Professor, meet student.
Sometimes, obsessions get you in trouble. With his fondness for measuring everything, Professor Finnegan Deane has been mocked by his previous alphas, to the point where he's given up on finding a bondmate. Until his too-handsome Master's student asks him out on a date.
Thing is, Jared has a secret. A big one. And he's hell-bent on hiding it from Finn.

Size doesn't matter... until it does.
Spurned by too many potential boyfriends in his past, Jared gets by these days trying to hide his Big Secret. It might've been fine if his crush wasn't obsessed with measurements... but Finnegan even measures Jared's eggplants at the farmer's market. What if he wants to measure the under-sized 'eggplant' in Jared's pants next?
When you're secretly in love with a professor out of your league, getting married seems like an unattainable dream.

Unknown to Jared, Finnegan has other plans. What Finnegan does best is teach. And he wants to show Jared that size isn't the only way to measure up.

Measuring Up is a 62,000-word non-shifter MPreg romance with professor/student and age-gap themes, with the sweetest alpha and an awkward professor, and the biggest HEA. (It's also a surprisingly heartwarming book, considering it's about eggplants.)

"This makes you blush too?"
"I'm sure everything you do makes me blush," Finnegan mumbled.
"I didn't know that." The fondness in Jared's gaze intensified. He tucked Finnegan's hair behind his ear.

the moment jared hawkins walked out in his eggplant onesie just to cheer up his professor finn deane, i know measuring up is going to be a winner. i can't believe i read a book about dick sizes and turns out i'm here for it. in this story, we meet a much younger and not the typical alpha jared hawkins and his older omega professor finnegan deane. jared has been dreaming about finding his own omega and this time it might be finn. both characters are bombarded with their own issues and i just love how this author resolved them. this a story about acceptance, empowerment, and honestly overcoming one's insecurities. omegaverse slash mpreg storylines will always be god tier to me and after reading this i realized i need to read more from this genre. i was very much swooning especially for how jared takes care of finn even in reality finn is more stable in his life than jared. as for all the eggplant jokes, i fucking loved it. it created this sexual tension between them definitely. as for my rating, i couldn't give this 5 stars because certain actions of the mcs in the last chapters kinda bummed me out. excited more from this author!

This book is ridiculous 💀💀

Let's stop treating small cock like they're a disability shall we,

The measuring and the eggplants it's just a joke, the whole thing doesn't add anything to the story I even think it would've better without it but I digress.

Would've been better when fin finally measured Jared's eggplant and he's like
Omg 4.5 cm that's like my favorite number but it just doesn't add anything at all.

Boring af.
I almost dnf this one, but skimming it all through the reading, mostly in the middle.
All the eggplants was cute at first but annoying until the end.
I enjoyed the first two or three chapters but it was downhill after that.
Didn't worked for me.

3.5 rounded up~

I thought I was going to have a book hangover after my last read but this pleasantly surprised me. I got tired of the eggplant innuendos very early on and of Finn's " no, we shouldn't because i'm your professor" even tho, apparently there's no more rule against it. Finn's reluctance went on for way too long considering he would say ' we shouldn't ' but absolutely did all the filthy things.

Now let's talk about Jared. He was PERFECT. I love my MCs not to be cocky and Jared was so insecure about his size that I really wished more of the story was spent building his self worth up.
But that's not what this story is about, it's mainly bad eggplant innuendo, lots of spice(i skimmed some) and then a tiny bit of hurt/comfort. There's also a great amount of scent marking and I loved to see the claiming bites at the end. 🥰
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

DNF @ 18%.

The eggplant euphemism may have been funny the first time (not really though), but I’m 200% over it now… including all the other innuendos, which are just the same things repeated.

And then there is their dinner date, which they were told was on the house, only to be given their check by the same person who told them it was in the house, and then they proceed to debate who will pay for their “on the house” meal.

This book was just back and forth of the same two difficulties..

Jared: "My size matters"
Finnegan: "Not to me"

Finnegan: "My age matters"
Jared: "Not to me"

And the whole eggplant theme got annoying pretty quickly.

Finn and Jared both have their own issues. Finn is an older omega, and he's pretty sure that no one will want to bond with him. Jared has issues with "measuring up " in certain pants areas. It makes both of them insecure about themselves.

I do like the fact that the book is all about acceptance. The guys learn to accept themselves, perceived faults and all. I mean, it wasn't an easy journey on either of them, but they figured out what they needed so that they could do what they needed to do.

They are both really sweet guys, and I'm glad that they ended up together.

Eggplants...

I loved the fact that this alpha was smaller than average, wingdinger wise. Usually one gets that whole alpha has a giant willie, so this was really refreshing. I really liked both mcs on here and am now glad that one of them will show up in a future story.

PS, I'll never think about eggplants the same.

This book was pretty unique, full of humor and lots of comforting feels. Finn & Jared have great chemistry, each with their own insecurities and full of support for one another.

I adored the eggplant's, the famers market, meals, onesie, innuendo, apron and measurements. Just very entertaining and so fun, the way it brings these two together had me smiling throughout.

Also the steamy scenes are incredible, plenty of heated moments and the use of toys along the way too. These two have a lot of passion and chemistry throughout, I enjoyed their romance and seeing the relationship develop as get to know one another properly.

There's a mix of good and bad when it comes to the heated scenes, in the way Jared feels he isn't enough as he is due to being abandoned and laughed at in the past. Finn's love of numbers, causes some misunderstandings and communication struggles throughout too.

Both feel they can't be together for different reasons, Finn thinks his too old and Jared worries his not big enough in the bedroom. It did get frustrating towards the last part of story, but I did like how they come together in the end.

Got to mention the friend group of omegas which all seemed interesting, has me excited to read more in the series. I may jump right into Kieran and Chase though, as I'm intrigued by them.

The pasta ring was super cute too, and I enjoyed the epilogue getting a glimpse at their future as a family was lovely. Such a happy ending 💛

I loved Measuring Up by Anna Wineheart. It's the first book in the Meadowfall Professors series. I loved Finn and Jared. Finn is a statistics professor and is obsessed with measuring anything that captures his interest. Jared is an alpha with a massive crush on his statistics professor. The only thing holding him back is his insecurities over his undersized private parts. I loved getting to watch Jared get over his insecurities with Finn's help. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Such a cute story. Had some fun with vegetables. Finn and Jared had their own insecurities but as worked through some up and downs they found that together they were what the other needed.

Heat Factor: bow chicka bow wow

Character Chemistry: They’re all very clearly written for each other, so the sweetness is inescapable

Plot: Older omega professor (/coach), pining for love and happiness, has irresponsible pants feels for a hot alpha student (who naturally goes to claim what’s his with no holds barred)

Overall: I could probably talk about concerning elements of these books all day, but gosh did they ever stroke my id

This is the only book I’ve read in which the alpha/hero has a small penis. So that’s something.

Finnegan is a dorky professor who simply has to measure everything. Everything. It has caused problems in his relationships in the past. He is also stressed out about getting tenure, without which he will lose his job, so he needs his research projects to pan out. As I mentioned above, basically none of the academic life aspects of this book are realistic at all, so we just have to buy into this whole idea or it just doesn’t work. Finnegan also has a huge crush on his grad student, Jared, who apparently only became a grad student so he could keep being around Finnegan.

Jared’s underclassman roommate (the alpha of book four of this series) finally convinces him to do something about his feelings, which I guess is the reason that the relationship changes at the beginning of the book. Jared, who has massive insecurities about the size of his penis, sees Finnegan measuring his eggplants at the farmer’s market and thinks, “Yes, this is the sign I needed to ask out my professor.” After which there is much hemming and hawing about sex, but there is also a lot of sex (and a lot of claiming).

I’m glad I read this one last, because I think it’s the weakest of the series. Wineheart introduces most of the other characters in the series relatively late in the narrative, so it doesn’t really have the “first in a series” revving up the reader vibes that most series starters have. Obviously Jared’s fears and insecurities can’t just be waved away, but the constant back and forth of their relationship got a little repetitive after a while.

Also, what is their term schedule that they’re planting fruits and veggies in the middle of the term and then they’re still teaching in the same school year nine months later?

Oh, how I love being back in Meadowfall, like returning to an old friend. We now focus on the professors at the university, first being Finnegan Deane, professor of statistics, and his student, Jared.
There is age gap, hurt/comfort, professor/student, mpreg happening in this book so plenty to please readers and fans of Anna's won't be disappointed. The beginning is especially laden with innuendo largely revolving around eggplants (aubergines) which adds a good bit of humour to the story as Finnegan and Jared dance around their attraction to each other. Finnegan believes himself not enough for alphas after others have left him for reasons including his obsession with measuring things (he has a thing for numbers). This, unfortunately, doesn't fall kindly for Jared when he has self esteem issues regarding his body after being left and laughed at in the past. They are more than happy encouraging and supporting each other but find it hard to do that for themselves. Each man is endearing in the ways they show their affection and when it comes to their attraction, they are definitely hot together, Jared especially finding extra ways to please his partner.
I loved this story for its struggles with esteem as it brings the alpha into that discussion where normally its just the omega who feels bad about themselves. It's great reading characters from previous books of the Meadowfall world and I'm looking forward to other professors that we meet here getting their own stories soon.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Sweet and Steamy

This was exactly what I love about a Wineheart book. It gives you all the heat you crave from a book, but follows it up with a sweet dollop of whipped cream. These two, once they stopped dancing around one another and pushing each other away, were so sexy and sweet together. Finn is the older professor and Jared is the student. What should never happen, does, and I’m so glad it did. Finn was a powerhouse once he unleashed his sexy side and Jared know exactly how to handle him. Jared often let his insecurity about his *ahem* eggplant size get in the way of perusing his own happiness. I so badly just wanted him to believe what Finn was telling him, about how it didn’t matter. There were several instances where I was to wring Jared’s neck! I was so happy when he finally let go and embraced who he was.

Finn, for his part, couldn’t stop believing that he was too eccentric for any alpha to love. Too many years of not feeling good enough had soured him on any chance at happiness. These two just seemed so right for one another. I loved that we got a complete story, one that followed them even after the I love yous. Lots of books stop right there and call it done. I was happy that we got to see past that, and even into the future via the epilogue.

This was a great little book that packed a punch in the bedroom and emotionally. A definite recommend for anyone who like a hot alpha/omega story.

Big hearts matter! Deane Finnegan, likes to measure everything. He carries a tape measure and whips it out anyplace anytime and discretely tries to measure and capture the data. He is 42, single and in intense like with one of his students Jared. Jared was tall, well built and gave the appearance of being a well put together Alpha. Jared seemed interested, maybe. Finn, dragged a few pieces of luggage behind him in life. Deane's conversations at teh market with his friend Quintin are absolutely hysterical. Deane and Jared, walk a fine line as teacher and student and their relationship is a risk. Jared, carried around a secret that affected his self esteem and his prospects in life. There are a few misunderstandings, that keep filling up Jared's baggage. His room mate, Chase is always ready to encourage Jared. Deane is challenged professionally with his pursuit of tenure. His supervisor, Zim is not making his job easy and is a bit of a bully. Deane and Jared, have many challenges professionally and personally. Can they stand together and face their challenges together? Will they let their differences seperate them? Will Deane get his tenure? Will Deane's measuring quirk cause problems? Good story. Great characters, sensitive story. Nicely done.

Review 4.5 Stars - Note: The late review is not due to the book, it was due to a health issue.

What a quirky Professor, Professor Finnegan Dean with his need to measure everything, but when he’s attracted to an Alpha, and a younger man, one of his master’s students, Jared Hawkins, threatens to reveal Jared’s deepest secret.

For Finnegan, his measuring obsession didn’t keep any Alpha’s around that would tolerate it; until Jared, 18 years younger than Finnegan could put up with it, just not to his private parts. Plus Jared has been in love with Finnegan from the start of classes, and his love won’t change.

I loved the twist to this book, where, Jared, being an Alpha was too small compared to how big most Alpha’s talk about in other books. Plus I loved the whole play about measuring eggplants (with another meaning) and using it as a metaphor brought a lot of humor to the story, and eased Jared’s self-esteem issues.

I, also, loved the HEA ending... very sweet. This book is very well written and well worth reading. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Jared has had his eye on his professor Finnegan Deane for years, but Jared is afraid that he will be just like all the other omegas and see his fault and push Jared away. Little does Jared know but Finnegan has noticed him already and Finnegan longs for something that he thinks he cannot have. Can the two men find a way to let each other in and share what is in their hearts?

Finnegan and Jared’s story is a wonderful read. It is so full of love and trust that it pulls on your heartstrings. Each man sees fault in himself and with painful pasts neither man wants to open his heart for hurt again. I loved seeing their relationship take shape and begin to deepen. Jared is a fun and loving Alpha who is good for Finnegan. He is more than ready to show just how much love he can give. Finnegan is a strong omega who understands and gives Jared just what he needs. The two make a beautiful couple and it was nice to see the love that finds its way into their lives. I also loved the circle of professors and hope that we get to see more form the omegas in it.

Finn loves to measure things, but he has been mocked by so many alphas that he has given up on finding anyone that will accept his obsession with numbers. Jared has a secret that he is hiding after being mocked and made fun of by potential omega mates. Except Jared wants Finn, but he knows that Finn is obsessed with numbers and measuring things. Jared's a scared that he will scare Finn away when he doesn't let Finn measure him.

This was such a sweet book on learning to love yourself and all those quirks that you think are weird. It shows you that there is someone out there who will accept you for you. I loved Finn and Jared, and while they had some communication problems, they were great together. I want to see the rest of the Omega Circle members that haven't had a happy ever after get their happy ending.

Measuring Up is the first book in the Meadowfall Professors by author Anna Wineheart. I loved many things about this book. One is the cute names to the chapters. I love how this story turns perceived notions about Alpha and Omega pairings. About accepting love no matter what package, it comes in.

Professor Finnegan Deane. He is obsessed with measuring. He gets made fun of a lot for it. He has given up on finding a mate no one will accept him measuring things or so he thinks.

Jared is a masters student. Spurned by Omegas in the past for having a small penis. Lucky for him Finn knows size doesn’t matter.

I really loved this story. These two are meant to be together. Highly recommend this one for a true romantic at heart.

Finn is an omega lecturer who has a trusted tape measure and is obsessed with measuring most things he comes across.
Jared is an alpha enamoured with Finn but Jared has a bit of self confidence issues and is afraid to make an advance on the professor.
There is a simmering attraction between them and when Finns love for measuring things becomes a common point between them it leads to so much more for them.

This was a sweet, low angst read with wonderful characters and great supporting characters. The author weaves in many common past characters into the story as well which enriched the plot.
The story is full of light hearted moments, heat, passion and a lovely HEA. I’m hoping to see more in this series soon.

This was really one of the cheesiest books I’ve read. I’m glad I didn’t DNF it, though, because it got better after the first several chapters.

An Alpha grad student has had his eye on his Omega professor for years. But he has held back because he’s been teased and tormented about his less than average size (cough cough) since he was a teen. Now he has a HUGE confidence problem. When he makes his be, the Omega doesn’t think HE’S worth pursuing because of his age (+18) and mediocre life

Readers spend the rest of the story reading about sexual innuendos (eggplant anyone?) and “poor me” attitudes. The characters became mildly more likable as the story proceeded, and they got the HEA with a satisfactory epilogue.

“He caught me measuring his eggplant.”
.
➳ Have you read anything recently that made you laugh?
.
➳ So I am deep into Anna Wineheart’s collective works. But when I finished this one, I knew it needed a post. This is such a good book that will make you laugh with all of the eggplants 🍆 and the eggplant innuendos. The eggplant emoji is alive and well in this book. We have a really shy professor who loves to measure all things; and his student who is less than confident about his size. Oh, did I mention all of the Alpha/omega deliciousness?
.
➳ Things I LOVED…
🔥 Professor/Student
🔥 Age Gap
🔥 The Measuring Tape
🔥 The Eggplant Onesie 🍆
.
➳ I Wanted More…
🪄 I want a little more of the confidence shown at the end. Maybe just a bit more HEA moments.

This one was a miss for me. Overly fixated on one MCs insecurities, I needed a lot more interactions showing the build up of them developing feelings. In a lot of ways it felt like “oh he will settle for me and I can’t do better so let’s be together.” That was the vibe coming from both of them.
More world building would have been helpful here too… there is mention in passing of a scent suppressant the omega uses but no real explanation. Also the word sin/sinful is used 14 times but I don’t have the context for what would be sinful in the world- are omegas or alphas required to mate at times? If so how would that impact the concept of “sin”? I’m sure I’m overthinking this but there were gaps that left a lot of questions. This was book 1 in the series but it felt like a continuation of perhaps another series, and maybe reading that first would have helped with the world building but since this was book 1 it should have all been provided here.

Aubergines will never be the same again.

I will never be able to look at an Aubergine again and not think about this book. Hilarious parts and others, I wanted to shout at the main characters.

As always, Anna brings us two main characters with flaws, or so they think. One is a quirky professor with a fetish for measuring everything before him, and I mean anything.

The next is a student who has a small embarrassing problem he can't face.
It was good to catch up with some of the other characters in the Meadow Fall books.

Great story, Professor/Student, age gap, omega/alpha, male pregnancy, and of course, our HEA.

Quirky Professor

This book took me longer to read than some others in the Meadowfall universe. I believe it was more about how each of these adults blushed at everything! Not sure why that annoyed me but it did. Anna does a great job as usual with each character and bringing their esteem up at least a little when they find love. It is a good read and deals with issues a lot of us deal with in some form. But with this one it almost goes overboard I think because both MC's have issues that ran off past partners so there are not many pages where a character isn't being self depreciating. They are a super sweet couple when they let go of their insecurities though.

JARED AND FINNEGAN RESOLVE THEIR SELF-ESTEEM ISSUES

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

Jared has a self-esteem problem that he doesn’t want to talk about. He wants to fall in love with an Omega who accepts him for who he is. Finnegan is an Omega teacher who wants to be loved for his quirk of always wanting to measure things. Add in eggplants and the story flows wildly and heart wrenchingly true. This story makes one reconsider some of the things in life that people have to endure. The truth is that it’s the motion in the ocean.

Alpha, Omega and Eggplants

This was such a sweet book. Both Finn and Jared struggled with insecurities. Both had experienced being left and neither felt that they were good enough to be kept. I loved how the age gap was not the most prevalent matter in their relationship. It was really about them accepting themselves, the good and the weird, and finding the strength to believe in each other. The heat factor was 🔥🔥🔥 and the background characters added extra depth. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series and can definitely recommend this one for a sweet HEA.

This overall was really cute! It was a classic omegaverse story with a lot of sweet and sexy spice. The characters were both really cute in thier own way. Both Jared and Finn had thier own insecurities and it was sweet how they helped each other get passed them.
I will say the beginning was a little over the top for me, I can only take so many innuendos before it's not funny anymore. But once the actual story progressed it got better and the interactions between the MCs got some more substance.

It was a pleasure to be back in Meadowfall!!! The descriptors are enough to make me drool. After reading this, I had a mad hankering for eggplant parmesan. This was another low angst feel good story that brought sunshine into my soul. It just made me feel lighter and brighter after reading it. All the warm and fuzzies you could ever want. I loved hearing about previous Meadowfall characters. It felt like a family reunion. Beautiful epilogue. Love and acceptance. ♥️🌈
