I needed more though! Their chemistry deserved more page time imo.

I mean COME ON...
An underwear designer and a football player? We needed more focus on that aspect aka more modeling of naughty underthings. But well, we can't have it all. I also wamted a more detailed description of their...ahem...moments together. #Robbed

This novella was nothing but pure seduction & perfection!!

Absolutely adored everything that went down with Gunner and Rafe from the start to the finish. This would have made such an incredible full-length novel, but I am just happy to have gotten this much of their story. Not to mention Shane East and Joe Arden narrating is always going to be a yes for me!! Separately these two can create quite the flame but together it is a full out fire with no way to extinguish it.

Thirst Trap is about showboat Gunnar Declan's teammate, third baseman for the San Francisco Dragons, and Rafe Rodman, Grant's favourite underwear designer.
The first time the two saw each other, they locked eyes at a dance club but sadly were not able to meet. The second time Rafe spots Gunnar, he heads over and they have a hot sexy time on the dance floor, but again Rafe had to leave.

Having figured out who Rafe is, Gunnar makes a hot, sexy post on Instagram with the throw down: “How about a new design, Rafe? Here you go.”





While this is a story with loads of hot and sexy moments, it does end on a HEA for this couple.

Thirst Trap is a short and sexy story in the Men of Summer series by Lauren Blakely. You can read it as standalone but I highly recommend reading the series since it is smokin’ hot and beautiful. If you have read the series or even the Rules of Love series than you have met Gunnar.

A showboat ballplayer. An underwear designer. A recipe for one hot night.

It all started at a dance club. They locked eyes and felt a connection except they don’t even come face-to-face until a month later. At the club. The lust is still there, burning even hotter. They didn’t even know each other’s names but the connection was there. It was intense. Rafe knew exactly what Gunnar wanted and he was ready to give in. But, only after Gunnar begs for it.

Omfg!! It is so delicious, fun, and full of heat. I didn’t even know I needed this story and now I want more.

Quick read, leads to full book on characters mentioned in this.
Rafe and Gunnar meet at a club. Just a glance/stare. Missed opportunity. Rafe is a designer and Gunnar is a baseball player for the San Francisco Dragons. When Gunnar goes back to the club he's hoping to see Rafe again. They do and spend a few moments dancing kissing till Rafe gets taken away with an emergency. Gunnar finding out who Rafe is, takes a selfish in one of Rafe's designs and posts it on IG, tagging Rafe. Rafe finds out who Gunnar is and goes to one of his baseball games and sends a note to Gunnar to meet him in his suite. There is instalust but also a great connection between them. They continue to see each other, happily, showing that a thirst trap does work out in the end.

This was way too rushed. It’s impossible to rate higher because there’s just not enough there. It’s not even a novella, it’s a short story. That’s not enough time for me to connect to the characters, and feel the connection between them and how it grows. This could easily be turned into a full length novel and I would gobble it right up.

Also, I just feel robbed - these boys are fire and I want more of them!

I'd give this 2-2.5* for the writing; even for a novella this felt quite underdeveloped and the characters' connection too strong, too abruptly, when they barely even spoke to each other about anything other than what they wanted to share physically. I would happily grant 4.5* of deliciousness for the narration, though!

What a shame! It was too short. I wish it had been a full length novel instead of a novella. I would have enjoyed reading it.
I was already curious about River and Owen's story, but after this, my curiosity increased even more!
And hope to see Gunnar and Rafe more in their story.
