I'm not sure what path has brought me here. Reading a book with such an mmmm *chef's kiss* title. Yet here I am. Even worse, I somehow enjoyed the road that led me here.
I, unfortunately, made horrendous fun of this book when it was recommended to me by Goodreads. It's just...such a specific title. And on top of that, it was obviously self-published. I found it amazing that there were such raving reviews, but, you know, people's opinions can be bought...
Oh, how I eat my words.
After long consideration, I decided that I had now become obsessed with how bad this book looked and I must indulge myself in a new train wreck of a romance. I loaded it on my kindle, settled in with a scornful smile on my face, and took one last look at the title before diving in.
*hangs head in shame*
It's actually a good book, and I feel bad for the hard time I gave it before. The writing is really well done, the characters mesh well together, the romance isn't too over the top. Basically, it's everything that I didn't get in the Her Cowboy Billionaire Best Friend book that now, unfortunately, makes Goodreads think I'm obsessed with billionaire cowboys.
So, yes. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others. I finished it that night and thought that, overall, it was probably one of the best clean romances I've read so far. Unfortunately. So much for proving that you can judge a book by its cover.
(I did find that the one twist with Georgia finding out her true lineage was a little random and didn't ultimately have any contribution to the overall story, but it was literally like 2% of the entire story, and I already feel guilty, so I'm still rounding it to 5 stars overall.)
Jessie Gussman is one of my favorite authors, and Book 4 in her Sweet Water Ranch series is well worth reading. In The Cowboy's Best Friend's Sister, Georgia Hanson is asked by her brother Ford to stop by the hospital and check on his friend Sawyer Olson, who he and his new wife Morgan found collapsed in his rundown house's kitchen. He had lived there all the past winter, ensuring his cattle were cared for but not caring for himself. Knowing in November that another punishing winter is imminent, they want to be sure he's treated well. Sawyer hates hospitals; lounging in bed is a waste of time when there's a cow missing and a calf due any day. He throws such a fit that the staff sedate him and strap him onto his bed. He's furious! To his elderly roommate's amusement, he tears off the straps with his teeth, rips out his IV, and staggers into the hallway. Seconds later, Georgia enters and is treated to a tale of superhuman escape. She follows his blood trail and finds him in the stairwell, exhausted from climbing half a flight. When she part walks, part drags him to his bed, she sees a nurse gleefully announcing that she's found the perfect large needle to reinsert his IV. Sawyer can't keep his eyes open, but he hears Georgia sweetly tell the nurse that this patient is the best friend of her brother, billionaire Ford Hanson, whose donations keep the hospital open, and she would so appreciate them treating him with the same courtesy and respect they extend to all their patients. The nurse scurries out to find a smaller needle, and Sawyer wants to hug her for telling off that nurse! He refrains, though, because she's his best friend Ford's sister. Georgia wishes he would hug her, too, but she attributes his reticence to a misperception of her as a little girl. She doesn't share the tall Norwegian good looks of Ford, a computer company CEO, and Ty, an NHL star. Both of them had blond hair, a straight nose, blue eyes, and a chiseled jaw --Ty still does, but Ford was disfigured in a ranching accident, so he made Georgia the face of his company; now, however, beautiful Morgan will take that role and Georgia will be jobless and homeless. Fortunately, the doctor consents to discharge Sawyer early if Georgia promises to stay with him and keep him from doing too much too soon. She agrees...and suddenly she's a live-in caregiver! Problems solved. Sawyer has received a "get married, stay in North Dakota, inherit a billion dollars" letter from the eccentric owner of the original Sweet Water Ranch--his attempt to keep young people from leaving the state and raising their families elsewhere. Sawyer has to meet with Danielle, the woman he chose from those who answered his Facebook ad. (He chose her because she looked least like "the woman in his dreams"--Georgia! Too bad he's reluctant to cross the "best friend's sister" line.) At the bus station, Georgia knows exactly who Sawyer's wife-to-be is: a tall blonde with straight hair and blue eyes. She looks like a Nordic goddess--and Georgia, with her curly black hair, snub nose, freckles, and lack of height...doesn't. Danielle accepts Georgia's offer to carry her bag--in fact, she gives Georgia both bags, which should be a sign that she's not prepared to feed and water cattle and muck out stalls in a North Dakota winter. On the way to Sawyer's ranch, Danielle casually mentions that she's eager to get the $100,000 "bonus" he offered to the woman who marries him because she wants to pay her $90,000 gambling debts to Las Vegas casinos. Georgia is shocked, not only that Danielle would tell a near stranger about her gambling addiction, but also that Sawyer, who as far as she knows is dirt poor, has promised $100,000 that he doesn't have on a national social media platform rather than finding a local woman like Ford, Ty, and Sawyer's brother Palmer did. He could have found a Sweet Water native willing to marry him--like her! The next insult on Georgia's injury pile: Ken, a man she met and tolerated in Europe, invites himself to her ranch. Georgia asks Sawyer to come with her to pick Ken up (she wants to make sure he doesn't try to find his missing cow, and he wants to make sure the guy doesn't try any funny stuff), and Danielle asks to go because she's bored. Ken, an Arkansan, packed his heaviest clothes for a frigid Dakota winter--which will be much colder than November! They drive back to Sawyer's ranch house, and Danielle complains and Ken shivers while Georgia does the ranch chores and Sawyer watches her, growing fonder of her by the minute. As winter drags on, Sawyer gets stronger and Georgia lets him help her--while Danielle and Ken play games inside. Sawyer catches them kissing and realizes he wants to marry Georgia. They get their courthouse marriage blessed after the Christmas Eve service, when Danielle, now married to Ken, insults Georgia and causes a now-gentle Sawyer to declare his feelings in front of her protective brothers. Happy ending! I strongly recommend this book!
Sawyer and Georgia have known each other for years. She is his best friend’s younger sister and is therefore off limits to Sawyer. He is the man that Georgia has dreamed about for years and had longed to have as her boyfriend. Both have been attracted to each other for years, and the people around them both have noticed, yet they have never acted on it. When Georgia is notified that Sawyer is in the hospital recovering from pneumonia and needs some help to care for the animals on his ranch, she is determined to help. She is taken aback to learn that Sawyer has a fiancée on the way to town whom he will marry in order to collect a billion dollar inheritance and save his ranch. Georgia is hurt that he didn’t consider marrying her, but is she still determined to help. Sawyer’s small ranch house becomes quite crowded when a man Georgia met on her recent travels shows up in town for a visit, and he ends up staying at ranch along with the fiancée, Georgia and Sawyer. After being snowed in, Georgia is doing all the work while Sawyer is struggling to recover, and the other two end up getting to know each other muuuch better. It isn’t too long before Sawyer realizes he made a mistake with his fiancée, who in turn runs off with Georgia’s visitor. Sawyer is not too broken up about this latest development however, because he can only think about Georgia and how much he would like to share a future with her. He even believes he could give up the ranch if she would be part of his life as his wife. He inability to articulate what he is feeling, to explain what he wants, leaves Georgia hurt and confused. At first he refuses her offer to have a fake marriage with him, then he agrees to it. He intends to make their fake marriage into a real marriage filled with love and a future together. Will these two stubborn, strong-willed people ever openly admit their attraction and feelings to each other and make a life together? This story also provides welcome glimpses into the lives of the couples featured in the preceding books in this series. This is a thoroughly delightful book to read.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Sawyer’s been a peripheral character in previous stories, being the brother and best friend of various main characters from earlier books. We know he’s in trouble, this one starts with him waking up in the hospital, having nearly died of pneumonia. It galls him to need help, and it’s awkward that Georgia is the one who’s able to come out and take care of him. He’s had feelings for Georgia for a long time, but she’s his best friend’s sister and, he assumes, completely off-limits.
Georgia has been in love with Sawyer forever, but she’s pretty tired of waiting for him to wake up and realize she’s a grown woman. However, with no one else available to help Sawyer while he’s down, she moves in and takes over his chores, as well as his care. The marriage bonus that’s been extended to Sawyer plays a huge role in this plot, as he is barely scraping by. He needs the money, and before he gets sick contracts with a mail-order bride. The dynamics among the various players are not as well-developed as I’d hoped, considering the potential. Danielle and Ken are not well-rounded characters. They provide some misdirection and a little tension, then there’s a bit of a distracting interaction at the very end of the novel, but I thought maybe they could have been drawn a little better. In terms of Sawyer’s interaction with Georgia, both of them really just need to learn to communicate better, but they are so afraid of appearing weak or clingy that it takes them a long time to get to happy. However, like her other books in this series, the entire story is a celebration of small-town values, family, love, and faith. It’s very sweet, a quick and satisfying read if not too deep, and I was happy to receive an advance copy in return for my honest review.
My review today is on the Sweet Romance, The Cowboy's Best Friend. This is book one in the series Sweet Water Cowboy Romance. I'm having a hard time finding books by Jessie that I haven't heard on YouTube so was thrilled to find this one. It's well-written, humorous, and will make you cry. (I ended up crying in a restaurant. How embarrassing!) I know you are going to love it.
Palmer Olson received a letter telling him he would inherit a billion dollars. There was only the stipulation that he marry in the next six months and that he and his wife would live in North Dakota for the rest of their lives. Palmer really needed that money as his grandfather had a stroke and needs extra care. The medical bills are piling up and without that money, he will lose the farm. He, his sister, his niece, and his grandparents would lose their home. The only problem is he is in love with his best friend and she can't seem to stick around. Can he marry another for money?
Ames Hanson is a restless soul. She has been all over the world. She even won medals as an Olympian. She learns of her best friend's inheritance and decides to find him a wife. She could do it but she could never give up her freedom. None of the women were right for him. She couldn't picture him with any other woman. Now what?
A journey to find their way. Is friendship all that is between them? Can they give up that friendship? God has a plan for these two; a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a plan for peace and not for destruction even in this time of chaos. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.
I really enjoy this Sweet Water Ranch series. This is book 4 in the series and it is Sawyer and Georgia's story. Jessie and Jay make this book extremely enjoyable. Jessie wrote the beautiful story but the way that Jay narrates the book it just makes it all the more enjoyable. I started it late in the day and was up late finishing it.
Sawyer is Ford's best friend and Georgia is Ford's sister. Sawyer has always liked Georgia but he doesn't want to lose his friendship with Ford so he tries to ignore his feelings for Georgia. Sawyer takes all his money and tries to make a success of the ranch that he has bought. There are no buildings on the land that's suitable to live in so he lives in a small shed. He too, receives a letter telling him that he can inherit a billion dollars if he marries within 6 months and lives the rest of his life in North Dakota.
He takes out an ad on the internet and offers Danielle some money to come to North Dakota and marry him. He ends up in the hospital and Georgia has to take care of him, the farm and Danielle til he is better.
A really good story, excellent characters and the way Jay Dyess narrates it can't be beat. Can't wait to start the next book. The only suggestion that I have to improve these books is that they need to have a warning label that reads. Start early enough in the day so you aren't up half the night. I received my copy on Audible and this is my honest opinion
Sawyer puts EVERYTHING he has on the line to ensure that his ranch succeeds. He will work himself to death. He will starve himself. He will even hire a temporary wife in order to gain his inheritance. His commitment to take care of what belongs to him is so much a part of him that there is little he won't do. But to destroy lifelong friendships in the process? That is just too high of a price to pay. Will he be able to have a fake marriage with someone who could actually make his dreams come true? His friendships are important! Are they at risk? Can the fake remain fake or will it sometime become true for both of them? Will his friendships survive in the process? With all of the questions swirling around in his head, can they find a way forward? That is where the author shines! She allows it all to play out without bogging the story down. She pulls you into the story to feel all that is at stake, all of the possibilities and all the risk. If you only have this book, you can safely read it as a standalone...but each in the series makes it worthwhile to read them all. With that said, I feel confident we aren't finished with this community yet. There are still others who need their HEA. I was fortunate to receive an advance copy of this story and couldn't wait to tell you how much I have enjoyed Sawyer's story.
Sawyer Olson needs a wife if he is going to save his ranch in North Dakota and one should be here any minute if he could just escape his hospital bed in time to pick her up and head to the courthouse. His escape does not turn out as planned but fortunately his best friends little sister shows up to volunteer her services to care for both him and his livestock until he recovers.
Georgia Hanson has had a thing for Sawyer ever since she was a little girl but her diminutive size seems to make it impossible for Sawyer to see her as anything but a child. When she returns from her vacation her brother Ford asks her to take care of Sawyers ranch. Georgia sees it as an opportunity to change Sawyers viewpoint, but her hopes plummet when he asks her to pick up his wife at the bus station. To top it off, instead of spending time snowed in alone in Sawyers cozy little ranch house there will now be four people – Georgia, Sawyer, his wife-to-be and Georgia’s vacation friend who showed up unexpectedly.
This is a funny, clean western romance that will give you hours of enjoyment. It is well written and I had a great time trying to guess how everything was going to turn out.
This is another great book in the series by Jessie Gussman. I have read most of the other books in this series and this story was one that I had been looking forward to since reading Ford's story.
Sawyer was Ford's best friend. Georgia was Ford's sister. Sawyer and Georgia could never be together because Ford would kill Sawyer for hurting his little sister. Georgia had liked Sawyer since she was much younger. He had always seen her as Ford's little sister and nothing more. Now, she was all grown up and when he got so sick he was hospitalized, she came to his rescue to take care of him at home. Sawyer finally began to see her for the wonderful woman she was but he had already arranged with another woman, through an ad, to marry her so he could get his inheritance. Now, he had two women in his home; one his fiancé' and one his best friend's little sister. The more time he spent around Danielle, though, the more he realized he couldn't marry her, even fake marry. He finally realized he had feelings for Georgia.
Could it be possible for Georgia and Sawyer to finally have a happy ending to their story? Could a marriage that started as fake become something real?
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
I haven’t read many books by this author, and I don’t know why! I plan to change that! I find this author has a unique writing style. One I can’t really compare to others’. It’s mature, the pacing is really good, the development is steady and timely, the characters are great, ... she just seems to have a style I haven’t really come across before and I can’t really describe it. But I really like her books! A lot! And I definitely plan to read more of them! I didn’t realize these books are part of a series and I didn’t read the previous ones so I was at a slight disadvantage with a couple of the secondary characters (I will go back and read them now that I’ve finished this one as there is clearly a backstory with those) but the story doesn’t end in a cliffhanger. Hints are given as to who the next story will be about, which is always fun to look forward to as well. The heat level is behind closed doors with a married couple and there is no swearing. I especially liked the beginning of the story as the reader is immediately thrust into the action. It felt like the opening scene in a movie. Very well done! I definitely recommend this book.
Sawyer grew up with Georgia and her brothers. She always took care of Ford, her other brother Ty is a hockey player. Ford finds Sawyer sick when he goes to check on him. They rush him to the hospital and find out he is very sick. Ford calls Georgia because he has to go out of town. Georgia has had a crush on Sawyer for years and when she finds out he is in hospital she rushes to get to him. She is greeted with an empty bed and blood all over, the patient in the next bed tells her he has made a great escape.
I enjoyed reading this book, although I did wish they would have spoken what was in each other’s hearts sooner. But then the story would have been much shorter! I do hope that the mother with all them children gets her own story and happiness.
I love this series. Looking forward to reading more!
My disclaimer... I was given a copy of this book for my honest review. Any book or novels I leave reviews on are not dependent on the book/novel review author’s opinion. No one influenced my voluntary review for any of the books or novels I read, they are my own opinions.
I liked that this book continued the series where the previous book left off. Sawyer was extremely sick and had been taken to the hospital with pneumonia and other complications. It was interesting to see he was trying to get out of the hospital when Georgia showed up to check on him. He wanted to get back to his ranch, his cows, and surprise he needed to pick up his soon to be wife, Danielle. It was to be a fake marriage to get the money that the billionaire rancher left to him if he gets married by December.
I enjoyed meeting Georgia Hanson in this story. She may be small but she has a big heart of gold and she is always helping someone. She was so jealous that Sawyer would not consider asking her to be his fake wife. She has had a crush on him for a long time. The story got more interesting when Ken showed up. She met him on a recent vacation and had no idea he was coming to visit.
I enjoyed the twists and turns in the story involving Sawyer and Georgia and was so glad to find out how the story ended. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Cowboys Don’t Have a Fake Marriage With Their Best Friend’s Sister by Jessie Gussman (5 stars)
Some really great scenes in this book! I liked Sawyer’s and Georgia’s habit of calling each other nicknames that ended with the word ‘scoop’. I felt like the pacing was good, just when I was about to get tired of the angst, it was gone and was replaced by a great last few chapters and epilogue.
It really does make a city gal like me respect the grit and schedule of ranchers (male and female alike).
I loved Sawyer’s stubbornness and how Georgia knew just how to bend just enough that she could get him to do what she wanted, especially since all she wanted was his well-being and happiness. But I also love how feisty she could be! These two really were perfect for one another.
I love Jessie Gussman’s books and how each epilogue preps us for the next book. I am looking forward to Elaine’s story. We’ve glimpsed her and her struggles for a couple of books now and I want her to have her HEA.
*poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special
Another winner for Jessie Gussman! This author does beautiful work in the stories that she writes. This is a continuation of the Sweetwater series and gives the story of Georgia and Sawyer who we have seen in earlier books about their siblings. This book starts with Sawyer's hospitalization for pneumonia. This was a pick up from the last book. It starts with a bang and it doesn't stop until the last page. As always, great characters with real life problems and their work ethics are stellar. I didn't think Georgia and Sawyer would ever get around to telling the other that "Guess what, I've loved you for years!". I am looking forward ( patiently) to the next story in this series. These books are great, but read the whole series in order for deeper enjoyment. Very sweet, clean reading with HEA. I received an ARC copy of this book. This is my voluntary, honest and completely personal review. VICKI FROM WYOMING
I received an ARC from the author; this is my honest review. -Fun read. Great pace and characters. No drama, just a bit of misunderstanding and miscommunication. Great reactions from the people around Sawyer and Georgia - all blessings and good wishes. -Georgia is an exceptional worker. She proved herself while working for her brother Ford. Then she demonstrated it even better at Sawyer's place, taking care of everything and everyone. -Sawyer has finally met his match! He knows when he's been beaten. The nurses were really grateful for Georgia. I loved the cheerful repartee between them. -The gall of Danielle with all her ridiculous receipts! She's not even shy about them either; it's like she's owed something. I figured her and Ken were made for each other. -No sign of Remington yet, even in the epilogue so now I'm wondering how Ford talked him into meeting Elaine...
He always thought of Georgia, as his best friends little sister. She always had a crush on him. Neither one would admit their feelings. Sawyer had an inheritance coming to him, just as his brother Palmer had. One billion dollars if he got married by Christmas. He didn't even have a girlfriend. The money would save his ranch he had worked so hard to keep. but would lose if he didn't do something. He put an ad in the paper for basically, a fake wife, so he could get the money. Then he got sick before she arrived. Georgia had to take care of his ranch. Feed the cows and make sure Sawyer ate. The fun begins when his fake wife gets to the ranch.
You will have to find out for yourself what happens next. This book and the series is a very much must read. Jessie know how to keep to fun going. Enjoy.
[BOOK 4 OF THE SWEET WATER RANCH SERIES: FORMERLY TITLED "COWBOYS DON'T HAVE A FAKE MARRIAGE WITH THEIR BEST FRIEND'S SISTER"; NOW TITLED "THE COWBOY'S BEST FRIEND'S SISTER"]
Truth or consequences
This book picks up where "The Cowboy's Beauty" left off. Sawyer was extremely sick and had been taken to the hospital. Georgia is the one who agrees to take care of him so he can go home.
When the woman who has agreed to marry Sawyer arrives & a recent acquaintance of Georgia's shows up unannounced at the same time, an unexpected snowstorm winds up stranding them all together, the four eventually discover the true intentions of everyone involved.
It's a cute story with some amusing moments. There's a bit of frustration at the fear of communication, but it's still quite entertaining overall
I have come to love all the books in this series, and this one was just as good. Georgia Hanson has had a crush with Sawyer Olson since she was very young. But Sawyer, Georgia’s brother’s Ford best friend, will not consider anything more than friendship. His friendship with Ford is too important. When Sawyer is hospitalized she offers to take careof him. This coincides with the arrival of Sawyer’s “bride to be”. A woman willing to marry him for money, so he could inherit a large amount of money and save the ranch. From the first page to the last this engaging story is touching. at times heartbreaking but also heartwarming. The characters are complex and likable . I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Another story of marrying in order to receive a billion dollars! I already knew Sawyer and Georgia from earlier books in this series. Georgia is a sweet caring young lady who is very small in size and treated like a child! Sawyer has been the good friend of Georgia's brother for years. Sawyer is the strong silent type who has worked hard to keep his ranch from going under. This book begins with Sawyer in the hospital with pneumonia and malnutrition from going without food to save on money. You won't believe the trouble this cowboy causes in the hospital! This was a great book. if you like cowboys, you'll want to read it. I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.
Sawyer is in love with his best friend's sister. Has been for years. He's never acted upon it as he doesn't want to violate his friend's trust. What he hasn't known, is Georgia has loved him just as long. She just believes he loves her like a sister.
When Sawyer becomes so sick he is hospitalized, Georgia is the one who takes care of him and his ranch so he can leave the hospital. When the woman who has agreed to marry Sawyer arrives, Georgia has to pick her up. When a recent acquaintance of Georgia's shows up unannounced at the same time, Sawyer has to put up with him too. When an unexpected snow storm leaves them stranded together, the four find out the true intentions of everyone involved~
Totally loved this story. You got to meet Sawyer in other stories and he is one stubborn man who loves his cattle. He takes his friends very seriously and refuses to upset anyone. Georgia has had a crush on him since she was a teen but he never noticed her because she is his best friend’s sister and that would be wrong in his vision of the world.
I really enjoyed their playful scoop banter, that made me chuckle most of the time. You can see why they both think the way that they do. Georgia is the only woman who gets Sawyer to see what he needs to do to get better both physically and mentally. I love her strength.
This story kept me up half the night because I had to see how it ended. Again, loved it.
I have wanted to read the story sealing their fate for a minute. Who would have thought old lughead would almost ruin it all. Georgia did what she does, she stepped up and took care of things when she was needed. It didn't help that she was head over heels for him, it's who she was. When she finds out some startling news is it really surprising that Sawyer was the one who was there for her. It's a great story and yes this author may keep it clean of details but she doesn't skimp on the emotions these two battled with without it being over the top. I love these sweet reads and that this author gives us enough drama and stuff that we are invested in their hea.
I really love these stories set in ND. Having lived in the snow belt of Syracuse for ten years, I totally understand how harsh the winters can be in these places and can't imagine having cattle and a farm to care for! Georgia is one tough cookie in a small package and I loved her spunk and willingness to do whatever it took to help save the farm. Sawyer is such a great hero with his dedication and devotion to what matters. Maybe because my son has a farm in Maine and I've seen first-hand the tough life that it is, I could really relate to this book. I loved the interaction and chemistry between Georgia and Sawyer. A well-written enjoyable read!
I swear each book is better than the last! I loved this story, I already liked Georgia from the last book, so this was fun to read her story. Although you could read this as a stand alone, you would probably enjoy it more if you've read the previous books. Sawyer and Georgia have been circling each other for a little while, so the back story makes you root that much more for them. I liked how this one started, kind of back tracking/overlapping to the end of the last book, only from a different point of view. These two cracked me up so much, I laughed more than once. I even got a little misty after a jaw dropping scene. And I couldn't wipe the smile off my face with the ending, so cute!
Sawyer desperately wants to be released from the hospital. The doctor reluctantly agrees, as long as there is someone to care for him and to keep him from working himself to death on his ranch. He needs time to heal. Georgia has had a crush on Sawyer since she was in school. When she gets snowed in with him in his small shack in North Dakota, the situation is made more awkward by having two other people in the mix; his mail-order fiancée and a man who makes himself Georgia’s uninvited guest. With tight quarters and nowhere to go, things just might get interesting as they each determine what it is that they truly want. Mr. Dyess’s low voice for Sawyer will give you tingles.
Georgia and Sawyer take us on an enjoyable ride. I Loved reading and listening to this book. Jessie Gussman and Jay Dyess are the perfect duo as writer and performer of these audio books. What a combo! Georgia and Sawyer have been friends for a long time as he visits and spends time with her older brother quite often. Georgia admits to herself that she loves Sawyer and always has. Sawyer refuses to see her as anything but his friend’s little sister. Luckily he finally admits that he loves her but it took a near death experience for him to realize it. Happily, they finally come to their HEA and we the reader becomes fully sated. Loved the ride getting there!
Jessie's books are edifying. I would say they are also light reads, but she does tackle difficult topics. Bad things happen to the characters or because of their choices, but there is redemption, grace, and forgiveness. She weaves in truths about how we should leave as Christians, which serve as reminders as I listen along.
I've listened to her books on YouTube "Say With Jay." He's a great narrator, even for the women's voices. It's the type of book that you can listen to while doing something else. Any can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend starting the series in order as several connect characters and places.
This next installment in the Sweet Water Ranch Billionaire Cowboys series is wonderful--just like all the others! It is one of those rare series that I might actually reread one day. I've been eager to read Sawyer's and Georgia's story. Georgia has had a crush on her big brother's best friend, Sawyer, since childhood. It seems that Sawyer only sees Georgia as a kid--he nicknamed her Single Scoop because she is so petite. This is a great tale that details how they went from friends to lovers. Highly recommend!
Cowboys Don't Have a Fake Marriage with Their Best Friend's Sister is a wonderful, heart warming, romance from Jessie Gussman. The book can be read by itself, but is even better if you have read the series. I have eagerly been waiting for Georgia and Sawyer's story. The story draws you in immediately as Sawyer executes his hospital escape plan. The story is well paced, has several laugh out loud moments, great chemistry and wonderful characters. I put off everything else (including sleep) to power read this book. It is awesome!
