wait for more of them! And to see what actually happens next.

After having read Traded and Tackled back to back I instantly started looking forward to this third installment! I picked this one up as soon as i could and got right back into this world. I finished it in one sitting. I enjoyed this third book!

Kate and Jack’s journey continues! Once again these two had me going through so many emotions throughout reading! I wasn’t sure what all was going to happen this time around and I loved getting pulled more and more into their story.

With Timeout, Ms.Suzanne has created such a good read! I’m still thinking about this book! I can’t wait to find out what happens next in the fourth installment, Turnover!

In this third book of the Vegas Aces The Quarterback series, Lisa has us once again sitting on the edge of our seat. The tension and chemistry that is between Jack and Kate is off the charts.

Through out this whole book Jack is still being a jerk to Kate. He acts like he wants her but then turns his back on her. I just wanted to reach through the pages and wring his neck. He takes a hit for Kate with Calvin but is still marrying Michelle. Can she stand by him as he makes the biggest mistake of his life? Will either one of them say how they feel about each other? What will Jack do when he asks her if he is doing the right thing?

Since there is 5 books in this series, it does end with a cliffhanger. Lisa ends it with the Kate running out of the church, Jack following and Calvin standing there. What will Jack do? Does Kate still have a job?

ABOUT THE VEGAS ACES, SEASON 2:

Vegas Aces: The Quarterback series (Season 2) includes:
1. Traded
2. Tackled
3. Timeout
4. Turnover
5. Touchdown

Vegas Aces: The Quarterback is a series of quick reads that revolves around Jack Dalton, new quarterback for the Las Vegas-based Aces pro football team, and school psychologist/nanny/behavior coach Kate Harmon. This series builds on the Dalton family, this time focusing on the league’s hottest quarterback.

FROM TRADED, BOOK ONE:

The series opens on Halloween, before the close of Luke and Ellie’s series. Jack had learned that he will become a father just a month ago, and more recently his father passed away. He has been making a series of bad choices since. He makes another bad choice on Halloween – and this one goes viral.

Kathryn Elizabeth Harmon, twenty-five, has a plan. With the Van Astors moving to Hartford, Connecticut, though, her plan hits a snag. She studied psychology at UNLV before taking a job as a school psychologist. It didn’t take her long to realize that in reality, she was utilized mostly as an extra body to help with guidance counselors and paper pushing. Disillusioned, she took the opportunity to become a live-in nanny for the Van Astor family. She quickly learned the financial advantages of living with her employers, and she saw an opportunity to save up while reevaluating her career. Kennedy was in her charge, and the family expanded when Miles was born. Kate fell in love with Miles instantly, learning she had a love of babies. But it was Mrs. Van Astor that really inspired her. Kate has learned a lot watching Mrs. Van Astor run her own interior design firm for the past two years. Now, Kate is attending classes online on a part-time basis. If she keeps it up, she will have earned a second degree, one in interior design, in just eighteen months. With the savings she is accumulating, she hopes to open her own firm. But with the Van Astors suddenly leaving town, Kate needs a new job – and a place to live – fast. Otherwise, she just might end up back in Kansas with her parents and pressured to take over the family diner in her tiny hometown.

Jack Dalton, thirty-three and the star quarterback of the Denver Broncos, has had an eventful year. Blood really is thicker than water as the Dalton family rebuilds following tragedy. After years of mean-spirited competition, Jack and Luke are finally putting the past behind them. As Luke’s happy ending began to take shape, however, Jack’s life seemed to be veering out of control. He finds himself about to become a father after some casual fun with Luke’s manipulative ex-girlfriend, Michelle Bennett. He wants to do the right thing, but he is feeling suffocated. He isn’t quite sure how Luke ever put up with Michelle. The league’s superstar quarterback has long played the field, enjoying his independence and the accolades he’s earned. His talent is unquestionable, but it took years of hard work and dedication to get him where he is today. His ability to command is tangible, both on and off the field. On the field, he is decided and precise. Off the field, he plays hard, but about five months ago he began to get careless. With the birth of his son in December, Jack’s whole world changed. Everything is about Jack Alexander Dalton Junior now, or JJ. But as he finds himself traded in the off-season to the Vegas Aces of all places – Luke’s team – and beholden to Michelle’s father’s good graces, he realizes that his professional career is now on the line. His personal and professional life begin to blur. He is on the edge, and everything is at risk if he doesn’t please Calvin Bennett.

That is when Kate enters Jack’s life – again and again. Fate seems to have a mind of its own and a sense of humor with these two as they are thrown together under the most uncomfortable of circumstances. Calvin hires Kate to be his future son-in-law’s behavior coach and to keep him out of trouble as he joins the Aces’ roster. Little does Calvin know that the pair has a history together, brief as it may be. While that one night might have been par for the course for Jack, for Kate it was a different story. It was supposed to have been a night to help her get past her boyfriend Blake, a way to regain a little self-esteem. Instead, it shredded it to pieces. She might have grown up an Aces fan, but she is no fan of the arrogant and condescending new quarterback.

Jack is an engaged man in this book, betrothed to the mother of his child. Kate and Michelle couldn’t be more different. Michelle is high-strung and always dressed to be seen. Kate is down-to-earth and unpretentious. The contrast is stark. Jack and Kate have an often contentious relationship here, but as their jobs force them to spend time together, they learn that they might not hate one another after all. This book ends with a huge cliffhanger, keeping the reader in suspense. Jack and Kate’s story continues in book two, Tackled.

FROM TACKLED, BOOK TWO:

This book opens the morning after Shannon’s bachelorette party, two weeks after Kate began working for Calvin.

The morning after Shannon’s bachelorette party, Kate awakens to find Jack in her bed. Nothing happened, but that doesn’t make it alright. Jack suspects there might be pictures of them dancing together the night before making the rounds on the internet, which would explain Calvin’s calls. Kate panics over the possibility of losing her job, but Jack remains cool and collected. He confesses that his engagement to Michelle has nothing to do with love. He gives a number of reasons for it, but there still seems to be something missing. He quietly confesses to liking Kate – a lot – right before leaving her room. Kate is suspicious of Jack’s motives, though. He has made no secret about not wanting to have a babysitter follow him around. He had promised to behave himself so that she could drink and enjoy her best friend’s bachelorette party, but instead, they ended up in the tabloids.

In a turn Kate doesn’t expect, Jack actually saves her job with Calvin. Their relationship turns a corner here, as Jack begins to open up and let her in. She spends time with him and JJ when Michelle is off in L.A. She sees more of how Jack’s personal life is handicapped as a result of his fame and success. Meanwhile, Jack appreciates Kate’s ability to step up and take charge when needed, or to take a step back if more appropriate. He notices how easy it is to be around her. But there is still a line that cannot be crossed between the two, and Calvin promised not to be forgiving if another misstep occurs. Both Jack and Kate have a lot to lose.

In another step that shows him lowering his walls, Jack takes Kate to Dalton Developments, his real estate development company. He delegates most duties when playing, but in the off-season Jack is hands-on. He moved the offices to Vegas from southern California a few months ago, allowing him to spend more time near JJ. There is apparently a deal in the desert that needs his attention now. Kate finds herself twiddling her thumbs too much, so when Ellie mentions needing help at PCPR, Kate jumps at the opportunity to sit down for an interview. She figures she has enough time on her hands to take on a flexible part-time job.

With Luke’s encouragement, Jack agrees to accompany Kate to Shannon’s wedding at the end of the week, which proves to be a disastrous idea. This book ends in a huge blowout and an emotionally charged cliffhanger as Jack and Kate’s story is about to take a gigantic turn.

IN TIMEOUT, BOOK THREE:

This book opens during Shannon’s wedding reception, after Jack is arrested and taken to jail. It is three weeks after Kate began working for Calvin.

Jack had accompanied Kate to Shannon’s wedding, but the event ended in a disaster that nobody saw coming. A new media scandal arises after Jack is carted off to jail for defending Kate’s honor. Calvin comes down hard on them both, but Jack once again comes to the rescue and saves Kate’s job. Calvin puts them both on notice.

The pair had finally shared a few faint but undeniable moments together, but the tangled web Jack is in brings reality back to light. He intends to marry Michelle. He has come a long way since Kate entered his life; her coaching skills have subtly but surely made their way into his consciousness. He probably wouldn’t need a behavior coach but for his entanglements with Michelle and her father, Calvin. Jack’s intentions may have been in the right place when he proposed to Michelle, but things quickly snowballed out of control. Now he hopes to bite the bullet and marry Michelle for a year before walking away. Kate risks her own job by urging him to look for an alternative solution to his woes, but he doesn’t see a way out. The two trudge forward as his wedding day approaches, but they remain at an impasse. His feelings for Kate are out of the bag, but she won’t be his side piece no matter how attracted to him she really is. She has too much self-respect.

There is a lot of tension in the air as the June wedding draws near. In some ways, Jack and Kate grow closer; in other ways, they drift apart. Kate learns more about Jack and his relationship with Michelle. When they travel to his old home in Denver, she gets to see a little bit of who he was before Michelle stormed into his life. Kate has definitely entered Jack’s precious inner circle, but the closer they get, the more confusing things are between the pair. Kate faces her guilt for what happened at Shannon’s wedding and begins to feel a bit ungrounded by the change in her life. She keeps busy working for Ellie, and Jack gets hyper-focused on his real estate business. The more Kate thinks about Jack’s happiness, the more she begins to wonder if her presence is a good thing for him or not. And she herself doesn’t want a broken heart. Jack has made his choices, although those choices are all about what others want from him. He doesn’t feel that he has the freedom to choose for his own happiness. He simply cannot afford it. The book comes to a much-anticipated but shocking turn of events that will leave you breathless in anticipation of book four.

Wow! Jack and Kate try to ignore their insane chemistry, but it isn’t always easy. Their ups and downs gradually bring them closer together. This book is clouded by Jack’s approaching nuptials. It is the calm before the storm. Both Jack and Kate become increasingly aware of the cost to their own hearts if Jack goes through with the wedding. There are parties and good times, and crises that bring them closer together. There are some sweet and tender moments, but also a lot of loneliness and despair. Jack and Kate’s story has been building, and this segment will have you cheering the couple on.

I enjoy the idea that Jack’s story is somewhat familiar. It is a different Dalton story, but the same horrible woman is still in the picture due to a baby. Both brothers felt pressured to please Calvin, the owner, due to a relationship with his daughter, Michelle. The Dalton family is the same, but the dynamics feel entirely different following their loss. They have moved forward. And of course, the brothers are mending their relationship. Luke was more of an introvert, which isn’t really the case with Jack. So in that way things differ. Ellie and Kate both end up having a one-night stand of sorts with their man prior to living and working for/with them. Each obviously must deal with the idea of her man having a child with another woman. Luke turned out not to be the father of Michelle’s baby, so for him and Ellie life returned to normal. Here Jack must forge some kind of relationship with Michelle in order to do what is best for his son, JJ, and also ensure that Calvin doesn’t purposely tank his career. That complicates things for him and Kate right from the start.

Reading about Jack getting sucked into the drama with Michelle, Calvin, and the Aces feels like a seamless transition. Michelle is a pill! I was indeed anxious to see how she would come across in this new series and how Jack and Michelle would work out as a couple. It seemed hopeless. The idea of totally transforming Michelle wouldn’t have been credible. I like what was done here, though. It is much more believable and very realistic – maybe aside from the whole one-night stand turning into a live-in babysitter job part! That part, however, is a lot of fun so it works well.

Jack and Kate’s forbidden romance continues with more angsty twists and turns, ending in an emotionally charged cliffhanger! There is plenty of chemistry as the tension builds between the pair. This book comes across as more serious, as both Jack and Kate become pensive. Normally very controlled, Jack is a bit unpredictable after a series of poor decisions. He is also engaged to Michelle. Kate knows from the outset that any attachment to him will only end with a broken heart. Their story will have a few more crazy surprises along the way. The story is nicely written. The plot is somewhat complex. The characters are carefully crafted and real. It is written in first person from Kate’s POV. I rate this book 4.5 stars.

This book was so heart wrenching for me. I have been turned to where I really like Jack even though he is a stubborn man. He still thinks he is doing the right thing by marrying that witch Michelle. She is so self centered and is always asking Jack should she call her daddy—in other words threatening him with his boss to get her way. Kate and Jack grow closer until a week before his wedding. Will he go through with it? I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens! I strongly encourage you to read the book, especially if you started this series. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Re-reading my old review, and I STILL can't believe I wasted all that time hating jack. He is such a frustratingly realistic character. His commitment to doing the “right” thing, even when it’s clearly the wrong emotional choice, makes the slow burn with Kate almost painful in the best way. You can see how deeply he cares for her, even when he’s trying to convince himself (and everyone else) that Michelle is the logical path forward. And yeah… Michelle being not great just sharpens that contrast even more.

Kate, though? Her position is brutal. She’s in love, she’s trying to stay professional, and yet Jack keeps pulling her into moments where feelings are impossible to ignore. Every shared scene feels like it’s daring fate to intervene, and the fact that her job is constantly on the line adds this extra layer of anxiety that makes the chemistry feel dangerous, not just romantic.

And that cliffhanger. Even when you suspect what’s coming, it still lands hard because of the emotional buildup. It’s the kind of ending that makes you immediately check your Kindle or bookshelf for the next book - and I'm so glad all of these books were already out, so I could read them back-to-back-t0-back.

Even tho Jack REALLY belongs with me, Jack and Kate have that “you know they belong together, but the universe is being rude about it” energy, and it’s impossible not to root for them. That is, unless, you are rooting for him to be with me, which would also be acceptable.

My OG review from May 6, 2022
I can't believe I've wasted time hating Jack Dalton. But honestly, Kate is so in the right here. I'd be doing all the same things she's doing. With Jack and Michelle's wedding looming, what more CAN Kate do but sit back and push Jack away? Shit hit the fan, tho, here at the end. Things are falling all the way apart to come back together later.

I’ve started giving all authors who can’t write a complete novel one star. For one, they shouldn’t call it a book, but a part of a book. There is nothing worse than trying to relax with a novel, only to realize you are only getting a part of a story. I know I’m going to get bashed for leaving this comment, but authors need to to realize……would they enjoy just watching part of a movie to relax? Absolutely NOT! So whether I think they’re a great author or not, if I don’t get a full novel, they don’t get all the stars.

I am so in trouble, I just can't get enough of Jack and Kate.

This is the third book in tis series and I am totally hooked!!
Kate works so hard to fight her feelings, but the more time she spends around Jack the harder it is.
Jack is one stubborn Man, he's still on a path that will bring him no happiness, but keeping Kate out is also something he's battling with along side everything else. You just can't help but love him all the more as you get to know him. A man locked in to losing so many choices in life and determined to do the right thing at the expense of his own happiness.
Things happen and occur that would definitely result in Kate losing her job but its also Jack that fights for her to remain.
Now it's all come to a crucial time, will he really marry a woman who cares for nothing and no one but herself because of his sense of duty?
Seriously my heart is broken into sections for both Jack and Kate!!! My hearts screaming Don't do it!" and my heads in tatters, I'm a nervous wreck!!
Again this author totally owns your emotions and your heart, there is so much Love in this book,, but also bucket loads of heartache!!!
I desperately need to know what happens next, as yet again Lisa Suzanne leaves us on a cliff edge that has you gasping !!!

Books 1 & 2 ARE ALREADY AVAILABLE so you can easily devour them now ready for this release !!

Jack Dalton is honorable if anything else, he is stuck with a woman he can't stand and she has him on a short leash. Just as he starts to make a few strides away from her, she yanks the leash and pulls him back in and has him right where she wants him. All the while Kate stands by helplessly because she can see what is being done to Jack and she has tried to help but he doesn't seem to want it or can't see any other way around the problem. It's pure torture to care for a man that doesn't belong to you...

Timeout brings us back into the lives of Jack and Kate, and we see that they are once again at a crossroads. It's evident to each of them that they could have something special, but Jack has gotten himself tangled up in Michelle's web and can't find his way out. It's an impossible situation for both of them. As his wedding date to Michelle looms Kate is beside herself with worry that he'll go through with it and she'll never have the chance she's been dreaming about. They've got me teetering on the edge... I'm dying to see how it all ends!! I cannot wait to see where the next installment takes us after that jaw-dropping cliffhanger. I really hope there is some happiness lying ahead for these two, they have been through so much, and deserve a little happy!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

5 emotional stars!

Timeout was the most emotional book yet of the series. Jack and Kate both have finally succumbed to the realization that they have feelings for each other, but that doesn't mean that stubborn Jack will end all of his plans to be with her. His thick skull still thinks the right thing to do is marry Michelle.

The people that surround Jack are the worst. Calvin is a horrible boss and business man, mixing way too much business with pleasure, and it's clear to see the apple didn't fall far from the tree with Michelle.

But when Kia comes into Jack's life, he sees that there are good people out there. People who he can trust. People who truly care about his best interests and what he wants. And that makes the foundation crumble on all of his plans. It's still the right thing to do to marry Michelle, right?

Jack and Kate go through the wringer on this one. Will a Dalton finally marry Michelle? Will Kate be enough for Jack to realize he can't do it? Of course we're left with another brutal cliffhanger on the ending, but just a few weeks until we get the answers! I am eager to see what Jack decides. It's absolutely amazing how Lisa made me hate him in one series, and love him in another!

One-click this one and then go get the next (if it's out). What are you waiting for?

As always, YMMV.

Lisa Suzanne's Timeout is book 3 in the 5 book Vegas Aces- The Quarterback series.  After the cliffy in book 2, Kate finds herself sitting on an ever expanding powderkeg of explosives and its name is Jack Dalton!! The events that unfolded at Kate's bestie's wedding landed Jack in jail and them both on the #### list. He's spiraling down, making bad decisions the closer it gets to his approaching wedding to that evil, self serving, manipulative woman he's stuck marrying. Kate is stuck too- with big feelings for a man she can only dream about, but never have. Will Jack come to his senses before its too late for them?

Ok, I'm now officially hooked and in Jack Dalton's corner now!!  His ego is bigger than a football stadium sometimes, but seeing him so vulnerable, ziptied to a commitment that no longer works for him, is making me want to cry for his hopeless situation!! Kate has come to mean so much more to him but what can be done about it now??? He is trapped but good!

If all of that wasn't enough, this latest cliffie is is KILLING me!  How long must I wait, Lisa Suzanne, you wildly evil woman???  Must know what happens to Jack and Kate as soon as humanly possible..omg!  I was very fortunate to be a recipient of an early copy of Timeout and this is my honest review of it.

Holy hotness, the intensity of the attraction between Jack and Kate keeps getter hotter and hotter. As they spend more and more time together, Jack and Kate continue to fight the chemistry between them. Knowing she can never have him, Kate let’s all her feelings known to Jack. And in true Jack fashion, he feels he has no choice but to marry a woman he doesn’t love.
Kate continues to do the right thing and tries to keep the heat between her and Jack at bay. She does this no matter how much she wants him.
As Kate continues to try to push Jack away, he becomes more and more moodier as his upcoming wedding approaches. He trapped, or so he thinks. The choice is his, even though he doesn’t think so.
Lisa has written a story full of undeniable chemistry and the inability to have that person who makes you spontaneously combust. Timeout is book three in the Vegas Aces, The Quarterback Series. This series must be read in order. I highly recommend this series but if you are not a fan of cliffhangers, I suggest you wait for the real ease of the fifth and final book, Touchdown. With that being said, this series is a must read whether you read each book as they’re released or you wait until the final book is published.

Hold up! Wait a minute! TIMEOUT! Like NOW! Can you at least punt us the TURNOVER (outcome) like now instead of next month? Holy smokes, we all know it will end in a little cliffhanger to leave us hanging until the next book in the series comes out, but not what I expected. Michelle maybe? Decision overturned maybe? This is going to be good, I mean it is by far a five star read already, but this is either going to make or break us more than Jack and Kate. HaHa.
Let me backup a bit cause I was so excited about that ending that I forgot to mention that this is book three in the Vegas Aces: The Quarterback series and as you will see you need to read each of them in order to continue on in the series. My suggestion is to binge them all at once. They are that good. Then again this author always keeps us hooked, throws us for a loop and then has us loving and wanting more on any set of characters she writes.
JD5 and Kia make a good team in many ways, there are complications that prevent them from exploring more, but in the end we hope that Jack can succeed in the end goal. I highly recommend this read if you love sports romance.

Lisa Suzanne's Timeout is the 3rd book in the Vegas Aces: The Quarterback Series. If you are not aware: this series must be read in order, it is NOT a Standalone. Book 2 left us with a wild cliffhanger and a serious need to read this one. It did not disappoint. This book picks up where Jack was arrested at Kate's Best Friend's wedding and takes us to another cliffhanger at the church just before Jack's BIG Marriage Mistake.

This book continues Jack and Kate's journey and continued loved story. They travel to Denver to pack up his house there and have a goodbye party with Jack's former teammates. They continue to get closer as Jack gets closer and closer to marrying Michelle. You will enjoy the continuation and will want to read the next part of the series but not as much as book 2 did.

I am new to Ms. Suzanne. This series is my first exposure to her work and I must say I have enjoyed it thoroughly. My only complaint is the short serial books and waiting to continue the saga. I would much rather one big book with it all together as one. Otherwise, I like the story and the well developed characters and I will definitely read more of her works.

Is love enough!

Jack digs himself into a deeper hole. He believes that the only way to stay in his sons life and to get back on track financially is to marry a woman he doesn't love. Michelle, his fiancee is a non factor most of the time because she is never home and they don't like each other, and love isn't even a close option. She had no bond with their son and only desires to control Jack.
As Kate and Jack grow closer, Jack acts out trying to defend her. He grows more and more dependent on their connection and you can tell his feelings are strong. Kate feels the pull too, and she is constantly telling him he has a choice. Jack feels like he doesn't have one though, that his life is hanging on by a thread and the sham marriage is a step to fixing his mess of a life.
Kate is head over heels in love with Jack. She loves the way he loves his son, his love for football, and his passion for building. He is thoughtful towards her and they spend many days getting to know each other. As the wedding draws near their relationship is strained because although they are in love it doesn't seen to be enough.

Review of Timeout (Vegas Aces: The Quarterback Book 3 of 5) by Lisa Suzanne

This is the third book in a new five book series. So you need to pick up the first two books first, and ideally the Vegas Aces five book series as this introduces a lot of the characters in the book. Plus it was an amazing read so you don't want to miss it!

This book picks right up on the cliff hanger left from book 2 and goes straight into the action. I have been really enjoying this story so far and book 3 certainly doesn't disappoint. Book 3 takes us right up to the wedding (that nobody wants to happen). I must say I am very impressed with how the author has managed to turn Jack into a good guy likeable character, as after the Vegas Aces series were he wasn't a nice person I certainly thought she had her work cut out. However she has done a fantastic job, and Jack is great. Even if you do want to slap him to his senses over his wedding to Michelle lol. Warning, this book ends on the worst cliffhanger yet! Can't wait for the next instalment to see what happens for Jack and Kate next...

Timeout is the 3rd book in this Vegas Aces series and you really need to read the first 2 to truly understand and thoroughly enjoy the dynamics between the characters and fully enjoy the overall storyline. Even though I received ARCs of all three of these books so far – Lisa Suzanne has become the queen of the cliffhanger and I COULD NOT WAIT TO READ THIS BOOK!
It once again, seamlessly picks up where Book #2 ends and ends with you wanting so much more. As Kate and Jack get closer to each other and Jack’s walls start to come down (ever so slightly) and he starts to let her into his “circle” – his wedding to Michele also gets closer and the struggle he has with “doing the right thing” and all that is on the line – his business, his football career, his son, his own happiness – begins to take a toll. Not only on him, but on their relationship in general. What will he do? What will he choose? Is there a way out for him that will allow him to have the relationship he wants with his son, his football career, his business and the love of his life?

Timeout picks up right where things ended in book two, Tackled. Jack is being hauled away in handcuffs, Kate is trying to get him out as soon as possible, but with this latest event her career is in jeopardy and so is Jack’s.

The tension between Kate and Jack is so thick. The chemistry between them is undeniable. Jack’s stubbornness could destroy everything they have. Kate is trying to get him to open his eyes, but he is doing what he believes is the right thing to do. I can see where he is coming from and he doesn’t want to risk anything, especially when it comes to his son, JJ.

Kate and Jack’s relationship is destroying my emotions. I feel so much for Kate and I’m glad that she now has Ellie that she can lean on for support when it comes to him. I have a feeling with how things ended in this book, Kate is going to need all the support she can get.

If you’re looking for a single dad, workplace, sports romance check out this one, but only after reading Traded and Tackled first!

Timeout is the third book in Lisa Suzanne's addictive Vegas Aces: The Quarterback series and is Jack and Kate's continuing story.
Timeout picks up where Tackled ended, which has left Kate more confused than ever.
Living with Jack and spending a lot of time together, Kate's feeling things she shouldn't, especially considering Jack's engaged and has no plans to cancel the wedding.
"I guess just because two people share feelings for each other doesn't mean they're destined to wind up together."
But as the wedding day approaches Jack goes into a dark place, withdrawing from Kate and his closest friends and family.
What will happen when the big day finally arrives? Will the wedding go ahead as planned and if it does, can Kate watch the man she's falling for marry someone else?
Read Timeout now to find out?
I loved Timeout and I am hooked on this story and these characters. Turnover cannot come soon enough especially with these cliff-hangers Lisa keeps leaving us on!
I received an arc of Timeout and I am voluntarily leaving my review.

"With each book released it’s getting harder to write a review without giving away spoilers. What I will say is that I could feel the connection between Jack & Kate grow as the story went on. My heart is breaking for both of them but Jack is stubborn as all get out that it’s bordering on major frustration for me. There was a bit of a secret potentially exposed but I am maybe only speculating or am just plain wishful.
Once again this new installment ends on a huge cliffhanger and my mind is going round in circles creating scenarios as to how I think the next book released will play out. I reckon I have no idea to be honest!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book." ~Sharon

This installment is full of angst and truth bombs. As the wedding looms, Jack and Kate are drawn closer to each other. Their attraction crackles but Kate needs to protect her heart as Jack is resolute in his decision. I need to see where this sorry goes. I suspect Michelle is up to no good where Jack is concerned. ~Cindy
